Songs not showing up in iPod. Please help!

Okay, today I noticed that there are select songs not showing up on my iPod touch.
I make playlists for all my music...and some songs will be in the playlists, and some aren't.
So when I search for the songs with artists or song name, it's actually ON my iPod and I can play it. Just not in the playlist I put it in.
So I check on iTunes to make sure they are in the playlist, and they are. And playable.
So why aren't some of the songs selectable in the playlists? They are on the iPod, but just not in the playlists. PLEASE HELP

Songs not showing up in iPod...

Hello, I was hoping I could get some help here.
I dowlnoaded 3 new songs to itunes (from a folder on my computer; I used File>Add Folder to Library) but for some reason they do not show up on my ipod. The songs are in mp3 format, so I do not think I need to convert them. Usually, syncing the ipod in itunes helps, but the little bar that is supposed to show up on top when your ipod is syncing...doesn't.
Any help is greatly appreciated

I don't know what kind of computer you have. If you have a Window's PC it's possible it added the files to your folder "Music" "iTunes" "iTunes Music". If you are able to view the files in your "Music Folder" and they are not in your iTunes Library when you open iTunes. Then find the songs in your "Music" folder and double left click on each song. It should automatically import them into iTunes. I'm not sure why add folder to library did not work.

Hey, well recently i bought a new 80GB (5th Generation) Ipod. and it was working fine until one day it kept freezing so i plugged it into my computer and it kept saying to restore it so i kept restoring it, but after that it kept on saying it was corrupted again!! And then the summary pops up and all it says is: Ipod, then everything else has N/A i have no idea what to do, please help me, all i have been doing is restoring this but thats not working right now! i cant find anything to help me, please someone help me! It's my 2nd Ipod and i dont want this one to break on me too!!!

Finder requires password to delete files, Trash does not show deleted files. Please help me resolve.

Deleting folders/files causes the password pop up interface to appear, does not seem to matter where the file/folder is. After deleting, it should appear in the trash, but does not. Moving files is not affected, with the exception of moving files into Trash. This did not happen in the morning.
Accessing ~/.Trash gives following message "The folder “.Trash” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents." .Trash is hidden, and i can't view its permission from the Get info page.
I am the owner of the laptop, i don't understand why this is happening. The other thread with similar problems involved a software upgrade and had problems with moving files also, whereas my MBP was okay this morning, i didn't do anything else from then till now.
i did a ls -al ~ on the terminal, relevant lines as follows

compared to desktop, which i had no problems (yet, not sure)

i don't understand the notation, reading up about them does not clarify any more then to confuse me further.

    sudo rm -Rf ~/.Trash

My podcast artwork is not showing up... please help!

Hi there. I have submitted my podcast to iTunes and received the email almost a week ago that it was accepted. It is showing up in iTunes, but the artwork is not showing up and I have no clue what to do to make it show up properly.

The image is correctly referenced in the feed, and there is a file at that address. It's not unusual for it to take several days after a podcast first appears in the Store before the image appears, so it's just a matter of waiting.

Pdfs and MP3s in iTunes Folder not showing up iTunes Library - Please Help

Hi, I am running iTunes 10.7 on a 15 inch MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 4 GB of RAM using OS X 10.7.5.
My problem is that when I bring the latest set of pdf and MP3 files I added do not show up in my iTunes library. If I go through the finder they are in the iTunes folder, but they will not display or play.

They will not play or display even outside of iTunes? Not with Quicktime Player (for the mp3s) or Preview (for the PDFs)? If that's the case the files are probably corrupt.
Adding items to iTunes and not having them appear in the library is a recurring problem with newer versions for some.
Try restarting iTunes.
Check your recently added playlist. If they are there, try temporarily editing an item in the name, then restart iTunes and see if it appears.
Start iTunes, immediately hold down the option key and create a new, test library. Add the files to it. Do they add? If yes, then they are readable by iTunes. Go back to your old library using hte option key thing again.

Ipod nano not showing up on Itunes - PLEASE HELP!

I recently had a problem with my nano 4 GB so I restored it to its original factory settings. Now when I plug it in to the computer it shows up in My COmputer but NOT in Itunes. I tried the troubleshooting techniques on the apple ipod suppport page for this problem and they didnt work. When I plug in my 4 GB Mini ipod, it shows up on Itunes so Its not a problem with itunes or the cable.
SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!!! i would reeeallly like to avoid having it serviced. THank you!

Songs not showing on 30gig iPod, but are showing on iTunes when attached

Hello. My iPod has about 5.25 gig of music, video and podcasts loaded. It was working fine. I connected it to my computer to charge and the next time I tried to use it, nothing is showing up on the iPod itself. However, when I reconnect it to my computer, the iPod shows up under Source and all of the playlists and songs are there. Also, when I go into Settings > About, it says Songs 0, Videos 0, Photos 0, Capacity 27.8 GB, Available 22.5 GB, Version 1.1.1, model MA146LL. Thanks for any help!

