Songs purchased through iPhone from itunes?

I recently purchased several Disney albums for my kids on my iphone. Worked great, but when I did my automatic sync on my computer, everything that I had bought using the iphone alone was lost. It appears as "purchased" on my account, so I know I payed for it (and it appears as charged!) but I cannot find it anywhere. Unfortunately, when I did the sync with my computer, the albums were deleted from my iphone as well, so now I cant get the music from anywhere.
Without getting too technical with me, as I am not a computer person, is there a way I can recover this music? it is most definitely NOT on my computer's hard drive (I doubt it ever was, as I never really downloaded it from my iphone), I already did a search for it.
Now my iphone only has my old playlists, that were uploaded from purchases made on itunes on my desktop. All the new stuff has been wiped.
Overall, it is aprox $50 worth of music, so I'd rather not have to buy it again, but if there is no choice I will. I just don't know enough about this technology to understand what to do next.

The iphone is not storage/backup device.
The sync is one way - computer to iphone.
The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to your new one.

No acknowledgement of purchase through ATV from iTunes

when I try to purchase anything use the ATV I connect to iTunes but I always get a communication error. But the purchase gets completed and I get billed. The item music movie etc after a while shows up in my list of mymusic or mymovies.
Any thoughts
For reference: I had posted an earlier item "can't purchase through ATV" but some troubleshooting should the purchases were going through and the item was being downloaded to the ATV. So I posted a new question on iTunes not acknowledging purchases.

You should be able to copy it from the iPhone to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases

I tried to upload songs to my iphone from itunes but will not play the music. it appears to be on my iphone but I cannot click on the song?? I tried deleting the songs from my iphone too try again but it will not work!

The songs seemed to not uploaded properly as it won't allow me to click on them. I tried swipe and delete but delete won't appear!

Also, just updated the phone's software today, and iTunes' software is already up to date.

Have you tried resetting the device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once the Home screen redisplays, see if your Music app is behaving normally.

Does this only happen with the tracks you have downloaded from the iTunes Store? Perhaps you should work the suggestions in this Apple support document first.

Hello, Please help as I tunes havent got back to me yet!!
A couple of months ago, I lost all of my music/itunes etc as my computer needed a complete restore. When it re-installed itunes there was no songs on it at all and would only let me transfer the purchases made on my iphone from itunes back onto my library. The problem I have is that I want to upgrade my phone to the iphone4 but dont want to lose all of the songs on my iphone, some are downloaded from the itunes, most are from CD's that I still own but there are some great songs that I have put on from borrowed CD's or another download company i.e. hmv music downloads and those are the songs it will not let me transfer into the library on my computer so when I get the new phone, I could just sync and they will all be there.
Please help as I do not want to lose any of my songs

for purchases from the iTunes store do this:
connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.

You can't keep changing the ID you use with iTunes, you are limited to once every 90 days.

Ok, sorry. And yes, I just restored my iPhone as new and tried to put all the songs on there before I even restored with my previous backup, but it still does the same thing... even when I just checked the option to sync only "selected music or videos". How's that possible?
P.S. After I tried syncing with checked songs only, nothing showed up under Music on my phone and this message popped up in iTunes: "The iPhone "..." could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish." If you could, please tell me what that means, thanks.

On your new iPhone tap Settings > Store.
Make sure Books is turned ON.
You shouldn't need to re purchase the book > Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

If the albums do appear in the Music app, hold down on the album icons and the X to delete will pop up on the icons. Tap the X to delete the albums.
You don't see a anything in iCloud, you see your previous purchases in the purchased tab of the store that you bought the content in. So you find your music purchases in the purchased tab of the iTunes app on your iPad. Tap on Purchased and look for the albums in the Not on this iPad section - assuming that you are able to delete the albums from the device.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
