Songs are in my iphone but will not play
Songs purchased on my iPhone will not play. They appear on my itunes list and in my iphone play list. They were once working fine but they are now not playing. Some of them will play but not others. All purchased from itunes.
Try restarting the phone.

ITunes imports songs from an audio CD, but will not play them. Why?
90% of my iTunes music library has come from importing old audio CDs into iTunes. I haven't imported any in a while, but I recently imported an audio album, iTunes recognized the artist and songs, imported into the library bu if I select one in iTunes for playing, it will not play.
The other song's in the library all still play fine so iTunes is working correctly. But the newly imported CD will not play. Seems very strange it recognizes the CD and imports it but will not play. No error, no message, no nothing. What gives?
Thanks.I think the blue text means that Windows compressed the files when it did a disk cleanup or something. I might be wrong, because I haven't used that disk cleanup feautre in ages - it did things I didn't want it to do.
So google around and find out how to uncompress one, and see if it plays. -
HT204074 I see a song in my purchased folder but will not play on iphone after it is synced
I see a song that I purchased from itunes store and is in my purchased folder but will not sync to my phone. it has a greyed out hollow circle next to it and it will not play on phone.
In your summary page scroll all the way down to the bottom and make sure "sync only checked songs and vidoes" is NOT checked. Then go to your music tab to the right of the summary and uncheck music> apply> sync> Re-check sync music> apply> sync.

Songs show up on ipod but will not play
i have downloaded over 400 songs from the itunes store, these songs all show up on the ipod. when i select a song to be played it will not play. it just skips to the next song in order, and the next, and the next, etc etc etc...however all the songs are on my computer and play fine on my laptop. HELP SOMEONE PLEASE!

Why did a cd i bought show up on my iphone but will not play
I bought some cds on iTunes. I had my phone plugged into my computer charging. I have no yet synced my iphone with my new computer so it was just charging. When I went to play music off of my phone later I noticed that the music I had purchased was on my phone but I could not play it. How can I play it?

Music Is on my Iphone but will not play.
I have an Iphone 4, updated to IOS 7.0.4
My music syncs to my phone and i can clearly see it but it wont play it just flicks through every song.
Please HelpSame problem. iOS 7.0.4 and iPhone 4S with approx 100 CDs synced, and I have found 2 CD that flick through all the songs without playing any of them. Was going to try deleting them from my phone and resyncing them, but can't figure that out either.

My Iphone 4s stopped playing a majority of my songs after i tried to sync a cd to my phone through itunes. The songs will open but will not play. They remain at zero. They appear to be grey on the list instead of the usual black font color and they have dotted grey circles in front of them when they are opened in my itunes account under the phone. In the phone's song list they are also grey, with red boxes within a circle behind their titles. In my general itunes music library the songs play perfectly fine. It is only under my phone that i am having issues. can anyone tell me why; or how to correct the problem?
Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

After a while it tells then me that it cannot verify my email address because of a network connection ("Could not verify the email address. Please check your network connection and try again. ")

I have songs in my iTunes Application that will not play. I keeps saying that this computer is not authourized to play name of song would you like to authourize it. The problem is its the old account I had and that has been changed. How am I going to authorize these songs when this account no longer exists.
I posted about this yesterday -- it happened to me, and the solution was incredibly simple. An Apple tech guy had me delete my SC Info Folder, located on my XP in Application Data.

Update!
This is what I did to fix both the skipping songs problem and the iPod verifying forever & not able to restore problem (because of iTunes 9):
a) I used Disk Utility to reformat my iPod while in Disk Mode using the instructions here:

b) Do not unplug your iPod after reformatting (mine showed up as a firewire disk) - simply launch iTunes ( I went back to 8.2) and follow the Restore instructions here:

iPod is recognized, syncs and doesn't skip songs anymore after that miserable experience with iTunes 9!!! -
iTunes says computer not authorized. When I try to authorize computer it says it is already authorized but will not play song. Note. Library was moved from PC to MAC. I am signed in to Itunes with the Apple ID created on the old computer which is different than the Apple ID used to set up the MAC.
I'm experiencing the same thing under iTunes 11.1.1:
iTunes says the computer is not authorized, prompts me to authorize
I enter my credentials, iTunes says computer is already authorized
When I attempt to play song, iTunes starts at bullet point 1 above over again.
My attempted fixes:
I tried everything in this support document, to no avail: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389 (Note: I cannot find a SC Info folder on my Mac)
Deauthorize and then reauthorize computer
Delete song and try to redownload from iTunes store - there's only a button that says 'purchased' with no option to redownload it
Note: I am using only one iTunes account, and I double checked the song info - I'm authorizing the correct account - 12 songs from the same album purchased at the same time play fine. As does the song in question - from the finder. Only iTunes stubbornly refuses to play it.
The most odd thing is that iTunes music is DRM free - the song in question was purchased only a few months ago. Thus there's no need to authorize the computer to play it.
I was hoping that iTunes 11.1.1 would cure it - no dice. -
My computer is authorized, but will not play a song I just purchased. It says this computer need to be authorized. So, I type in my user name and ID, and it replies this computer is already authorized.
Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.

hi, my brand new iphone 4 will not play music through my music app but it will play videos through youtube and will play the sounds throught my games and will play text tones and facetime ect. what is wrong?
At least I'm not the only one with the issue. I was looking it up so see if others had the same problem and found a bunch of posts about it. I'm assuming it's not the phone then, it's the software. Should I bring it to the Apple Store? Replacing the phone seems stupid, because the phone isn't really the problem. It's the software! Maybe the iOS 5.0.2 will fix it??? I don't really want to wait though, it's a pain. If a lot of people have this issue it should get Apple's attention. They need to do something to fix it, ASAP!
