Song order reverses by default and then plays reversed

Hello,
I'm using itunes 8.0.2.20 and since updating to 8 I am having an issue where the tracks of all albums list in descending order not ascending by default. I can easily correct this obviously by clicking on the column header however the problem gets worse from there...
Despite reordering in ascending it then plays the album backwards. So I reorder, play track 1 and then it ends the album after that. If I select track 2, it moves next to track 1 etc. I must say though it is not consistent and usually fixes with time.
I have tried uninstalling itunes and reinstalling and didn't fix it. This is a weird problem and hopefully someone has come across this or knows something about it.

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

After you connect the iPhone to your Mac launch iTunes.
Select the iPhone under Devices left side of the iTunes window.
Select the Music tab from the menu.
Make your selections for the songs you want synced the click the Sync button bottom right side of the iTunes window.

I have seen lots of old posts which go on about converting files but am wondering wherher at the current time with the latest versions of itunes and apple tv whether this should by now be a virtual play out of the box solution.
I have tried connecting my atv to the amp by optical cable but that didnt produce anything better and am assuming that a hdmi cable should be able to reproduce everything an optical cable does.
Is this something I should be able to achieve without having to recode the files?
Tracks are imported to itunes as apple lossless, have tried setting the atv audio settings to auto and 16 bit, neither works yet I was told some time ago by an apple rep that the atv shoud be able to handle any type of audio as it just passes it to the amp to decode. I am not stupid but not that technical when it comes to audio and bitrates etc so any explaination would be appreciated.

Willy, the procdedure you describe works perfectly for AppleTV G1. In fact, I frequently play DTS music discs ripped to my iTunes library as Apple Lossless (ALAC) and synched to the ATV. What happens is that, as far as iTunes and the ATV are concerned, a conventional stereo 16/44 audio file is being played; however my reciever detects the DTS data stream, and instead of outputting static, it decodes the 5.1 channels correctly. This process parallels the way DTS discs were designed to be played back: a conventional CD player is connceted, via digital out, to a DTS-aware reciever/pre-amp and the two channels of static are recognized as 6 channels of DTS-encoded audio.
However this process will only work if the player (CD, ATV, PC, etc.) sends a "bit-perfect" 16 bit/44.1 khz data stream to the decoding device. In the case of ATV G2 and G3, as has been discussed elsewhere, the unit resmaples all audio - including 16/44 PCM (Redbook CD) - to 16/48. While this is not a big deal for conventional audio CDs, MP3s, and AAC files, it mangles the fragile DTS datastream and renders it undecodable. The resulting static that you hear is just like the static you would hear if you played a DTS CD on a non-DTS capable system.
Sadly, I'm not aware of any easy way around this. You could use a program like Foobar (and the DTS plugin) to convert your DTS CDs to 6-ch .wav or .flac file. From there you could transcode the file to AC-3 and then mux it into a video container that ATV supports. You may need add a dummy video track, for iTunes/AppleTV to be ok with the file, though I'm not sure. This may be a lot of work.
Sorry for the bad news. I wish that the iTunes/ATV ecosystem had better multi-channel audio support.

2) I couldn't see anything enabled in Service Tab in Order Lines, its grayed out. Is there any set up/profile option to get it enabled?

Thanks for your promt response.
Let me explain you what I did.
1) I have booked a Bill Only sales order which has one order line, mentioned it as Service Item and provided the same details in Service Tab in Order lines. Now Line status is "Fulfilled"
2) Then Submitted Workflow Back Ground Process for OM Order Lines and it has created an AR Invoice and closed the line
3) And then submitted "Service Contracts Order Capture Integration Program" from SErvice Contracts Responsibility and it completed normal.
4) Now I went in to Launch Contracts Window and queried with the sales order but couldn't see any contract created
5) Then I went in to Reprocess Order Window and found this order shows an error message as "Referenced Product not present in the Installed Base", then I tried to reprocessed it, but the same error message again.
Here I have few doubts:
1) Are the AR invoice and Service Contract Billing Invoices same?
2) In above scenario AR Invoice has been created, I would like to do the billing from SErvice Contracts and need to create an Invoice in AR? how can I do that?
because as you explained in one of my questions earlier, A Single Invoice can be created for the whole duration of the contract. I want to do that and trying for the same.
3) Regarding the above error message, how can I resolve it and create the service contract against that Order?

Is it possible to embedding a video in Keynote and then play as a PDF? I want to do a PowerPoint/Keynote presentation that includes videos from YouTube. My preference is use Keynote although I do have Office 2004.
My issue is that the places where we present have their own equipment so we are encouraged to bring the presentation on a USB/portable HD, and they tend to be Windows environments.
In my perfect (ignorant) world, I'd

Add/embed videos from YouTube
Save it as a multi platform file like a PDF
I guess the key issue is:
Is there a way to create a multi platform presentation with videos (I think Keynote and PPT require different video formats???) that can be carried on USB/portable HD?

No, it's not possible without using hacks. And Adobe can't support or endorse hacks
Bear in mind that not only there are new features in a new version which can't possibly be recreated by an older version - also, there are enhancements to existing features, which would make them render differently in the two versions.
That said, there are people posting such hacks, as Sébastien pointed out.

You are attempting to do this in a very difficult manner. Why not simply get an AppleTV ($75 refurbished from Apple) and you can share all your iPhoto content on your TV. That would be much easier than exporting to a CD/DVD, loading it into a player and then playing from a DVD. Apple tells about setting up Home Sharing in http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4352.

