Songs scratching in iTunes and on iPod

I've tried some of the sugestions posted here but still have a problem of almost 25% of my tracks skipping or scratching. This happens whether I play them on iTunes, or directly from the iPod [either with headphones or thru an amplifier].
I don't get what's happening - any thoughts??
Danny

Thanks, Cory, and sorry I didn't come back to say that till now. Shuffle is off, so I guess it's not that. I'm having basically the same problem as these people:

i just updated my software to maverick and my iTunes to the most recent version and i can no longer transfer songs from my iTunes to my iPod. The tracks stay gray with a stagnant circle beside them in the left column. Any ideas?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.
" it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account"
This is not true.  You have misunderstood.
You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

  • Ive had my iPod classic for some time now, and up to now have been using my laptop to sync songs from iTunes.  Unfortunatley, the laptop has died and I'm thinking of buying a iPad.....but how do i now get any songs downloaded from iTunes to my iPod?

I've had my iPod classic for some time now, and up to now have been connecting it to my laptop to sync any downloaded tunes from iTunes.  Unfortunately, the laptop has died and I'm thinking of buying a iPad.....but how do I now get any songs downloaded from iTunes to my iPod?

If an iPod is set to update automatically it will be associated with a particular library. If you connect that iPod to a different computer or a different library on the same computer you get the the message you are referring to. "The iPod "iPod Name"is linked to another another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library". To use an iPod on multiple computers you change the update method to "manually manage songs and playlists". You can also use multiple iPods on a single computer so you will be able to connect both of your iPods to your existing iTunes. Connect the new iPod and follow the on screen instructions, iTunes will open and update your iPod.
    For info:
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

I have that exact same problem! It plays albums fine. But individual songs including ones downloaded from iTunes either skip or play the music of another totally different song. All play fine on iTunes and my iPhone... Got this one to replace my dying 5th gen classic.
I hope there is a fix for this, cause it *****!!!!

  • I downloaded 21 songs recently to iTunes and they won't sync with my ipod. 1st time this has happened. Any ideas to download these songs would be appreciated.

I had some time finally figuring why I could buy and download from the Itunes store, but could not load it on my IPOD. What finally worked was plugging my IPOD in to the computer, as I would when "syncing", and, after loading, it would show my device in the side bar. You have to go to VIEW in the top Tool Bar and click on SHOW SIDE BAR in the drop down menu. "SUMMARY' tab, on top, is what I clicked on to show an option of restoring my IPOD to the factory defaults. It erases everything on the IPOD, but gives an option of AUTOFILL afterwards, which it does from the computer. This is one solution of many you could try. Good luck.

Sync problem - earlier today I updated both iTunes and my iPod Touch. Since then, I have tried syncing the two. The iPod Touch claims that there is no music on the iPod, however, when I connect it to my computer it says my full library is on there. At present, I am unable to listen to songs on the iPod when not connected to the computer. What can I do to fix this?
    Thanks for any help!

    - Have you reset your iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next would be to backup your iPod and then restore you iPod from backup via iTunes.

  • ITunes and my iPod are not syncing

I'm having a few problems with iTunes and my iPod right now. I have the Classic 160GB if that makes any difference.
The laptop my original iTunes library was on died. I tried transferring all the songs off my iPod to the new computer. When I transferred only the purchased songs are showing in the library. The songs I uploaded from CDs are only showing on my iPod.
       2.  I purchased several songs about 2 weeks ago and they will not sync to my iPod; they are only showing in the library. Which leads me into my 3rd problem.
       3.  For some reason, the sync songs manually option is checked, and when I uncheck it I get a message that says if I continue the contents on my iPod will           be replaced with the current contents of the library. (I don't not want this to happen.) Also, when I go to the summary of my iPod and click the music tab             and try to sync that way, I get the same message about replacing contents with current library.
Thanks to anyone that can provide any help!

is your other computer still operational?if it is,do you have a wirless internet connection,or just a modem?

No, it will sync the ipod to the content of the MBA which presumably has nothing on it (= erasing content of iPod and replacing it with nothing).

Quick answer if you let iTunes manage your music:  Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive.  Start iTunes with the option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

  • I cannot access or reinstall Itunes, and my ipod isn't being detected

So, sometime after the fall of 2010, which I suspect was after iTunes 10 was launched, I noticed I couldn't access iTunes.
    It read error 2330.
I did some sleuthing for months, and now I get these error messages under the heading "iTunes + Quicktime" when I attempted a re-installation of iTunes:
"There's a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor"
"An error occurred while attempting to create the directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes"
In the past while attempting to re-install iTunes, I got error message 2330...STILL don't fully know what this means.
I currently have Bonjour, the iTunes folder, The iPhone Configuration Utility folder, and Quicktime on my desktop...The actual programs are also in my C:\ drive in Program Files...I can also see Apple software in the Add/Remove Programs section of the Control Panel on my PC.
I seem to be able to access iTunes/iTunes store via the executable file in the iTunes folder by clicking "iTunes.exe", but no other way...I also noticed that the software will run normally, but not detect my iPod or allow my computer access...So in other words, iTunes doesn't recognize my computer as being authorized for my account, and yet it displays my email address in the upper-right hand corner of iTunes.
It's like I can only access a "half version" of the full iTunes I once had by going through that folder...No clue what's happening or what files may be missing or corrupted.
Quite simply put, I need help...I want to be able to use iTunes and my iPod Touch (1st gen) like I was able to this past fall before the mysterious accident or corrupt files ruined everything.

For that 2330 error, run chkdsk on your C drive.

  • I currently have Leopard, and there are no longer updates for it. So I must upgrade to either Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion. Without doing so I cannot update my itunes, and my ipod is no longer compatile with my mac. How can I buy the upgrade

I currently have Leopard, and there are no longer updates for it. So I must upgrade to either Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion. Without doing so I cannot update my itunes, and my ipod is no longer compatile with my mac. How can I buy the upgrade, since I do not have access to the mac store as that comes with Snow Leopard? I went to Best Buy and they said neither Snow Leopard or Mountain Lion can be bought there.

Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from their stores, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $20 for a single user, or $30 for a family pack that covers up to 5 Macs.  You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number (Lion requires an Intel-based Mac with a Core 2 Duo, i3, i5, i7 or Xeon processor and 2GB of RAM, running the latest version of Snow Leopard), or you can purchase Mountain Lion from the App Store - if you can run that:
    http://www.apple.com/osx/specs/
If you are outside the US call your national Apple Helpline:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
If you're in the UK, use this number: 0871 508 4400
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade all the way to Mountain Lion:

  • How do I delete radio shows from iTunes and my iPod at the same time?

I have a lot of old time radio shows on my iPod. First, I copy them from iTunes to listen to on my iPod. When I am done, I want to delete BOTH of them at the same time. I am trying to avoid having to search for both because, for some reason, I cannot search both the iTunes and the iPod content at the same time. I obviously do not want them synced. In the previous version of iTunes, I was able to do with a key command. Now, I cannot figure out how to do it. ( I really wish there was a way I could color each selection so that I can find which ones I copied to the iPod easily. You know, just like how it's done in the operating system, where we can add the color label.)
Anyway, is there a way to do what I want, or am I stuck with searching separately, and then deleting them separately? Laborious indeed. Oh, yes, the duplicate function doesn't work here because you can't search both the iPod and iTunes at the same time.
Thanks in advance to all you smartie-pants out there.

when you purchas e a tv show from the itunes music store and then sync it to the ipod. there will appear a new name in th evideo subsection of videos on the ipod called tv shows thats where they will be and where you can watch the,.
