Songs won't come off of iPod!

Hi, I am asking if there is anyway I can get songs off of my iPod and onto iTunes?
Basically three past singles of the week are stuck on my iPod all because I downloaded them from iTunes on my computer first, and later when I hadn't synced the songs I thought I'd download them again to my iPod Touch from the iTunes on there. This made the songs two versions, but I can't transfer the duplicates onto iTunes on my computer. Do I need to delete the three songs off of my computer iTunes and then they'll sync or should I restore the iPod Touch in the hope of removing them, as when I recently updated the iPod to IPhone 4 software it backed them up so now there is a copy of all three songs on my iPod, (meaning six in total!)!?

luckily there are programs in place that will allow u to download stuff from ipods onto ur computer. For Mac users, use senuti. Pc users like myself should use a program called sharepod.
if u google sharepod, u should be able to download it off one the sites. It is important to note that I had to download additional componets fromt the windows website to make it work. (Side Note, I have Windows Xp)
AFter the program is up and running, you will be able to download ur content into ur pc. I recomend putting it all in one folder so u can then drop the folder on top of itunes. This way all the media well then go into ur itunes libary. If this doesnt work let me kmow

You might want a more Mac-centric version of that post which is directed more at Windows users.
iTunes will only give you the option to copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer, you'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads and including iTunes purchased songs and in some cases, videos and games) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here (you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well):

There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide

  • Can songs be deleted directly off the iPod?

Can songs be deleted directly off the iPod without connecting to the computer? A co-worker purchased an iPod but decided he didn't want it and wants to return it so he deleted the program off his computer. He asked me how to get it off the iPod. I told him I didn't think he could that I knew of. Anyone know?

Can songs be deleted directly off the iPod without connecting to the computer?

  • How can I take something  I pasted off my  screen? It won't come off

I was in my calendar trying to add something to a day and I pasted something and this won't come off my screen. I can not delete this thing. I have restarted the computer, logged out and I can't click on my calendar with this "pasted" thing on my computer screen. What can I do?

This "thing" only pops up when I open the Calendar. So It is not in my  Desktop..Then I can't do anything with the calendar with this on the the screen. The only thing I can do is "force Quit" the calendar..I am using the calendar on my Airbook until I figure out what to do with the IMac. I was pasting something on a date in my calendar and that's how this got there. Any other ideas?  thank you Dominic for your answer...Randy

I have tried using water, glass cleaner, and glasses cleaner wipes but it won't come off. Is this some type of defect or is there some other way to clean it?

  • Weird Coating ... Won't come off 1 day old computer

Hi All. I bought my macbook pro 17 " yesterday. Spent a fortune on it. I used it for the first time this morning and there is this weird coating on the bottom left side. I thought it was from my hands so I tried to wipe it off and it just smears and looks terrible. This was bought new at the Apple Store. I am upset. Is this normal? I will totally take it back to them because I didn't pay this much for an imperfect computer.

Doesn't sound normal, my (15") MBP has no such coating/film that won't come off. Take it back and ask for an exchange if you're not satisfied with it.

    Correct.
To remove the Restrictions passcode you will need to either...
    1)  Restore the Device as New...
See Sections 5 and 6 here...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
    OR...
    2)  From a Backup created Before the Restrictions Code was set....

  • Why are the songs I've deleted off my Ipod grayed out?

I've deleted the songs manually off my ipod, as there is an option to do so. However, when I click into my songs on the Ipod, there are the songs that I had already deleted and are grayed out. They won't play-because I've deleted them. I've gone as far as deleting them off my Itunes and computer all together. The grayed out songs are still there and will not go away! Has anyone else had this problem and been able to fix it?

Depending upon what country that you are in you might be able to re-download them via the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes : re-downloading.

