Sonic Impact VIDEO-55 Compatiblity with Vista.

I spent the better part of two days trying to find out how to downgrade the ipod classic software to 1.0.2 so I could use the Sonic Impact VIDEO-55 using the Vista OS.
Everything in these two posts are still in effect but the files locations are not
applicable to Vista.

You have to go to control panel and into folder options and show hidden files and folders.
Then you can swap out the ipod firmware files in....
C:\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates
Hope this saves someone a few hours of their life.

The Sonic Impact Video55 is compatible with the Classic and new Nano iPods, but it is not compatible with the Touch iPod. The directions for use with the Classic and new Nano are as follows:
To enable your “Classic” or “Nano 3G” iPods the ability to watch videos on your Sonic Impact Video55, please follow the steps below:
Step1) First update the iPod to the software version 1.0.2
Step2) Then switch on the TV Out option.
step3) Place the iPod in the Video55 dock and switch the Video55 on and play a video.
Step4)At this time, you will be viewing only the blue screen.
Step5)Now go to the Menu on the Video55 and change the source from iPod to Video and then back to iPod. It will now play videos. Any control of forwarding the video or going to the next video you will have to use only the next/skip button on the iPod.
This worked with my Classic 80G and my friends new Nano.

i got a sonic impact video 55 for christmas, and i hooked it up to my video ipod, but i am having a lot of trouble with the directions.. they are a bit unclear.. please help?

I too got one for Christmas. I went to the website and found the manual there http://www.si5.com/pub/v55_Manual.pdf. It doesn't have the "typos" that are in the manual that came with it. I find that if I use the remote control everything works well. If you have a specific question, let me know.

  • Adobe 7 is not compatible with Vista, If you are not satisfied with that answer...

Unfortunately for what I do for a living I can't use a mac, cannot WAIT till they do become compatible or I just switch professions!
I have adobe 7Pro because I MUST create PDF documents for my business, however when my laptop crashed for the 3rd time in less than a year and I was NOT about to pay HP $400 to reboot it, instead I had fun and smashed it (like in Office Space) and went out and bought a new Sony Vaio.  This laptop is nice and all however now ALL new computers come with Gates newest form of a rip off, VISTA, which had so many issues they release a new update for it every day and professional companies wouldn't touch it, so they FORCED it on us small business owners and personal computer users, such CRAP! (If you notice all large corporations use XP, there is no Vista for large corps, there's a reason for that...
The people that do NOT have the $ to keep upgrading and paying for FIX ITS online from some unknown who has figured a work around are forced to use this crap!!!  I'm BEYOND anoyed... ANYWHO I am installing my adobe 7pro and every time I open it I get asked to "ACTIVATE AGAIN" so I call in to get a NEW Activation code and a minute later it does it AGAIN... SOOO, I get Tech support and the IDIOT in India literally READS to me the following statements:
"Adobe 7 is not compatible with Vista"
I tell him, that's a lie because my friend uses it on vista.
He proceeds to READ to me "If you are not satisfied with that answer, then acrobat no longer supports Adobe 7". WTF?!?!? If I am not SATISFIED with that answer!??! aparantly he was NOT supposed to read THAT part!!! Laughing I proceed to tell him to piss off and hang up on him because I am SOOO tired of all these damn AMERICAN companies outsourcing their customer service to some 3rd world country where they pay these people $5 a week and have them just read from a ******* script for your problems, that is NOT technical support, that's BULL CRAP!  I know 4 yr olds that read english better!!!
I am sick and tired of it... I might just take advantage of the 14 day return policy and go to Apple and buy a mac next week and change my profession sooner than I had planned JUST TO AVOID USING THIS CRAP!!! ADOBE YOU SUCK!!! Microsoft SUCKS!!!
If you run into this problem do what I am doing, go to Apple and buy a mac, we need to stand up against all this and pay attention to the COMMERCIALS that are VERY TRUE and drop Microsoft, IBM, anything Gates related and stop using their products!!!

    Thanks Mike!
I'm just so frustrated, its bad enough my other laptop wasn't even 2 yrs old
yet and I've spent $800 to have it fixed twice already, this 3rd time I was
DONE... so I moved onto Sony, but this Vista just is making my life a living
hell, I just spent a fortune on the laptop, and now I have to buy Adobe 9
when my adobe 7 isn't even 2 yrs old... ugh... its just very frustrating and
nerve racking and is costing more than I make in a week in this business
(real estate processing)... I should sell Microsoft for a living, I'd be a
    millionaire!
My husband's Mac has been through hell and back physically, is 5 yrs old and
we've never had to take it in for any upgrades or issues, its SO easy to
use... why can't Microsoft be the same?!?!
Thanks for your input and for being understanding of my frustration, I bet
    you see those often! LOL

  • Nokia software updater compatible with Vista

I have Vista, the software updater is not compatible with Vista. What can I do?

Vista support was withdrawn due to compatibility problems. Lucky for you a version for vista users was released yesterday.
See this post for full details and a download link for the new version:

  • Illustrator CS3 not compatible with Vista

I downloaded the trial version of Illustrator CS3 because my previous program - Freehand, is not compatible with Vista. The Adobe site stated that Illustrator was capable of importing and editing Freehand files so I gave it a try.
Well, it does import the files with only a few minor font issues. BUT, when you try to SAVE or EXPORT it returns the error message: "can't save illustration". In other words, you can import, work, design, etc. but when it comes time to save or export your work, you can't. So the program is completely worthless.
Adobe should have made this bug or conflict clear before releasing the product with Vista compatibility and stating that it could import Freehand 9 files. What good is importing the files if you can't save them after making the changes?
I would caution anybody to wait until there is a patch or at least try the trial version before spending a lot of time and money on a program, only to find you can not save or export your work!

