Song info window is grayed out

I tried to put in another genre for my block of Allman Brothers songs and now when I try to pull up the song info window either individually or the whole set of songs again, it is grayed out and unaccessable. How can I regain access to this?
Also, does iTunes 5 allow more than one genre to be posted per artist so that their songs will show up in more than one listing?

I'll check the read only option, but did not change that initially.
Read Only isn't an iTunes thing, it's on your hard drive. It's a property of the file itself. Find the files, right click, select properties.

No, each song can only have one Genre assign to it. By assigning them your way, you defined a new Genre of "Rock, Southern Rock". That's one genre, not two separate ones.
Oh, and the Allman Brothers are Country.

Songs on iPod are grayed out and purchases in iTunes are missing

So my mom's having some trouble with iTunes-
When her 7th gen Nano is plugged into iTunes all of the songs on it are grayed out and unplayable. There are no icons or such that suggest that there is a problem.
She has 559 songs on her iPod that she purchased and downloaded with the same Apple ID that she still uses today, however iTunes says that she only purchased 179.
This problem must have started when the computer she uses was wiped and had Windows 7 re-installed, but this shouldn't affect the data associated with her Apple ID?
Is there anyway that the songs on her iPod can be transferred to her library? (after they're somehow ungrayed)

With manual transfer you drag the songs from your iTunes to the iPod. That's how manual works and has nothing to do with songs being "check marked".
However, this is an extremely risky option because when (and not if) there comes a time to restore your iPod, which is a very common fix for iPod problems, then all the music would be erased. If you no longer have the music in iTunes (or any other back up), then all that music would be lost.
What if the iPod were lost/stolen/needed repair? Again, the music would lost. I strongly recommend a back up, and if computer hard drive space is in short supply, you should seriously consider an external hard drive. They are not expensive, and the cost is well worth it when compared to the loss of all your precious music.
At the very least back up your music to either cd or dvd before deleting it, particularly any purchased music/videos, as this would have to be bought again if it were lost. See this.

After 10.6.7 supplemental update, the "More Info" button is grayed out

I performed the Supplemental Updater for the late 2010 Mac Book Air, and now the "More Info: Button on the About This Mac window stays grayed out. That can't be correct, but I don't see how to fix it.

No there is no "Systems Information" app in the Utilities Folder in the Applications Folder on the MacBook Air, and although "System Profiler" does appear in the Apple Menu when selected while option-clicking, nothing happens and no profile contents window appears. Is there a way to restore the Systems Information app? Can I copy it over from my main desktop running 10.6.7 or is there a version specific for the MacBook Air?

Are you talking about the modal panels mask??
If yes then you can check in firebug the modal panel css rich-mpnl-mask-div contain background-color greay.
If you need you can customise it and set it to transparent.

Why are some of my songs on my iphone grayed out after syncing to itunes on a new computer?

After syncing my IPhone to ITunes that I had just downloaded on the new pc I just bought, I noticed that there are several songs that are now "grayed out" on my phone and won't play. There are some songs that are just not on my phone anymore at all, but they are still in my ITunes library on my new pc. How can I get all the songs in my library on my phone and work?

What exactly happens when you try to redownload? Just how does it not let you?
Are you/iPod doing anything between when the songs were there and they were gone?
Does anybody else have access to your iPod?

Get Info iTunes items grayed out

I just recently transfered my iTunes library from a PC (running XP) to a Mac Mini. Some of the songs had artwork, while most did not.
When I access the library on the Mini and select a song using "Get Info," the tabs at the top of the window (Summary, Info, Video, Sorting, Options, Artwork) are only partially available to me. Video is grayed out (not surprising since it's an audio file). "Options" and "Artwork" are also grayed out. I have also tried to import album artwork but the box in the lower left hand corner says "not modifiable."
Not only that, if I click on "Info" I do not have the option to modify any of the song information. It won't let me delete or add to.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just a guess, but it could be a permissions problem. Navigate to your iTunes Music Folder thru the Finder, do Get Info (command + i) and see if you have Read and Write permissions on the folder AND click the button that says Details and make sure that Read and Write is Applied to the Enclosed Folders. You might also try repairing permissions in Disk Utility.
Also...do you have Admin privileges on your user account on the Mac?

Why already purchsed songs / albums are not grayed out but are available to purchase again?

