Songs imported from albums now one aiff file

A number of years ago, I imported some of my vinyl records and thought (it has been a while) that each of the tracks were broken out as individual songs.  Looking at my music library, I see full album sets as one .aiff file that contain all of the songs in one file.  I'm looking for some way to break them out to individual songs and was hoping someone would might be able to tell me how?
Thanks in advance,
Jimmy

Jim,
Thanks for the quick reply.  I'll try this after while and see how it works!

  • How are duplicate songs deleted from albums?  I've followed iTunes Help intructions but wasn't successful.

How are multiple duplicate songs deleted from albums?  I've followed iTunes Help instructions but wasn't successful.  I command clicked the duplicate songs to select them, and pressed  "delete" on the keyboard, but nothing happened.  I also tried dragging the selections to tht Trash Bin to no avail. I'm sure that the album is not part of a Smart Playlist since i just impoted the songs.  Would appreciate any and all suggestions

    Right click - Delete.

  • ITunes suffles songs imported from a CD AND will not record my playlist in the correct sequence on a CD.  How do I correct the problem?

iTunes shuffles songs imported from a CD and
shuffles songs to be burned to CD from my playlists, i.e. incorrect sequence.

Reinsert the CD & reimport them.

No, iCloud doesn't sync music between devices.  To get your music on your iPad, sync it with iTunes.

  • One song played from album in cover flow view

In the iTunes ‘cover flow view’ when I click on any album it only plays one of the songs from the album and then randomly chooses another song from my library. To play a song in the album other than the one listed first in my library I have to click on the song itself, I can’t just click on the album and have it play like a cd. Why won’t it play all of the songs from that album? (The songs on the album are by the same artist and the artist names are not spelled differently.)

Sounds like random play is turned on.

  • Updated to itunes10,and can't play my songs imported from cd's

I updated to Itunes 10, and now I can't play my music imported from cd;s. It's saying files can't be found, but the songs are still listed on itunes. What can I do to locate my songs????

    Aloha,
Just a suggestion since I've had a similar problem which has taken me weeks to fix! What happened was the iTunes library files got trashed somehow, but the music was still there! Use Windows Explorer ( run explorer.exe ) and look at My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\ and see whether your music is still there or not. If it is, you're going to have to reimport each album from within iTunes by clicking on File, Import Library, which will bring up a window...browse to the iTunes Music Folder and click on each album...a real pain, but it works! This may leave you with a lot of duplicate songs in your music library which will have " ! " exclamation marks next to them ...they have no links...which you'll have to delete manually ( just the ones with the ! next to them ).
It's important that you back up the two files, iTunes Music Library.xml and Itunes Library.itl every day!!! ( and find some easy way to do it...I not only use an auto backup, I actually copy and paste them into a 'saved' folder. Without them, your iTunes music is ..um..useless!
    Hope this helped.

  • Song extracted from album

Somehow, the Music app has extracted a song from an album.  The song hasn't disappeared--it now shows as a separate item on the Albums list, as if it were an album.  How can I get it back where it belongs?  It wouldn't be quite so bad if I could set up a listening session to include more than one album (like stacking vinyl LPs on a record-changer).  Since the extracted song is from the middle of the album's list that wouldn't be ideal, but I'd take it.  The album is one that I purchased from the iTunes store and until the latest IOS upgrade, it has played just fine.  I don't do any synching (haven't upgraded my MacBook OS version yet), so it's not that.

Today I discover that the problem has been fixed.  Don't know how, don't know why; I'm just grateful.

  • Songs imported from CD not displaying in song list

I tried to import songs from three different CDs. The first and third were fine, but the second CD imported, but doesn't display the songs imported in the list of all songs, although they are playing. I tried re-importing and it asks do I want to overwrite. I overwrite and same result. I re-import a second time and ask to not overwrite. Still no sign of the signs in the total list, and it now shows up in the duplicates list. Anyone know how I can find the songs, as they apparently are there, just not visible in the total list.

Dell Inspiron 600M   Windows XP   Just upgraded to latest iTunes and iPod s/w.

