Song auto pauses (Randomly) with headphones.

So I have a "mp3 adapter (Just a headphone jack)" In my truck. I plug it in my Iphone 3g, Turn my music on and it works fine. But randomly (Everytime) it will pause. When its locked, or on the ipod screen.
It really bothers me.. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. My iPhone 3G randomly pauses and starts again when playing music only when headphones are plugged in, speaker mode works fine. This will not happen if you use apple headphones with the 3rd ring on the connector. Unfortunately this extra ring on the connector is what controls the pause and volume on the apple headphones, and without it there are issues. However, rather than throw out your expensive headphones, Opt to go buy the little adapter that was created for the first gen iPhone witt the recessed jack. I am happy to report that the adapter has the 3rd ring on it and once plugged in any other headphones or speakers work just fine. The adapter cost me $8.85 at the Apple store. It is not what the adapter wa intended for, but it certainly resolves the issue without having to spend a lot of money.

Why are my song ratings getting randomized with each sync instead of saving the correct ones from the device I latest changed on to the other (PC iPod)

Simple thing. Would be very useful to use.
I listen to any songs, mark their ratings with what I think.
Then the moment I sync my iPod to iTunes (windows 7) All the ratings are getting just randomized. Most of them gets deleted, others get changed to ones I surely didn't touch.
No matter wich device I set them on.
I tried to do on iPod then sync to PC -> gone random
I tried to rate in iTunes then sync to iPod -> gone again.
I did separately the same ratings on my iPod and iTunes, then synced -> RATINGS GONE!
Fix this issue please. It has absolutely no use at the moment.

Your Comcast accounts are POP (unless you enrolled in the Comcat Beta test of Imap) so they won't sync at all. Either enroll in the Beta test or don't use Comcast.
Your iCloud account is Imap and should sync just fine, unless you have set it up incorrectly.

Is it possibly to fast forward songs on ipod touch with headphones?

I had some 3rd party headphones with the remote control and volume rocker on them and they started breaking. The odd thing was when using them the song would sometimes play at 2 times the speed. I would have to unplug and then replug back in the headphones. I got new headphones so the problem is fixed but how is it possible to do this on purpose?

Hi. Try this. Double click the pause/play button, on the second click, hold the button down. This should fast forward the music.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

I put iPod on "songs, shuffle" but the shuffle isn't random! Same artist repeats often, same songs repeat before other songs are played. With over 2000 songs on the iPod, I shouldn't be getting repeats very often. Anybody else?

Shuffle is not perfect. What you are experiencing is normal.

Auto Pause between songs in a playlist

I want to use iTunes to play backing tracks to sing to and would like it to move onto the next song but not start playing it until I tell it to.
Is this possible?
I can get it to play single songs and stop, but it doesn't move on to the next one.
If iTunes won't do it can anyone recommend a program that will?

hi chris yes of course it is, but having no auto pause option built in to this software is in my opinion a fundamental error, if you cnsider such devices as mini disk and cd players and the freeware available for windows, which pc based i tunes and i pad based i tunes could replace in a pro environment, they all allow users an option to play all or play single tracks.
While this fix of dougs is only open to mac users, which i am not, i am never going to invest any time in itunes, as for me it will always be considered as bedroom software and not be taken serious. If i wanted to run this script on an ipad, would i need to borrow a mac to install it??

Update: Found Waveburner, 10 minutes later, created 4 song CD as wanted (with timed pauses inserted, normalized, as needed, etc). A cool tool. Who do I thank? Thank all of you. Sorry if I failed to award "points" properly. You know who you are!

I have a few co-writes I get mailbox money for (enough $ to remind me that I am a "song" writer).
I am a visual artist for the most part.
What I am working on musically, primarily, are longer-playing instrumental pieces. Today I'm working on mix of one for my new website (it will accompany a video that was shot and edited by an award-winner...). So music will play when my art video is playing.
Some of my paintings (cropped) can be seen on my user profile. The art will give you an idea as to the music, perhaps?
I am looking forward to using Logic for adding my music to films of my visual art I shoot, but that is another day. (Hopefully any software I need will be easily found, then!)

IPod pauses randomly, affected by headphones

I'm very positive that my iPod pauses randomly because of my headphones. I've always known this, and more expensive headphones work fine (golden coatings) but i just got a $10 one, and just like I fear, my iPod is pausing randomly again.
I once read about how to fix this using tape or something... I'm willing to do most anything, any help?

