Song Help

Does anyone know how to transfer songs from your iPod to your library? They got deleted, and I don't know how to get them back!!! Thanks for your help!!

1) If Itunes is already installed disk use may need to enabled so you can see the Ipod in my computer. Itunes hides your ipod from windows otherwise.
2) Make sure you can view hidden files. In MY computer go to tools>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders.
3) Windows should see the ipod and your music should be on your ipod in several hidden folders. To be safe I would copy it all to say your desktop.
4) Install Itunes http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ and the Ipod updater http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/ (if you don't already have it installed)
After that drag the copied folder to Itunes (drag and drop or in Itunes (File>add folder to library)
You may need to authorise your new computer by playing it in the library first.

  • Update to the latest version, no my music library can't find half the songs, help?

just updated to the latest version of itunes, now I get a message that itunes can't find the location of half my songs, help?

Thoses items are not part of the backup that iTunes makes as the first stip of the update.  Thus, if they were not in the iTunes library of the computer on which you performed the update. They are synced from the library to the iPod at the end of the update andthus if they are no in the library they can't be synced to the iPod.
If in the USA you can redownload most iTunes purchases by iCloud. See:

  • Itunes doesn't play songs, help me please

hi guys, i'm an italian boy. my itunes doesn't play any songs that i have; when i click on one song the little blue loudspeaker appears but the song doesn't start. this problem began to exist when i downloaded the latest version of itunes (6.0.5, i think) so i have decided to unistall the latest version and to re-install the old 4.0 version, but the problem persist. maybe i've unistalled some of the pc's programs that were necessary to make itunes operative, but i don't remember which. please help me!!! contact me at [email protected], and sorry for my english...:-)

the same thing is happening to me as well since I upgraded to the latest version of iTunes. My sound beeps now in everything, from email notifications, to music. But iTunes won't play any songs that I select. Hope to get some feedback.

  • Itunes shows multiple listings for the same files (songs), help ???

dunno why, but Itunes is showing mulitple listing for my file (songs), is there a way to clean this up instead of going through the list one by one to get rid of the extra listing...?? thank you in advance...

It looks like you have duplicate entries in the library (two entries pointing to the same song file), but you could also have duplicate files.
Add the 'Date Added' column to the library (View Options, Command-J) and sort on 'Date Added'.
If many songs show the same recent 'Date Added' and you didn't actually add them that day, those ones obviously are the duplicates.
Compare a few of those entries with their duplicate ones.
Do they point to the same file? If so, delete the last added ones, but choose 'Keep Files'.
If they point to different files, delete the last added ones and choose 'Move to Trash'
If the above does not help, you might find a useful script at www.dougscripts.com/itunes
Search for "duplicate" to find the appropriate scripts.
You will still have to remove the entries manually though.
    Hope this helps.

  • Lost Previous Downloaded Songs Help?

Received an iPod Shuffle for Christmas and have some problems. Redeemed a download card at iTunes Music Store while visiting my aunt. Downloaded (2) songs, worked with no problems.
Now I go home and can't get the iTunes set-up disk to work on my home computer. Went to the iTunes website and downloaded software from there. Downloaded an additional (4) songs but now the original (2) songs are not there? What happened? You can go to My Computer and access the iPod when connected to the USB Port and several folders are there that has all (6) songs shown, but only plays the most recent (4) songs, Why? Any Ideas?

When you say that you've downloaded wirelessly through iTunes, are you referring to songs downloaded via the iTunes wi fi store on an iPod touch or iPhone? If so, the next time you have songs on the device that are not in iTunes, you may want to try the following (just to be safe) prior to connecting the device to the computer.
    1. In iTunes click Edit > Preferences > Syncing tab
    2. Select the option to disable automatic syncing and click OK
Connect the device and click File > Transfer Purchases from iPod
Regarding the lost songs, I would email iTunes Store support and explain what happened. They should be able to help you get these songs back, in a pinch.

As always, make sure you back up your iTunes store purchases to avoid any loss of your valuable music in the future.

  • Cant Transfer songs HELP!!!!

i cant transfer song to my ipod mini, it says it can not read or written in the disc. In the itunes there exist a small lock just beside the bar showing the capacity left in the ipod.
    HELP!! what should i do??

