Songs in itunes library wont sync to ipod or ipad

A number of my songs show in the itunes library but won't sync with ipad or ipod.

- Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
- To transfer other music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
- From your description it appears that you used to sync to another iTnes/library/computer.  You can only sync to one iTunes library. To switch iTunes libraries you need to do the following after you get all the stuff on the new computer since the backup does not include the apps, music and some other things that are synced to the iPod.
--- Connect the iPOd to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
--- Restore the iPod from that backup.

Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?

  • ITunes library not syncing to iPod touch, please help!!!

Hi! I hesitated to upgrade to iOS 6.0.1 until all my songs from my iPod disappeared (but all the songs are still in iTunes library). I thought it was the problem with the software, so I upgraded my iPod to the current version iOS 6.0.1 and itunes to 10.7.
I am on a Window 7 OS. I tried to uninstall the iTunes software, and tried installing it again. I thought the Apple Mobile Device was disabled, but no. I tried restarting it from Administrative Tools. Not working as well. I don't want to restore to the manufacture version since I have so many things on my iPod. It would be great if you guys can suggest something other than restoring. Thank you so much!

ok, so i figured this out... when i connect my ipod and go to the "tv shows tab" i had the option to sync only the "unwatched episodes" checked. so the shows that i watched on my computer would not download to my iPod. If you select "all" instead of "unwatched" then all of the tv shows regardless if you have watched them or not, will begin to download... Thanks for the help everybody

  • Deleting songs from itunes Library and syncing

I have loaded up my nano with most of my personal cd's and some purchased songs. I'd like to delete most of the songs off of the itunes library (sorta seems like double kill since they are on my nano and computer)...I really only need them in one spot and I could use the space on my computer. My question is when I do another CD or a purchased song and re-synch my ipod nano, will I lose everything that I have put on my nano and just get the new songs? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

And I will second that. Storing music on your iPod and nowhere else is an extremely risky option because when (and not if) there comes a time to restore your iPod, which is a very common fix for iPod problems, then all the music would be erased. If you no longer have the music in iTunes (or any other back up), then all that music would be lost.
At the very least back up your music to either cd or dvd before deleting it, particularly any purchased music/videos, as this would have to be bought again if it were lost. See this about backing up media.

  • Videos from Itunes store wont sync to ipod, format not playable

    Hey everyone,
Today i tried to sync my ipod to add some new songs, and it said that the two Pirates movies off itunes could not be transfered because they are unplayable for the ipod...mind you the videos were on it before and have been played.
I tried to put a TV show instead and it copied 7 of the 22 over and then said the rest were unplayable...any ideas? Is my iPod dying? Could be a good thing cuz then I would have an excuse to buy an iPhone ha ha
    thanks

It could be a problem with some of the downloads in which case you would need to contact the iTunes Store. But before that have you tried:
    1. Resetting your iPod (Hold down the menu and center buttons for six seconds)
    2. Restoring your iPod in iTunes (all data will be removed).

  • ITunes Library Error / Sync with iPod

A few days ago, I opened a new library with iTunes in order to create a smaller library/playlist collection on a jump drive. Upon switching back to my most recent library (or what I thought was most recent), I discovered that a few of my playlists were missing. Upon closer inspection, though, I noticed that this version of the library must be a months-old version. I'm missing several albums and a great deal of my library management (i.e. re-naming albums, organizing collections, etc) has gone undone. This is problematic, because I don't even know what I've added to my library since then. My iPod is updated, and has all of the content and proper organization. However, iTunes does not seem to like me using my iPod as the "base" and syncing my iTunes computer library to match. Is there a way to do this? Since my iPod is far more up-to-date than my iTunes library, I want to use it to sync with. Hopefully this is possible. Help is appreciated.

Addition: All of the music I have added since the version of the library I'm currently using is still in my iTunes music folder. For some reason, the library file itself isn't synced with the contents of my iTunes music folder.

  • Some movies and songs on iTunes don't sync on iPod

I downloaded lots of songs and movies, but some (and mainly the movies) don't sync on my iPod. I thought this was normal but this time i downloaded so many movies and like 2 got on my iPod that i'm getting pist off! The movies are just normal quicktime mp4 files and they do go in to iTunes but not on my ipod...
So please help me, does someone knows a solution?

  • HT1535 downloaded songs from itunes will not sync to ipod classic, I am not able to manually transfer them either

Songs are not downloading from itunes software to my ipod classic.  I have tried manually syncing, and they are all check marked.  Really frustrated as I have spent way too many hours trying to fix this.  Please help.  Is it possible my libraries are messed up?

Uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes has no affect on the media on the computer or the account it is linked to.
If the media was purchased under another iTunes account, then it is permanently tied to that account.

  • Not all my songs in my itunes library are synced to my ipod

Why not all my songs in itunes library are synced to my ipod classic?

Have you set iTunes to Sync all the music to your iPod?
If you have set it up as step 1, did you also select Sync only ticked songs and videos on the Summary pane?
If you chose step 2, are the songs mising form the iPod ticked in your Library? If not, that's why they are not on your iPod.
Alternatively, where are you looking for the songs on your iPod? For example, If you cannot find the artist on the artist menu, have you looked under the album title or the song's title?

  • Songs wont sync to ipod (greyed out with circle)

Bought song on iTunes store downloads and plays in iTunes but wont sync to my ipod?  Apparently this is an issue cause its happened to me a lot lately. This shouldn't happen but there is a quick fix without downloading anything or resetting anything that I have figured out. First delete all greyed out songs from any playlists then go to song In iTunes delete the song or whole album and choose the MOVE TO RECYCLE option. Next go to recycle bin and highlight all songs and or albums choose RESTORE. Now go to iTunes choose ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY then add the folder or file back to iTunes it should now sync perfectly.  I think there are other ways but this to me is the easiest as of now I don't really understand why its necessary for only some songs. Hopefully someone from iTunes or apple or whatever can figure it out. Hope this helps.

    Hey there,
Have you tried deauthorizing the computer first and then authorizing it again to see if that takes care of anything? Give it shot. Hope it helps.
