Songs stop in the middle of play and go on to next song in itunes

I have recently noticed several songs in my itunes that will start playing normally and then at a certain point in the song it will end and go on to the next song. However, if I scroll the play bar past the point where the song stops, it will finish playing the song just fine. Is there a setting to change, or did my songs just mysteriously become corrupted?? If anyone knows anything please help me. Thanks

iTunes for Windows: Songs and other audio don't sound right
Particularly the part about updating your audio drivers.
If that doesn't work, I need to know what audio hardware you have (manufacturer / model) and what kind of computer you have (manufacturer / model). I also need to know if the Quicktime Player that comes with iTunes has the same problem when playing back audio files.

I downloaded iPhoto Library upgrader, installed and attempted to use it. It stops in the middle of operation and will not finish. Now I cannot open my iPhoto Library! I'm freaking out a little. When I try to open iPhoto, it tells me I need to "prepare it" with the upgrader program. When I select iPhoto Library as the Library I want to upgrade, it tells me I don't need to upgrade it and should be able to open it with iPhoto. Ugh. Help??

If your photos have any value to you you should have an ongoing backup program - TimeMachine is a good first choice
For this purpose simply duplicating the iphoto library is adequate since you are not trying to protect against human or hardware failures - just against a rare rebuild issue

Song wont play and just jumped to next song automatically

Hi guys, Im using MacBook Pro OS X 10.9.2, iTunes 11.1.5(5) and iPhone 4S
Actually, i added my musics on iTunes library and all of them play properly in iPhone but when im going to play a specific one it wont play and automatically jumped to next track. Once I deleted the song on MacBook's library and add it again but still cant paly it on iPhone! However, i can play the exactly same song on MacBook without any problem but in iPhone cannot!!!!
is there any solution for this issue ?!

Hi Sharif - when you go to play the music on your iPhone is there a cloud icon with a red arrow next to the length of the track as shown below?
If so the track is not on your phone. Tap the cloud and it will download to your phone and once finished you can play it normally.

I solved a similar issue, where some songs in my itunes library would play to some random point and then skip to the next song. It started when I replaced my computer, so I copied over my library to my new computer and went through installing and importing on my new machine. When I noticed this behavior for random songs, here's what I found.
The affected files were .m4p files I'd purchased from the itunes store. This had nothing to do with activating them with my Apple account, which I did. The easiest way I found to identify the affected files was to view all your music in itunes, right click on any of the column headers, and select 'kind' so that column shows. Then order your music by the 'kind' column, and scroll down until you reach the songs where kind = 'Protected AAC audio file' (not to be confused with Purchased AAC audio file, which were unaffected in my case). Highlight just those 'Protected AAC audio file' songs, copy them, and paste them in some temporary directory. Back in itunes, now delete these hightlighted songs (I chose to keep the files rather than permanently delete them, but I think either would work).
Before adding these songs back to your library, if you want them pulled into your library directory rather than left in temp, make sure in Edit > Preferences > Advanced > check off Copy files to itunes media folder when adding to library.
Then in itunes, click File > Add file to library > browse to your temp directory > select all files > and click Open to add these files back to your library. After that, all my previously disfunctional files exhibited normal playback.
I hope you find this before you waste many hours on this like I did.

Songs ending in the middle of play?

I completed an album and all four of the songs will stop at around 1 min and skip to the next song or stay silent for another 2 and a half mins. Anyone else have this problem? Can songs be re-downloaded? Thanks!:)

The iPod seems to fail to play all of the occasional track that iTunes, and indeed other PMPs, are happy to play. There is probably some minor technical error in the internal structure of the file which is normally ignored by other playback software but causes the Classic to bail out.
Some users have suggested that completely removing all id3 tags and then replacing the information is often a solution. This can be achieved in iTunes by selecting an affected track, right/option clicking and using the option Convert id3 tags > None. Since some files may mistakenly have more than one tag you may need to repeat this action. Once you have confirmed that no tag is present you can replace the tag information using Convert id3 tags > V2.3 (I believe it is recommended to avoid using V2.4).
Personally I've have found files for which this solution doesn't work. In this case the workaround is either to re-rip the tracks or get iTunes to re-encode the file, e.g. convert AAC to MP3 or vice versa and sync the newly encoded file to the iPod instead. Because transcoding will cause a loss of fidelity you should keep your original file so that if a future iPod firmware resolves this issue you can put your original file back onto the iPod.

Sound stops in the middle of playing a movie

I am having a problem that started approximately 2 or 3 months ago with my 3rd Gen Apple TV. We will be watching a movie that is being streamed off a laptop or desktop that is sharing movies via iTunes sharing, and the sound will just stop working in the middle, but the video continues to work. I have tried things like making video a priority on my wireless network, plugging the apple TV directly into my laptop via network cable, and even reloading the Apple TV via iTunes. All I have to do is go back out to the main menu, and start the movie again, and the sound will work again for a little while. I also tried changing the sound settings someone else mentioned in another discussion, but that didn't appear to fix this. This seems to happen around every 10 minutes, and is getting pretty annoying. Any thoughts?

Sounds as though your AppleTV has issues with maintaining a stable wifi connection - this may be due to interference from neighbouring networks, microwaves, cordless landline phones and so forth.
AppleTV location may be poor for wifi connectivit, rarely AppleTV may be faulty.
While your laptop connection may be more stable it does not imply AppleTV should behave exactly the same as they may have different wifi chips/antennas etc - I often find some devices are better than others in teh same location.
The problem is that AppleTV 2/3 have no permanent storage only temporary memory. The original had a hard drive and could store rentals until they expired - AppleTV 2/3 tend to need to redownload them when there are issues.
If you fail to watch teh movie at all because of such issues contact iTunes store:

You may be better off renting in iTunes on the laptop and then playing back on AppleTV under Computers>iTunes library>Rentals.
Rentals made in iTunes will be available on the LAN to AppleTV once they are FULLY downloaded. iTunes and AppleTV need to be enabled for Home Sharing, and laptop needs to be on with iTunes running.

Song stops in the middle

I purchased and downloaded an album and I got most of the songs except some that did not fully download (at least so I imagine since they don't play all the way to the end) and one song that I only have like half a second of. What can I do to get these songs full? I don't want to rebuy the album or pay anything. THANKS.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the tracks and try redownloading fresh copies.
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

Is there a fix for my video and audio stopping in the middle of playing but the video timer keeps going

This happens on YouTube, Safari and Music videos. I just got my iPhone 5s a week a go and this has been a problem since day 1. My phone is not jailbroken. Let me know if there's any other relevant information that would be helpful in answering this question.

If after attempting the above steps, your Apple TV is still unable to connect to your Wi-Fi network:

HT1657 watching a movie on Apple TV and it just stops in the middle of it. Try settings and check for rental and just get the spinning wheel for over 30 minutes.

Can't seem to finish a movie on AppleTV. It just stops in the middle of movie and returns to menu. Try to check for rentals under settings like it says to when we try and download movie again and all I get is a spinning wheel. At least the second this has happened in the middle of a movie. Beginning to think AppleTV is junk!

Help! AME Stops in the Middle of Encoding - AME 5.5

Hello - I am hoping someone can help me as I am hitting a brick wall with my production suite! I am going to be as detailed as possible however I am not an expert in how software and my hardware interact.
Issue - My Adobe Media Encoder stops in the middle of encoding and does not complete the task in the queue.
Software -
1. Adobe Production Premium - Premiere Pro CS 5.5 (v5.5.2) and Adobe Media Encoder (v5.5.1.12)
2. Mac OSX v10.7.5
Hardware -
1. 12GB Ram
2. ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB Graphics Card (obviously not supporting Mercury Engine)
3. 2x 2.4GHz 6-Core Intel Zeon
Issue History
- Until this point, all of my projects, videos, and exported media have been 78 minutes or less. I am now working on a project that is 112 minutes of full HD footage. Before Thursday, AME has performed flawlessly for me. The project in Premiere Pro has source video footage that is 1920x1080 29.97 (50mbps). On this Premiere Sequence there are several dynamically linked AE compositions with upper and lower thirds and titling. Finally, there are maps that are in native 720p size movies that are scaled to fit throughout the program at the beginning of each chapter.
- I am attempting to export and encode this video for use in Encore. I have queued the project for export out of Premiere into AME using the following settings:
H.264 Blu-ray
Video Only
VBR 1-pass
Custom Bitrate - 26.5 target, 35 max
Render at Maximum Depth
Use Maximum Render Quality
Prior to Updates in Software:
- On Thursday I queued 4 files for export: 2- PCM audio only files, 1-H.264 Blu-ray video only, and MPEG-2 DVD video only
- AME ran over night and produced the following: 2 audion files completed successfully, 1 H.264 file completed successfully, MPEG2 file seemed to be 'hung up" and AME was not responding.
- Shut down/forced quite AME and tried to encode only the H.264 file. The encode failed as it hung up at different points in each attempt in AME.
- I searched and installed updates for my adobe production suite (premiere pro, AME, and others were updated to the versions listed above).
- Friday I attempted to export the H.264 file from Pr to AME and it encoded successfully!
After Updates were Installed:
- I had to make some additional revisions to the project in Pr after reviewing a draft Blu-ray. Now trying to export the revised video has failed each attempt:
- On Saturday, I experienced the following results with AME:
2 PCM Audio Only files - encoded successfully in AME (with Pr running)
H.264 Video Only file (specs above) failed - the AME froze about 1/3 through the composition.
At this point I shut the computer down and let it sit overnight.
- Today (Sunday), I tried again and experienced the following:
H.264 Video Only encode (same specs) though this time I shut down Pr thinking this would save RAM and the encode failed again. I did notice that it locked up at the same point as the previous attempt on Saturday which was a new symptom.
RAM usage was 7-9GB during the encode.
The place where AME locks up is immediately before a transition from the source video to the 720p map footage. Although there are two other segments with the same transitions and 720p footage that it did encode through.
I have researched this issue on this forum and have read the following thread thoroughly: http://forums.adobe.com/thread/856263
The above thread described the issue I was encountering before I installed the updates precisely. But now I am still unable to successfully encode this project in AME to H.264?
I am hoping someone can provide something to help, I have a completed project and I can't get it encoded! (I contacted Adobe and they said my SW was now unsupported from their customer service).

Cannot restore iphone, it stops in the middle

Try to restore the iphone 4. After extracting the software, itune shows restoring the software. But it stops in the middle, about 30% and never proceed for a whole night. What's wrong?

If the data stops in the middle of the load nothing will happen. once you can run the balance data BUT please note that when you are again uploading the file you must delete the data from the TAB DE LIMITED File to where it has been done and again start from there, so that the remaining data will be uploaded.

Whenever I play this one song on my iPod nano, it stops in the middle and skips to the next song. It's the same for iTunes. I had looked it up on other forums and other people with the same problem were told that they had to reinstall iTunes or something, not sure I'll really have to do that. Thank you for any advice!

Well, the problem is with iTunes, too. It will still skip on there. Will I have to delete it from there and download it again.
