SONIC Queues

Generally when we are working with JMS Queues, We write
Java code for JMS Producers and JMS Consumers or MDB s which
will capture the responses from JMS Queues when we send
Asynchrous messages as requets to JMS Queues.
Then what exactly are these SONIC Queues. Are they any
PLugins? When do we use them? Will they work with
WebLogic or WebSphere Application server?
Do we need to Use SONIC / TIBCO Queues inorder to send
messages thru JMS Queues.
Can any one of you clarify my doubts?
Thanks

JMS is the specification, so you must use its implementations to get the functionality of the JMS. i recom. u to use OpenJMS. either create ur own queue in OpenJMS or used already defined queues in it. the following code may help u .
system overview..
I have two classes namely
MessageSender and MessageReceiver
I had tested both class by passing the bean to the queue, and then calling the listeners onMessage method and cast it to acual object and pass it to dao object to save it to the database.
if (message instanceof ObjectMessage)
try
ObjectMessage m = (ObjectMessage) message;
MessagePacket packet = (MessagePacket) m.getObject() ;
MessageBean mainMessage = packet.getMessage();
PostDetails postDetails = packet.getPostDetails();
I tested it by writing a test class as follows:
public static void main (String [] args){
MessageBean messageObject = new MessageBean();
PostDetails postDetails = new PostDetails();
//setting the attributes..
MessagePacket packet = new MessagePacket();
packet.setMessage(messageObject);
packet.setPostDetails(postDetails);
MessageSender sender = new MessageSender();
sender.setUpQueue();
sender.sendMessage(messageObject);
System.out.println("Message send");
MessageReceiver receiver = new MessageReceiver();
receiver.setUpQueue();
receiver.receiveMessage();
// System.out.println("Message received " + hold );
All the above code works perfectly fine

    Rambarki,
    What is the error displayed on the Adapter Monitoring pages?
    Generally the correct error descriptions for connectivity issues are found on adapter monitoring UI than any other.
    Other possible reasons could be :
    <i>JMS Service is not started
    The following hosts could not be reached 143:223:221:10:50310</i> This might be issue with your network settings i.e. XI server is unable to reach the specified IP on specified port.

  • PI / XI and JMS Compliance

    Is PI/XI JMS compliant? Can one replace Sonic JMS provider functionality with PI ?

    Michael,
    Thanks for your response.  Can you please advise me on the scenario below?
    In our IT organization we have both XI/PI and Sonic-Weblogic implementations.
    Sonic- Weblogic:
    We have deployed 20+ enterprise archive (EAR) files in Weblogic.  Weblogic is configured to use Sonic.  In each EAR file, as you can imagine we have message driven beans that intercept the messages published to Sonic Queues and topics.  We have over 100 topics and queues in Sonic and Weblogic.
    We would like to consolidate to one Integration system, namely PI.
    Is it possible or advisable to move these message bus functionality into PI?  Is there an Industry standard that we can follow and adhere to?

  • Testing ODI connectivity with Sonic MQ JMS Queue server

    Hi
    We are trying to integrate our ODI to sonic MQ.
    Since I am a newbie , could you please guide me in creating a data server and connecting it through physical agent?
    Below are the steps I did.
    1. I have copied the below jar files in ../driver directory and bounce the agent.
    mfcontext.jar sonic_Client.jar sonic_ASPI.jar sonic_XA.jar sonic_Selector.jar sonic_Crypto.jar jndi.jar
    3. tesed the connectivity to the JNDI URL and port using 'telnet myserver 7530'
    3. created a new JMS Queue Server with below setting.
    JNDI Authentification: Simple
    JNDI User :Administrator
    Password :
    JNDI Protocol : <undefined>
    JNDI Driver: com.sonicsw.jndi.mfcontext.MFContextFactory
    JNDI URL: tcp://myserver:7530
    JNDI Resource: ODI_QUEUE.Entry
    4. apply the changes
    When I tried to test it I got the below messages.
    java.lang.Exception:
         at com.sunopsis.graphical.l.pm.a(pm.java)
         at com.sunopsis.graphical.l.pm.s(pm.java)

    I think that you should update the Odiparams.bat in order to add the JMS driver files which are not in the path of the agent.
    Stop your agent.
    in the odiparams update one of the line
    "set ODI_CLASSPATH" with the new files
    and then restart your agent.

