Songs disappear without connecting to computer
Help...I was using my IPS today and paused the playback when I got up from my desk for a meeting. I came back 30 minutes later and all my songs are gone. Battery is charged (green). IPS was not connected to laptop, so this doesn't appear to be an iTunes import/export issue...I don't think...but I have to go and add everything back again. If I have to re-import all my songs every month, what's the use?
Please help, this is the second time this has happened. The first time all but 15 songs disappeared. This time they're all gone.

What you mean is that you want to "Restore" it. You can't restore the iPod without first connecting the iPod to your computer and iTunes: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

the only computer i have access to, i am unable to connect the iphone to. there are only 2 usb ports on it and they are both broken. i have looked into many other options to try and get this resolved, but without getting a new computer, i can't. is there a way to do the update over wifi or something? thanks!

Ipod multiplies my radiohead songs everytime i connect to computer
after buying radiohead's new album off their website, everytime i connect my ipod to my computer, it doubles my radiohead songs. so now my ipod looks like this:

the Ramones
so basically everytime i connect, my ipod creates another radiohead slot and adds the same 50 songs to my ipod.
in my library music and in my ipod music headings, radiohead is only listed once but my ipod has them down 4 times. i have no idea how to fix this.That's even weirder than my problem. itunes won't let me import the new ablum at all. Here's my thread: (don't know if this will work)

Had 1800 songs on ipod, connected to computer and all songs are deleted??
I had 1800 songs on my ipod, a friend downloaded them onto it for me. I was installing the itunes disc and plugged the ipod into the computer at the same time and now can not find the songs anywhere... Where did they go, I thought if they weren't on the ipod anymore that they've got to be on my computer somewhere, but I can not find any of them. If anyone knows what I've done please help...

Actually, copying music from your friends really falls under Fair Use.
If you apply the four fair use tests:
1. the purpose and character of the use is not for profit (for)
2. the work is published, but creative (against)
3. the amount is probably only certain songs off the album (for)
4. the effect on the market is small (person to person copying is considered to be a minimal effect on the marketplace, whereas sharing with the entire internet is not) (for)
So really, copying your friends music really passes most of the fair use tests. It might be technically illegal, but it's not a case where anybody could actually sue you and win.

How do I get 694 songs back without cloud or computer
wasn't sure where to put this one but i kind of have a dilemma thats not making me very happy
So I had 1031 songs on my phone that 694 of were not purchased through itunes well when i tried to upload them from my phone to the cloud i must have misunderstood what my phone was saying and I deleted 694 songs off my phone I just got a new computer so all the stuff on my old computer is gone *hard drive it was stored to went bad* the songs are not on the cloud if I am correct and I cant upload them from the old hard drive. help please I am a music ed major I cant get by on so little musicSee Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.

How to erase a ipad without connecting to computer
my father locked/disabled his Ipad and we have been trying for two days to figure out to how get it to work again, He does NOT have a computer, is their anyway to erase and bring back up???

KimberlyGo to iCloud.com and try to erase it from there. He will need his Apple ID and password, but he should be able to erase the device in iCloud.com. Of course this will only work, if he was using Find My iPhone and if it is enabled on his iPad.
You can erase the iPad using any computer that is running iTunes, but that will totally wipe the device.

If you have Find My iPhone enabled, you can use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
Alternatively, place the device in recovery mode and restore it to erase the device:
Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to shut down.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then restore the device -
How do I save files from iPad to Dropbox without connecting to computer?
I understand how to move files from iPad to a computer using email or ITunes. I would like to be able to save a word processing file directly from my iPad wirelessly to my Dropbox folder. I have tried several apps without success, including Pages Copy to WebDav (I get an error even though I think I have entered the user name and password right; is there a special way to designate the server address). Anyway is there a method or an app that will allow me to save a Word or text file from Ipad to Dropbox. Thanks for your help.
I assume that you have Pages and the DropBox app on the iPad ... so do this and it will work.
From Pages - email the file to yourself. Tap the Wrench icon and select Share and Print - and then select Email Document. Select the file type from the pop up window - then email the document.
Go to the mail app - open the email - tap and hold down on the document icon - select Open in - Open in DropBox. -
External Firewire wireless access WITHOUT connection to computer??
Hello!!
Just purchased a laptop with Airport Exptress to take place of an older desktop. The Airport is connected to my DSL via a router and my old desktop is also connected to the router. Lastly, I have two firewire external drives connected to my desktop.
So I've been successful WIRELESSLY transferring files between my laptop connected via Airport and my desktop, as well as being able to access my firewire drives though the desktop through my network.
My question is this...as I am about to sell the desktop, is there any hardware or peripheral (OTHER THAN keeping an old computer connected) that will allow me to access my firewire drives WIRELESSLY with my laptop. I'm about 95% sure that I KNOW the answer to my question...that I must have another computer to MOUNT the drives to be able to access the drives through the wireless network...but just thought I'd ask if there was some special hardware SHORT of a computer than can hook me up.

i have set up my wifes ipad mini wirelesly, i am now connecting for first time to itunes it asks if i want to set up as new ipad or restore from previous backup (my iphone not ipad), i have backed ipad up to icloud when i connect back to itunes will it give me an option to restore from icloud, i dont want to lose the apps and data my wife has already installed through her account... any thoughts
1. set up as new
2. transfer you wife's purchases.
3. Just in case create one computer back up manually.

You delete them the same way you got them there, via the sync process. Connect the phone to the computer and iTunes, go to the Photo tab, remove the checkmark by the photos you want to remove and sync. They will be deleted from the phone. You cannot delete them directly from the phone.

Are the iTunes you are referring to all purchased items?
If so, then you can download them by going to the iTunes app on your device and then click on More>Purchased>Music>Not on this iPhone, then you can selectively click on the little cloud next to the songs you want, or you can click on Download All in the upper right-hand corner.

I set up my iphone with my laptop but now its broken is there anyway of adding new song using anpther laptop/desktop computer without erasing everything currently on my phone? I have no access to my old computer and the songs on it are from cds not itunes purchases
Please help!!1) ensure iTunes is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

Well, I guess my heading says it all. I am trying to delete multiple (like A LOT) of photos from my camera roll on my iphone 5 without connecting to my computer. All other instructions I've read on here do not work. (I'm not saying I read ALL instructions though) But the ones I've read, do not work.
I DO NOT want to connect to my computer to do this, so please read what I am asking! It HAS to be possible, it's just downright silly if it isn't and I'll be ****** about the 3 grand I've given to Apple in the last few months for various reasons...
