Songs mislabeled as podcasts, can't delete, only findable through smartlist

Hello—
I've been having a problem with iTunes where a song will somehow get labeled as a podcast, so it no longer shows up under Music, but when I look under podcast it isn't there either (because it isn't a podcast). The only way I can find the song is by creating a smart playlist that looks for the title. These songs were deleted (through iTunes, the same way I delete anything) and so the files no longer exist, but iTunes still things they are there. I can't delete them because you can't delete from a smart playlist and they aren't findable outside of the playlist. They really aren't harming anything, but I'm anal and want them gone.
I'm using the latest of both iTunes (7.3.2 [6]) and OS X (10.4.10).

I have the exact opposite problem - I have Podcasts mislabeled as music on the iPod, they were showing up that way in iTunes until I updated, now I can't find them at all. They are still on the iPod, though, but cannot be seen through iTunes. What the heck is going on???

Now I tried to delete only one part of this file. For example all persons with the name"cocoon".
I used for this target the following statement:
DELETE FROM agro agro
WHERE agro.users.extract('authentication/users/user/text()').getStringVal()= 'cocoon';
When I execute this statement, Oracle DB delete all users and not only with the name "Cocoon".
How can I delete only one part of my xml file?

This the expected behavoir. You uploaded a document containing multiple users and then asked XML DB to delete any documnet that contained a user with the name in question. The problem here is that you are creating a mega document that contains an aggregation of user documents but then trying to work with individual user documents. This is a bad idea.
In general XML does not understand the concept of a collection of documents. It can only operate on one document at a time. Hence the tendancy to aggregate individual documents into a single larger document. Once you have an XML database, you can perform operations on collections of document, as easily as you can perform operations on individual documents, so the need to aggregate the individual documents together disappears.
If you store each user document as a seperate document then your delete will work as expected.

I use iTunes Match so I can't confirm this on my computer (my Music tab looks different), but as I recall, on the Music tab you have the option to check to sync selected playlists, artists and genres, and then check which playlists you want to sync below that. Then, like songs, you would uncheck the playlists you don't want on your phone and sync to remove them.

How can I delete only shared instance of a member from Hyperion Planning

Can anyone tell me how I can instruct the Hyperion Planning IKM to delete a only specific instance of a shared member from Hyperion Planning? I've tried specifying the shared member, the parent of the shared instance, 'Shared' as the data storage type, and 'Delete level 0' as the operation. Instead of deleting just the shared instance under the specified parent, however, the IKM deleted the base member, which in turn deleted all shared instances of the member and all the data for the member (lucky thing I'm working in a development environment!). At one point I thought I had things working as I wanted, but now I think I must have mistaken.
Does anyone know definitively whether only a specific instance of a shared member can be deleted from Planning and, if so, exactly how to do it?

Well, with a careful review of my ODI interfaces and some additional testing I found my problem. My interface for one dimension was defined exactly as it should be and it worked as expected, whereas I found I had failed to activate the mapping for the data storage property in my interface for another dimension (DOH!). Naturally, the latter interface deleted the base member because the default data storage property value is 'Store'.

RAW+JPG, how can I delete only JPG ?

I have a lot of photos with the same name in two format: raw+jpg. Is it possible to delete only those jpg when photo is in raw+jpg ?

John, not really. I would also follow Dorins advice.
Because if you just delete the JPGs outside of LR, LRs catalog will still show a JPG as sidecar to the RAW (marked by RAW+JPG), This by itself might not be disturbing, but when you later try to move or delete such a RAW file from within LR, you get an error message saying your JPEG sidecar is missing.

Can i delete only SOME items from trash

I ran out of space on my internal hard drive, and installed a new external drive to hold my data files: music, photos, documents, etc.
After I copied those to the new drive (couldn't figure out how to move them), I deleted the files from the internal drive. Now, I am worried that if I empty the trash, I may lose something valuable--even those iphoto, imusic, numbers and pages all are finding things just fine. Even my intenet downloads are going to the new drive.
Am I wrong in holding off this "empty?" Is my internal drive still full, therefore not giving me any advantage?

Yes, you cannot selectively erase the contents of the trash.

It is never crazy to worry before erasing what may be the only copy of material...just a little healthy paranoia
After moving the material to the external drive, open the drive and be sure the material is there, spot check some of the files to be sure the sizes are correct, open some and see they are correct. If all looks good, then empty the trash. That way you have done all you can to be sure you are not losing your important content.
Remember that old carpenter guidance, measure twice, cut once. Be sure your stuff is safe and then erase.

