Song lyrics won't update in iTunes

There's a persistent piece of text that is not willing to leave the lyrics on a certain album of mine. The lyrics do show up correctly for those songs that have lyrics, but for the instrumental songs where there are no lyrics, this piece of text always appears, even though i erase it from the lyrics tab. The same text also appears on ALL of the songs in the album on my iPhone 4S. I have tried several times deleting the songs and adding them back to the library and my iPhone, but it hasn't worked. I have also tried an extrenal ID3 tag editor, but that also didn't work. Is there any way to get my lyrics to update to the correct ones on my iPhone as well as to remove the piece of text appearing all over my instrumental songs.

I've got the same problem. Both in Windows and on my iBook... Both are running iTunes 4.7.1. I talked to a friend of mine and she's running 5.0.1 with no problems.
I did try "add album" and it shows up in my shopping cart, but the items i had in there before are also invisible. (The add to the total cost, but aren't listed in the song list.) Even empty is says the total cost is near $16, but i can't click on Buy.
I'm guessing they've decided to force us to upgrade to 6...

  • IPod Won't Update - Is iTunes 7 to blame?

I started having problems with my iPod's playback - skipping songs in a playlist and skipping to the next track before the end of the song - I then tried to add songs (and update calenders etc.) using iTunes 7 (having only just downloaded it) and then everything stopped working.
The iPod registered on the computer and in iTunes - the contents of the iPod appeared in ITunes too, but it refused to accept new songs - when I tried to add songs, iTunes said it was updating, but it froze on the second song and iTunes then crashed.
I have restored the iPod and reinstalled iTunes 7, but neither of them work - the iPod won't update and iTunes constantly crashes (particularly when playing and pausing songs). I tried downgrading to iTunes 6.0.5 - which works fine - but the iPod still would not update.
Are these problems due to iTunes 7 being rubbish or do I have a broken iPod?? Is there anything I can try??
I have also just realised my mistake in putting this question in the Fifth Generation iPod forum, as I don't have one. Apologies for that - I have an iPod with click wheel but I don't seem to be able to move the question!

  • Music Plays on iPod Touch won't update to iTunes 10.5

number of music plays on ipod touch won't update to itunes 10.5

Unfortunately, I do not have a solution to this problem; however, I am experiencing the same thing. However, my iPod Touch is new. It will not play any of the DRM-protected content that I purchased previously; however, it will allow me to purchase content with my Apple account, so it is certainly "authorized," as it were. I guess I will try to reset it, but I doubt it will work.

My computer won't update my itunes to be able to transfer it to my i pad... why?

You will need to Upgrade your OS from 10.5.8 to 10.6.8 = Snow Leopard.
It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.
    Do this first...
Check that your Mac meets the System Requirements for Snow Leopard...
    Snow Leopard Tech Specs
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If so... Purchase a Snow Leopard Install Disc...

    Other countries...

After the Successful Install, run Software Update to get the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

  • TS3274 Original iPad won't charge, won't update and iTunes won't recognize

I have one of the first generation iPads that won't charge unless it is completely drained of power.  Also if after it shuts off from 0% power ifr any reason it gets turned back on while plugged in, it stops charging and won't continue to charge until the device is completely drained again. Also iTunes won't recognize the device AND it is operating under iOS 5.1.1 and says the software is up to date and won't update at all.  I have tried different plugs, different computers, nothing works.  Is my iPad just too old?

The failure to update isn't an issue. The iPad one is maxed out at 5.1.1.
The other issues may be an issue with the battery, or charging port or software inside. You may want to make an appointment to get it checked out, but even if what's broken is a manufacturer's defect you're outside of any warranty so the most you'll get is the offer of an out of warranty replacement for a fee. might ultimately be cheaper to put that money towards a new device.
Have you tried to give your iPad a reset? Hold down the sleep and home keys until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if that helps.

  • Song list won't update

When I delete or add music to my Pre, the song list will not update.  The software keeps the list of songs from my last sync of ITunes, when it was compatible, but now will not show anything new, nor will it remove the songs that have been deleted.
I have tried the drag and drop to the music file as suggested, but those songs do not appear to be on my phone to be played. So a little help please on an effective way to update this songlist so I can hear what I have added and remove what I deleted.
    Thanks

    Hello and welcome to the forums;
I would try syncing all of your USB data back to your PC, then try the Erase USB Drive under Device Info. There may be something left over from iTunes that is not clearing out the space available or the songlist. If that doesn't solve the problem, the next thing I would try would be a Full Erase.
While the webOS Doctor is the last step after an erase, I doubt that step will be needed in this case. If it is though, you can find it here: www.palm.com/rom
    Hope this helps,

  • Can't use mouse to double click song playback w/latest update of iTunes?

Downloaded latest update of iTunes and now I can not double click a song for playback...What's going on? Is anyone else experiencing this?

