Song transfer to my Zen Mi

I downloaded a few songs from allofmp3.com. How do you transfer the songs to the Zen Micro?

Open Nomad Explorer.Cick on the sound folder.Copy the music you downloaded(right click and copy)Then paste it in the sound folder in Nomad Explorer(right click and paste) Now you can test it on the player. If you save the music in WMA format you can store alot more songs on the player. This is what I do,I hope it hel

I copy my CD's in windows media player.Using XP it saves the music in the My Music folder in your Documents folder.Right click on the folder and paste it in the Nomad Explorer sound folder.Every other CD saved I go back and delete the files saved in my music folder just to keep the hard dri've free.You must have the player connected to the PC in order to open Nomad Explorer. I own the Zen Touch 20gig and I have 300 tracks saved on it..about 50 CD's and they are all in WMA format insted of mp3.Hope that helped

Help regarding song transfer on the Zen Mi

I just got my Zen Micro today in the mail, and I have a very big problem. Whenever I try to transfer songs, I do it the normal way: through the explorer in my computer. But, whenever I try to transfer an album or an individual song, very rarely does it actually transfer, and simply fails. I've played around alot with this, and have managed to get a few songs on here (around 30 out of an attempted 300), but am still stumped on how to get my music on the player sucessfuly. Has anyone else experienced this problem, or can help me?

I've been playing around with the player a bit more, and I've discovered some new problems..
My Firmware is the factory preset one, and I cannot update it - it keeps telling me to reboot the device, I do it, and nothing changes, I still can't install it
I was able to add songs at one point. Then I used the player, I let it fully charge, and now I'm back to were I was.
The software I am using is the one included on the disk.
This is really beggining to bug me, and I'm contemplating sending this back, any suggestions?

What are you doing to try to transfer them and what error are you getting? There are probably a dozen possible reasons, so narrowing it down would be very helpful.

Songs transfer to a playlist instead of Itunes library

When I download a song, it automatically transfers to a playlist, and I can't burn or transfer those songs to other playlists. The icon beside the playlist that these songs transfer to is like the library icon, but it is dark blue. I think that I'll have to change a setting in my downloader (Limewire), but I've tried unsuccessfully. Help!!

Insert the stick into the USB port on your computer, and open it so it looks like a window.
Highlight the tracks you want in iTunes, and drag them to that window.
This procedure will put copies onto the stick without changing anything in your library.
(If you normally run iTunes in full-screen mode, make it smaller so that you can do the drag-n-drop.)

Play for Sure for the Zen Xtra slow song transf

Since I updated the firmware for the Zen 60gig xtra to support the Play For Sure encryption, it has very slow song transfers. I am trying to transfer about 4500 songs. It does the first 000 normal then it is like 5 mins for each one after that. So it takes like 4 days to transfer. Is there some kind of patch or driver change I need to make?

Just an update, transfer is still goin good, so all of you that are having those hangs and slow downs this 3 hot fixes posted in this forum under the MTP Thread seem to work for me. However, being a Regional IT Manager I know that what works for one computer doesnt always apply. I remember seeing the IMPORTANT Note just before I downloaded the firmware and I thought, naw... I dont need any updates, I do my Microsoft Updates so im cool, but the hotfixes mentioned are not CRITICAL updates so you have to manually apply them. In my opinion this is not really a Creative issue since they are depending on the files from the Play For Sure protocal and those are coming from Microsoft, so they have to kind of rely on whats out there and unfortunately for us poor *******s to update. I am wondering if they can include the hotfixes in their install? SOmething that would detect to see if the hotfix is present and if not, install? Just a thought, or at least prompt you to go get the hotfix first then install.

- Launch Creative MediaSource Oragnizer.
- Go to Tools->Settings->PC Music Library and click Properties. Set your preferred folder and file naming convention. Close the setting page.
- In the Sources window, click to view PC Music Library.
- Go to View->Right Panel View and select to view your MP3 player.
- Transfer the tracks from your MP3 player to MediaSource's PC Music Library by clicking the arrow pointing from right to left.
- If you have updated the track information of the tracks in your MP3 player, the updated track information will also be imported into the PC Music Library database. However, the tags of the files are not updated. Here is what you need to do. Right click the PC Music Library node in the Sources window or right click on any tracks in the PC Music Library window and select "Update Tag". This will update the tag of all the tracks or the selected tracks with the track information as seen in the PC Music Library.

It all depends on how big the file is. Asuming it's around 4 MB it should take about 0 seconds for that one song. I have USB . and sometimes it can be slow. Wish I had USB 2.0

Zen Micro. Song transfer prob

Okay this happened to me twice first time I thought it was a fluke but since its happened twice I thought I'd report it / see if anyone else has seen it.
My micro is pretty full. I have a couple very big audio book files like 400 meg each.
After I finish a track I delete it an put on the next track. When doing the transfer it looks like everything worked fine. But when I go to listen to my new audio book it seems like it never transfered the new file over. It puts me at a random place in some music or the previous book I deleted. The track is around 7 hours long and if I move around the track it sometimes switches to other stuff I deleted.
So it appears it reserved a spot on the disk for my new track but it never wrote over the old stuff.

