Songs and folders not listed in playlist MUVO TX

Hi everybody,
After trawling through 5 pages of posts, with no end in sight, and still not having found a post that would answer my question, I post it here and my apologies if this question has been asked and answered before.
I have a Muvo Tx Fm with 52MB, latest firmware .3.03
I have loaded 577 songs in 2 folders onto it (very close to 500MB), but when I switch it on and try to skip through the folders to the one I want to play, I find that only 5 folders are visible and some folders do not show every track that is in them.
I encountered this problem before and thought it might be related to the firmware, so I upgraded it to the version shown above. Everything was fine for a while, but now it has come back.
I copied all the files/folders from my Muvo onto my computer, then formatted the Muvo and put the original files/folders back on. Still the problem persists.
When I first noticed the problem, I discovered that the "missing" tracks would re-appear if I deleted some of the tracks that I could see in the playlist.
With my computer I verified that the tracks are indeed all there, and they are all tracks that can be played by the Muvo (WMA and MP3 formats without DRM).
Is there a limit to the number of folders the Muvo can handle? Previously I have known it to handle 3 folders in the root, now it shows only 5 of the 2 in the root.
Is there a limit to the number of files the Muvo can handle? This seems odd because I would expect that a player with 52MB would be able to handle as many files as you could reasonably expect to get on a 52Mb player.
What can I do to solve this problem? It seems pointless to load my player up with 500Mb worth of tracks, if I can play only a portion of them.

Thanks for that, Rhythman. I had a look at the tracks on my Muvo and unfortunately, most of the tracks have only the Title field of the ID3 tag filled in, not the other fields like author, album, etc. Some don't have any ID3 tag information at all, and only a handful of tracks have title, author, AND album info in the tag.
None of them use non-english or other weird characters, and none of them have licence restrictions.
I just deleted the content of one folder (some 48 tracks) and, after switching the Muvo off and on again, gained access to 3 more folders that were there all along of course.
This gives me a sneaky suspicion that the Muvo has a limit of around 52 entries in its playlist, something I would still like confirmation of from one of the forum's moderators, if possible. If this 52 entry limit is the cause, it would have been better if the folks at Creative had made mention of this in the user documentation, just to save us some confused head-scratching!
And if that is the case, how about a firmware upgrade that modifies the way a playlist is formed. Surely it is not necessary to load ALL track names at the same time? Load the names of all folders, and the names of all tracks IN THE CURRENT FOLDER ONLY. Then, when the last track in the current folder is played, scan in all the track names of the next folder. Simple, really. How about it, folks at Creative Labs?
Of course, my analysis could be wrong. I'd still like to hear if anyone else has encountered this problem and found a solution for it.

I ordered a ringtone that came as a song and did not appear in a position status to be added.  It did not show up but came purchased as a song and now asking me to add it to a playlist.  This is not what I wanted to do and I promptly follow the prompt to "Buy more options" to get what I thought was a ringtone.  Please help!

The ONLY place to buy a ready made ringtones is from the iphone itself from the itunes app, then "More">"Ringtones"
If you bought from your computer, then you need to create the ringtone.  You can create a ringtones from just about any song/sound file for free.
Google will find several ways to do this.

    Hello Jigz19,
It sounds like you are unable to play a couple of songs from your library becuase you get a message that the computer is unauthorized to play, but other content purchased that same day works without issue. I would verify that the affected songs were purchased with the same Apple ID first:
Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1920
    Open iTunes
Highlight one of the items you have purchased (You can find your purchases in your Purchases playlist).
    Choose File > Get Info.
    Click the Summary tab.
The Account Name area will list the account used to purchase the item. Unless you have changed accounts, this is your iTunes Store account name.
If so, then delete the songs:

  • How do I create a smart playlist of songs that are not in any playlist?

I have zillions of songs and many playlists to manage them. So how do I create a smart playlist that shows songs that are not in any playlist?
An easier answer would be " Playlist > is > None" but this option is not available.
    Any other creative solutions?
(...and a long list of "Playist > is not > Playlist AA" through "Playist > is not > Playlist ZQ" is not a manageable answer as my playlists are too dynamic for that. Such a playlist would always be broken.)

Maybe one of these will help:
This AppleScript will create a text file that will list the iTunes Library tracks which have not been assigned to any playlist.  http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=notinanyplaylist
This script searches your iTunes or iPod Library for tracks which have not been included in any Playlists and copies them to a new discrete Playlist.  http://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=notinanyplaylistplaylist

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • How to view songs that are not in any playlist

    I am using iTunes 6.04.
I want to be able to view songs in my Library that are not associated with ANY playlist. How can this be done? Please don't suggest to me upgrading to iTunes 7.02. (with every iTunes update, Apple makes is more difficult to do the things Apple doesn't want you to be able to do).
    Thanks
    Ben

Please be patient. If you don't get a reply within a few hours, obviously nobody passed by who knew the answer to your question.
After all we're just fellow users trying to help as these are user-to-user forums.
    I have an answer.
    Run one of these scripts:
Not In Any Playlist will create a text listing of songs that are not in any playlist.
Not In Any Playlist To Playlist will put songs that are not in any playlist into a new playlist.
    Hope this helps.

