Songs selected from itunes not syncing to phone

I wanted to put a downloaded song onto itunes, so I double clicked the song and it appeared on my itunes list.  How do I get this song from the itunes list to my iphone4?  Do I have to check off all the songs I already have from the list. or do I just check the recently added song from the itunes list?  Then what do I do?  Do I just click on sync? Thanks!

Same here.  I use an old flip phone, and send texts from my desktop computer many times a day.  Texts from my computer never show up on my phone.  Now, however, it is almost impossible to text from my computer using either Firefox or Internet Explorer.  When I click "Send a Message", the screen usually freezes and never fully loads the texting webpage.  If I am lucky enough to see it load and see all the texts I've sent, sending a new one is extremely slow, or causes the page to freeze completely.  Verizon, I've had your service forever, and would never "cheat" on you.  But still, PLEASE bring our ability to send texts from our computers into the 21st Century.

  • Songs purchased from iTunes not syncing

In the last week I have purchased 3 songs from the iTunes store using my iPhone. Whilst these songs do show up on both the phone and on my iTunes itself, whenever I play them on the iPhone and then sync the phone it doesn't register that I've listened to them recently. Also, I havre added them to a custom made playlist on several occasions, and then when i sync my phone they disappear from the playlist and I have to put them back every time. I have tried adding them to this playlist using both the iPhone and iTunes, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. I have a playlist on iTunes of songs I have purchased, and these 3 songs do not appear in the list.
Can anyone tell me why this may be and if there is any way I can fix it?
    Many thanks

    thanks

  • How can I restore the contacts on my iPhone 4s (from iTunes) without 'syncing' my phone?

I just got a new iPhone 4s about a month ago - backed everything up to iTunes before transferring onto my new phone, which worked great. However, my mail was not working correctly (gmail), and after trying to set it up multiple times, found out about the whole issue of gmail not supporting 'push' with the iphone anymore... Got that issue figured out, but part of trying to set up my gmail account found me syncing my contacts with my gmail contacts.
I have not kept gmail contacts up to date for a few years, and when my phone synced with google contacts, it basically wiped out all of my current contacts and replaced with outdated contacts from google. I know that my contacts should all be saved to iTunes, but I'm afraid to sync and have the same thing happen again. I don't want to restore my phone from iTunes if I don't have to, because I don't want to lose other things outside of my contacts that I've updated since the last time I backed up my phone.
Is there a way to restore just my contacts? I've got a lot of contact info/numbers over the years that would be very difficult to replace, and I don't fully understand the 'sync' process... Thanks for any help!

Syncing contacts is bi-directional. If you elect to sync contacts...again, selected on the Info pane in iTunes...whatever contacts you have in whatever supported application on your computer will be merged with what you have on your phone. If whatever application, on your computer, is empty, then all contacts on your phone will be erased. Never sync to an empty application.
Contacts are included in the iPhone backup, but the first thing done when you perform a sync is an iPhone backup. This means that whatever contacts are currently in your iPhone backup will be overwritten with whatever is currently on your phone.
So, if all you want are whatever contacts are currently in your iPhone backup, you need to re-read my initial post.

Hi, maybe someone can help me. Recently I noticed that the songs I have downloaded from itunes are not playing on my ipod. They are working fine on my computer. As far as I know all my software is up to date and I even tried backing up my files and restoring my ipod, and the songs from itunes are still not playing. Is there something else I can do?

  • My 7th Gen nano only synch some of the songs selected from iTunes.

I've restored it and then synched. Different songs synched. I've also re-set it and nothing works. All the Apple software for the Nano and Mac are up-to-date. Does anyone have any insights? Thanks.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • ITunes not syncing selected playlists, choosing songs from all playlists

I have some smaller iPods that I use on random occasions. When I sync them, I choose the following options:
    Sync Music:
    Selected Playlists, artists, genres
    Music Videos - Not Checked
Automatically fill free space with songs - Checked
I have two playlists from which I wish a selection to be made, which exceeds the size of the iPod (they were designed for larger devices synced with this machine). When I attempt to Sync, I get a message saying that the iPod is too small, and would I like iTunes to automatically choose songs to sync. If I click no, the sync is canceled. If I click yes to have a subset of my two playlists automatically choosen, the ipod will sync, but then iTunes clears all of my selected playlists and starts syncing songs from all playlists.
This seems like a bug in iTunes to me, as it is not performing the requested options. Has anyone else experienced this, or know how to get it fixed? Or to get a bug report sent in to Apple? I have been going all over the place on their support page, and since this isn't an issue with the iPod, but with iTunes, I haven't been able to find a support avenue.

