Songs imported from CD not showing in iTunes

I have recently started using a new PC, I copied my iTunes Library from my laptop onto the new PC and all songs have transferred across apart from those that I had imported from a CD. Is there an easy way to recover these songs instead of importing all of them again on my new PC?

Do the non-syncing songs play in iTunes on the computer?

  • Can i transfer the entire contents of one ipod to another.  Songs were imported from CD not purchased at itunes store

Can I transfer the contents of one pod to another.  The songs were imported from CD's; they were not purchased at the itunes store.  Basically I am asking if I can transfer to a new ipod.

Thanks.  Not all the songs on my old ipod are on my computer at home.  But I'll transfer what I can from my home computer; and then bring the new ipod into work and transfer the rest of the music.  So simple I should have thought of it!

  • Songs imported from CD not displaying in song list

I tried to import songs from three different CDs. The first and third were fine, but the second CD imported, but doesn't display the songs imported in the list of all songs, although they are playing. I tried re-importing and it asks do I want to overwrite. I overwrite and same result. I re-import a second time and ask to not overwrite. Still no sign of the signs in the total list, and it now shows up in the duplicates list. Anyone know how I can find the songs, as they apparently are there, just not visible in the total list.

Dell Inspiron 600M   Windows XP   Just upgraded to latest iTunes and iPod s/w.

I discovered what the problem was for me. When I looked at the Recently Added songs, I saw that the songs were there. However, for the Name of Song, they showed the artist/song title, and for the Artist it showed "Various Artists". That's why I couldn't find it when I sorted by Title or Artist. By going into Recently Added, I right clicked on each entry and deleted the artist from the Title and added the appropriate artist in the Artist spot. Now the songs are properly logged in the music database and now my iPod.

  • Importing from DVD not showing full video

I'm trying to import a video (VOB file) from a DVD, but the full frame of the video is not showing. The frame size that is importing seems to be importing as a different frame size than the video is and I can't seem to change it. The import seems to be cropping it. If I adjust the size in the Program Sequence window, it is showing the cropped version of the video.
Can any of the other files on the DVD be imported such as the IFO file?

... What other formats can iMovie & iDVD use? What do you recommend? ...just dv. and for stills jpeg, tifff.. and for music aiff, mp3... but that was not your question any other video-codec gets converted/has to be converted...
... which are apparently very, very big - one half-hour folder was 6 GB...rule: 1h video = ~13Gb... that is the amount of data on tape... iM uses a digital copy of that. many other codecs do a much better compression, BUT lossy!
... many times bigger than it needs to be...no, a video-DVD is meant for playback only...the compression codec just stores the delta(=difference) from frame to frame... for edit purposes, you need the info of EVERY frame on tape...
... How should I adjust the settings if I want to get an hour's worth of video & audio on a standard 4.7 GB blank DVD-R?
...you don't do settings using iDVD. this app needs a dv stream to work in the highest possible quality. use the export to iDVD feature of iM.
in case, you spend a few k$, you can buy DVDSP, including a tool called Compressor... after learning a few years to handle it, you can result smaller files with higher quality.....

  • Tags from Mediacenter not showing in iTunes

Hiya all...iTunes virgin here. Hopefully a quick and easy question. I have over 10,000 MP3s on my HD and have been using Mediacenter 12 as my primary media server. We just got iPhones and will necessarily be using iTunes as a more frequent interface now. I had advanced tag info on at least 60% of these tracks and very little has made it to iTunes. From what I've seen, the genre made it, but almost none of the ratings made the transfer, which is unfortunate, since that's a key way for me to select songs from such a large library. How can I get iTunes to recognize these former ratings? Also, does iTunes have more advanced tagging, like mood, situation, etc?
    Thanks in advance.

    Bad sign!
If you use podcasts, check to see if you can sort them manually and have the sort hold when you sync and try to playback in iTunes.
I was having trouble with playcounts on my shuffle, and it was about the same time that sorting podcasts became impossible. When I fixed the sorting problem, the playcount issue also disappeared.
My guess is corrupt iTunes Library.
The only fix for that so far is to throw out the ITunes Library file (with all of its accumulated data) and reimport all of your music. Just iTunes Library (in ~/Music/iTunes, not the Music Folder, which has all your songs in it!)
BUT, some people are finding the problem recurrs after functioning properly for a while.
Why not move your iTunes Library file somewhere safe, and let iTunes create a fresh one. If that doesn't fix it, just move your old file back.
If it does fix it, you'll have to decide whether losing date added, playcount, etc. is worth it.
    Good luck.

  • Import from camera not showing preview images

When I import from my DSLR, I see empty boxes representing all the images on the card but no preview. I'm set to import JPEG and the images are JPEG. I have the option Do Not Import Duplicates turned off. I've tried restarting Aperture (3.1) and even restarting the iMac (10.6.5) but to no avail. Does anyone has any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Cool this is good, 1 you can still access images and two you have identified Aperture as being the issue. The next step is to do some basic maintenance on your system, have a read of the Aperture 3: Troubleshooting Basics at the following link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3805
Trouble shooting is about eliminating possibilities, so step through each of these, although unlikely, it is usually the unlikely causing the issue. If it were obvious you would not have asked the question.

  • Html import from edge not showing on ipad 3

Hi all, i hope someone can help.
I am currently putting together a portfolio of my work in Adobe dps to take to client meetings and show on my ipad 3.
The intro page to my portfolio consists of a full screen animation created in Adobe Edge which i created at 1024 x 768 and imported into my folio which is also set up at 1024 x 768 and the animation looks great on the ipad 3 which has a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536. Further on in my document i show examples of my work and these look a little pixelated (they look ok but im being fussy and think they could be sharper), im assuming this is because they are set for a 1024 x 768 and im running it on a 2048 x 1536 screen. So i started again and re-created my html Edge animation on a document size of 2048 x 1536, created a new  2048 x 1536 folio to import it into. When viewed on the iPad it looks huge, the animation that is supposed to be in the centre of the screen is half cut off in the bottom right of the screen. I tried importing the 1024 x 768 version into the 2048 x 1536 folio and all i get is a black screen.
Im really confused and don't really know what to try next, im not from a web background so my coding skills a minimal.
Any help or advice would be greatly appriciated.
Please note i am importing the html as an article to the folio rather than as a html overlay, also i am not pulising these i am viewing them in content viwer on the ipad.
    Thanks in advance
    Pie

You should be working at 1024x768 and setting the folio to 2048x1536.
As far as the images, as long as they’re 144 ppi or higher they should be fine.
Try that and let us know.

  • Applications from Touch not showing in iTunes

I have noticed that app store downloads and purchases done from the Touch are not backing up when I sync to my Mac. They are OK on the touch, but I can not get them to show up in iTunes. Has anyone else seen anything like this happening? One is a purchased app. When I go to it in the app store from the Mac, it thinks I never bought it and wants me to repurchase

Yes, that is true, another users (like myself) are suffering the same issues.
My advice is to use the latest version of the SW available:
    iTunes 8.1.0.52
    iPhone/iPod Touch FW 2.2.1
And wait until Apple solves the problem, because in fact the problem is in the Apple Store servers, and not in our computers or devices.
So, you need to be patient, and check everyday if the iTunes detects new updates.

  • Bought itunes song through phone. does not show in itunes

OK, I bought a song through iphone/itunes. I was assuming that when I sync up that new song would transfer. It didn't. Any thoughts??
    Thanks.

    Thanks again.
Well, After my post my purchased song eventually vanished from my iPhone as well. I called the apple store and they referred me to iTunes support. It was tough trying to navigate through to email tech help. They were nice and reset my download, which I did through itunes on my MBP.
All is solved. Thanks again. I hope this helps someone else in the future.

  • IBook purchased from store not showing in iTunes on PC

    Hi
I recently purchased an iBook from the store to my iPad Mini. On syncing my iPad the book did not copy to the iTunes book library. In fact a search of the whole C drive failed to find it so I must conclude that it did not copy during the sync.
Other books are in the iTunes book library from previous syncs but these were done before the ios7 upgrade. Could that be the problem? Or am I just being a bit slow witted?

  • Imported CD's not showing in itunes match

The past 5 CD's I've imported have not shown in my itunes library on my phone or ipad.  I purchased itunes match especially and followed all the tips on here that I can find but still not working?  So far seems like a waste of money.... can anyone help?

The most common solution to this problem is, in iTunes, turn off iTunes Match quit and re-launch iTunes then re-enable the service.

