Why aren't Apple helping? We pay for music, we should be able to listen to it with quality. Instead, we're treated to second rate audio quality and song skipping all for the name of new features.
We want answers, or a fix!

  • "This song requires a newer version of GarageBand"

I recently created a song on my ipad2 - but when I try to import it onto my mac (OS X 10.5.8) - it says "This song requires a newer version of GarageBand. Please update to the latest version of GarageBand before opening this song."
What is the version of Garage band will I need to open this file?
Will Garage band '11 run on the 10.5.8 operating system?
    Thanks

  • GarageBand error after data transfer that states "This song requires a newer version of GarageBand. Please update to the latest version of GarageBand before opening this song". Please Help!

I recently had a data transfer from my older mac to my newer one. After the transfer I logged into my new account and opened up my GarageBand. It worked perfectly fine, however when I logged into my old account with all my older data that I just transferred over, I could not open my GarageBand files and there is an error that states "GarageBand error after data transfer that states "This song requires a newer version of GarageBand. Please update to the latest version of GarageBand before opening this song".If anyone could please help me with this issue, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thank You!

When you transferred your data from your old mac, you may have accidentally transferred an older GarageBand version and either overwritten your newer version, or your old account still has the old GarageBand icon in the Dock.
Search with SpotLight, if you have more than one Garageband version on your new Mac (type "GarageBand" into the SpotLight search field). Does it list more than one GarageBand version? Then delete the older GarageBand.app.
What GarageBand version have you been using at your old mac, and what is the version on your new mac? If it has been bought recently, it should have come with GarageBand '11.
    Regards

  • HT2905 how do i delete duplicated songs on the new version of itunes?

somehow the new itunes version managed to duplicate ALL my songs.. and i need an easier way to delete all the duplicated songs.. i now have 3,204 songs and most are duplicated three or four times.. i need some help.
AN EASIER WAY TO DELETE DUPLICATED SONGS ON THE NEW VERSION OF ITUNES

Select a song. Hit command-I (Mac) or Ctrl-I (Windows). In the pane which opens select the 'Artwork' tab. Drag an image to the space.
Or, select an album: same keystroke. In the pane which opens is a space labelled 'Artwork' - drag an image there.

  • Itunes not playing entire song after installing new version

I installed Win7 Pro 64-bit and subsequently installed the latest version of iTunes.  Now iTunes is cutting off the last minute or so of my songs.  Why???

i had this too, the only way I was able to solve it was to rebuild my library, ***** but is the only way.
Most likely you will experience that new songs informations are no longer stored and it will run determination for gapless playback on every startup of iTunes!

  • Why can't I print a playlist of 24 songs with this newer version that will fit on a case, as I was able to do with the older version?

With the older version I was able to print a playlist of 24 songs that would fit on a case.  The print was single-spaced on the older version, but on this version, the print is double spaced and it no longer fits on a case.  Does anyone have an answer?

No other solution at this time. Are you using iPad or iPhone?
iPad - I can understand why you ask. It's too bad you can't sync PDF playlist. Right now the only way is to use Sugarsync. From there you can "Open PDF in iBooks". Or you can use Goodreader.
iPhone - Why would you want to use iTunes and iBooks? Although iBooks is well designed and handles PDF very well even on iPhone, it doesn't have text-reflow feature which makes PDF reading useless on iPhone unless you want to loose your eye sight soon. So the only way is to sync a folder using Sugarsync.  You can access Sugarsync from Goodreader.

  • An easy way to update a song to a newer version in multiple playlists?

i lost a bunch of my music due to a computer crash. bummer. i am slowly putting my library back together. is there a way to easily update have itunes recognize the song (same song...but this one does not have the exclamation point next to it) and replace it in the playlists that the original (exclamation point song) is in. i have over 300playlists....and would love to save time. thanks!

    I didn't uderstand what?
"The coffee place I work at everyday changes their password each morning. When I arrive, my laptop immediately tries to connect to the network ("coffeenow"), but because the password I entered yesterday no longer works, it keeps trying to connect and failing. Only after repeated attempts or after I remove "coffeenow" from the list of previously used networked (in Network Preferences: Advanced) am I able to reach the pop-up window where it asks for the password. Then, of course, I enter that day's new password, given to me by the friendly barista."
As mentioned above look for a different coffee shop.

  • Will I loose earlier downloaded songs by getting new version of Itunes?

I'm wary about loosing all my previously dowloaded and burned songs if I download the latest version of Itunes. Can this be avoided. It won't let me download anything now unless I upgrade
    Thanks

You shouldn't loose anything BUT you should back everything up just in case. Even if you don't loose after updating, backup ALL things you purchase. more about backing up can be found here http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/musicstore/backup/

  • I recorded songs on an old version of Garageband and now I can't play them on the new version. How do I play the old versions

Dose anyone know how I can play my old garageband songs on the new version?

What happens when you try to open them?
The GarageBand Help does not say anything about the compatibility with earlier versions.
Try to drag the old project to the GarageBand icon in the Dock or or control-click the project and select "Open with GarageBand" from the pop-up menu.  If GarageBAnd can open the project at all, it should convert the project and save a copy in the new format.
If that does not work, and you still have Gaa
rageBand '11 installed, try to open the project first in GarageBand '11 to upgrade it and then in GarageBand 10.0.

  • How can i remove "A newer version of the app" pop up

I keep getting the following pop up message everytime i open iTunes or download a song.
"A newer version of the app "APP NAME SHOWN HERE" already exists in your iTunes Library. Are you sure you want to replace it with the one you are moving?"
Its really annoying to have to click on "Don't Replace" for every app I have. How can I stop this pop up message?

Download on another system, zip it, transfer to the PC's via a USB stick (or move it to an online service like Dropbox).
You may find that the PC has software that blocks it anyway, so it is safest to speak to your IT staff & ask them to install it.

  • Installing newer version of iTunes

    Hello,
I currently have iTunes 4.9 installed on my computer that works fine with my iPod mini.
However, I recently got an iPod shuffle that will not run with that version and requires me to run iTunes 5.0 or higher.
Installing the newer version of iTunes from the CD prompts me to first uninstall my older version of iTunes and then install the newer version on the CD.
Will uninstalling and re-installing cause me to loose the songs my music library? If not, will I have to re-import all of my songs into the newer version of iTunes?
Is iTunes 5.0 compatible with my iPod mini as well?
    Thanks,
    -Christy

Default settings for iTunes store your music in a folder found at C:\Documents and Settings\user name\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music - far away from the iTunes program itself which is found at C:\Program Files\iTunes. So installing a new version of iTunes shouldn't be a problem. I've upgraded several times and not had any troubles.
    But ...
the funny things about computers is that they have been known to do some not so funny things, like unexpectedly losing data for example.
That's why it's always a good idea to back up your iTunes library under any circumstances.
Many people come to the Discussions having lost their music in a variety of situations and, believe me, it's not a happy time for anyone.
If you place any importance on your playlists and the data they depend on, you will want to include your iTunes Library files in your back-up regimen as well.
    Always remember:
Your music is valuable - please back it up!
P.S. Apple is actually up to iTunes 6.0.4 now and I'd recommend you download that version and install it on your computer. It's not even necessary to uninstall the earlier version, iTunes will be updated automatically.
And yes, it will be compatible with your mini.

  • I have to download the new version of itunes. Will the music ive bought on the old version be deleted or can i switch it over somehow?

I have to downlaod the new version of itunes. It tells me that my ipod wont work with the old version. If i download the new version can i transfer all my songs to the new version or will they not be able to?

As long as its the same computer, the new version should simply upgrade your old version with nothing else changed.