  • JMS queue name

    Hi All:
    I am using JMS adapter as a sender, with QoS = EOIO and Queueid=test_queue.
    Just by giving name in the queueid filed does queue will be created? Also how can I test this
    so I can come to know messages are delivering in EOIO?(JMS client is not asking me for QoS and queueid)
    Is there anything required for queue?
    Thanks & Regards
    Farooq.

    >> Just by giving name in the queueid filed does queue will be created
    No.
    Which JMS provider you are trying to use? If the built in JMS provider of SAP Web AS is being used, you can try using the predefined queues.
    if MQ / sonic MQ etc then you need to find out from the MQ config.

  • SONIC MQ - Message Driven Bean with CMT

    Hi guys,
    I am having hard time with MDB having container managed transaction with TX attribute required. I am using RAD 6.0.1 and the JMS provider is Sonic MQ.I have defined XAConnectionFactory on Sonic side. The MDB runs without any error, but when I shut down the app server the message appears back in the queue. When I use transaction attribute as NOT SUPPORTED everything runs as normal.
    Am I missing something on the configuration here?
    I am seeing the XA implementation classes in the sonic jar file, but do I need their resource adaptor from sonic?
    Thanks

  • Problem in configuring my driver for JMS Queues

    Hello,
    I'm working in connecting ODI to Sonic ESB.
    I have added all the drivers needed to ODI/Drivers and I continue to have an error.
    After searching in our ESB Doc i finally found why.
    I have to change a property of my Driver.
    I have tryied to change it in the Property Tab of the JMS Queue Data Server.
    with Key= "My Property Name" and Value= "the new Value needed"
    But there's no change, where can I do this ???
    Thanks for your answer,
    Cordially,
    BM

    In fact I have to change the domain in which I will be connected.
    On Sonic ESB by default it is nammed Domain1 and I want to change this name to SonicTestDomain.
    In java I just have to put :
    prop.put("com.sonicsw.jndi.mfcontext.domain", "SonicTestDomain");
    but in my Topology I'm using the Property Tab and in the first column nammed Key I put
    com.sonicsw.jndi.mfcontext.domain and on the other nammed Value I put SonicTestDomain.
    But when I put Test it always responding me :
    javax.naming.NamingException [Root exception is com.sonicsw.mf.comm.InvokeTimeoutException: Domain1.DIRECTORY SERVICE:ID=DIRECTORY SERVICE - listDirectories()]
    --> with Domain1 so the ghange of the property didn't do nothing.

  • FTP access to a JMS queue

    Hi Gang
    Just wondering if I can access a JMS message queue using FTP client.
    I havent found anything related to FTP and JMS on the forums, also java FTP client is not an option as far as I know
    Thanks for your time
    javajoe

    Joe,
    this is something that some of the vendors offer as an optional add-on to their JMS messaging product. For example, Sonic offer it as one of their bridges.
    FTP bridges will allow a message to be finally delivered by ftp to a configured location. They also poll for incoming files being put into a specified directory via ftp and will then put the contents onto the messaging bus.

  • Queues and event structure

    Hi,
    I'm having some troubles with a program that I'm doing.
    I think the big problem are in the queues and the structure event. I don't know why, but the elements in the queue only increase. And I think, because of that, some things that should happen, don't happen. For example, when I press the button "Impact" an square wave should appear, and it didn't appear.
    Thanks for all your help,

    Hi,
    Of course I read your post, but like I said, I don't understand why, when I press the "Impulse" button, I have the start in the queue. I shouldn't have the previous used enum, because of the shift register?
    You are right, the things are slow down because of the re-enqueues and the many Acquire state I have in the queue. But how can I fix that?
    Thanks,
    Sílvia
    Yes the previous enum will be there because of the shift register.  But look at what is happening in your Acquire loop.  You are enqueueing on every loop iteration.  So your action is like this:
    Press Start - enqueue Initialize and Acquire
    Initilaize state runs
    Acquire state runs - Acquire is queued up again.  Because you have no wait state,  this loop runs super fast and you keep dequeueing acquire and queueing acquire again.  The wait state is imperative to allow the CPU time to process some other loops.  This is not done automatically, you have to allow it by adding waits to loops.
    Now you happen to press impact and somehow the CPU finds time to process the event.  What state gets queued?  Acquire again.  Now you have two acquires queued because the last Acquire state also queued an acquire.  Every button you press will enque something on top of what is already there and your dequeue will never be able to keep up.
    The solution is to not enqueue anything in the bottom loop.  Never do this.  If you want to acquire when no event is happeing, queue up the acquire in the Timeout event.