Why do i hear no sound when playing songs with headphones and without?

all of a sudden i can't hear any song i play, using the headphones and not using the headphones. I've done the hard reboot three times, turned on and off my itunes icloud, then back on. Still no sound when playing music.
Any solution?

Everyone I work with is having the same problem, presently Apple's Music Match is not working.
I certainly hope they will be able to fix this as soon as possible.

Auto-Pause feature when unplugging headphones/aux not working?

So my ipod touch is no longer auto-pausing the music after I unplug my aux port from it in my car. So now I find that it is playing the music forever and not auto-locking. And because it isn't auto-locking, my battery dies fast when I don't notice it. Anyone know how to re-activate this feature? I have "Auto-lock 1 minute" on in the settings, but thats not doing it. =/ Any ideas?

Try shutting you iPod Touch completely off by pressing and holding the sleep button and sliding to the right.
After that, please turn it on.

Lumia 520 music player gets stopped with headphone...

Hi folks
I have a problem with my nokia lumia 520. When I am playing music with my headphones the music gets paused. It has been happening for the last week. It works fine on speakers but not with headphones. I have tried several headphones, did a soft-reset, uninstalled nokia music, but nothing is working so far. Phone wasn´t crashed or dropped to the floor, it is happening for no apparent reason. Any ideas?

Hi, Sedejaballevar. What's the model of your headphone & the other headphones you've tested with your Lumia 520? Does the issue happen when transitioning from one song to another or randomly during a song? Are your songs from your phone memory, memory card, offline mix or through online source (online mix)? So my iPod has this strange tendency to pause randomly while it plays music. It has gotten to the point where it makes listening to music impossible (and therefore the iPod useless). I have tried everything:
-the 5 or 6 R's that Apple is promoting
-i have changed headphones numerous times (i think it might be the headphone jack)
-i have even sent it into apple care and they sent it back saying they are "unable to reproduce the symptoms"
It seems to work properly when i plug it into a stereo that has the same hookup as the ipod update cable.
can anyone help me!

Mine also pauses at random, I think it has something to do with the battery or power management, which can be either software or hardware related. it happens mostly at random for me but seems to get worse as it gets down into the red.
things I have tried to fix it
different headphones (still did it)
restore (still did it)
restore w/ no apps (still did it)
bluetooth headphones (via a bluetooth adapter since its 1st gen) (still did it but VERY rarely).
Also I would like to add that when i'm running it on an ipod dock, it still does it but not very. (so its not just the headphone jack)
i'm running 2.2.1 i'm thinking of upgrading just to see if it fixes it, any success stories?
I called apple and they want $199 to fix it which I think is completely bs!

ITunes pauses randomly after Leopard upgrade

Hi,
I upgraded too Leopard 2 days ago and iTunes has not been working correctly since.
iTunes randomly pauses songs (after about 30sec.), if I press play again it pauses again...
I have restarted iTunes and I have tried it with and without using Airtunes, but the problem stays.
Anyone having the same problem?
BTW I use You Control: Tunes, but the same here, I have stopt the engine and the problem stays...

Aparently I was too hasty with my conclusion:
iTunes still pauses 'randomly'. Although I think I found when it goes wrong. Everytime I play a song after a few seconds I can here the processor working harder, at this time iTunes or Leopard is changing the iTunes database files in the iTunes folder. When it is done 'updating' them iTunes pauses the song. I don't see how we can fix this one...

I received mine yesterday as replacement for 1st generation and yes I had exactly the same problem.
I don't think it is anything to do with headphone plug [jack].
I played around with the settings and have just managed to listen to three hours without problem.
Music settings; shake to shuttle off, sound check off, double click - play/pause, audio cross fade and group compilation on. Can't be all these but trial and error as to which one - unfortunately it came without instructions.
The only other thing was that I had it in pocket while i was moving whereas yesterday I was sat at desk with nano at rest.

I recently bought a new 60GB video iPod and since i can remember, it has been pausing on its own when i play a song. this does not happen all of the time and it is not because i am accidentally hitting pause in my pocket or anything (i have tested it by just holding it in my hand). at random times it will just pause like every 4 seconds or so a couple of times and then be fine for several minutes until it starts up again. does anyone know what this may be and if there is anything i can do to fix it???

yeh ive got a video 60gb and i also get the problem but for me it only happens wen i watch a video.
ive test the microphone jack, because theres some auto pause function.
its really frustrating but wat in pauses i will have to fastfoward to the point it gets unpaused. if i let it sit there paused it will become unpaused but without any sound :S