Is this a minimum information puzzle? It is difficult to diagnose a problem long distance when you provide little or no information regarding what actions you are actually taking to export the data or which version of iPhoto you are using. Based on your latest description of how it doesn't work, my best guess is that you are exporting a single frame from your video clip rather than the "Original" file. This is easily checked by opening the file in QT and simply pressing the left/right arrow keys. If the file only contains a single frame, then your export work flow is at fault. Please select the "File > Original" (or similar) option in the export menu to export the entire file in whatever version of iPhoto you are using..

When you say "could not be opened"- what are you referring to? A double click of the mouse should view the clicked image in Loupe view- the same as pressing [E] on the keyboard for an enlarged view. (And a second double-click will take you back to library grid view.)
To "open" an image in the Development module requires you to select the image then press [D] or click on the [Develop] button.
When you say "could not be ...moved" -what are you referring to? Are you trying to move an image file from its place in a folder to another folder? Are you just wanting it in a collection? When you drag an image to a collection you are only placing a link to the image in the collection- not actually moving any file. The image will stay exactly where it is in its original folder and will remain as a thumbnail preview in the Library Grid view.
Are you having any "mouse" problems that may be changing its actions in LR ?
Do you see an exclamation mark on any image borders ?

Transcoding and then playing the converted audio data

I want to convert a wav file (in form of a byte array) from one encoding to another using Processor, and then play the converted result (in form of a byte array).
On a high level, I know I need to create a PullBufferDataSource as input, create a Processor using Manager and the PullBufferDataSource, program the processor, get the output DataSource, which is of type RawBufferMux$RawBufferDataSource.
My question is:
a. How do I play the RawBufferDataSource object using a Player object? or I shouldn't end up with a RawBufferDataSource object?
b. I noticed that Player and Processor classes perform their operations using multiple threads. How do I know what operations are always done in a different thread? Is there any documentation regarding this?

Player pl = Manager.createPlayer(proc.getDataOutput());If that doesn't work, then you probably havn't set the format object of your input DataSource correctly.

Songs stay at 0:00 and wont play

I use my ipod often, and today when i tried to play it all of the songs stay at 0:00 and wont play. I tried resetting it with the menu and select keys, tried the self help "5 steps youd ever need" guide, and i've also tried restoring it and adding all the songs back onto it. Still no luck. I'm on xp pro, and ive never had any problems with my ipod before. Any input is appreciated!

I am getting that exact same problem. My 30gb ipod video worked completely fine yesterday, I had a lightning storm last night and my power went out. It didn't effect my ipod because it wasn't plugged into anything. But this morning, I tried to play a song and it would just skip right over it.
I noticed it was just the ones I bought on itunes. The songs I took from CD's work fine. I've tried plugging it into my computer and unplugging it. Nothing seems to work.
When I plug it in, every song plays normally. Its just when I unplug it and try to listen.

I solved a similar issue, where some songs in my itunes library would play to some random point and then skip to the next song. It started when I replaced my computer, so I copied over my library to my new computer and went through installing and importing on my new machine. When I noticed this behavior for random songs, here's what I found.
The affected files were .m4p files I'd purchased from the itunes store. This had nothing to do with activating them with my Apple account, which I did. The easiest way I found to identify the affected files was to view all your music in itunes, right click on any of the column headers, and select 'kind' so that column shows. Then order your music by the 'kind' column, and scroll down until you reach the songs where kind = 'Protected AAC audio file' (not to be confused with Purchased AAC audio file, which were unaffected in my case). Highlight just those 'Protected AAC audio file' songs, copy them, and paste them in some temporary directory. Back in itunes, now delete these hightlighted songs (I chose to keep the files rather than permanently delete them, but I think either would work).
Before adding these songs back to your library, if you want them pulled into your library directory rather than left in temp, make sure in Edit > Preferences > Advanced > check off Copy files to itunes media folder when adding to library.
Then in itunes, click File > Add file to library > browse to your temp directory > select all files > and click Open to add these files back to your library. After that, all my previously disfunctional files exhibited normal playback.
I hope you find this before you waste many hours on this like I did.

Songs in iPod App Open and Then Very Quickly Close - What's wrong?

This just started like a phantom disease. The only thing I've done recently was download some movie rentals. After that (coincidence or not), I've not been able to play any music in my library. Any play list, any song. Touch it, it opens and then immediately goes back to the play list or song list. I've searched all over the place and have not found a solution. Some suggest a restore, but those that have tried it, say it doesn't work.

Check to be sure that you don't have something that never totally downloaded - look in iTunes and in iBooks as well - not only in the app Store. A stalled or incomplete download in one of the stores can cause problems with downloads in the other stores.
You can try to reset your iTunes account by signing out of the account and then signing back in. Restart the iPad in between signing out and signing in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID-tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in.

Why are some of the songs I created in garageband and then pushed to itunes "ineligible for icloud"?

I create songs in garageband on my iMac, then "share" them to itunes. I purchased Itunes Match so that I could hear them on my iphone 5 (7.1.2), but some of the songs will not show up on my phone. When I checked them on the computer, it says, "This item is ineligible for icloud". Why not?

Aec, I'm have the same issue as well with mine. I deleted some music a few week back to give room for sum pics and movies and now that i want to restore them from off my itunes only 1 or 2 songs are actually able to play and the rest out of the albums are greyed out and non responsive. Have never had an issue like this b-4. Anyone have any insight or some problems? Thanks in advance.
