Songs disappearing off my Zen Xt

I purchased a 40g Zen Xtra from eBay a week or two ago, and so far I hadn't noticed any problems with it, and had happily (albeit slowly) been transferring songs over to it. A few days ago I noticed that some of the songs I thought I had put on there weren't there anymore. Then today I found that several songs I transferred just last night are not there, and my total song count has gone from 230 to 80. Oddly enough, this doesn't seem to be happening to random songs, but is infecting entire albums. Many of the albums I already have there are there in their entirety, and many other albums are simply gone.
I am very, very new to the Zen (and mp3 players in general) so didn't know if there was something I was doing to somehow trigger this. I certainly didn't consciously delete anything - I would have noticed if I had done *that*.
Any ideas on what could be causing this?

This seems to happen rarely to folks, although I've yet to see an exact cause. At a guess it's some corruption in the player's library, so try a disk cleanup from rescue mode and failing that reformat the player.

I've recently bought a new MacBook Pro and am wanting to sell my old iMac so am trying to transfer all my music. I've turned on Home Sharing and am currently importing all my music onto my MacBook via iTunes but am wanting to wipe my old iMac so I can advertise it. Does anyone know, if I wipe the iMac hard drive (where the songs were imported/downloaded and 'Home Shared' from originally), will I still be able to continue importing them on my MacBook, even though the original files are gone? I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to this kind of stuff so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If importing hasn't completed, then don't wipe the old computer until it does. Once the importing has completed and the files have been transfererd to the iTunes folder on the new computer - look to be sure the files are actually there - then erasing the old computer will not have any negative effect on the new system.

Ugggh! Songs disappeared! HELP iTunes and iPod help

Okay, I don't know what I did, but all of my songs disappeared off iTunes. I think I was able to locate most of my CD's that I had downloaded, but anything that I had purchased is gone. What went wrong, and is there some way I can reinstall all of my songs?
Also, if I connect my iPod to my computer will it take the songs that are no longer in iTunes off of my iPod?

HT201272 Some songs are greyed out while others are black. What does this mean and how can I change it? I'm tired of only 2 or 3 songs from an album repeating while the others disappear off the "Up next".

Please help....I hate iTunes to begin with. Especially the latest they have come up with. Layout drives me crazy. And now....I find maybe a couple of songs in an album as "black" and the other titles are greyed out. What does this mean? This sounds like you have some unchecked tracks. These are skipped during track to track playback. The track names are slightly greyed out in the album view. You can normally see the check boxes from the Songs view or you can change the status via the rght-click context menu.

Select all the songs you want to be in one album, right click and choose "Get Information", delete the album name, if any, and type the one you want. You can also paste the Artwork in the right bottom box. Then click "Accept".

Music and videos keep disappearing off my iPhone

I have an 16GB iPhone 5S running iOS 8.1.3. Seems that either since the last iOS update or iTunes update, music and videos keep disappearing off my iPhone. I'll copy stuff on and now, I'll double check that it's staying on the phone, but the next day, my music or video library will contain 'no content'. I'm not syncing any songs or videos and have 'Manually manage...' checked. I've restarted the iPhone and iTunes. It keeps happening. What I have found is that it seems to happen sometime after the songs or videos are copied onto the phone while the phone is still plugged into my MBP. It doesn't seem, and I may be wrong, to happen when the phone is not plugged in to the Mac. Another issue I've found since the upgrading is that the phone rarely syncs the 'last watched' time on any videos anymore. Any ideas about these issues?

I have this problem too but movies and music delete a couple days later. I can watch half a movie one day and the next it disappears. I can also load music and listen to it all one day then they disappear in front of my eyes the next. these have all bern downloaded from the cloud on wifi at home.

Song disappearing from iphone 5 with IOS 8.1.1

EWe very week or so after I download a couple songs from itunes onto my iPhone 5 with iOS 8.1.1 the songs will disappear off the phone. Usually it happens when I try to play songs from my "recently added" playlist. when I go to re download the songs, iTunes says they were purchased and doeat give me the option to play them or download them again.

