Songs stop half way???

Ive purchased a couple of albums and have downloaded them all. However, when I play some of them they only play for between 20 to 60 seconds and then skip to the next songs. I have no authorised devices on my apple id so thats no the issue. Please help.

My own experience with this is that if I find a song truncated like that in my iPod, after I resync to iTunes I go find the song (usually by looking in the recently played list). What should be a, for example, 3:00 song will be there as, e.g. 2:37. However when I double click it to play it, the time will then update back to the correct 3-minute time. I usually then reset the playcount to force an update of the tune back to the iPod (or if you don't want to lose playcount, simply let the whole song play so the play count is increased by one). After that I have found the song plays fine on the iPod.
A glitch of some sort.
By the way, I don't know if you use your ratings or not, but if you don't or you have a rating you never use, do what I do and use the rating for tagging songs with issues. For example, if a song plays truncated on my iPod and I am far away from my computer, I can not fix it then and may not recall what song it was later. So I back up to the song again and while playing press the center button on the iPod a couple times to get to the star ratings screen and give it stars (5 stars is easy since you just circle the wheel with your thumb to max out the stars). Now later when I get back to the computer and resync, I can go to the recently played list and instantly spot the 5-star files that I tagged as truncated. I can now double click them to reset their times then I reset the stars to zero. Next sync, because you changed the star ratings, these songs get updated in the iPod and hopefully should play fine now.

Are these songs you purchased from the iTunes Store or were they imported/downloaded from another source such as another online MP3 store or ripped from a CD?
Do they play okay in iTunes?  What format are they in?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • I upgraded iTunes to version 11.0.5 but now it does not sync my songs properly.  Some songs are synced entirely, but other songs stop half way through.

I upgraded my iTunes software to version 11.0.5 but now it won't sync my songs properly, either on my iPod classic or on my new iPhone 4s.  The problem seems to happen with random songs: some songs will play through to the end, but other songs cut off part way through the song.  At first I thought my iPod was defective, but then it happened on my new iPhone 4s.  On my phone, I can see that the song is still playing, but the sound cuts off.  Can anyone tell me how to fix this?  Thank you.

This problem started last year when ios 8 was released. I think apple is trying to force users to buy music on iTunes store and that's why it's impossible to sync other music and also that's the reason why they haven't solved this serious problem. That's really disappoints me and i'm angry with apple because i have like 10 gb of music in mp3 and i can't sync music from iTunes to my iPhone.

  • Songs stopping half way through

I transferred all songs from old computer to a new one. My ipod video synced fine with the new computer. Our ipod mini synced also but a lot of songs will stop after about one minute of playing. It's mostly songs that we burned from cd's into itunes. Any ideas?? I have reset and restored several times and it hasn't solved the problem.

  • Itunes purchased song stops half way through

I recently transfered my itunes library to a new Macbook 13 inch. It was tricky to do because my library was on an external hard drive. I did have to redownload some, but not all of my purchased content. Now many of my itunes purchased songs are clipped midway through the song when played. This is only happening to songs that I purchased in itunes. Any ideas as to how to fix this problem?  Thanks!

If you are in a country where re-downloading is possible (check this with iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match Availability by Country - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5085), delete the track (and the original file) and download again (Downloading [using iOS or computer] past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519).  See tips on downloading in https://discussions.apple.com/message/19097773, especially unchecking the "Allow Simultaneous Downloads" box in the downloads tab of iTunes.

  • TS1362 Problem with songs stopping half way through

recently, some songs in my itunes library have been cutting off before they reach the end. It doesn't affect all songs and happens to both songs I have bought from the iTunes store and those I have ripped from CDs. Any ideas on how to fix this? \i am running a PC with Windows7.

  • Major problem: Songs stopping half way through and skipping to next song.

At first I thought it was an iphone problem, but then I noticed it was doing it on my 5th gen ipod. Ive also narrowed it down to only songs bought on itunes. Anyone have a solution?

I have the same problem with a handful of my recent (mp3) downloads from Emusic. It happens at the same spot in both ITunes and on my IPod (Generation 5). However, the files work flawlessly in Windows Media Player or even on my car stereo reading the mp3 from a burned CDRom.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • TS1362 On one purchased album some songs stop half way through.

Are these files corrupted? If so can I re-download working files?

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past purchases, delete the current copies from your iTunes library and then download again using the Purchased link in the right-hand column of the iTunes Store home page.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not available in your region contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history.

  • Songs stopping half way through and jumping to the next song

This has only just started happening on an album I purchased a couple of weeks ago (but only just got around to listening to it). Has anyone else had the problem or at least know how to fix it??

  • I brought an album and one song plays half way and then just stops playing and skips to the next song

    - Try a reset. Nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Delete the songs and redownload by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Certain songs have started stopping half way through and skipping to the next track, how do i fix?

Recently I have found the certain songs, and its always the same ones, have started stopping half way thru and skipping to the next track.  Even if I manually try and forward thru to the end of the track they wont go beyond half way. Does anyone else have this issue and are there any fixes?

I have figured out a fix.  I have deleted the songs in question and then gone to the 'purchased' section in iTunes Store and re-downloaded the tracks and they work fine.  Haven't found a problem on a non-downloaded track yet so not sure what fix would be there.

  • Songs and Videos Stopping Half Way Through

I've had my Iphone for 8 months and last week it broke i sent it to apple and they gave me a brand new iphone.
I syned it up and my songs and videos stop half way through and start the next song..
It did that on my old iphone also..
    It's very annoying.
Same with sometimes glitchy music videos that i've bought through itunes so I know it isnt codec related..

    Welcome to the forums.
You can fix the songs by simply converting to AAC -- I promise you this will work.
Videos could indeed be a coding issue -- the iPhone is pretty particular about what it will play and unless you encoded them yourself (using a quality program like Handbrake with the iPhone preset) your best bet is to reencode them.

Why does every movie I download stop half way and say err=-50/err-39? I also have internet connection that is really good and it keeps saying to check that

Perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:
