Songs wont sync to phone!!!

what do i do? i press sync and then it just stops, i dont know what to do.

When syncing an iPhone, iTunes creates and maintains a backup file for each iPhone that is synced with iTunes on that computer. This backup file is updated if needed immediately before the sync process which can't be controlled.
Restoring as a new iPhone shouldn't affect this but depending on the iTunes version being used might.

purchased songs wont sync to my iphone from my imac--shows grayed checkmarks for each one

If the songs are greyed out, you may have set up automatic syncing with a different iTunes library.
Set your iPod to sync manually, as described here:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12113
After syncing once with your current iTunes library, you can set it back to autimatic sync.

My iPod is a click wheel...I think that's fifth generation?
I've always used my firewire cable to update my iPod. I've tried using USB in the past but for some reason it always says that my iPod has low battery and won't let me update it, so I just use firewire. Can I not use firewire with itunes 7?
I'll try using the USB again. It's laying around here somewhere. Just gotta find it.

  • The new update wont sync my phone with itunes

I updated my itunes and now my phone wont sync or charge off my computer.

Just got a reply to the question--I forgot that with the iphone you have to open itunes, click on your iphone device, go to the music tab and click on the music you want to sync to the iphone.  Kind of cool--that way if you have a big library you don't have to uncheck everything before syncing...
So I can leave everything checked for my ipod classic and still only sync a relatively smaller number of songs to my iphone.
    Sheesh...what'll they think of next?
BTW sorry for the needless censorship generated in my last post--who was to know that the word starts-with-s rhymes-with-trucks was so naughty?

  • Purchased Songs wont Sync to ipod?

Iv'e just recived a 8G ipod nano for my birthday with an itunes gift voucher. I purchased some music and then tried to sync it with my ipod but on the computer it comes up with a message box saying that it 'cannot transfer select songs because you are not autherised to play them on this computer". So I went in to the "store" option in the itunes browser and selected "autherise" but it then tells me its already autherised. So I tried to sync again but it came up with the 'you are not authrised to play this song' message again. It's strange because i can still play it on my computer but it wont sync to my ipod. What can I do?

    Hey there,
Have you tried deauthorizing the computer first and then authorizing it again to see if that takes care of anything? Give it shot. Hope it helps.

  • Songs are syncing to phone but some songs not showing in the playlist, you have to manually search for them...

    Hi guys,
All music is syncing across from my purchased items to my phone... However, some are missing from the 'purchased' playlist and I can only come across them when scrolling through the 'Artist' or 'Song' menu. I then have to manually add them back to my purchased playlist.
Is there any way to stop this?
I want all my 'purchased' songs in that playlist and then have all of my other music from CDs in their individual ones (which works fine).
This happens for about 5/6 every time and it's a nightmare trying to work out which ones are missing so to speak unless I stumble upon then.
So basically, the songs ARE on the phone but not showing in the playlist, just to make that clear.
    Many thanks in advance...

This sounds very similar to an issue that I experienced.  There was a phantom 6G assigned to movies even when no movies were on my iPad.  I could make the phantom 6G come and go by checking/unchecking the "Sync Movies" box in iTunes.
First, try a system reset.  It probably won't fix your problem but it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
There is one other thing that you can try but I don't want to describe it unless the above doesn't help.

  • Songs wont sync to ipod (greyed out with circle)

Bought song on iTunes store downloads and plays in iTunes but wont sync to my ipod?  Apparently this is an issue cause its happened to me a lot lately. This shouldn't happen but there is a quick fix without downloading anything or resetting anything that I have figured out. First delete all greyed out songs from any playlists then go to song In iTunes delete the song or whole album and choose the MOVE TO RECYCLE option. Next go to recycle bin and highlight all songs and or albums choose RESTORE. Now go to iTunes choose ADD FOLDER TO LIBRARY then add the folder or file back to iTunes it should now sync perfectly.  I think there are other ways but this to me is the easiest as of now I don't really understand why its necessary for only some songs. Hopefully someone from iTunes or apple or whatever can figure it out. Hope this helps.

  • Updated to 7 now itunes wont sync with phone

I updated my pone to ios 7 and now it wont sync to my itunes on my computer which is also a mac.. i just keeps popping up a message saying my phone cannont be used because it needs itunes version 11.1 or later... my phone says all my software is up to date andmy mac is up to date as well.. HELP!

It's maybe because Windows 7 uses a MTP driver instead of the USBAAPL by default, and what you need is an 'Apple Mobile Device USB Driver' which you might not have in 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers' (check it and see).
Update the driver by expanding 'Portable Devices' from the list, right click Apple iPhone/iPhone and select 'Update Driver Software'. Then select 'Browse My computer...'
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers - then hit 'Next'.

  • New iTunes buys wont sync from phone to computer - Help please!!

    Hi,
When I have tried to sync up my phone to my laptop I have found that some of the music and films that I have downloaded to my phone don't come through to my laptop. Basically my question is if I restore my phone to the previous backup, will I lose everything that I have bought since that last backup? Or is there some way of getting them back from the store if I've already paid for them?
Sorry for being dense but I've had an Iphone for over 3 years now and this is my 1st problem so I've never needed to investigate further! - I'm one of the lucky ones ;0)
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks

If you have Sync Music selected under the Music tab, Sync Movies selected under the Movies tab, sync TV Shows under the TV Shows tab (you aren't manually managing music and video with your iPhone), and you have Sync Apps selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, after downloading a song, a movie, a tv show, and a 3rd party app direct with your iPhone, the song, movie, tv show, and 3rd party app will be copied to your iTunes library automatically the first time you sync your iPhone with iTunes after doing so.
No iTunes content on your iPhone is included with your iPhone's backup. All iTunes content on your iPhone should be in your iTunes library on your computer. If you are manually managing music and video with your iPhone, then is a manual process in both directions. You must manually transfer music and movies/tv shows from your iPhone to your iTunes library. This will not be done automatically by iTunes for music and videos when manually managing music and videos - manual means manual all the way in this regard.

  • Songs wont sync to my ipod

when i goto sync my ipod i get this pop up saying (songs on the ipod"my ipod"cannot be updated because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist) so if you know whats wrong can you plz help me

You get this problem when the option 'Sync Music - Selected playlists' is being used to sync your iPod. If the playlist selected is deleted from iTunes the iPod no longer has a location to sync from and you get an error. (Syncing selected playlists by the way is a useful setting to use when the iPod is smaller than the iTunes library). However you can make a new one or make use of an existing one.
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -My iPod for example (the dash will position it at the top of the playlists in Sources). You can make it a smart playlist that picks the songs for you or just a normal one and drag whatever content you want to have into the playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod (for example 3700MB for a 4G iPod Nano. Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod:
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
    Syncing Music to iPod
To make a random playlist go to File>New Smart Playlist.
    Uncheck "Match the following rule"
Check "Limit to" put "3700" in the number box, choose "MB" from the first list box, choose "Random" from the next list box. Check "Live Updating"
When you want to change the selection in the smart playlist just delete everything in it and it will add a new selection. When you want to change the normal playlist just delete out what you don't want and drag in a new selection.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Purchased song wont download onto phone?

I purchased a song a few days ago and it comes up "Unable to Download Song." over and over.
I have tried restarting my phone, exiting the app, everything.
I have bought songs after I bought that song and they downloaded perfectly, but that one song will not.
    Any help?

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Certain songs wont sync to my itouch

    Itouch 5
    Windows 7
A couple months ago, I updated my Itouch 5 to IOS 7. I noticed that all the songs that were unchecked were on my itouch. Thinking that maybe I had accidently checked them all again, I didnt see it as a big deal. Two weeks ago, I imported a few songs from some CD's onto my itunes. After seeing it was done syncing, I disconnected it and noticed that none of the songs I imported were there. So I tried syncing again but it didnt work (I have itunes automatically update and sync any songs to my ipod when connected). When it didnt sync I decided to just leave it alone for a couple days and wait until the next time I downloaded a song. A week later, I purchased a song on itunes. I checked to see if it was on recently added like it normally does but it wasnt there. I checked 'Songs' and surprisingly enough it was there. Then today, I went to try to sync my ipod again but nothing happened. Nothing imported to my itouch. And all the songs that I thought I must've checked.....were still unchecked just like I left them. I have tried closing itunes and then opening it again. I've also tried restarting my itouch. Could it possibly be that maybe my wire is worn out and just not working anymore? Or did updating the IOS change something?

Do the songs play in iTunes?
