Songs not transferring correctly

I got a new computer and in order to transfer the songs from my ipod to that computer i had to deauthorize any other devices linked with that ipod.when i plugged in my ipod and clicked "transfer purchases", nothing showed up in my library.. i tried syncing it several times and it isnt working. i havent lost any music but i just dont understand why its so hard to get the music from my ipod on to my computer... ive been able to do it in the past. does anyone know what the problem might be? ive also bought songs on itunes and now they arent in my library so ive wasted about 10 dollars. please help!

You may need to convert the files into a different format, for instance if you import in MP3, you're getting not as good quality as you have the opportunity to. At the moment I am under WAV, but you may try AAC or Apple Lossless encoder.
This could be the case, but I'm not guaranteeing because I have never experienced this. I suppose your drivers could need updating, or a virus has attacked your sound card, and yes that does happen, but that's the worst case..dont want to think about that, just attempt what I suggested and if it doesnt work, report back and I'll keep searching your problem.

This is a bug.
We all have it.
Keep CP4 for the old courses, and develop new ones in CP5. That is what I am doing.
Alternative is to manually adjust everything (don't even get me started on rollovers...)

Songs not transfering right

I have a 60g photo and the songs are not syncing correctly. Some songs are shown on my ipod as being shorter or longer than they actually are and others have snippets of songs interlaced with one another. Almost like the files are corrupted, but the files on my computer and in my itunes play normally. ANyone ever heard of this happening?

Well, you can always check your left space direct from your iPod (Menu/Settings/About) or from iTunes (when sync, on the bottom of the page). I don't know if appears a message when you have no more space...

Captivate 8 (C8) not transferring correct slide resolution from PowerPoint (PPT)

I am tasked with transferring quite a number of PPT presentations into C8. I have come across a few 'bugs' and am trying to solve them, one by one.
Today's issue: slides from PPT are not transfering into C8 with the correct screen resolution. The first thing I noticed about my slide transfer was that the titles in my PPT slides are not in the same position when transfered over into C8, and the font is pixilated. Even when I go into PPT and make changes, save those changes and then update the file in C8, I still have a problem with the titles not being in the correct spot. I know they are off because the titles appear within a band of silver, with a thick, brown bar above them in PPT. In C8, the titles are squished into the brown bar with too much space left over in the silver band -

This is using the default 10" x 7.5" aspect ratio in PPT, and the pixel equivalent in C8 of 720x540. The font is BANK GOTHIC.
(BTW: I found a chart here - I Came, I Saw, I Learned...: PowerPoint: Changing Slide Sizes for Importing into Captivate which is not correct. For instance, this chart suggests a slide resolution of 10.5" x 7" would transfer over into C8 as1008 px x 672px. This size is incorrect; it still produces incorrect slide resolution. And there is no way to use this chart for custom slide sizes).
When I changed the font (to CENTURY GOTHIC), I did get a better result in the position of my title:

However, I am still experiencing the pixilation of the font. I closed this project out of C8 without saving and then re-transfered the files. This time, I went with the C8 default resolution of 960x720 - this translates in Powerpoint to 13.333" x 10". NOT the same slide setting I have in PPT, which is 10" x 7.5" however, this looks much better, with less pixilation of the font within the work area. When I publish it out, the pixilation goes away and the font is smooth again.
My conclusion: some fonts do not transfer well into C8, and screen resolutions differ from PPT, Photoshop and C8. If you are having difficulties getting your PPT slides to look the same in C8, it could be your font is not transfering well, or it could be your screen resolution.

Not really an answer, but the big problem IMO is that PPT, although a presentation tool that will use screens (or projection systems) defines a project in printing units (inches or cm) which is totally crazy. Captivate is a bit more normal for that aspect, it uses pixels to define the size. And screens, devices no longer have all 72ppi. Sorry for the ranting...already commented that way when PPT first appeared (used better applications like Freelance Graphics for presentation, they are now killed by PPT). Contrary to Adobe, MS never listens to comments, reported several bugs in MS Project as well, they are still present in the latest version 15years later.