iTunes not syncing selected playlists, choosing songs from all playlists
You have it selected to *sync selected playlists* and those playlists are not syncing to the iPod?
however this seems to be very counter-intuitive behavior for iTunes
It can be kind of confusing.
I suggest it's not a bug in that it is acting as it's supposed to.
The option (Fill free space) could be made clearer. Perhaps if they added "with songs at random from the entire library" or somehow added an option to select what the free space will be filled with.)
    1) The fact that iTunes it is not obeying the selected options on the screen
    Not supposed to do that.
If the playlists all fit and there is free space, what would iTunes use to fill the free space if it only used selected items?
    2) iTunes is allowing users construct an unhonorable set of choices out of four options. If "Selected playlists, artists and genres" is not compatible with "Automatically fill free space," then that option should be grayed out.
    It is compatible.
If there is free space after your selections are added, what should iTunes use to fill the free space? It shouldn't fill the free space with stuff already on the iPod.

  • I recently updated my iPhone and now find there are a number of songs that I cannot sync to my phone. Some are songs purchased from iTunes.  Is there anyway to remedy this?  I'd really prefer not to have to repurchase music.  Thanks

I recently ran an updatedafter being prompted multiple times. Now I find there are a number of songs that I cannot sync to my iPhone. Some are songs purchased from iTunes.  Is there anyway to remedy this?  I'd really prefer not to have to repurchase music.

Why would you repurchase songs simply because they will not sync?  Sorry, that's beyond illogical, it's simply not smart.
What happens when trying to sync these songs?
    Any errors?

  • I recently got an iphone 5S and my songs not purchased from iTunes are grayed out (phone only) and are skipped past when playing them through my iPhone.

I recently got an iphone 5S and my songs not purchased from iTunes are grayed out (phone only) and are skipped past when playing them through my iPhone. i have tried the following:
    1) Removing all music from phone and resynced to iTunes PC library.
    2) Erased phone and restored from back up
    3) Erased phone and started as a new iPhone
    4) Reformated the music files in my library that weren't playing
    5) Deleted songs from iPhone and computer and re-imported CDs
    6) Tried to redownload my COMPLETE MUSIC LIBRARY from iCloud.
    7) I have also turned it off and turned it back on several times
    8) I tried syncing through my macbook (only moved partial songs to it to see if it would even work).
    9) I have tried to get Siri to play them, did not work.
    10) All music does play fine on my iPod Touch 3rd (iOS6 i think) gen and iTunes on Mac and PC
    11)  I added a CD to my roommates iTunes and it plays on their iPhone 5S but not mine.
After all of these things it is now WORSE!!!  My iTunes purchased songs are now experiencing the same issue along with some (not all) of the original music files that were skipping and grayed out.  My conclusion is i have no clue at this point!  I have done everything i have found online in EVERY discussion, i have spent over 60 hours trying to get this to work and i am asking myself, i bought this product why am having to fix this when it worked just fine on my iPod touch (3rd Gen) and iPod Classic!!!!  PLEASE APPLE FIX THIS ISSUE FOR US!!!!

I had this problem too after i upgdatd to OS X Mavericks... only the songs on my iphone 5s that i purchased from itunes would play.
i read something about it being a syncing issue. when you plug your phone into your computer with the usb cable, the person said to switch from automatic syncing of itunes to the "manual" option. mine was already set to manual so i wasn't sure anything would work. BUT, when i plugged my phone into my computer, it started to sync all of my music on my phone again (top of itunes bar where song playing/time is listed said "now syncing 123/534 songs to x's iphone"). once that was completed, i checked the music app on my iphone and everything was back to normal!
so, i would suggest setting your music syncing settings to manual if you haven't tried that yet!
    hope this helps!

  • How do I set up my iTunes Genius to play selections from all, not just some, of my songs in my currently playing playlist?

Last night, when I played my playlist songs with iTunes Genius, my iTunes, with one of my playlists selected, and set on "Shuffle On," "Genius Shuffle On, "Genius On," "Match On," and "Play," played selections from all of my songs in my playlist. Today, my iTunes Genius went back to the same problem it was giving me before last night. My iTunes Genius has been playing selections from just a few of my playlist albums. How do I set up my iTunes Genius to play selections from all, not just some, of my songs in my currently playing playlist?