  • Importing songs from CDs - not showing up in my Library

I am aving trouble importing songs from CDs.  I completed the process as instructed - using the "import this CD" button (I have done this many times successfully).
The import process ran OK.  When the Import process completed, I looked in my music Library and the songs were not there.
I repeated the process - same result.  Nothing in my music library.
    What should I do?

Re: [iPod classic] - Re: Importing songs from CDs - not showing up in my Library

When I load the CD, iTunes recognizes it and asks me if I want to Import the CD.
When I click on "Import CD", the song titles are retreived and show up.  The iTunes bar at the top of the screen shows "Importing track 1" or "Importing  the song by title".  Each song is imported, and I can see each song being impotrted via the iTunes bar at the top of the screen.  iTunes shows that the CD has been imported, and the system dings when the import is done.
This is exactly the same as every other time I've imported CDs.  The only difference is that the songs do not show up in the library.
    Thanks

  • I have transferred my music to new computer but music is not showing in iTunes - although is on the computer as if I select a song from the folder it will play that song via iTunes. How can I get my music to show?

I have transferred my music to a new computer following the instructions carefully but for whatever reason the music does not show on iTunes on the new computer. The music is there as I can access it via My Computer and if I select a song it will show in iTunes and play - however I can not do this for every single track! Can anyone suggest something I have done wrong????

Media was moved via external hard disk, and I think I moved the iTunes Media folder after consolidating it.

  • ITunes suffles songs imported from a CD AND will not record my playlist in the correct sequence on a CD.  How do I correct the problem?

iTunes shuffles songs imported from a CD and
shuffles songs to be burned to CD from my playlists, i.e. incorrect sequence.

Reinsert the CD & reimport them.

  • Ipod songs ratings are not showing in Itunes (manually managed)

    Hello,
Ipod songs ratings are not showing in Itunes, however I can see the ratings in my iPod Touch 4 (that is manually managed). I have an iPod 3 an it works. Why?
I don't want to sync anything, I'm looking the songs that are in the iPod through iTunes and the rating information is missing.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks & Regards
    SU

    Hi SU
    Hope this helps.
When I connect my iPod touch to iTunes on my PC - under library there is a Music folder and under iPod there is a Music folder. Which music folder isn't showing the track rating?
If the Library Music folder isn't showing ratings then see A) Updating Ratings in Library Music
If the iPod Music folder isn't showing ratings then see B) Seeing Ratings in iPod Music
I have 20000 tracks in iTunes and 5000 tracks on my iPod which I am rating as a listen to them. 1000 have ratings 4000 have none.
    A) Updating Ratings in Library Music
This is on a PC. When you manually manage music on your iPod the ratings you assign on your iPod aren't automatically synced to iTunes but it is easy to do it manually and only takes a few minutes.
    1) in iTunes on a PC click Music under iPOD, sort your tracks by the Rating column and select 5 star tracks.
    2) Click File > New Playlist From Selection and call it 5 STAR. This creates a new playlist on your iPod.
    3) Right click the 5 STAR playlist and click Export. I save the playlist export file to my Desktop.
    4) Click File > Library > Import Playlist > navigate to the location you exported the playlist to (in my case Desktop), select 5 STAR and import. You may get a warning saying some tracks don't exist, you get this if you change track info in your iTunes library, it'll omit these tracks from the playlist your creating. 5 STAR playlist will appear under iTunes Playlists.
    5) Select 5 STAR under iTunes Playlists and you will see your 5 star tracks from your iPod but the Rating will be blank. Select all tracks, right click, select Rating and then *****. All the tracks will now be rated 5 star.
    6) Right click iTunes Playlist 5 STAR and select Delete, this won't delete your tracks.
    7) Right click iPOD Playlist 5 STAR and select Delete, this won't delete your tracks.
    8) You can repeat this process with your 4 star stracks then 3 star, etc.
    9) an optional step. Once I've rated my tracks I delete them from my iPod.
I do this process every few weeks when I've got a reasonable batch of tracks to update ratings in iTunes.
    B) Seeing Ratings in iPod Music
In iTunes iPod Music my tracks are sorted by rating and I mistakenly thought the rating column is blank. I clicked on the Name column to resort and saw some of the tracks had ratings. I then noticed that when I clicked on iPod music it didn't display tracks from the top of the list (my 5 star tracks) which I expected but half way down (0 star tracks) which is why I thought there was a problem. So now when I look at my iPod music in iTunes I scroll up the list to check they are showing ratings before doing A) above.
