Songs playing on one computer, but not on others.

I use my iPod on three different computers (Home/Work/brand new laptop). I recently upgraded my iPod from original 80gb to new Classic 160gb. Before I purchased my new iPod, I transferred my whole library (about 50gb)from my iPod onto my new laptop(using transfer software). Then when I purchased my new iPod I synced the whole library to the iPod. The problem is that when ever I connect my iPod to my work or home PC some songs have an exclamation mark next to them (and they don't play). So when I went to replace the "exclamation marked" songs from the laptop (where the whole library exist), I had NO exclamation marks. So my question is why do the songs play on one computer but not the others? Please help!

It looks alot like the problem we had when we couldn't resolve the CUPS server FQDN. But the desktop and laptop are on the same subnet and use the same DNS servers. I can ping the CUPS server by FQDN from the command prompt on both

I swapped out the username for and the domain with to protect the innocent. Or maybe the guilty; we will see. From the command prompt I can ping BC-IPT-UPS. and I get a response from the CUPS at the correct IP address.

It could be a firewall issue. Try disabling the firewall and see if that helps.

This is pretty common to see when your firewall kicks in and blocks certain communication paths the printer takes.
Here's a list of ports and programs that when allowed through the firewall, will restore communiction.

Have your security software provider walk you through allowing these items through your firewall.
If this does not fix your issue, it is most likely an issue with the driver configuration. Your router may have assisgned the printer a new IP address and this can be changed in the properties of the existing driver.

Only parts of my songs from itunes match are downloading onto my phone. The full song plays fine on computer but not on iphone

I recently purchased Itunes match to download some of the songs from my library onto my phone. Everything downloaded fine. At least I thought, until I tried to listen to my music on my phone. I found that some of the songs that were downloaded from the itunes match are not fully there. The full song plays fine on my computer, however on my phone it will only play a part of the song and then immediately cut off and skip to the next song, while the display still says the other song should be playing. I tried turning off the itunes match and just re-synching the music from my computer itunes library to my phone but still encounerted the same problem. Is there an easier way of fixing this, or do I have to basically restore my whole phone?

Did you let the scan in iTunes finish before you enabled the service on the iPhone? If not you need to. Disable iTM on the iPhone, then launch the Music app and let the content clear out. Once the scan is complete in iTunes re-enable iTM on the iPhone.

How do you get the sharing taskbar on iTunes? I have it on one computer but not the other and need it to transfer songs! Help!!

HT201322 Will hiding songs hide them from all computers? Is there a way to delete a song off one computer but not the other?

My mom & I share the same iTunes account and we finally have seperate computers. If i hide songs from iCloud on my computer will it also hide them on her's? Try restoring your iPod. Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. it won't remove anything from your iTunes library. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes 7

Ipod works on one computer but not the other?

Can someone please help me? My ipod works on my laptop but not the desktop. When I plug the Ipod into the desktop it sometimes shows up in Itunes but says it's corrupt. Which it obviously isn't because it works fine on it's own when not plugged into a computer and it works fine when I plug it into the laptop. Also when I looked in my computer the Ipod would show up as drive j and it would flash on and off. Well, I tried plugging the Ipod into a different port and that worked as far as drive j stopped flashing on and off. I tried changing the drive name and it wouldn't let me because it always went back to drive j even after I changed it to drive z. Itunes is playing music and is up to date. I have Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Please help.

Home sharing library loads on one computer but not the other

I have turned on Home Sharing (using the same account for both) on two computers. One of them loads the other's library, but the other either continually says it is attempting to load, or immediately reverts back to the normal Music library screen.
I have spent several hours searching the Internet to find suggestions but nothing seems to be working:
I have downloaded the newest version of iTunes
I have tried setting up a new account, de-authorising the computer on all accounts except the new one
I have turned off the sharing located under the Preferences tab
I have made sure that iTunes is not blocked by a firewall
I have checked that the Bonjour service is running
I have tried turning everything off and starting all over again
I would welcome a new solution! Thank you!

Burned DVD plays in Mac computer, but not in other players??

