Songs missing / not downloaded after they were purchased

The last two albums I purchased and downloaded from the iTunes store did not fully download. Songs are missing. During the 'download' process, there were some error messages that came up for some songs. Ultimately, I never did get all these songs and I've paid for them! Any ideas as to what went wrong and what I could do to rectify the problem? Thanks.

Go to the iTunes Store and click on "Purchased" on the right side of the page.
Then go to the Music tab where you can redownload those songs for free.

You did not make a backup of your computer before you erased it?

Had to have my hard drive rebuilt in my PC (not a Mac).  When I reinstalled my music library from itunes, some of the songs did not properly download.  They appear in light colored ink, but will not play and will not synch with my iPod.  How can I get all of my songs back?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

I downloaded an album, and the download was interrupted.  I went to the Store and completed the download, but several songs now appear as partial copies - they end ~ half way through.  Is there any way to complete the download?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entries, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • Purchase a song, song does not download or appear in purchases

I've been having an issue lately where half the stuff I purchase just doesn't download or appear in my purchased songs. The money still dissapears from my balance but nothing downloads. Is anyone else having this problem?
    I'm on OS X Lion 10.7.4
    Macbook pro

camoracer, you are right, there is no fault to cause the ipod not to show trackdata, so it must not have been put on there,
    back to the big problem:
Id say a number of things it could be:
USB CABLE (try a different cable)
USB PORT (try a different port)
DRIVER (make sure the ipod drivers are installed0
And as a final try, put the ipod in hardware disk mode ( centre button and menu [ipod resets] as soon as it has started to reset press centre button and play/pause together, a tick should appear See:http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651 for more info.)
and see if it shows up then.

  • ITunes icloud songs suddenly not downloading

Hey y'all, ran into a little trouble. I clicked on the little cloud icons with the arrows that are next to some of my songs to download them to my library. Everything was working great until it just stopped downloading them for some reason. The iTunes download window has been on my screen for the past hour not doing anything. I clicked pause all then resumed, but still nothing. It'd be great if someone could help me out please!

    Hello way-south,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when downloading songs from iTunes in the Cloud.
First, I recommend checking to see if the downloads were interrupted.  You can use the steps in this article:
iTunes: How to resume interrupted iTunes Store downloads
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1725
If the songs do not download after following the steps in that article, I recommend trying to download the songs from the list of past purchases.  As long as you are signed in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase the songs, you will not be charged again.

After installing ios5 and having had to change my apple id to e-mail address I am unable to download updates as they were purchased under my previous id and it will not allow me to get back into the old id  Help please.

Make sure you enter your new Id in settings/message, settings/facetime.  ANy content that you downloaded with the old ID is forever linked to that old ID and if you have apps that were downloaded with the old ID and you want to update them you can only do that with the old ID.  You could delete those apps and downlad them again ( and pay for them if they are not free apps)

I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.
No answers here, but you are definitely not alone with this issue.

I recently had to get a new windows computer, old one crashed. My tech guy got all my itunes library over to the new one, and all my songs are there. However, some won't play and ask me for the password for the apple id they were purchased under. 2 of these ids are obsolete and I have no access to those accts. The songs all played on my old computer without prompting me for a password.
Any ideas how I can get around this hassle and get them all to play? We're talking about 800 songs that are being obstinate. The new computer is authorized under my "new" Apple id, which I have used for years.

Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later.  Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list, or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.  Apple notes it is your responsibility to back up your purchases.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

  • Why will my brand new iPod touch allow me to purchase songs but not download them?

Can someone tell me why my new iPod touch is allowing me to buy songs but not downloading the songs currently being purchased?  The new songs actually show up on my iPad but not my iPod which is the device they were purchased on.

Try configuring your iCloud sync settings for music across devices, also go to the iTunes app hit more, then purchased and then hit the download button

  • HELP!!  I'm missing about 30 songs and a book!  They were just here!

I tried to backup my itouch yesterday and I think it deleted about 30+ songs and a book. They were all here yesterday...but now they are gone! I can prove I purchased them all through the purchase history on my itunes account. But they are gone from my itouch. All of my other songs seem to be in tact (about 128). Just these 30+ songs and the book. They just disappeared! Will apple let me get them back? About $40 worth of music!

Nope; that's the thing. I thought I synced up my itouch yesterday. But I went to listen to my audio book tonight it was gone. So I checked my itunes library and it wasn't there either. Then I also noticed a lot of my music wasn't there as well. So I checked my itouch a little more thoroughly and that too is missing music1 So something really bad must have happened. basically, I'm missing about 30+ songs and a book. for what its worth, I can prove I purchased everything based on my itunes purchase history. I guess I'm just wondering or hoping Apple will let me download again.

  • Purchased albums, some songs did not download, although i was billed for them.

I recently purchased 2 albums on iTunes, although I was billed for them, 3 songs did not download, they are not in the 'to be downloaded' screen either.  At first they did show up in my Purchase file, however, there was a large black dot by them and they were grayed out.  Is there anyway to restore them or do I have to call support? I tried reporting it, but it wouldn't do anything.

I purchased an album and some of the songs did not download completely. How can I fix this?

I have the EXACT issue as Hatchs88 and the response doesn't help. I found a 3 of 4 missing songs as "song".tmp file in the music directory but I can't do anything here... The iTunes store just says purchased and it doesn't the songs show up in the purchased list either. What's funny is that I was able to download on an iPod touch but I cant get it on my PC...