"i cant transfer song to my ipod mini, it says it can not read or written in the disc"
See if this helps: "-36 or "Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod or "Firmware update failure" error when updating or restoring iPod
"In the itunes there exist a small lock just beside the bar showing the capacity left in the ipod."
A lock symbol at the bottom of the screen and grey text when you look at the content and simply shows that your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. For more detail see this tutorial: Managing Your Songs Manually
One thing to be aware of with manually updating is that the iPod also has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod
    For info: iPod 101
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

  • My iPhone dont want sync my songs (Help Me)

I have my songs in my iphone, but there is a square surrounded by a round and not play the song
    PLEASE HELP ME

Try a different usb cable to verify that it isn't the cable.  If it isn't the cable, make an appointment at the genius bar at an Apple Retail store.  If your phone is still under warranty, and there is no accidental damage, they will likely replace it.  If it is not under warranty, or if there is liquid damage or visible drop damage, you can possibly arrange an out of warranty service which is $199.00 USD for an iPhone 4S.
    Best of Luck.

  • Lost purchased songs, help!

I need help trying to retrieve my songs (about 10) that I purchased through iTunes. I checked in the drive that it is set to go in as well as my entire computer, and all are gone. I checked in my iTunes account under 'Previously Purchased' and they show there with the dates and everything. How can I get them back, or are they gone for ever?? Also, I think this happened after I had selected to sync my music, did that delete them?? Please help. I would like to have the songs I paid for come back.

You can use Explorer to search your computer for missing songs.
On the Start menu, click "Search".
    Select "All Files and folders".
In the "All or part of the file name" field, type the song name and then click "Search".
If you see the file you are looking for in the Search Results window, you can add it back into your iTunes library.
See: How to add songs from your hard drive to iTunes.
If you've done all this and they are gone, are they still on your iPod?
If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.

  • LOST songs help me

So I moved to the north west left my computer which my ipod was sync to and now using a new computer. So when I started to use itunes for the 1st time it asked me if I wanted to sync and I said yes...LIke a dummy...Does this mean all my previous music is lost for good??? PLEASE HELP

Sorry i'm new to this forum, not knowing how to create my own post i'm using this topic to raise my question since i experience similar problem. This is the first time i've used itune, songs were imported into my ipod from another computer, now i'm using itune from a new computer so there were no existing songs in itune playlist to sync.
    1. my Itune doesn't seem to work properly, it doesn't play the songs in my ipod, sometimes playing a song will make it disappear from the list, other times it wun respond.
    2. i accidentally cleared about one third of my songs from my ipod when i selected them all and 'cleared' it from itune. i wasn't able to retrieve it any way and when i disconnected my ipod from pc trying to find if its still in it, contents have been emptied.
    3. when i reconnected my ipod back to pc i went to the drive property to find the memory used up remained the same before i cleared anything from my ipod. Does this mean the songs are still in my ipod somehow.
Is there anyway i can recover the lost data(from estimation, 300 odd songs were gone)???
Really appreciate if you could help!!

  • Half downloaded songs, help?

I noticed the other day, a couple of the songs I've purchased from iTunes have downloaded, but only about half the song? Is there anyway to sort this out at all because I'm getting nowhere with actually trying to contact iTunes themselves

If you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases (see iTunes in the cloud availability) then delete the current copies and download again, otherwise, or if that doesn't help, use the report a problem links in your account history to report a problem.

  • A-z order of songs help!

when i put my ipod on the pc the songs on it are in alphabetical order, but when i play them on the cd player they play randomly. i want them to play in a-z order on the cd player!
    whats the solution please?
    thanx

Hello, and Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Not sure if that is what you want, but you could set up playlists (takes some time, though) or just listen to the Albums one at a time, in which case the songs will be in proper order.
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem deleting songs---HELP!!!

I'm having problem deleting songs, when i select the ipod icon in the screen of ituns i can't select NOTHING FROM THE LIST,and in the lower right hand a "lock" is locked,(is next to the GB numbers. Can anyone help me to unlocked that thing?
Oh i almost forget, i'm sure that the hold button isn' he reason for this, coz i checked that it wasn't locked.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Try unchecking the songs you want deleted in your iTunes library. Then connect the iPod and go to edit-->preferences. Hit the iPod tab. Check "Only update checked songs". Click OK.
    Here are some other options...
Deleting Songs or Playlists from your iPod
Finally, you cannot select anything under the iPod because you are automatically updating. That is normal behavior.