That backup only works if you have the files on the computer not on the ipod. You have the ability to take all the data off of your ipod but it will duplicate everything that is already in the library. To do this follow these steps:
This is what you will want to do, you will want to go into the tools menu in your windows explorer. Select folder options, click on the view tab. Once you are on the view tab, click on the folder that says hidden files and folders. On the hidden files and folders click show hidden files and folders. Then click ok on the folder options window. When you open the ipod now you will see the ipod control folder. In that folder there will be a music folder. Open that. There will be a number of folders that will begin with F00 you will want to go into the folder and you will see a bunch of song files with coded names. You will want to drag them to where it says library in itunes. The songs will automatically rename themselves to the correct name. Go through each one of the folders like this and your library will be restored.
The only thing that I would tell you is that this will duplicate all the songs in your library. So I would clear your entire library before you start this process

Songs not showing up in playlist! Help!

I made a new playlist on my computer and it said it had 56 songs on it. I put it on my ipod (all of the songs are the correct format). If i click on the playlist under my ipod icon in my itunes it says 56 songs just like it was supposed to. But if i go to listen to the playlist on my ipod it says there are only 51 songs. Why aren't all the songs showing up???? HELP!!!

Is this a smart playlist? If so, it could be related to the known bug where a playlist's content and sort order don't match iTunes. There is a workaround for that though, just edit the playlist by adding the criteria "Playlist Is Music", where "Music" is the general category in iTunes for music items.
If that's not it, it could be that some of your songs are tagged as "Skip when shuffling", so when your iPod is in shuffle mode they won't show up in the playlist.

Nano Songs not showing up in iPod "other" category is 2.11gb, but no audio

Hi, I just got my iPod Nano 4GB today.
I had 500 songs on earlier, plugged it back into the computer to charge, a screen with "AutoSync" popped up and it ran. Now when I go in iPod ALL my songs are gone. iTunes says my iPod has 2.11GB used for "Other" and 1.58GB free. So something is on the iPod, but I cant find it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks MS

I am adding them as normal via itunes - dragging and dropping as my ipod is set up for manual rather than automatic update. Have been using an ipod for about four years and always done it this way without a problem.
The ipod is showing up in itunes, but as if it is empty (ie no music showing up) despite the fact that it says 25G is being used. Also, all the music i transferred yesterday onto the ipod - which is the only thing showing up as if it is on there when you look at it on itunes - is not actually on there at all....
It's a mystery!

My iPod is showing up in iTunes, but none of the songs or playlists can be seen on the iPod or on the computer .. Sometimes, right after I connect the iPod to the computer, there's a yellow baloon which tells me that the file or directory \iPod_Control\iTunes\iTunesPref is corrupt and unreadable and I should run the Chdsk utility. What is This Chdsk utility anyway?

Okay, I have restored my iPod and also managed to copy some songs in iTunes which now also show up on the iPod. Which is great. But that only happened once.
Right after I copied one music album in iTunes, the iPod disconnected itself. This happens now everytime I connect the iPod to the computer and iTunes gets started..
what should I do?

Songs not Showing Up!!! Help

I have a rather bizarre problem. I have eight (8) songs from the group "Styx" on my iPhone. When on the portrait view in ipod mode in the artists tab, I can click
"Styx" and all eight songs show up. However, when turning to landscape (coverflow) and I select "Styx", I just see one song. All eight songs are in the same album, etc. and are not otherwise different. Why is just this one showing in coverflow instead of all eight? "Styx" is not the only group of songs I'm having problems with. Probably have 10-15 albums doing this same thing.

Are you sure they arent just each showing up under a different play list in coverflow? It seems the only way to fix problems thats recommended on this forum is either to remove the actuals files and reload them or restore your iphone. Im guessing removing them and reloading them under a new playlist should fix this problem. However, im really unsure why this would happen. I think its possible they are showing up individually in cover flow. If not, remove and reload.

Which songs are synced to my ipod, please help!

Earlier today i played my ipod and it had all the music on it i liked, this evening i added a few more songs to my itunes while my ipod nano was not connected. When i went to sync them together to add on my new songs, my itunes said something about being synced to another itunes and if i wanted to sync my origonal music, i ticked this box thinking it would still have all the music on i payed for and the songs i downloaded. Instead it came up with lodes of old songs that i deleted ages ago. I was thinking it may of been synced to another itunes a while ago and this has happaned before but i did the right thing then. I just really want the music back I have payed for and cant seem to get them by going to the store menu for some reasoon? please help

Your music will only be where you put it. it should be on your computer and included in your regular backup of your computer.