I discovered what the problem was for me. When I looked at the Recently Added songs, I saw that the songs were there. However, for the Name of Song, they showed the artist/song title, and for the Artist it showed "Various Artists". That's why I couldn't find it when I sorted by Title or Artist. By going into Recently Added, I right clicked on each entry and deleted the artist from the Title and added the appropriate artist in the Artist spot. Now the songs are properly logged in the music database and now my iPod.

  • How to import from ITunes in normal AAC file? (not protected)

How do I import from Itunes in a normal AAC file? (ideally in 320kbps) but most important, not a protected file!
Alternatively, how do I convert from protected aac to normal aac?
    Tks for you help.

    Hi,
How do I import from Itunes in a normal AAC file?
Go to iTunes Preferences, and choose- Advanced/Importing and under "Import Using" choose AAC, under "Setting" choose 320kbps. Copy protection is only added to songs downloaded from the iTunes Store, and not songs you import from cd's.
how do I convert from protected aac to normal aac?
The only legitimate way is to burn the songs to a cd, and then re- import them using the settings discussed above.

  • Songs imported from CD not showing in iTunes

I have recently started using a new PC, I copied my iTunes Library from my laptop onto the new PC and all songs have transferred across apart from those that I had imported from a CD. Is there an easy way to recover these songs instead of importing all of them again on my new PC?

Do the non-syncing songs play in iTunes on the computer?

  • Please Help: Problem Playing Songs Imported from CD's

I know this question has probably been asked before but I have yet to find an answer to help me fix my problem. When I upload songs from a CD to itunes they won't play. It skips over them. There isn't any wierd symbols next to the song that says that there is something wrong and I am not getting any error messages. The only thing that is wierd is under time it says "not available". I am really bad at using computers and any responses will be greatly appreciated.

  • Song "dropped" from album

I received Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto as a gift. I imported the CD into iTunes. I then synced with my iPod Nano.
In iTunes all of the songs are in the album (I select Artist->Coldplay, Album->Mylo Xyloto and see all 14 songs.
However, on my iPod, if I do the same thing, there are only 13 songs. Princess of China is missing from the album. However, it is there under the artist "Coldplay feat. Rihanna" which has an album of Mylo Xyloto which contains one song (you guessed it, Princess of China). If I try to go album first, same problem; two albums called Mylo Xyloto.
I'd like to listen to the album from start to finish. I could create a playlist, but that seems kind of redundant.
    Any suggestions?
As of this writing, I'm on the current release of iTunes (10.5.2.11) and up to date on the firmware for my iPod nano (6th gen).

Okay, solved the problem. After I submitted the question, a "More Like This" list showed up on the support page. It led me to this post:http://samsoft.org.uk/iTunes/grouping.asp from which I was able to figure out that Compilations was off (by default) on my iPod, but on in iTunes. After I changed the setting and re-synced, all is well.

  • Why are songs missing from albums I downloaded

When I try to listen to some albums songs are missing! Do I have to download the entire cd again?

This is a long-standing topic on the forum.  I've been seeing it for years and years.  I have seen it happen maybe twice with my iTunes and I am still using iTunes 7.5.  However, there is nothing definitively pointing to to it being a specific issue with iTunes.  In the past I have created and deleted hundreds of tracks in a day and who knows if my computer's operating system or iTunes slipped up somewhere, or even if I did in selecting files for deletion.  The other question is, is the media file itself also missing or is it just the entry in iTunes that is gone, or is the link broken?  With something this vague it's like going to a car mechanic and asking them to troubleshoot a "strange noise" that happens maybe a few seconds for every 20 hours on the road and not being sure where it originates, nor if it has something to do with the road conditions, or the fuel in the car, or the engine, or the tires, etc.
Keep backups.  The two or three times it has happened to me in the last 8 years the original file had gone missing but the entry was still in iTunes (broken link).  I periodically run one of Dougscripts Applescripts to check my library for broken links and I was able to rescue the file from my backup before I overwrote the backup.  I try to do this each time I backup my library just to make sure I don't overwrite a good copy with a bad copy.  Of course this won't work if the entry has also been deleted in the library file but I manually manage my library and this has the mixed benefit of iTunes not automatically deleting the media file when I (or it?) delete the entry in the library database.
