Songs out of Album Order on iPod

All my songs appear in the correct album order in iTunes. But for a few albums they are all jumbled up on my iPod Touch. So for example, one particular album will have all the tracks appearing in ascending order from 1 to 10 in iTunes. However, on the iPod, they appear as 1, 3, 5, 2, 7, 9, 4, 6, 8, 10. I have ensured that all the details of each song in the album match up completely, i.e. the same year, artist, composer etc., but re-syncing the iPod makes no difference. Any ideas as to how this can be remedied?

I have ensured that all the details of each song in the album match up completely, i.e. the same year, artist, composer etc.
So when you checked the "details" with the Get Info window for the song, did you look in the Info tab to verify that the +Track Number+, 1 of 11, 2 of 11, etc... was entered correctly for each song in the album set?

  • ITunes store songs out of album order

I have a problem with two albums I've bought throught iTunes - the songs are out of order (as they should be on the album). On one album, one of the songs was part of a celebrity playlist when I bought it, and on the other, one of the songs was a single of the week.
Now, those two songs won't be put in the right order with the rest of the album - they both appear as the first song of the album. I've tried changing all of the album and song info under "Get Info" - they're named right, they have the right album liste, and have the right track number - but they still appear as the first track of the ablum in my library and on my iPod.
Other than making a playlist for the album and manually arrangin the tracks, how can I fix this in my library?

  • First song on all albums on my iPod classic timing pauses causing click wheel to freeze. Why?

I have a iPod classic 120g 6th generation, and have no major problems since I recieved a replacement one back in 2011 when the hard drive went bad. Just recently my iPod has sbeen freezing at the 2 second of every first song on every album on my iPod. This is causing my iPod's click wheel to become unresponsive for at least 30 seconds everytime. Can this issue be fixed or not without me purchasing a 7th genration one? It will be my fifth ipod if I do have to.

I finally resolved my problem after spending way too much time on it. I simply handed my 160GB iPod to my husband to put his fav Stones & Beatles songs on and I went back to my 80GB Microsoft Zune which has never disappointed me.
After spending so much time trying to figure this out I did finally take it back to Apple Store who performed a diagnostic and found there was a problem with the device. They replaced it with a refurbished one which has similar issues. All I wanted to do was listen to my music. Was that too much to ask? So I am happy to be free of this problematic device. No more Apple for me!!

  • I bought a song and an album on my iPod touch last night..

So last night I bought a song and an album on my iPod touch and when I synced it to my computer none of the songs transferred to my PC and now the songs are gone from my iPod touch. The only thing left is the audiobooklet. So how can I get the songs back?? And the songs aren't showing up as purchased on my iPod touch.
If this makes any sense PLEASE help me (:

Look in your purchase history to see if it shows as purchased. If not, then just purchase again.
If it does show as purchased then try:
In itunes click Store>Check for Available Downloads and see if it shows up.
If not, try attaching the ipod and, in itunes, click File>Transfer Purchases.
If these do not work, the go to purchase history and click "Report a Problem".

  • Certain songs are being reordered in my albums on my iPod Classic when I synch to iTunes.  They appear correct in iTunes, but out of order on the iPod.  I want to be able to put the songs back in album order. Anyone see this?

This bug also seems to affect songs I have played recently.  This is for albums, not self-made playlists.

    Hi Thunderflare99,
Are the affected albums consisting of more than one artist per album (eg. a compilation)?
If so then go into iTunes with your iPod plugged in, click on the iPod tab, select the songs in that album, right click, click on 'Get info' and then click on the 'Options' tab. Then, tick the box saying 'Part of a compilation'.
    Good Luck,
    Stefan

  • Issue: songs appear out of "album order" on iPad

I am using current version of iTunes on IOS7.03 on my iPad 2.  iTunes library (v11.1.3) is on Mac w/OS 10.9.
All is fine on the Mac; issue on this iPad.
Songs within each album are no longer in "album order" (1,2,3,4 etc)
    HOW do I correct this?

It sounds like you might have the "Shuffle" option sellected. Go to the CONTROL menu and go to SHUFFLE. If it is on, turn off Shuffle. Read about "Shuffle" under the help menu.

  • Track appears out of album order

    Image: http://mattgcn.tumblr.com/photo/1280/345826501/1/tumblr_kwlh2yE20v1qzl3jr
Basically, no matter what bulk-tag-editing, renaming or anything I do to this file, it refuses to show up AFTER track 1

Your image lacks the column headings which might help pin down the exact cause, but the numbers on the left suggest we're looking at playlist. Select this column and you ought to be able to drag the tracks into any order you choose. For general advice on grouping & sorting see Use an album friendly view and Tracks out of sequence.

  • How to keep Single Songs out of Album View?  iTunes11

What is the proper way to label singles so that Album View does not contain an 'Unknown Album' for each artist with at least one song?
You would think leaving the 'album artist' and the 'album' field blank it would not put that song in album view, but that is not the case in iTunes 11.  This is how it works on my phone (4S) (iOS 6.0.1) .
A work-around is to label all singles with the correct artist and title, but label all singles with the same album artist (i.e. 'various artists') and with the same album (i.e. 'singles'), but if you did that iTunes will automatically move all the files from the correct artist folder into one giant 'various artists' folder. (if the 'keep itunes media folder organized box is checked)
What is the best practice to resolve this nearly useless album view function?

A cleaner solution is to create a playlist with your running albums, then update the other smart playlists with "Playlist" not in "Running Albums".
That way, you don't need to update each and every playlist when you add a new running album, you just need to put it in the Running Albums playlist.

  • Skipping only particular songs on particular albums

I have a 4th gen. photo iPod. Recently I downloaded two Sigur Ross albums: () and Takk... Only one song on the ( ) album plays, but iPod just skips through the rest. The iPod will not play any songs on the Takk... album at all. I have restored the iPod once already, and it worked for the ( ) album, but when I downloaded the Takk... album, it went back to only playing the one song.
The songs play fine in iTunes, though.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jason

I had the same problem and playlists aren't my preference because I want to manage my music using a check box in the main library window not a playlist. I struggled to get this to work because the wording is confusing in the new iTunes layout.
Here's what you have to do (some are obvious but I'm being thorough):
(I started by unselecting all my songs in my music library to start fresh with my iPod - if you already have your desired songs selected, the following steps should sync only the selected songs in your main library)
    1. Plug in your iPhone/iPod
    2. Click on the Summary button and check "sync only checked songs and videos" in the Options section
    3. Click Apply
    4. (Here's what got me) Click the Music button and check Entire music library NOT "Selected playlists, artists and genres"
    5. Click Apply if it shows, otherwise, click Sync
Once you've set it up this way, you can add/remove music to your device by checking it in your main library screen.
    Hope this helps!

  • My music is organized on my computer but the songs under the albums are out of order on my ipod, they weren't before, i've restored, still out of order. what do i do to get them in order?

Have you tried creating a playlist for your album, then
    select the playlist in iTunes.
    right-click the playlist name -> select +copy to play order+. -> sync.

  • Unable to correct Album: 'Song play Order' on iPod

Windows Itunes (version 7.01): Sync to iPod Enabled (manually manage songs & videos box is: UNchecked)
Ipod 5G 60 GB (OS 1.2): Shuffle play set to OFF
When I recently added a new album (of ten songs) into iTunes, I forgot to enter their correct corresponding track number. I subsequently (in iTunes) entered the album artist's name (same for all songs) and corresponding correct track numbers (1 of 10, 2 of 10, etc), with the album's song order now appearing & playing (in iTunes) correctly now.
I then SYNCED my iPod to iTunes, with the iTunes display window confirming that these songs were being updated on my iPod. The artist-album song list order (albeit greyed out) under the "MY iPod" icon in the iTunes Device>Music section also confirmed that the album song order had been succesfully changed. Interestingly enough, I noticed it's NOT possible to CHANGE the song sort category here in the iTunes DEVICE section (always remains on 'artist'), even though I'm able to change the sort category in the iTunes LIBRARY section. I had expected that whatever category was selected in LIBRARY section would be reflected in the DEVICE > MY iPod section as well. Why is this not the case?
Strangely enough, when I then EJECT my iPod from the PC and call up the above Artist>Album, the album's songs still appear in the original (WRONG) order as when the album's songs were when initially loaded . What am I doing wrong? Did I miss something here?
How can I get my Album Songs to play in the correct (ammended in iTunes) order, on my iPod too?
Thanks in advance for all help and assistance.

iPod 5th Generation 60 GB   Windows XP

    Hi Snubnog,
Many thanks to your reply and informative link, I now use this succesful work around solution: 1) removing the recently tag edited songs from my iTunes library and then 2): re-importing them back into the iTunes Libary. Following this, and syncing my iPod up to the iTunes library again, my album songs now appear in correct play order.
    Thanks again for your help.

  • IPod touch 5th gen... play all songs on all albums by an artist in album order?

    Hi.
On my old ipod classic I can play all songs on all albums by an artist in album order.  Is there a way to do this on the ipod touch 5th gen?  I can see how to play all songs by an artist but only in alphabetical order, not one album after another...
    Thanks,
    J.

You can't please everyone ... some people want to be able to find a particular song by an artist and can't remember the name of the album from which it comes. By sorting all songs by an artist alphabetically you can go right to it. But I agree with you, I'd much prefer album order. Submit your feedback via the link provided, and yes the workaround is to create an On The Go playlist, or create one in iTunes.

  • Songs out of order on purchased album?

This is a recent problem for me, but it's happening all the time lately. Here's the issue: the songs in my purchased folder are sorted by date downloaded, but in the past, when I've purchased an entire album from iTunes, the songs appear grouped in album order.
Lately, though, they come into my purchased folder completely out of order. It's annoying on a couple of levels. One, I like to play recently played albums in their entirety straight from my purchased playlist; two, it makes it impossible to "make playlist from selection" and have the songs in the proper album order.
Don't know how this problem started, but I'd really like to fix it.

When you import or download albums they don't necessarily get added in track order, or reverse track order. I've a script for Windows which can remove and reimport tracks to sort them correctly but that's not going to help on your Mac. You may need to remove all the tracks and then reimport them one at a time first to last or last to first depending on whether you want you most recent albums at the end or the beginning of the list.
