Song I bought isn't authorized to be played
A profesor sent me a song for a class and I wasn't able to play it on my computer because my computer wasn't authorized to play it. So I bought the song in the itunes store and after I had payed for it and it downloaded I attempted to play it and it still said it wasn't authorized to be played on my computer. It won't let me downloaded it again. Any suggestions?
There should be no need to authorize to play a song you recently purchased unless you purchased this from the Japan store.
Let iTS know about this, as it most likely is a content problem.

Windows 7 laptop. Recently upgraded iTunes to 11. Bought 3 songs off iTunes Store. Downloaded them. Moved them to the directory where I keep all my music (external hard drive). None of the 3 will play. Error message "could not find the original file".
Cannot re-download them from the iTunes store. Followed the directions in the Help. No joy as there is no download icon next to these songs.Hey,
Have a look at this:

Did I not answer your question? You didn't ask for any troubleshooting tips. You simply asked "Anyone have songs they bought on iTunes that won't play". And I haven't.

I bought a song in ITUNES and had problem downloading it. I contacted support and they downloaded the song for me. Now when I try to play the song, I get a message saying my computer isn't authorized to play it. I try reauthorizing but that doesn't work, just keep getting the same message. Can anyone help?

Bought an album and only one song isn't authorized
Yesterday I bought an album from the iTunes store; every song plays fine except one. When I click that song, iTunes tells me my computer isn't authorized to play it.
I've tried deauthorizing my Mac and reauthorizing it, but the problem persists. It doesn't play in Quicktime or VLC either. Really odd, since the rest of the songs are normal.Figured it out myself
I deleted the song, then re-downloaded it again from my Purchases in the itunes store. Seems to be working fine now. -
Bought a new computer, and new ipod 160 GB. I went to sync all my music and it's telling me that the computer isn't authorized. I authorize it, by going to store and authorize this computer, and it still won't let me sync these songs
Think you got to reboot or relaunch iTunes after the Authorization.
but here is the Apple support Article on Authorization and sync to iPod

My computer says it can't copy some songs to my iPhone because my computer isn't authorized, but it is.
Hi Sonnova,
Do you happen to have more than one Apple ID? If you've authorised your computer using the one you're signed into then the most likely cause is that the iTunes purchases were made on another Apple ID.
To check you bought them on the Apple ID you're signed into, you can go into iTunes, click on Store and View My Account. From there you should have a Purchase History option where you can check the songs were bought on that account.
If you have another Apple ID then try to sign into that one (sign out of current one and into new one under Store in iTunes), then Transfer Purchases again and you should have no issues.
Hope this helps. -
I want to play a song I bought but when I press play it says I need to authorize my PC but when I put in my Apple ID it says its already authorized. What should I do to be able to play the song?
Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.

iTunes says my computer isn't authorized to play one of the songs I just downloaded, but all the rest of them work. That song works on my iPad so why won't it work on my computer or my iPod? It says my computer isn't authorized to play that song so I type in my password and it pops up with a menu saying my computer is already authorized and it skips to the next song. No matter what I do it won't play that song on my laptop or my iPod.
Could be a Corrupt download of that song...
If you live in a Region that allows re-downloading Music...
Delete the Song(s) and re-download...

I have turned on Home Sharing and Imported most of the orginal library but certain songs won't import. The Itunes tell me that the computer isn't authorized but when I log in it says that it is already authorized. This is very frustrating, please help.
You need to select what you want to import first.

Hi! I bought a song on itunes, and now it won't play on my computer or iPod. Itunes on my computer keeps telling me that I'm not authorized to play the song on my computer, even after reauthorizing it. Is there anything I can do to play the song?

I downloaded an album but some of the songs won't play - says my computer isn't authorized to play the song. I checked the authorization, and this computer is authorized. How do I fix this?
If just some of the tracks on the album are doing that, that suggests those tracks are damaged.
If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items. -
How to play music that my computer isn't authorized to play?
A couple years back, I had an account (using my dad's credit card/email) on the Itunes store on which I bought a couple songs. I now want to listen to those songs, but iTunes is telling me that my computer isn't authorized to play it. I don't remember the password and my dad has deleted that email account since that time so I can't authorize it...anything I can do?
Download VLC player http://vlc-media-player.en.softonic.com/mac...
or if youre lucky enough to have a program such as compressor, wondershare, or anything that converts files. convert it from apples itunes m4a to MP3 or anything else. that way you can use it on your itunes or anyone else's without having to authorize. -
A year ago I bought an Imac to replace my broken Laptop. I have two Ipod touches. They both shared the same Library of CD and Itunes music. Until I synced the Ipod to my Itunes account on my Imac. And it wiped the CD songs from that Ipod, and just uploaded the Itunes songs. Uploading the songs Via CD isn't an option any more as I moved quite a bit, so CD's are all scratched like mad. I still have all the CD songs left on one Ipod, and when connected to Itunes I have access to the CD songs. But can't transfer them over to my Library. I'm too scared to Sync it incase I lose all my CD songs forever. Help
The music sync is one way - computer to ipod. The only exception is ituens purchases. The ipod is not a backup device.
Copy everything from the old computer or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.