How can I delete ONLY the GPS coordinates from my Hi Res images WITHOUT "Save four Web" or Lightroom

I take hi res pics of rare wildlife and plants with both my Camera's and iPhone's GPS deliberately ENABLED. Use the photos and their GPS coordinates to document and plot my sightings with dates on maps. CANNOT disclose those locations to others. I do want to keep the metadata in my pics to the very end.
Use Photohop Extended CS 6 MAC. Save files as hi res TIFF or PSD and sometimes e-mail/upload my pics to the web when I'm done.
I CANNOT use "Save for Web" to delete my metadata — I don't want the jpeg's lossy compression. Need to preserve color profiles.
Don't have Lightroom.
How do use Photoshop to remove ONLY the GPS coordinates from my hi res images EXIF data??? Want to keep other EXIF data.
Surely Adobe can provide this life-saving service?

Yep, as others mentioned, just use Bridge and delete the entries there. You can select a whole batch of files and do them all at once.

instrx from delete from icloud doesn't work if the song you want to delete is not in your library (duplicate songs were deleted long ago. these songs do no appear on older ios versions

You will need to purchase the upgrade CD for 10.6 from the Apple Online store, OR you can likely get one at an Apple Retail Store. It is the last version that was available on CD. After 10.6, the upgrades are available in the Mac App Store.

Purchased song grayed out and can not delete

I purchase a song and received a permission error. I clicked OK and assumed the download completed. I then purchase another song. There was no error message. Both songs appear in my Music and Purchase folders but the first song is grayed out with an exclamation mark in the first column. I tried to download it again and received a warning message saying I had already downloaded it and a second download would result in a duplicate. I tried to delete the grayed out download and could not.

No available downloads under Store>Check for Available Downloads, but I found a "Download" folder under the "Store" folder. Clicked on that and selected resume and the download completed. The Downloaded folder the disappeared. All is well.

To mark a G/L account master record for deletion, proceed as follows from the general ledger menu:
Select Master records->Mark for deletion.
Enter the G/L account number and company code, and press ENTER.
If you set the Mark for deletion indicator in the Status in chart of accounts section, the system deletes the G/L account master record in all company codes that use this chart of accounts.
If you set the Mark for deletion indicator in the Status in company code section, the system deletes the G/L account master record in the company code that is listed in the top section of the screen.
Choose G/L account->Save to delete this G/L account master record.
You can set or remove this indicator at anytime, as long as the master record has not been physically deleted.

Give it time. Yahoo has had persistent issues the past few weeks. wait 24 hours or so and then try again.

Can we delete key member through update_project API

Hi,
My requirement is that if project start date is greater than system date, then during update of such projects, I have to delete exsiting key member and add new key member. I am not able to delete existing key member and also didn't find any way/ parameter which can be passed in update_project api so that it will delete existing key member. I am using project_role_tbl_type for adding/updating key members.
If anybody have any idea, please share it with me.

Previously it was possible to delete non-downloaded episodes from the List View, but this has been removed. However in 'My Podcasts' view you have an 'old episodes' button to show un-downloaded ones. When you click 'Done' these disappear again, but you can choose to show selected episodes in the main view by clicking on the grey circle at right of the title.
Of course downloaded episodes and entire podcasts can be deleted in the usual way by clicking once and hitting the delete key.

Can't delete certain files

I have a few files on an xServe drive that I am trying to delete. They are not being used by any application and I have no applications open, yet I can not delete them. I keep getting the error, "The operation cannot be completed because the item "item name" is in use."
Other files can be deleted, only a select few continue to give me this error. Any solutions??

What are the files?
Just because you don't have any GUI applications open, that doesn't mean that there isn't some background process that's still using the files.
Alternatively, even if the file is not open, it could be marked in such a way as to prevent it being deleted - either through flags on the file, or access controls on the directory. This is especially true for system-related files, but individual user files could be locked, too.

You can't delete a dimension through a rules file. Do you mean you want to delete all members before rebuilding the same dimension or actually remove the dimension altogether?
The only way to remove a dimension is to have a 'template' or 'stub' outline without the dimension and copy it over your real outline (probably after clearing all data). If what you really want is to rebuild the dimension containing only the members in your source, then the 'Remove Unspecified' dimension build setting can be used.
