Songs in my library won't transfer to my ipod mini

I can import songs from a CD and buy them in the itunes music store but these songs will not transfer to the ipod, they just remain in the library. They used to automatically transfer before I updated itunes. I have reinstalled itunes and used the ipod updater but nothing has worked is there anything else that I can do??? Im getting desperate here please help!

Do you have usb 2.0?
Go to start/control panel/admin tools/comp management/device manager.
Look in USB for enhanced host controller.
If it doesnt say this, then you dont have USB 2.0

My daughter got a new ipod touch & only half the songs in her library will sync. We have home sharing so some of the songs were dragged from my library. They won't sync. Frustrating. We've already tried choosing playlists instead of the whole library and resetting the ipod & starting over. Any other suggestions?

Plug it into iTunes and select the iPod on the left, click music at the top and make sure its selected to syn if not check it and click apply at the bottom, also it may be because the iPod is full its capacity is also displayed at the bottom of the iPod page.

If you cannot find the file on your hard drive then once you delete the current broken entry you should be able to redownload from iTunes in the Cloud. This assumes the item in question qualifies. Note that audiobooks, digital booklets, iTunes LPs & Extras, ringtones, selected movies etc. don't.
If prompted don't hide the item. You may find that you need to close and then reopen iTunes before it will appear for download.

Ok so HD video is not supported, which explains the problem so what is the solution? Do I have to put it through a converter to make the data and bit rate smaller? Would that even be possible?

My songs in my library won't play

My now ex-boyfriend was playing around in my itunes before he dumped me, now my songs in my library (all 764) won't play. I had them backed up on a jumpdrive but he deleted all those too. I ran my restore 2000 program on my hard drive and nothing could be restored. However, I ran the restore program on my jumpdrive and found almost all of them, but nothing plays in my library anymore. Some of the songs even have the exclamation point next to them. Will someone take mercy upon my soul and PLEASE help me? I'd like nothing more than to shove in his face the fact that he didn't kill my music. Do I need to delete my whole libray and then copy all the songs from the jumpdrive and paste them back into the library?

The only way to backup non-Tunes purchases to iCloud it to subscribe to iTunes Match.
The message you are getting means that iTunes can't find the actual music files.
You can:
- iTunes: Finding lost media and downloads
- You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

I now have itunes for windows 8 on my laptop and I cannot transfer a new song from my library to a playlist on my iPad mini using IOS 8.1.3

I upgraded to iTunes for windows on my Windows 8.1 64 bit laptop. I have not done any iTunes manipulations for many months. I just purchased a new song. I now have IOS 8.1.3 on my iPad Mini and I tried to move the new song from my library from my purchased file to a playlist. I can no longer click and drag the song from anything to the playlist. In addition, when I sync my iPad to my laptop none of my music from the iPad shows up in iTunes on the computer. Why does Apple continuously mess around with the simple actions of the program. It is very disheartening to be treated like this as a long time customer. Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then "About This Mac". Write down what it says about "version"and report that here. Now continue to "More Info..." Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).

The main issue might be having too little RAM. Most computers run newer systems more smoothly with more RAM than Apple says is a "minimum" for running that system version
After installing 10.6.3 run the updater to 10.6.8, then upgrade iTunes.

The new system should install on top of the old one. That said, things have been known to go wrong and it makes sense to do a backup before installing the new system. In fact you seem to care about your files and things so you need to always have a backup because one day you will wake up and you hard drive will be dead and everrything on it gone. Buy an external hard drive and start using Time Machine or something to back up. The other risk is when you install the new iTunes. It doesn't happen frequently given the millions of users but there are daily posts here from people who for some reason the installation wiped out their whole library. If you have a backup then there's nothing to worry about.
This is well within what many people can do at home. It's a matter of inserting an optical disc and clicking you way through menus.

At one time I purchased music through iTunes but used my AOL sign in, instead of my Apple ID. I think this is where the problem is.

I would try restoring the Nano to factory settings via iTunes. This will clear your iPod's artwork cache and rebuild it. Here are instructions on how to restore your Nano.

The ! usually means that the song file has been moved or deleted. If you can find the song file on your hard drive, you can remove the song from iTunes and put it back by using File>Open and navigating to the song file. There is also a location that iTunes will look for song files (I'm a Mac guy, so I don't know where it should be in Windows, but for me it's HD>Users>My User Name>Music>iTunes>iTunes Music and then there are various folders for different albums, podcasts, etc.), so I would keep them all there.

Your technical issues have zero to do with the installers. Whatever is at play is rooted on your system, but you have not provided any specific system info nor crash logs. Pardon me, but "Photoshop is crashing" is a useful as my 88 year old grandma telling me her phone doesn't work...

Leaving an iPod in a car is a bad idea, aside from the theft potential. The extremes of heat and cold that a car can face can damage the internal hard disk. Remember, an iPod classic is not like the newer devices: it is like your older desktop computer with a physically spinning hard disk, with reading heads floating microns above the disk. Heat and cold creates expansion and changes tolerances.
I'd suggest bringing the iPod inside, and leaving it inside for at least 24 hours to let it come to temperature equilibrium. Try that first.
Your response didn't address the other side of the equation: the iTunes you sync to. Have you updated iTunes recently or any other component? Install any drivers? Change the port where you plug in the iPod? Install any new security software, such as antivirus, that wasn't present when it was last able to synch?

The albums on my desktop iPhoto won't transfer to my iPad mini iPhoto

I can't figure out why my Mac desktop iPhoto where I have multiple albums set up with pictures won't transfer ALL of the albums I have set up. I have a Mac laptop with iPhoto that transfers what I have it set up to transfer just fine to my older ipad. Both the Mac desktop and ipad mini are new w/in the last year.
When I plug in my ipad mini to sync with mac desktop, I have my itunes sync settings on iPad mini to sync with iPhoto, selected pictures, albums, etc & include No Events &have the albums I want transferred checked off in the Photos section.
It seems like there is transfer from ipad mini to desktop, but doesn't seem to go the other way. Any ideas?

The same thing happened to me when I updated to the new software when iPhone 4S came out.