    That is, I want to have a queue as follows from the above queue.
    [123]

    How will the loop behave then?
    What will be passed to my input queue "a" and "b" when execute "all values on context" is set.
    "a" has a context and "b" doent have one.
    My UDF

    I think I may have been asking a wrong question.

                 this.r = (Thread)queueOfM.poll();
                 this.r.start();
              }The if in the processq method will come true when I is 11. so, once in the if, the for loop is executed. The j is checked till it is < 11 and then the value of j is being printed. So, as I was expecting J should print till atleast 10. However it is printing till 5 and quitting the loop, I dont know how or why, for which I was thinking if someone could show me why.

  • Performance and W/R-Queue problems

    I'm new to NICAN programming and I'm in trouble with some weird behaviour:
    To measure bus-load with "KVASER Navigator" i wrote a simple program that sends very quickly a great number of frames.
    The first thing i noticed is the poor performance, reaching only about 70% of bus-load at 100K and at full processor load.
    And the second, (n := number of sent frames) only
    n-WRITE_QUEUE_LENGTH frames are send, the rest still is in the queue until a Queue-Overflow happens and the remaining 10 frames are sent, but at least 1 frame (which causes the Queue-Overflow still remains in the queue).

  • Note: Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will attempt to resume at a later time

    Dear all,
    sorry for opening another thread on this.
    I think I have a performance issue with workflows attached to document sets in SharePoint. And I say “I think” because people keep telling me that this is the way it just is.
    The user creates a new document set, which triggers a workflow in which the user has to confirm/review/approve a series of tasks. The time it takes from clicking the OK button on those task form to the workflow status moving to the next step is about 4 seconds.
    And visiting that status page within those 4 seconds brings up the infamous “Note: Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will attempt to resume at a later time.” message.
    Hitting Refresh in the browser after those 4 seconds will make the new workflow status appear and the red text go away.
    Is that normal? Is that the performance that everyone else is seeing as well?
    I struggle to see why simply moving a workflow from one task to another should take that on a machine that isn’t doing anything else at the time.
    (1)
    I have a standalone (non-clustered) SharePoint box, 4 CPUs, 8 GB of memory, more than half of that available, acting as application server and wfe; only the database is on different box.
    (2)
    The CPU only goes up to 18 or 19%, so CPU does not seem to be the bottleneck. Half the RAM is also still free.
    (3)
    The workflow is designed with Nintex, and has about 9 flexi and review tasks – the last 2 of them in a loop iterating over typically 3 or 4 items.
    (4)
    Looking at the logs it looks like the processing in Nintex only takes about 1 second – I don’t know where the other 3 seconds are going.
    (5)
    There is nothing obvious in the logs.
    (6)
    We’ve looked at all the “theoretical” improvements around throttling and batch sizes etc. – none of them appeared make any difference. And the workflow is so small that it looks like my tasks gets executed straight away. The problem appears
    to be that the execution takes too long(?) and therefore has not finished by the time the page get redrawn.
    (7)
    I am running perfmon and I can e.g. see one(!) workflow being loaded into memory – as expected as I am the only user.
    (8)
    I am seeing a total of 3(?) SQL queries being executed(?). I get the Bytes Sent/sec spiking at 25K, and Bytes received at 18K. But is this good or bad or a bottleneck?
    Where do I take it from here?
    I have been told that “[…] most customers have no issue with this as they are used to the way SP operates and it can be slow at times.” Is it really that bad?
    If it is worth watching more performance counters then I’d need to know what to compare them to.
    Is there something else I am missing?
    Thanks
    Martin