    >I finished editing a project in 2.0 and installed CS3 to finish. Now when I try to render the project it crashes and then I when I restart all of my media is unlinked so I relink save, crash, repeat forever. I guess I need to reinstll 2.0 this CS crap isn't working for me.
I had a similar problem. I started a 60-minute documentary under Premiere 6.5 and finished it in Pro 2.0. Nightmares!
I thus recommend starting and finishing each project in one version. I also recommend that when you get a version of Premiere running well on a particular system and you want to upgrade, you build an entirely new system and upgrade on THAT sys. Keep the old system because you have possibly scores or hundreds of hours into getting it to work perfectly. Sell these old systems off as turn-key systems to editors that are less experienced and don't need the power (yet). I have been doing this and it works out well. I am also developing a chain of trainees who will someday be able to COMPLETELY TAKE OVER MY EDITING POST AND THUS RELEASE ME FROM THIS HELL (so I can go back to producing and directing).

I tried to install Acrobat Pro XI on my laptop; but it failed to install because I have Vista operating system. Am I dead in the water, or is there a way to install an earlier version on my machine?

    Hi nirbhay,
You can purchase Acrobat Pro subscription and install it on Vista OS.
Please check : Tech specs | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro
The earlier versions Acrobat 9 and 10 are compatible with Vista but they are no longer available for purchase.

  • Cs3 and cs4 web standard compatible with vista home basic?

Are Adobe CS3 and CS4 Web Standard compatible with Vista Home Basic 32bit?
I only see Windows Vista Home Premium / Vista Business / Vista Enterprise / Vista Ultimate / XP listed as compatible.
    Many thanks.

Vista didn't exist when CS3 was released and as such, there is no official statement regard compatibility of CS3 with Vista Home Basic.
For CS4, we are very explicit. CS4 is not at all supported for Vista Home Basic (there are a number of networking and service support components that Microsoft leaves out of their Home Basic versions).

  • What version is compatible with Vista?

What verion of Adobe Reader is compatible with Vista?

If you read the Release Notes for 10.x carefully, you will find that the only Windows version that was dropped from support is Windowx XP (in 10.1.12).  Vista is still fully supported.
Regarding the "crapware": there are a few good alternate PDF viewers out there; the piece of software that you mentioned is not one of them.
I have tested that software since version 1.0, and each time they sneaked spyware onto my system.  In the first version they didn't even bother to mention it.  In version 2 they gave the user a choice, but installed the spyware anyway, without the possibility to uninstall.  I gave up testing that software after version 4.
So it's you that needs to use a very good antivirus product.  (Well, everybody should, actually.)

  • Will any Creative MP3/Video Players Work With Vista Ultimate/Yahoo Music Out of the B

i've had a heck of a time getting my zen touch to work with my new vista ultimate dell pc, almost ready to give up. why i'm even thinking of getting another creative device given the above i'm not sure, but if i was, do any of the current devices (20gb or greater, mostly for music but want video capabilities) work with vista and yahoo music correctly and without a huge amount of heartache? and if not, any other devices i should look at? i really like the yahoo music service so don't want to go the apple route. thx!

iTunes is only intended for iPods and iPhones. In recent releases, Apple has instituted changes that prevent it from being used with other devices, e.g. release 8.2.1 deliberately broke the ability to sync with the Palm Pre.
Since you will be using multiple platforms, make sure that all music that your rip or purchase is in MP3 format. Then your music can be used in iTunes, Creative, or any other player or program, without conversion or compatibility problems.
Per the problem with Zen and Vista, you may wish to try the question on a Zen discussion.

Is Panasonic HC-V500KCP HD Video Camera compatible with my 2009 iMovie on my MacBook?

While we all have MacBooks in this forum not all of us use iMovie. There's an iMovie Support Community where everybody uses iMovie. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer. https://discussions.apple.com/community/ilife/imovie

  • Is the FX5200-T128 video card compatible with an Athlon 64 CPU and a K8N mobo?

I am building a new computer based on the Athlon 64 3000 processor and the mobo MSI K8N Neo-FSR.
I intended to use MSI MS-8907 GeForce FX5200-T128 as the video card.
However I have been told that this video card might not be compatible either with the Athlon 64 processors or with the mobo MSI K8N Neo-FSR.
    Is it compatible or not?
If it's not compatible, what is the cheapest MSI video card compatible with the Athlon 64 and the K8N?
Thank you in advance for your help.

If it's there, it means they at least inserted the card, booted, and installed drivers, as far as what they do from that point is anyones guess. You will see the far right column shows 4x or 8x.
I agree, it is minimal info at best and not my idea of what should be included in a test report.
I don't see any reason why that card would not work, the market is saturated with that type of card.

  • Video cameras compatibles with iMovie6 or FCP 5 ???

Please: which is the link which gives the list of the video cameras
    compatible with iMovie6 and CPF 5 ???
    thank you for the answer.

Apple's original compatible camcorders page was never kept properly up-to-date, as Apple just couldn't test every single camcorder which was produced.
So now Apple just refers people to the camcorder makers' own pages ..in that link (above) posted by Kirk.

  • Sonic Impact Video 55 for Ipod

I bought this Sonic Impact Video 55 player for my dad for Father's Day for his Ipod (80GB) and he is having trouble seeing the videos on the screen. The sound is great he says, but he can't see the video. He did everything according to the manual, but he's still having problems.
Any suggestions on what to do?

    Try this.
On your iPod go to "Videos / Video Settings".
Then select "TV Out" and either set it to "off" or "ask".
Also, make sure you are accessing the video through the videos menu. If you have a video mixed in an audio playlist and you access it through that, you also won't be able to see the video.