Soem songs not transferring

There are about 15 songs in my library that are not transferring to my I-pod. I am not getting any error messages. Is there any easy way I can tell which ones aren't transferring so I can fix it?

Do the songs play in iTunes?
Are there exclamation points next to the songs?
Do you get any error messages?

Unicode characters not transferred correctly to mysql from oracle

Hi,
We are transferring data from Oracle11g to MySQL5.5 using DG4ODBC. Data is getting transferred successfully to MySQL, but the Characters like Russian, Chinese etc. are not transferred succesfully. They are shown as ? in MySQL database and even with GUI tools like sqldevelopper or squirrel.
Oracle Uses NLS_Character set is AL32UTF8 and MySQL database is UTF8.
Oracle version is 11.1.0.6.0
MySQL is 5.5.
unixODBC 2.2.11, comes from redhat for RHEL 5
I tried setting HS_LANGUAGE=american_america.al32utf8, but no luck.
Can someone please give hint to configure gateway initialization parameters or some other configuration which is required to support all language characters during transfer.

Updated to the versions you suggested..Now receiving below error when trying to transfer data from oracle to Mysql using DBMS_HS_PASSTHROUGH.
Actually written procedure to transfer all records..it works on few tables, but throws below error when transferring data from other tables.

Song not transferring from itunes to ipod shuffle?

New songs not syncing to Ipod shuffle. Getting message on 1 of the 2 songs -"cannot transfer to IPOD because an unknown error occurred.

Does the song play properly when you play it in iTunes (on your computer)?
Was this a download from the iTunes Store? If not, do a Get Info (in iTunes) on the song. On the Summary tab of the Info window, what does it say for Kind and Bit Rate?

Music not transferring correctly to ipod

I am quite confused. All of music is very well organized in both my music files on my computer as well as itunes. However, when I transferred my music into itunes some of the songs that correspond with the same albums will not stay together. For example, in my itunes library there are certain artists which I have more than one album from, and they will all be well organized and lined up correctly except for a remaining few that I cannot get to line up with the rest of the album even though I have renamed the artist and album name exactly the same in my itunes library. They should all line up together as one album, but instead they are at the end of the list of the artist.

Why Can't I get those at the end named Abbey Road To line up with the ones above named Abbey Road. I have about 5 albums that I am having problems with.
So then when I transferred my music to my ipod I am having the same problems. The Abbey Road songs that are at the end that should be at the top are coming up on my ipod as a whole new line with only those three songs in the artist. So I have one Beatles line with all 5 albums I have corresponding with that line then I have a second Beatles line with only the three songs from Abbey Road when in fact they should all be in the first line.
It's not a huge problem; however, it is one that is quite annyoing. I'm sure there is a way to easily fix it I just don't know how to.

Songs not in correct folder--how do I get them there???

I saved, for gods know why,all my songs to a music folder I created.I recently discovered that when you import a cd it automatically saves it to "itunes folder" in "my music" with a subfolder created for the artist eg AC/DC and then another subfolder for album and then the songs named correctly eg Hells Bells1.m4a
In my other folder which I created each folder is named from F00 all the way to F49. Each one of these folders contain different amount of files(songs).Some have for example 39 or 65 or 54 files in them and are named like HXUJ.m4a or FMCD.m4a. So basically how do I get these to the proper itunes folder with their correct names.....

Garageband 08' songs not opening correctly in GB 11'

I have multiple songs recorded in Garageband 08' on my iMac that I've dropped into the Dropbox application. However, when I open these songs on my Macbook Air that runs Garageband 11', I get the same error message "Audio file NoEffects#11.aif not found" with the option to search or skip. Skipping or searching does no good...when the song opens up, the tracks are blank with a line through them and have no sound. I've read that Garageband 11 should be backwards compatible, thus I'm not sure why this is happening. Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

When I showed package contents those tracks indeed were missing. There actually were a few tracks that were there and were playable in GB 11' but they had no effects on them (They do have effects on the master file in GB 08'). What would make some of the tracks copy but others go missing? It makes no sense. My most recent project I started a week ago, and it didn't copy ANY of the tracks. Plus, it is extremely discouraging for the effects not to copy over with the tracks. I wouldn't want to go through 20 tracks and re-add every single effect to each. Why aren't they saving/copying/crossing over correctly?

