Songs Play for 4-5 seconds then skip to next in Win 7 64 bit

I installed a clean version of windows 7 64 bit then itunes 9. Songs are able to be imported but only play for 4-5 seconds then will skip straight to the next song and again and again...
Is anyone else having this problem or know of how to fix it?

I have the same problem. I have seen several other people dealing with the same issue yet Apple has yet to deliver any answer...ridiculous. Kinda like the sync issue with Windows 7 64bit.. a sea of problems but not a fix in sight... maybe its time for a ZUNE....

Purchased song plays for a few seconds then skips. The rest of the songs from the album play fine. Purchased 5 albums at once and all songs play except the one. I've looked for a way to report this and can't locate a link and I was unable to reload the song from the purchased link. I am using Windows Vista and Itunes 10.6.3.5

Try deleting the problematic tune (electing to remove original file if/when prompted) and then re-downloading the file from the iTunes store.
You can re-download content purchased from the iTunes store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option from the Quick Links section in the top right corner of the iTunes homepage in your iTunes application on your computer.

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads with the same problem then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • After purchasing an album 4 of the songs play for a few seconds then cut out

i purchased 2 albums off of iTunes and when i went to play the one album 4 of the songs play for a few seconds then cut out.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

Getting really frustrated as i am a complete novice on this type of thing, any help would be appreciated. i have uninstalled itunes and reinstalled no joy

Dave, you are a god among mere mortal men!
I had used the check to only load certain tracks on my iPod mini that my kids use, while loading everything on my iPod 60GB.
I guess I should come up with a different method for that.
Thank you for clueing me in on how the checkmark works.
I'm a happy man once again.

  • Itunes plays song for 10 seconds then skips to next song and so on....

    Hey Everyone
I recently acquired a macbook (love it). However I have one issue, I imported all my music off my windows formatted ipod, and then formatted my Ipod for Mac. Everything plays fine, however I have one major issue. Some (not all) of the songs in itunes play for about 10 seconds and then jump to the next song. if I skip ahead past this 10 second barrier, the song plays fine . This happens on my itunes as well as my ipod.
    Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated

now when i play back in itunes (v10.6.1)
Doublechecking ... do you still get that if you update to iTunes 10.6.3.25?

  • Songs play for only 30 seconds

my songs only play for 20-60 seconds (depends on the songs) and then moves to another song. How do I stop this from occurring?

does this happen in iTunes? if so, it sounds like it might be a problem with either the audio file or something in the iTunes/iPhone transfer.
can you try playing the file in another player? depending on the file type, Windows Media Player should work in Windows, but i don't know of other players in Macs, sorry. do you get the same kind of thing? if so, there is definitely something wrong with the audio files.
if it does not happen, check a few songs to see what their start/end times are. to check this, select a file, go to "file -> get info" and go to the options tab. there, you will see the start/end times. be sure the start time is 0 and the end time is the duration of the file.

  • Music app stops playing for a few seconds then starts

After updating to lollipop the music app would play for a few minutes then stops for a few seconds then play again, did not have issue with kitkat. Help please.

It's back!!!!!! The problem went away for a few days now same issue. It only happens when I am listening to sound files on the headphones - sudden pause then restart in the middle of playing the sound file, this happens with different music/podcase apps. No issue with bluetooth streaming or speaker phone. So it appears there is a software bug with Lollipop update - never had this problem with KitKat. Factory reset does not fix it. I wish there was a way to revert the phone back to KitKat. Hoping the new Lollipop update would fix this.

  • Purchased Songs play for a few seconds.

Whenever i play a purchased AAC audio file for the first time,it only plays for a few seconds and same thing happens track after track.
I recently upgraded to windows 8 and added songs to itunes library. After clicking any puchased  track, it plays for 8-9 sec and next track plays with the  same problem.I have to play the same track again to fully listen to it and the problem never happens again to the track. It just happens while playing a song for the first time.Same problem was happening in windows 7.I got the latest iTunes Version(10.6.3.25)
    Help me

    Okay.
First you need to delete the file you jus purchased and move it to recycle bin.
Now, you browse the iTunes Store and redownload the song again. You won't be charged again and now try playing the song. It should play the whole song now!
    It should solve your question

  • Video only plays for a few seconds, then freezes

The video, which I got from the apple website, plays fine in iTunes but once I upload it to the iPod it will only play for a few seconds before freezing and becoming nonresponsive. Is this a software problem? Anyone know of a solution? Thanks.

Or you can follow these instructions.... (adopted from btabz)
Here are more detailed instructions on how to go back to 1.0, espescially if you bought your iPod in the last couple of months and it came with 1.1.
First, please download the older version of the iPod Updater here...
    http://appldnld.m7z.net/content.info.apple.com/iPod/ww/win/061-2225.20051128.PDW nw/iPodSetup.exe
Now install that updater and restart your computer.
Now open the iPod updater (Start-->all programs-->iPod and find the iPod updater you just installed
Open the iPod Updater and connect your iPod. With that older version of the iPod updater you just installed, restore your iPod by clicking restore.
The iPod will restore and go back to software version 1.0. Now reload everything back into iTunes.
If you don't want to restore, see this...