Well I did have about 600 meg free and the book was 450 meg or so. So I had plenty of disk space. When I got home I deleted the "new" track and reloaded it...
No problem this time. It just seems weird this would happen and not give me any errors.
As far as updating goes I hate windows media player and will not ever use it. It seems like all of the updates either force you to use windows media player or the just change some of the graphics on the screen. Am I missing something?

Some songs transfer, some won't, no rhyme or reas

Likeit says, I recently traded uh... "up", from a Zen touch to a Zen Vision:M, they both seem to have thisweird, sometimes a track will transfer, sometimes it won't, and the GUI freezes up on the stuch transfer box. Only occasionally will it give them the grace of a error box with the "transfer could not be completed due to an unknown error" (for the Touch), and the new "...because of a thread exit or application request" for the visionThese are just files I've encoded myself no stings attached, files I've downloaded, and any other kind, and it seems the same. I don;t see why it keep choking on them. Once they're in there, they work fine, but I'm down to reansferring them one at a time, and praying each one works...
and once it's got into it's mind that it won;t take a file, no amount of renaming/retagging/RE ENCODING will make it change its mind. If I use format, it *might* take it. but I'm still playing the roulettewheel that it will or won;t with any given file.. Odd, they transfer to the player's data folder fine, just not into music
Any help?

let's just doublecheck some things quickly. do any of the affected songs play in itunes at the moment? if so, when you play them, do they ask to be authorised?
if so, does the authorisation go through successfully, or do you get an error message? (if you get an error message, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.)
if the authorisation seems to go through successfully, with the authorised songs sync to the ipod?

Format all: Transfer files from ZEN 2/4/8/16GB to PC and ba

Hi,
has any of you ever transferred the whole contents of the ZEN 2/4/8/6 GB to the PC, formatted the player and transferred everything back? As I still have that problem with .db and .txt files that I cannot delete on the player, customer service wrote that the only solution is to format the player.
When I switched from ZEN 4GB to 6GB I copied everything from the ZEN 4GB to the PC amd then from the PC to the ZEN 6GB. Doing this, I lost all my playlists as the songs were not recognized anymore within the playlists (even when being in the same sub-folders on the new ZEN). I don't want to start from scratch again...
It would be great to hear from you if you ever did that. Have all the playlists (created with ZEN software) and all the ID3 tag information been correct after the re-transfer? Is there something that I need to take care of?

OK. I thought that some of the mp3 file ID3 tags were not complete anymore after the re-transfer, but from the logical point of view I hope that this was a mistake. Still, there is the problem with the play lists. Is there any way to transfer them to the PC and back after the formatting without loosing their contents and validity? And is there anything else I need to take care of when doing this formatting procedure?

Unable to transfer music to Zen X

When I try to transfer music from a CD to my Zen Xtra (40gb) I receive an error message that reads "Unable to create file". Please restart player. I've done this several times and it still doesn't work. What should I do?

BhSorry it has taken so long to get back to this issue. ?I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit, if that matters. ?I was able to drag and drop but didn't get the album art I wanted as well. ?How do I tell it where to get the songs from so that it doesn't think it is just a place holder

N2G transfer problem with Zen Sl

I've had my Zen Sleek nearly a year now and have never encountered problems transferring tracks from Napster To Go until recently when I decided to format my player. Since then I am able to transfer approx 20 songs before I receive a number of error messages stating that my device is full (it's a 20 gig!), or I have no/or too many licenses, or I need to format the player. I have no problem transferring non-Napster tracks. I've downloaded all the patches, reinstalled all the programs involved in the process, and tried just about every suggestion I could find on this message board, and still I'm having this problem. Can someone please help? I'd hate to see ?200 go down the drain!

Are you using WinXP with WMP0 which support MTP?
If not, think you need to send back to Creative Care for service.
There is a driver and firmware in the web to convert to your ZEN sleek to MTP version, but your PC must support MTP st.
If you didn't execute reload firmware, I think the following driver will help:

You may try out see whether your PC will recognise it's
Then upgrade your firmware to MTP version in recovery mode:

But all your data in your ZEN Sleek will be lost...

Can't transfer music onto Zen Vision:M

I've had my Creative Zen Vision:M for a year and bought it secondhand. Recently I upgraded my computer to Ubuntu Netbook Remix 0.04, but now whenever I open up Rhythmbox or Gnomad2 with the device docked they close down seconds after loading. This means I can't transfer music onto it. Away from the computer it works fine - I can access all the different menus and sections. I've tried formatting, cleaning up and reinstalling the firmware (using another, Windows, computer), but nothing works. Is there anything else I can do to fix it's

if when you see the music as shown on your computer contains a dot next to the song/artist, it means that it has not yet successfully transferrred over, outside of your computer. Some questions to consider: what is the format of the music you are trying to import? are you running this most updated version of itunes/ipod on your comp.?

so then technically I can't transfer the songs off my ipod to my itunes library? since it is one 1 transfer from pc to ipod...correct? I have one of the older pink creative zen micro's and I want to delete all of my songs from it as most of them are really old and I want to put some new ones on there. However, I have recently got a new computer so lost my installation of the zen micro and I cannot find the disc for it so I cannot install it.
The only way I can find to delete them all is delete them all indivually but this is going to take ages. Is there a faster way to do so?

reformat all.in the recovery menuremove battery while off, hold power switch in on position, insert battery. continue to hold power switch til the menu with 4 options comes up. one is reformat. do NOT select reload firmware by accident.