Songs not transferring from iTunes to iPod puzzle

I update my iPod fairly regularly (mostly for podcasts) and I've noticed recently that a small number of songs aren't being transferred to my iPod when I sync it.
I converted one song that wasn't transferring from an mp3 format to an aac but still no joy. The songs play fine in iTunes and I've tried a manual update in just transferring the one song but that hasn't worked either.
Any ideas anyone?

The songs that are not appearing on your ipod, are they from artists that you have multiple songs? If so, I believe I might know the problem. There is a bug, and I will explain it the simplest way I know how to.
Let's say that I have 3 songs by Led Zeppelin, "Whole Lotta Love", "Black Dog", and "Moby Dick". Now, if I gave "Black Dog" a album title, and I left the other two blank, on your ipod it will skip the album select screen and go straight to "Black Dog", preventing you from selecting the other two. This will also happen if you have 2 songs (let's say "Whole Lotta Love" and "Moby Dick") labeled with the same album title, while your other songs are unlabeled.
To fix this problem, you must either give another song from the specific artist a different album title from the other labeled ones. Then the ipod will go to the album select screen, and allow you to select "All" which will display all of your labeled and unlabeled songs.

Artists, Albums & Songs not organized correctly

I have a first gen, 32G touch running version 2.2.1. All of my music is displayed in alphabetical order (under Artist, Albums and Songs) however they are not correctly shown under the Letter heading. Example: Under the Letter Heading of "G" it shows Artists that begin with "G", "H" and some "J". Any help on how to correct would be appreciated.

Try to reset your iPod. Hold down the sleep and home buttons for at least 10 seconds, ignore the slider to turn it off, let go when you see the Apple logo.

Song not syncing correctly to device

I downloaded a song from itunes to my laptop and synced to my iPhone. Originally, it only downloaded the first minute or so of the song on both.I re-downloadedthesong to my laptop and it downloaded correctly and in full. However, when I sync myiPhone, it still is not syncing the full song to my phone, only the first minute or so, even though the full song is now on my laptop.

I have just started to have trouble playing my playlists on the iPhone. It started to shuffle them and when I turned shuffle off, it would only play one song over and over again. You have to open the iPod and manually advance to the next song. That is obviously unsatifactory. I downloaded the update on the iTunes software today. That did not correct the problem. I also restored the settings on the phone. It wtill will not play a playlist in the order I have it. There is some problem here. I would also be happy to hear a reply on this issue.

Songs not transfering completely

alright so i noticed that after i transferred some songs to my 30 gig and started listening it, one of my songs thats around 5:40 was cutting off after about 3:20. I thought it was just skipping the rest of the song but when i looked on my ipod to put the song back to the exact time where it skips i noticed that, that point in the song was the end and its not supposed to be. It happened with about 2 other songs. So i looked on itunes and the time on the songs was just like on my ipod. To get it back to normal i went to Get Info>options and just wrote the time on the track ovver again and then the time went back to normal.
But i just want to know if anything like this has ever happened to any1 before.

I've just updated itunes on Windows, thought they might have solved the problem.... They didn't.
Some songs keep cutting off at the 2.37 mark around there.....
Otherwise all songs are fully playable on VLC and windows media.
What is it? the coding or LAME??
I see this problem has been around for some time without any help from Apple/iTunes to fix and a simple fix at that.....
I shouldn't have to delve into the computer system to find this and alter that.. A simple fix is what needed here.

Purchased songs not transferring in autosync

Songs that I've purchased on iTunes and are listed in "purchased" and my "library" will not transfer to my nano during autosync. Don't know if this is a software or hardware issue but I have been successfully purchasing and transferring songs from iTunes to my new nano via an autosync for a while(plug in nano to computer while logged into iTunes and automatically transferring all music in the library.) Any suggestions on how to get the missing songs transferred to my nano?

first do a reset on your nano -
hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo
then try loading the music again