Songs and albums that I have already purchased appear available to buy again. Even If I try to buy them (again) I get not notification that I have already purchased it before. I have reset all relative warnings in itunes account. Shouldn't they be grayed out? Latest itunes version, windows 7. thanks.

I've just bought an album, downloaded it, and now when I search for it it's there, available to buy again!

I got a new iPhone 5 and my itunes music will not sync properly. it will show up on the phone but it is light gray wording and they are not selected only a few songs work. The grayed out music just takes up space. Someone please help.

I am so relieved to hear that I am not the only one experiencing this! However, I am sorry to hear you are going through this as well. Lucky for me I am upgrading to a 5s which will be sent to me on Wednesday. ITunes 9.2 bug - Cover Flow flickers when browing through song info window

I am running iTunes 9.2.0.61 on Windows Vista 64-bit.
I am in my music library, and have the Cover Flow view enabled. If I select a song from my music library and go to "Get Info", I get another window that pops up showing me the details for that song. If I press the "Next" or "Previous" button in the Info window, the Cover Flow window flickers with every press. Every time I press one of those buttons, I briefly see either my Movies window or Apps window. It then returns to the normal Cover Flow view. It will only flicker when pressing one of those buttons. If I'm in Cover Flow and using the slider, it does not flicker.

yeah..i just hope this whole Coverflow problem,along with the ridiculously slow menu response is fixed b4 my 14 days return period is up, if not...this iPOD is going back and am going back to my iPod Photo!

Window-Extensions grayed-out

Since the last update I can't get to Adobe Exchange and other stuff under Window-Extensions tab as it is grayed-out for some reason. Any idea what's going on here?

Also, when you say my flash based panels won't work in cc2014 what does this mean, I can't use those panels at all, or there is a new way of working with them?

Access Connections - Use Windows Logon grayed out

I have seen multiple posts on this, but no solution. I am trying to configure acconn for PEAP, but in the user credential section, the Use Windows Logon is grayed out. I have tried reinstalling and checking off the box on the install, still no luck. Lenovo had me reload the laptop to factory, but that didnt help either.

Ok, are you logged on the system as having Admin privileged? If not, then you can't change the Global Settings.
I strongly suggest not deleting registry entries. mgtitchenell mostly had it right, but instead do this:
Go into Global Options in Access Connection, uncheck it, click OK and restart, then go back in and check it, click OK and restart.
After this - the option should no longer be grayed out.
If that doesn't work, then the problem mostly likely comes from some other GINA installed on the system that Access Connections doesn't recognize. Look back at the registry entry (HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon) and look for an entry that either has the word GINA mixed up in it, or that points to some file that end in .dll

When Firefox crashes, tabs aren't saved, and Recently Closed Tabs/Windows are grayed-out

Although I had "Show My Windows and Tabs from Last Time" set in Options, my tabs aren't being restored after a crash. I also had my Home Page set to my Yahoo Mail page upon opening a new session. I then changed my Home Page to a blank page, but that hasn't worked to restore my open tabs after a crash. To make matters worse, under History,Recently Closed Tabs and Recently Closed Windows stay gray, so I can't restore the open tabs from there, either.

Make sure that you not run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode.
In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working.
You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing".

Songs 'get info' tab is grayed out

I cannot change the titles/artists on multiple songs in my library. I can on others, though. How do I fix this?

I have the same issue - all fields are greyed out.
I seem to have had this in the past and fixed it, but cannot recall how.

Cannot delete songs from iPod Classic - grayed out in playlist

I'm ready to throw this thing out the window. I already had a shuffle, my daughter had a Nano and got a Classic for Christmas. iTunes seems to have no idea how to keep all this straight. When I plugged her new Classic in, it uploaded all of our songs, and (strangely), she doesn't want my songs. I just want to delete them from her Classic, but the songlist of what she has is all gray. I'm afraid to plug any other devices in because who knows what the **** it'll mess up. If only I could figure out how to contact Support.....

Create a new playlist.
Have her put all the music she wants in that playlist.
Plug in the ipod.
Click the Music tab.
Tick Sync music.
Tick Selected playlists.
Tick the playlist with her music, then click Apply.
When she wants to add or delete stuff from her iPod, add/remove it from that playlist, then plug in the iPod.