Restore as new and see if fault persists if not then you can recover your back up to get back to normal

Song disappears from my music app on iPhone

I bought an album and at first I had all songs on my music app, but one of the songs disappeared. WWhen I go to itunes store app and look up the song it shows i purchased it but it doesn't allow me to download it. I've searched through recent downloads and downloads on and off my phone but it doesn't allow me to download at all.. What is up with this?

I SOLVED IT!!!
Go to Settings - Then go to Music
Scroll down to where it says "Show all Music" and turn it off.
If "Show all Music" is off, it will only display music that had been downloaded to the device that you are on. The same goes for the videos app.

In normal view, half the page disappears off right of screen. in full screen this does not happen. what can be done to correct the screen ratio for normal screen?

version 5 loaded on windows 7. all went well for a while. one day while using, ratio of normal screen doubled in width; i.e. half the page disappears off the screen to the right (on a wide screen). when full screen mode applied, ratio is fine. it only happens in normal view, which is the usually prefered option. I cannot determine any means within the program to resize the normal screen. nothing else is affected, only mozilla firefox in normal view. not that when program is opened from keyboard the page is correct for a moment, then enlarges the width with 1/2 page dissappearing.

Songs disappear from playlist once in a while but are still in library

Every now and again I notice that a song has disappeared from a playlist. I can copy it back to the playlist from the music library. But what makes the song drop from the playlist? It's either a song I purchased from iTunes or one I imported from cd. Doesn't matter.

Not a Sony Vaio. I have one of the first iPods. It was a gift. It's not that songs disappear from the playlist in the iPod, but from playlists on the computer. They are in the music library and I have to copy and paste them back into the playlist I want them in. I haven't lost any from the music library, fortunately.
The playlists (I have a bunch of them) are blue with a music note. The songs in the playlists have checkmarks next to them, and are all checked. They just drop out of a playlist every now and again and I have to copy it back in. I can go for a while and think "hey, I haven't heard X in a long time". And sure enough it's dropped from the playlist in the computer, and I have to copy it back in from the library, then resynch the iPod. Really weird and mildly annoying.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

How can I fix a Window that disappears Off Screen

Hi,
I'm running a new installation of MAX/msp and the output window does not appear on my monitor. When I use exspose the window comes in to view but when I click on it it disappears off screen to the left, therefore I can't grab it with my mouse.
I think the problem stems from when I was using dual monitors, one of which burned out so I am now only using one.
So far I've deleted all the MAX/msp preferences that I can find.
I've looked in System Preferences - Displays - This shows that my mac only expects to see my single monitor.
I remember in OS9 there was a key command to allow you to move windows without the use of a mouse - If there's one for OSx it would probably solve my problem but I can't find it.
I'm using a G4 dual 867 OSX 10.4.7 with a SyncMaster920n monitor

Songs disappeared - iPod not recognized in Windows or iTunes

Hi, I have had a 5th generation iPod for 8 months now and have a big problem:
After I charged it in a wall plug, all the songs disappeared from my iPod. It has happened to me once in the past but the songs then reappeared... don't know how that happened. Now, songs are all gone and Windows and iTunes won't recognize my iPod. I have reset it and since then, the screen keeps changing from the main menu to the Apple logo and then back to the main menu. My iPod will then be recognized in Windows for a few seconds, while the main menu is displayed on the screen, and then disappear. I have put it into disk mode and only then will Windows recognize it, but not iTunes. I have then restarted the iPod Service via Computer Management but once I reset my iPod to remove it from the disk mode, it continued changing from the main menu to the Apple logo. Since the problem seems to be with my iPod and not with iTunes, I have not tried to delete iTunes and reinstall it.

If I delete songs off of a playlist on my iPhone 4S, will the songs delete off of the iTunes playlist when I sync?

So basically, I have a LOT of music. Like, over 26,000 songs a lot. I am now in the process of going through all of it, song by song, and I have been making playlists on iTunes and syncing them to my phone. Now, I know I can delete the songs manually off of my iPhone, but will they delete off of iTunes as well once I sync back to the computer? I'm worried that all of my work will be for naught. And if there is a way to delete the songs off of iTunes, other than manually selecting and deleting, please let me know. Thank you!

The best way to ensure the content gets removed from your iPhone is to back it up and then Erase All Content and Settings. See the article belows below for more info:

You can remove all settings and information from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch using "Erase All Content and Settings" in Settings > General > Reset.