  • Do not disconnect won't come off AFTER ejected

hello, i just bought my ipod yesterday and already i think i have screwed up. i had the ipod connected to my computer last night so it could upload the songs and accidentlally fell asleep so i think the computer fell asleep. anyway, the "do not disconnect" symbol appears and will not come off. i've read several things that gave directions on how to "eject" and "safely remove hardware" and i've done both and restarted my computer, and the symbol still appears. i've tryed resetting it and that doesn't work either. what should i do?
      Windows XP

If you have your iPod set to transfer your music manually, then that “do not disconnect” message will continue to be displayed on your iPod until you manually eject it.
You can do this by clicking on the little eject icon next to the iPod listing in the source window of iTunes, or right click on it and select “eject”. There is also an iPod 'eject' icon in the lower right hand corner of iTunes. Another way would be to use the “safely remove hardware” icon in the system tray next to the clock (looks like a grey rectangle with a green arrow above it). Click on this then select your iPod. Or through Windows, select start/my computer, right click on the iPod, select eject.
If you have your iPod set to automatically sync with iTunes, right click on the iPod in iTunes, select options and if you have a check mark in the box marked “enable disk use”, remove it and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished transferring music.

  • Some Songs Won't Play on the iPod

    I have a bizarre problem.
All of my songs that are on my iPod are in iTunes (How else would they get on my iPod xP) and they all work fine. In general, the songs on my iPod work/play fine, minus a few.
When I go to play them, the load up, I see everything that should be there (album cover, band name, song name etc.) but the song doesn't play. What does happen though, is that the iPod rapidly goes through the album, going song to song, without playing any of them, as if I were pressing the skip song button. (which I am not pressing)
Then it slows down and stays on one song, staying at the 0:00 mark, even though the play arrow at the top is there. If I press pause and then play again, the arrow icon changes, but the song still won't play.
Now if I go to any other song by any other band the iPod won't play that song. If I press the center button, and move what part of the song it is at, it skips to the next song, and it doesn't matter how far into the song I put it. It's like the screen shows there is 4:24(or any time, this is just an example) of a song but the iPod thinks there is 0:00.
A simple restart of the iPod sets everything back to normal, I can listen to my other music without a problem, but the same thing happens when I select any of those songs.
At first I thought they were just broken files on the iPod, or even from the CD which I uploaded to iTunes. So I just ignored it, and didn't play those songs. But then I got more music yesterday and put it on my iPod, and the same thing happens to the entire album. So I decide to go open iTunes, and see what would happen if I tried to play the files on the computer. In the iTunes library, they worked fine. I go to where my iPod is listed, and play it from there it also works fine. So it's only on the iPod.
Is it the format or the bit rate of the file? I don't think this is the problem, but maybe it is, so here's the info on the files.
    Kind: MPEG audio file
    Bit Rate: 320 kbps
    Format: MEG-1, Layer 3
    Encoded: LAME3.93
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

i have this exact problem on my 120 classic. it started earlier today on a few song i had downlaoded from the iTunes store. i thought it was an accessability issue since i had just updated to the latest iTunes, but it started happening on my songs from CDs, and then what you described happened on every single song i played on shuffle (out of about 10,000 songs total)
i got home and plugged it into to itunes only to find it told me to restore it. so i did. then it looked as if it was fixed (the bar at the bottom showed everything on it)
then i unplugged it, and it said no songs, yet there was 50gb of info on it.
i checked under settings and it said it was all 'other'. then i plugged it in again and restored it again and the same thing happened, 50gb of other.
iTunes works perfectly still. im not sure what the problem is, and ill probably go to the nearest iTunes store this weekend and ill tell you how it goes if theres a way to fix it.

  • My I phone won't come off silent keeps saying I got headphones plugged in

When you turn your phone on and off silent at the side I tried turning it on and turn the ringer volume up but it said that I had headphones in so it won't ring or play any media it only plays it I put my head phones in I check to see of it was the speakers by changing my ringtone on settings but it worked and played fine it's just that my problem is it won't come on loud and it says I have headphones plugged in?

Blew down it, short and sharp - being careful not to spit!
Then I think I twisted a corner of tissue paper tightly and wiggled that in the socket then blew again.