I downloaded the latest version of itunes and now my ipod nano won't sync.  The sync process appears to lock up on the 2nd song and will not continue to sync. I let it run all night the first time and it never went past the 2nd song.  I unchecked the 2nd song so a different song would be 2nd, no benefit; reset my ipod nano; shut down laptop and restarted a different time; shorted the number of songs to sync; all without benefit.

When you connect your ipod up to the computer. It should show the device, usually with the name of the device, in my case 'jordan's ipod'. This should be on the row which shows 'songs', 'albums' e.t.c on the far right. There when you click on it it should go to a different screen showing a picture of your ipod along with two buttons - Update and Restore. Click update and it should take a 2 mins while your ipod is updated to the latest version of Ios.
After updating te ipod see if there is a change in results.
PS: make sure the device is active while syncing so keep tapping the screen.
Sorry for any incorrect info, i have an ipod touch, but i've had experience with an ipod

  • Purchased songs and movies not visible on 2nd computer in Store

    Hi.
Purchased songs and movies not visible on 2nd computer in Store. To confirm I went to re-purchase and received message telling me it was already purchased. Heeeelllppp! <smile>

The purchased content will only be on the computer you actually downloaded it to unless you somehow move it to the other computer. You could burn content to a CD or DVD, use an external hard drive, a thumb drive, a network connection or, if you have one, an iPod.

  • Is it possible to download a song and have it on a playlist but not in your music library?

I am trying to put downloaded music on another persons phone but the music I download for them I DO NOT want it in my music library. Is there a way I could have the music in a playlist and still NOT show on my music library?

You need to consider making an iTunes library for your little sister. On Windows you would create a new user account specifically for her. Login & connect her iPhone to iTunes in that new user account. It will to allow the music to be copied onto her device.
The only other way to get music into the Music app on the iPhone is to purchase it from the iTunes store - which you do not want to do since you are downloading it already.
You could connect her iPhone to your iTunes on the PC but that starts to get messy, especially since you already said you didn't want her music in your library.
Keeping them separate should be better in the long run, you could move her files to another computer as she gets older etc. She can also use that iTunes library to backup her device - which is generally a good idea

  • I'm trying to make more room on my phone by deleting most of my songs and just keeping a few playlists.

But when i try to sync my phone in itunes it won't let me because i don't have enough storage left on my iphone 5!!!
How do i get around this catch 22? My son has a similar problem with his iphone4, except that he deleted everything off his phone (photos and songs) and still doesnt have enough room to take a picture!
Thanks, any help would be appreciated.

Deleting a playlist will not remove the songs and make any space on your phone.  It sounds like you have iTunes match enabled, meaning that your playlists are synch'd across all of your devices.  If you deleted the playlist it is gone and you will have to build it again. the only way to free up music space on the iPhone is to delete the songs themselves from the songs list.

  • Why are Apple Mail and Addressbook not listed?

In Support, neither Apple Mail nor Addressbook are listed on OS apps. And if you go to Feedback > Product Feedback, there are 31 apps listed, but Apple Mail and Addressbook are not listed there either. Mac OS X is, so you need to use that for these apps.
But I think the lack of listing is not so bad, but is indicative that Apple doesn't seem to embrace these apps the way it does it's other OSX built in apps. They are basically good apps. I use them as my default apps along with iCal in order to always be in sync with the latest OSX release/update. I used to use 3rd party PIM apps but then had to always wait until they released their update to be in sync with the latest Apple OS. After awhile I realized the smarter approach was to use Apple's software as much as possible since they will be designed to work with the latest OS upon the release of the latest OS.
But the built in apps: iCal, Addressbook and Apple Mail, while sufficient, are not full featured robust apps like their 3rd party competitors. I have to assume some this is financial since they are included in the OS where as 3rd party apps cost $40 and up, plus upgrade costs after a certain cycle lifespan.
Personally, I never want to use a calendar, contact manager or email 3rd party clent again so that I am fully in the Apple family with hardware and software all made to work together.
If the reason these type apps are not more robust is because Steven didn't feel we needed more, or because there are only so much design and programmng resources Apple can apply to essentially "free" apps, I would welcome a paid for "Pro" version of these apps to pay for more features.
Example: while iCal and Addressbook sync with all your devices, Apple Mail doesn't. Now that I have a new 2nd computer (MBP), I would REALLY love it if all my folders on the left column were identical on both my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro.
There are other feature requests I would make, and bet you would too.
I hope this is helpful to all and to Apple in terms of making their indigenous apps more robust for us, listing them in the OSX apps list in Support and Feedback and embrace them as signature Apple apps fully supported, developed and proud of.
    Just my opinion.
    Steven

Example: while iCal and Addressbook sync with all your devices, Apple Mail doesn't. Now that I have a new 2nd computer (MBP), I would REALLY love it if all my folders on the left column were identical on both my Mac Pro and MacBook Pro.
My Mail syncs, I don't know why yours doesn't. All the folders on the left of my Mail App are identical on all of my Macs and my iPhone.
In Support, neither Apple Mail nor Addressbook are listed on OS apps.
Granted, Contacts (No longer AddressBook) is not listed.

  • Sync only checked song and videos - not working

On my iTouch, the only way I can get music on it is manually or through a playlist. The "Sync only checked song and videos" will not work. Am I doing something wrong?

Under the 'Music' tab (when you connect the iPT, and under the 'Devices'), make sure that 'Sync all Music' is selected, not the 'Sync playlists' option.
