Song not marked as explicit

I was listening to some of my child's music and I heard cuss words in it but it was not marked as explicit. I was concerned because my child has almost 10 hours worth of music what can I do about this. Besides go though every one to check that there are not any more like this

There really isn't anything else you can do. The clean/explicit labels are provided to Apple by the record labels. Some tracks aren't labeled at all. Sadly, much of the world has "cuss" words in it. It may be time to explain to your child that there are people in the world who use language you find unacceptable? Or, you could listen to all of your child's music....

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Where exactly are you looking and what do they look like, there are several iCloud icons used in iTunes.

  • Purchased song not marked as purchased

I purchased an album,  Slipstream, Bonnie Raitt, and one of the songs failed download 3 times, got a file corruption error. On 4th attempt it downloaded successfully but it is now marked as an ACC Audio File.  The rest of the songs are marked as Purchased ACC Audio file.  When I try to play the song  iTunes says my computer is not authorized and it needs to be.  All other songs from the album play fine.  What do I do now?

Sort your iTunes library by Date Added, and look for the track in today's date. Double-click and see if it plays. If so, it is there somewhere, and you can find it by right-click > Show in Explorer.

  • Itunes is not marking some songs as "Purchased".

I have purchased multiple songs on itunes and some of them tend to not get marked as purchased in the store. A few of them can be played from the store but if you click it, it still shows the price and not that its purchased. One of the songs doesn't even have the play button in itunes, it just shows the price when i already purchased it, it shows up in my itunes purchased list on my computer as well as its in my phones purchase playlist but in itunes it doesnt have it as purchased. I know i still have the songs but it kinda bothers me that they are not marked as purchased.
Does nayone know any solutions for this? Thank you for reading and taking time to help.

That is not a bug, it's simply the way it works.
If you listen to something on your iPhone, the iOS makes a note of that fact, by adding a 1 to the play count. When you Sync the iPhone with your iTunes Library, the iPhone and iTunes "talk to each other" and iTunes makes a note that you have listened to something (on the phone) that is in its Library. This includes marking that Podcast as played.
However, even though you know you're listening to the same episode of that Podcast via streaming, it is not possible for either the phone or iTunes to know that. That's why you're smarter than the machines!
The only "fix" is (possibly), to remove something from the phone so that there is room for the Podcast.

  • Songs not showing up in Artists section

A few artists of mine will not show up in the Artists section of the iPod, but their albums will show up in the Albums section. When I play the album, the artist is displayed correctly on the Now Playing screen. How can I correct this so that the songs are visible in both the Artists and the Albums sections?

This isn't foolproof but there are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song is marked as part of a compilation or 2) it is missing an album name.
If the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Compilations are stored in a separate folder in iTunes so the songs don't appear inside the normal Artist>Album folder which may be why this happens.
Also if tracks are missing an Album name in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances but the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous in place of a title. • Songs Not Showing Up Under Artists

So ive put my entire iTunes music library onto my brand new 5th generation Ipod, yet a bunch of my songs arent listed under their appropriate artist. For example, i have a bunch of ACDC songs on my iTunes that are all labelled "ACDC" under Artists with the exact same spelling....yet only one song shows up under ACDC on my iPod. I know that the rest of the songs are on my Ipod because i can reach them by scrolling through by song name, but I'd like them to show up under their appropriate artist too. Any suggestions?

  • Songs not showing up in each category

I've just purchased my first iPod and I'm having some difficulties when I update the ipod with new music. I've filled out all of the information about the song (artist, album, genre, etc...) but for example, if I go to a particular artist all of their songs do not show up in that category. I've double checked each song on iTunes and the information about the song is correct... Help!

  • Missing Song End Marker?!

I want to record a long mix into logic, but for some reason I am missing the "song end marker" from my transport window.....I just noticed it now.
Does anybody has any idea how can I get back that function?
Do you think my software is faulty or I just set something up wrong?
    Please help if you can!!
It is kind of vital and urgent to get this thing working.
    Thanx

You don't say what version of Logic you are using, but I'm guessing:
You know that in 7.2 it was moved, so it's in a slightly different place in the transport window..?
See the 7.2 update notes for the docs on this.

  • Songs not listed by artist

    Hi
I have synced my entire music collection, most of which consists of mp3s ripped from my CD library, onto my 2 week old ipod 30gb with video. I noticed a few days ago that some of the songs from one album weren't listed under the 'by artist' section. It now seems that there are a fair number of songs that are also missing from under their respective artist on the ipod.
The strange part of it is that I know the songs are on the ipod — I can get them to play by making a playlist in itunes and transferring that over. The ipod also reads the correct artist and title tags for the song once it's in the playlist.
I'd much appreciate it if anyone can help me get the songs to appear under the artist list as this is my prefered way of finding my songs.
    Thanks
    Greg

  • Purchased songs wrongly shown as Explicit after restore from backup

I just had a computer crash, bought a new MacBook, and restored my music library from backup. Everything seems to be fine, except that an album of new age music without lyrics, purchased some time ago from the Music Store, is now being labelled Explicit. (It was fine before the crash.) Is there any way I can fix this and remove the erroneous Explicit labels? The songs play fine and are otherwise okay.

Thanks - that did it. They are not listed as Explicit in the music store. Very odd. But I didn't realize there was a general preference; I was trying to change the settings for the individual songs.

  • Songs Not Completely Playing

Hello.  I recently copied my itunes library to a new laptop (HP).  I'm having problems with some of the songs not playing completely.  these songs stop after 2:15 of playing and it goes onto the next song and the same thing happens.  anyone heard of this? thx.

I've just updated itunes on Windows, thought they might have solved the problem.... They didn't.
Some songs keep cutting off at the 2.37 mark around there.....
Otherwise all songs are fully playable on VLC and windows media.
What is it? the coding or LAME??
I see this problem has been around for some time without any help from Apple/iTunes to fix and a simple fix at that.....
I shouldn't have to delve into the computer system to find this and alter that.. A simple fix is what needed here.

  • Why would all songs not 'share'?

I have set up home sharing on 2 computers but there are not the same # of songs showing from my main library on the secondary computer. Why would some songs not 'share'?

    Hello there, Tony.
When trying to group various tracks into compilations albums, the following Knowledge Base article provides the steps on how to acomplish that:
Why aren't songs with the same album art grouped together? - Apple Support
    Albums with various artists
Some albums include songs from multiple artists. Because of this iTunes may display them as separate album as shown below:
You can mark these songs as a compilation in iTunes. In iTunes 8 and later, you find the option to mark multiple items as "Part of a compilation" in the Options tab of the Multiple Item Information window.
To do this in iTunes 7, select all the songs that you want to be included in the compilation and select Get Info from the file menu and select Yes in the Compilation menu as shown below. After clicking OK iTunes will group all the selected songs together.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

    Lori,
If you upgrade to iTunes 10.3, you can redownload your past purchases from the iCloud.  Just go to the home page of the iTunes Store and click on "Purchased" under "Quick Links."  It will bring up a list of your past purchases that are not currently in your library, with a little arrow icon that lets you download.