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below."
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • My ipod won't update through ITunes

Ok, I am working on a Dell right now. I have tried EVERYTHING possible right now to get this new ipod to update using Itunes.
I have installed and reinstalled Itunes from Apple.com and using the CD which came with the ipod.
I have installed and reinstalled the ipod updater as well.
Yet, when I plug my ipod into the computer, nothing happens.
The computer recognizes that something has been plugged into the USB port, yet ITunes won't recognize that an ipod has been plugged in.
    Any suggestions
    thanks

if u've done all that installing and uninstalling. its probably that the USB connection in your ipod is not functioning well.
u could try using another usb device and plug into your laptop, if it works well, its probably your ipod that has e problem.
bring it down to exchange it if u still hav warranty =p

  • My podcast feed won't update on iTunes. Why? And what can I do to fix?

I do a weekly podcast and hasn't updated since Sept 21st for whatever reason. Even though the rss feed shows the new episode with the enclosure link, it's not updated on iTunes. I use libsyn.com to upload the audio files and then use the enclosure links they supply me with to put on a small blog post in blogger. I then send the blogger RSS feed to send to iTunes, which has worked for 31 episodes... until now, when I've tried to upload episode 32.
The blogger feed I use in feedburner is: http://muaythaiguypodcast.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default?=rss
The feedburner feed I send to iTunes is: http://feeds.feedburner.com/lfqKK
I tried changing the feedburner feed, but that didn't do anything. I'm also in the process of redesigning my website using wordpress, and have thought about using powerpress to keep the podcast updated. Would that be a good idea?
Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

You have sent iTunes to the wrong feed URL. There is a feed at the URL you quote, but your iTunes Store page, which is at
    https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/muay-thai-guy-podcast/id636798781
is looking for a feed at
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/lfqKK
There is no file at that address. So now you have painted yourself into a corner. I would guess that you aren't able to get a feed up at that Feedburner address? If you can, then you need to add the 'new-feed-url' tag to (or the original feed) as described here:
    http://www.wilmut.webspace.virginmedia.com/notes/podcast.html#move
If you are unable to do that your only option (other than abandoning the podcast page and re-submitting as entirely new podcast) is to email Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com and ask them to change the Store to the correct URL - give them the URL of the Store page and both feed URLs. I can't guarantee they will do this, but it's quite possible and would solve your problem.
If you do have to resubmit, you will have to change the title slightly or you will be told the feed has already been submitted.

  • "Last Played" won't update on iTunes-purchased songs

I've had great joy using the variable "Least Recently Played" to create Smart Playlists. But certain things are not updating properly now, with 10.5.3.3
    Here's the table:
Ripped Music, iPod Touch Gen 3:  UPDATES PROPERLY.
Ripped Music, played in Win7 iTunes, UPDATES PROPERLY
Purchased Music, iPod Touch Gen 3:  DOESN'T UPDATE
Purchased Music, played in Win7 iTunes:  UPDATES PROPERLY.
I haven't done a full-blown matrix of experimentation of the whole library, but  the one album I noticed it from is Wow 2012 Hits.
I've seen some discussion of similar problems, but not to this fine detail.  Thanks for listening.
I also noted that iTunes isn't updating video podcasts correctly.

With more testing, it turns out to be just Wow Hits 2012.   All my other iTunes-Store-purchased music is updating properly.

  • IPOD won't update from iTunes

Jeez, I thought that iTunes/iPOD would be pretty simple; move music from here to there. I have been using for over a year with no problem, but within the latest couple of upgrades to iTunes, my iPOD will no longer update correctly. I have spent over 6 hours trying to figure this crap out, and it still won't work. YEAH, I have the latest Updater/iPOD software installed, and the latest iTunes. Plug in my iPOD, and it says its updating, and I can see the new music on the iPOD from iTunes, but its NOT ON MY IPOD when I unplug and try and play. The other day I formatted the dang thing, and spent five hours moving music; next day added two additional songs to the library, and they will not move to the iPOD. Have tried moving manually, but they still will not play on the iPOD.
What kind of crap are you giving us??? If iTunes/iPOD won't do what its supposed to do (move music from here to there), then I don't want to mess around with it. If you can't move my music properly, why would I put my Contacts/Calendars on this device?
Support: Forget about it! Post a message in a Discussion Group and hope for the best. Forget about actually calling someone and asking for help, even though you paid top dollar for your 30gb iPOD. I'm starting to look for some fool to buy it and let them deal with it. Oh Yeah, by the way, the screen is scratched even though I bought a PROTECTIVE case for it.
Several people in our office were interested in purchasing an iPOD, iShuffle and I have convinced them to look elsewhere.
Two people in our office recently purchased iShuffles that did not work...

  • IPod playlists won't update with iTunes 6

I just downloaded iTunes 6, and when I connected my iPod, it basically erased the 1,000 songs I had on it and "updated" my playlist/iPod with a random 450 songs. I got an error message saying that not all of my playlists could be updated because my software is too old. But I have the newest software...help is greatly appreciated!!

    hi Cathleen!
    The updater is 2004-04-28.
Kathy's giving you good advice. there's a few extra details on how to go about updating your ipod software given in here:
