Songs transferred into my ipod go out of sync.

Hi everyone, my 1st post hope you can help me, when i put full albums from itunes7 into my ipod nano, sometimes in the nano 1 full album, will be shown 2 or 3 times in the artist category i.e elbow album leaders of the free world, when I go into artists > elbow will show twice with 2 tracks of the album on one entry and the other 10 tracks on the other entry. Yet when I go into albums > leaders of the free world shows just once and all tracks in the correct order.
I also don't know if its connected but the two tracks that are listed seperately in the ipod, are also out of order in the itunes listing. Help appreciated thanks, this has affected a couple of albums I have in.

Yes, I have the same exact problem; it's very annoying and quite irritating that neither the iPod nor iTunes offers any way of deleting the incorrect lyrics [from the iPod].  Of course, since I had only been adding lyrics manually, myself, for a few songs, it just means that I won't add any more partial lyrics—but still, irritating.  Definitely a bug (not a feature request!)

  • Why doesnt my library of songs copy into my ipod when updating new music?

I just updated and restored my ipod, but when copying my library into my ipod, although itunes shows each song successfully loading, only the first song of my library is present in my ipod when finished updating.

Sounds like a corrupt file somewhere on the ipod maybe. Try this...
Put the ipod into "Disk Mode" http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651 THEN connect it to the PC and restore it again with the latest ipod updater 06-28-2006

  • ITunes kicking iPod classic out during syncing

Okay -- this is kind of weird, but I thought I'd give it a shot on this board. When I connect my iPod Classic to iTunes it automatically syncs, but then instead of saying it's okay to disconnect it "kicks" the iPod out of iTunes and the Apple logo shows up on the iPod. Then after a few seconds, it will automatically reconnect and then go through the syncing process again. At that point, it will let me eject it.
Is this a problem if this keeps happening? I can live with it, even though it's kind of annoying. Does anyone know why this would happen? I just upgraded by iPod software and wondered it it's a bug in either iTunes or the new iPod software. Will it damage my iPod to have this keep happening?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I am still having the problem. I have noticed a pattern to the seemingly random freezes.
The iPod is stopping to Sync at almost predictable points during the sync. The first stoppage occurs around the 1.9GB part of the sync. This has not always been the same file but it is always around the same place.
When I sync in small chunks the freeze occurs at almost the same place every time. As soon as it freezes, iTunes is toast and the entire computer needs to be restarted.
Anyways, the freeze happens around every 2GB's of data transferred. It does not have to be in one chunk, it is almost like it is happening on the iPod. Like the iPod is kicking itself out of the sync at certain points along it's hard drive or something. Once it freezes and I restart the computer, I can transfer another 2 GB before it freezes again... then restart, repeat. Finally I was able to load up the 14.8 GB I had in my iTunes. Several hours later... not sure if I should take the iPod back or not. If it is the iPod and that fixes the problem great... but if it is my machine, I get another 3-4 hours syncing and restarting my computer. Wheeee!

  • ITunes 5: Library and iPod totals out of sync

Anyone else experiencing this one since upgrading to iTunes 5? I think it's related to the fact that podcasts are now included in the Library in iTunes5 and not separated like in iTunes 4.9. What's weird is the more I update my podcasts, the more out of sync the two totals seem to get. I've tried removing/readding my entire music library/podcasts in iTunes 5 but still seeing discrepencies between it and my iPod totals. When I check Settings - About on my iPod, it seems to list just the song data. Any tips/tricks to dealing w/ this one?

Same here... I have my podcast prefs set to save the last 3 episodes but still see all kinds of old podcasts in my iTunes library (and in my iTunes\iTunes Music\Podcasts directory on my hard drive). Suspect all of this is related to the new iTunes 5 implementation where podcasts get treated as songs and some bug that's preventing the podcasts episodes from being purged correctly. I find I can delete the older podcasts from my iTunes library manually but the Library totals don't seem to update. Also noticed the Settings- About values on my iPod just list "song" counts (no podcasts) further compounding the problem. Wonder if the rumored 5.1 release will address this?

  • IPod Video out of sync with audio.

    Hey guys.
I recently purchased a video ipod and was looking for ways to convert my videos & DVD's to work on my ipod.
    So far I've done
    cucusoft
    psp9
    videora
    pqdvd
    pocketdvix
quicktime (freezes up on my pc, and takes ages to convert)
and i've yet to find any way of stopping the audio and video from being out of sync (by anything from half a second to about 7 seconds) with one an other...
is there a program or technique I could use that will enable me to watch video that is in sync with the audio?
on a footnote, the quicktime does work but regulalarly shuts down on my computer and takes WAY too long to convert.
Please help me out here guys as I am reaching the end of my tether.
    Thanks.
    /\Ben/\

hi -- i've tried nearly all the programs you have, and have finally gotten the pq dvd to ipod video converter to work out of all of them. btw, the xilisoft one does NOT work, and i'm trying to get my money back from them, so buyer beware!
anyway, i found the issue to be the frame rate -- on movies, i was able to use 30fps successfully (worked for star wars, for example), but on native tv show dvd's (such as sex and the city) i had to use 24fps.
see if that works for you.