I burned a DVD using iDVD and the disk played in my computer. I then tried to play it in my PC and also on my home DVD players and it didn't work. I burned another DVD and the same result happened: worked in Mac, but no where else. I originally used a miniDV disk and then modified it before sending it to iDVD for burning.
Why doesn't it play elsewhere?
How can I burn a DVD that will play in others players?

Well, you need to check whether your DVD can play a "minus" DVD. Older ones can't. And Mac can only burn "minus" DVDs.
After I started making DVDs, we had to go buy a new player -- that was a year ago, and now we have to buy another new one because that one has a problem with sound, sigh.
this is a very expensive hobby! But I love it! Good luck.

HT204187 outgoing mail rejects password on one computer but not the other

The mail program says the outgoing mail password is incorrect on wife's desktop computer, but mail works from her iPad.

I, too, have the same problems as listed above. I have changed my password in my mail account several times. Each time my iPhone and iPad accept the new password and is able to send/receive mail. My macbookPro rejects it each time. I have tried deleting it from keychain...still did not fix the problem. Any other suggestions?

TS2972 Homesharing shows up on one computer but not the other one.

Homeshare shows up on my desktop but not my laptop. I can acces the laptop library from the desktop fine but the desktop does not even show up on the laptop. Both iTunes versions are the most current. I have tried turning Homeshare off and back on and closing and reopening iTunes. No luck. I have checked firewall settings. Desktop has windows vista and laptop windows 7. Any suggestions?

EDIT:
After turning homesharing on and off, closing and reopening iTunes, and waiting, it finally connected. Oddly there are two libraries showing up. Anyway, problem solved for me! If only I could delete this question now, haha.

ICal Subscription Works On One Computer But Not The Other

I subscribed to a web based iCal subscription. The subscription refreshes on my Mac Mini but not on my desktop, which is connected to my iPhone. The iPhone therefore doesn't get the subscription contents either. I've tried deleting and resubscribing but nothing works.

Connection issues with one computer - but not any other computer or iphone

I have a strange problem…. well, really it is my friends/co-workers problem, but I am his sponsor so I feel I need to be there for him.
We are both school teachers - and to help us in the eduction of our students we have created a wireless network (hidden so we don’t get caught!) that we can use in our area of the building. We have had it for several years and we have both hooked up to it regularly using our laptops and our ipod touch/iphone. Just recently my co-workers computer stopped being able to access the internet through the airport. We checked the settings, threw out the settings and re-entered them. Turned off the airport, turned it back on - typed in the network settings, connected - but no internet. We ran disk utility and repaired disk permissions. We have even gone as far as to create a new user…. still no luck. I have shut down and restarted the airport at school, still the issue remains.
He can see the shared disk attached to the airport, he sees my itunes library, I see his - and the rest of the teachers in the school see both of ours (we are music teachers, so our libraries are rather extensive!) and are constantly listening to our shared libraries. We know he is connected to the network, he just cannot access the internet. However, when he plugs in to the network (same settings) via ethernet - there is no problem he gets right into the network.
We both have airports at home - and we both have no problems connecting at home.
There are only two things that have happened since we noticed this problem… 1) is Snow Leopard - we believe the problem started AFTER that upgrade. and 2) we just got a new iMac Lab (I am teaching a new class - Audio Engineering this year) and in the lab I put a legal Airport - but that one IS NOT connected to the school network at all - it just allows all of the iMacs to access the shared hard drive (easier than running cable). This airport (new one - two channel) sits between his office and the old airport (single channel) that we use to access the internet and school network. I don’t think this is the problem as I have turned off the “new” airport and the problem remains.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Keyboard works on one computer but not the other

I have an aluminum wireless keyboard that came with my Mac Pro (Early 2008). Some time ago, it just stopped working. I tested the bluetooth mouse and a few other bluetooth peripherals to check that it wasn't the Mac Pro's bluetooth that was malfunctioning. I was convinced that the keyboard was broken, and was about to take it to the Apple Store to get it fixed when I thought that maybe I should test the keyboard on another computer. When I did that, it worked perfectly, but it still does not work with my Mac Pro. I've tried changing the batteries and removing the pairing from my Mac Pro. When I try to re-pair it, the Mac Pro is unable to discover it. Thank you in advance for your help.