    Hi,
    Before considering an additional hardware try to change following configurations for workflow:
    Increase Throttle Size
    Increase Batch Size
    Time Out
    Workflow Timer Interval
    AutoCleanUpDays
    Increase Throttle Size
    The Workflow throttle setting controls how many Workflows can be processing at any one time on the entire server farm. By increasing the throttle it will allow the number of Workflows execution or can be initiated at a time.
    Use below PowerShell command to get the current Throttle Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig | Select WorkflowPostponeThreshold
    Use below PowerShell command to set new Throttle Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowPostponeThreshold 100
    Increase Batch Size
    This is the size that determines number of events processed for a single Workflow instance. Default value is 100, but it can be range from 1 to any number.
    Use below PowerShell command to get the current Batch Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig | Select WorkflowBatchSize
    Use below PowerShell command to set new Batch Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowBatchSize 200
    Time Out
    This decides the time out of the Workflow event. The default value is 5 and can be any integer. The time is in minute.
    Use below STSADM command to get the current Time Out value:
    stsadm -o getproperty -pn workflow-eventdelivery-timeout
    Use below STSADM command to get the current Time Out value:
    stsadm -o setproperty -pn workflow-eventdelivery-timeout -pv “15″
    Workflow Timer Interval
    This setting is applicable at Web Application level and not the farm level. The workflow timer interval specifies how often the workflow SPTimer job fires to process pending workflow tasks. This interval also represents the granularity of delay timers within
    your workflow. If a timer is set to delay for one minute, but the interval timer fires only every five minutes, the workflow delays for five minutes, not one minute.
    Use below STSADM command to get the current Workflow Timer Interval value:
    stsadm -o getproperty -pn job-workflow -url <Web Application Url>
    Use below STSADM command to get the current Workflow Timer Interval value:
    stsadm -o setproperty -pn job-workflow -pv “Every 10 minutes between 0 and 30″ -url <Web Application Url>

  • Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will attempt to resume at a later time.

    I have SharePoint 2010 Enterprise running SP1. Configuration is one SharePoint server in the farm and a SQL 2008 R2 database for the backend. Our user environment is 80 users with very little load on the SharePoint server. I have the workflow timer
    set to 1 minute.
    I have a SPD workflow that starts manually on a form library. Whenever I publish a new version of the workflow, the next time I start the workflow it takes the full minute to finish. If I click on the workflow status before it finishes, I see the message
    "Due to heavy load, the latest workflow operation has been queued. It will
    attempt to resume at a later time.". After the minute completes the workflow finishes.
    Here's the weird thing, the next time I start the workflow, it runs in a couple of seconds - almost instantly. I've tried up to 15 times after the inital publishing and everything seems to work fine on initiation.
    Well, that would be fine for me, however, I intermintantly get this heavy load message during task processes that are running inside the workflow. It's probably less than 5% of the time. It's really frustrating though so I appreciate some help. I'm look
    online and haven't found anything that describes my situation.
    Thank you in advance!

    Use below PowerShell command to get the current Batch Size:
    Get-SPFarmConfig |
    Select WorkflowBatchSize
    Use below PowerShell command to set new Batch Size:
    Set-SPFarmConfig -WorkflowBatchSize
    200
    Time Out
    This decides the time out of the Workflow event.

  • How to Get One MQ Message at a time from MQ Queue

    Hi,
    Before posting my query here is the configuration I am using:_
    Weblogic Server 10.3.3
    Soa Server 11.1.1.3.0
    Oracle JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0
    Till now I have done the following things:_
    1) created an MQ Queue
    2) Producing MQ Messages in the Queue with the help of an Asynchronous BPEL process.
    I can see the message put in the Queue:
    What is my requirement?_
    1) I want to read (Get) only one of the above created MQ Messages in the main BPEL process(Synchronous), then needs to process it
    And based on my Business condition I have to write that message in the Database.
    After successful completion of this instance only my main process should go to consume the next message in the MQ queue.
    What is the problem I am facing?_
    1) The main BPEL process is not reading one message at a time. I.e. if there are 10 messages in the queue, then as soon as the main bpel process gets deployed, 10 instances created automatically, all in running status and Queue gets empty
    2) And if I explicitly test the process, the processes always go in running mode. I.e. Waiting for the messages at the receive activity (this receive is attached to the MQ adapter through operation Get in the main BPEl process)
    I just want to know how I can read the MQ messages one by one, though there may be n number of messages in the MQ queue
    And only after the completion of the first instance (of Reading First MQ message from queue) it would go to initiate the next instance and so on
    Would anyone please help me in this issue?
    Thanks
    Sunil

    Is the MQ Queue local or remote?