  • Video recorded directly into iMovie 11 is out of sync

I opened iMovie 11 on my brand new Lion MacBook Pro and recorded a video directly into the built in camera. As the video was recording I could see it starting to delay the video and image. As the video went on it continued to get further and further out of sync. Replaying the clips in iMovie showed that the out of sync issue was still present. But if I play the recorded clips through QuickTime the clips are in sync.
I continued to edit the piece hoping that it was just a preview issue. But after optimizing clips and exporting to Quicktime the out of sync issue is still there.
In summary - the raw clips are in sync in QuickTime. Anything viewed or output from iMovie 11 is out of sync.
I've been reading through the forums and tried some suggestions such as detaching the audio. This does not work. I "Optimized the Clip" (which was a direction in official Apple Support) and this did nothing.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Exactly the same here. It starts fine for about a minute and a half, but then it slips and gets progressively worse.
It's making me really mad too, because I can no longer just turn on iSight and record. I have all the latest updates, in fact I just did the main system update today as well.

  • Iphone audio imported into iMovie 11 is out of sync and sped up

When I import video from my iPhone 4S and 5 into iMovie the audio is 'sped up', i.e. everyone's voice is higher pitched and the audio is noticably out of synce after just a few seconds and then the audio runs out before the video clip stops playing. You can see this in the image where the waveform stops before the video stops.
When I import it from my AVCHD camera everything is fine.

  • How do I fix broken song files in iTunes with songs transferred from my iPod to my computer?

Recently got a new computer but when I tried to transfer the files in My Music>iTunes to my new computer I realized that only about half the songs in my library have folders in the iTunes folder, even purchased songs (no idea why). I could download mp3s of every broken song and re-do it that way, but I would rather figure out a way to restore the files from my iPod and save a lot of time.
I enabled disk use on my iPod and dragged the folders from iPod_control>Music to a folder on my desktop but the songs are all assigned random four letter names. I don't know if iTunes will be able to detect the right file to restore each song if I just direct it to this folder (using the prompt when you try to play the song), not to mention that the random songs are broken up into 49 separate folders so I would just have to randomly guess which folder to direct it to (I have 1993 songs). If I drag all the files into iTunes will it just create doubles of each song? I don't care about play counts, I don't know if that's stored in the song file, but it's not a big deal for me to replace all the songs in iTunes with the files from my iPod as long as all the files work.

Thank you so much! I now know how to convert AIFF audio files to ACC files, and I can keep the original AIFF file! One other concern though -- how do I tell which is the bigger AIFF file and which is the new smaller ACC file? iTunes doesn't have an obvious place/window that tells me the audio file size. Is there a way to tell the two apart. It looks like it creates an identical file name, not even a "copy" extension or anything -- so it's impossible to tell them apart. Is there another secret here?

How do I transfer songs that are on my IPOD touch to my new PC? It only recognizes songs I purchased on itunes?

    That is correct.
The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only excetion is itunes purchases.
The music came from your computer in the first place and should still be there and in your regular backup copy of your computer.

  • Songs no longer on iPod; how to safely sync?

I did an iTunes sync between my iPod Classic 160 Gb and my MacBook Pro as usual. Except that it didn't go as usual. The music is still there on my computer but the iPod has no songs on it. My iTunes is 11.0.4 which it says is the latest version. I'm afraid to reconnect the iPod to the computer for fear it will wipe out the songs in iTunes on the computer, at which time I'd have lost everything. On the Mac I went into iTunes-preferences-devices and to my surprise found "prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" checked. I can't imagine that it was checked before or how did the iPod always sync automatically? I did not intend to go in an change this setting and don't remember even going to settings. Also, I don't want the songs to go onto the iPhone or they would eat up all the storage capacity. Is there a way to do a one-way sync so that the songs on the computer would be safe?

Uncheck the ringtones in your sync options in iTunes and apply, check them again and apply once more.

  • Have new computer and songs on iPhone and Ipod Nano won't sync

My old desktop crashed so we had to buy a new laptop. I have downloaded iTunes twice and tried every trick in the blogs and nothing works. I have an iPhone 3Gs and an iPod Nano full of songs but the only songs syncing are the ones that I've purchased on my iPhone. Nothing else is syncing. Also if I access the Iphone from the my Computer menu it shows up as a camera and if I access my Ipod nano none of the songs show up. Is there a way to sync my iTunes library from my Iphone or Nano? Is the external drive necessary(these are the only explanations on the blogs)? If yes then I'm done because my computer crashed. Please help!!

It has nothing to do with de-authorizing the old computer.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer song files from iPod to computer (because it does not have that function), except as you indicated, for songs that you purchased from the iTunes Store.  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that will allow transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links (if you use a Mac, add "mac" to he search).
Once the song files are on your new computer, add them to the iTunes library.  You can simply drag the files, or the folder(s) containing the files, to the iTunes window.
NOTE:  This is how you can de-authorize the old computer without the old computer.  Run iTunes and go to the iTunes Store in the sidebar.  Log in with your Apple ID, if you are not already.  Click on your Apple ID at the upper right corner of the window to go to your Account Information screen.  There should be a button to Deauthorize All.  This will deauthorize your current computer too, but you can authorize it again.  (You can have up to FIVE computers authorized for your iTunes Store account, so you can just leave the old one authorized.)
