Sonicwall TZ 215 Log Monitor Ip address display

I have finally worked through some issues with opening ports on this device. Now after installing the latest firmware SonicOS Enhanced 5.9.1.1-39o, the log does not show the ip address in a user friendly format. I have played around with all the new settings options but no matter what I choose the ip address looks like gibirish. Please check out the screen shot to see what I am referring to. Let me know if you have a quick work around or if there is some sort of logging setting in one of my rules that may cause this?

Why are you trying to install 11gR1 into a 10g HOME ? You will run into issues as long as you do not follow install instructions at http://docs.oracle.com

  • Cannot open ports on Sonicwall TZ 215

    Use the wizard for a public facing server. It will create the address objects and ports you specify as well as the associated rules.

    I have been battling with a new sonicwall tz 215 for 3 days now trying to simply get a port open to allow web traffic through. I have tried every tutorial, watched every youtube video, used the wizards all to no avail. I am switching out a cisco rv042 for this device. It is currently configured and works so I know that the internal machine and the ISP are allowing the proper actions to occur. When I look at the log it says Web Request Dropped. I have also used various port checkers and no matter what I can't get a single port to show open.I have restored the Sonicwall back to factory multiple times and started the process over from scratch just to make sure I don't have any rules or whatever that would prevent ports from being opened. Has anyone battled with a sonicwall device before and possibly have any other tips / suggestions? Is...

  • Monitor using wrong display profile--how do I change it?

    I recently bought two new monitors (same model) and have them connected to my Mac Pro--one with DVI and the other through a KVM switch using a VGA-DVI adapter. The problem is that the second one (connected through the KVM) displays in the wrong resolution. When I open the Displays preferences, it looks like it's using a profile from my previous monitor and the Display tab shows the wrong list of resolutions.
    Is there a way to delete this old profile, or at least get the resolution list to display more options? The second monitor works fine when I connect it directly via DVI, but I'd like to keep using it with my old KVM switch if possible. (DVI KVM switches are too expensive!)

    What happens if you click "detect displays"?
    There is a display .plist which you can drag to the desktop and then log out and back in to reset.
    It's
    com.apple.preference.displays.001b63933178.plist
    except that the number will be different.
    It's in your local library/preferences directory.

  • Need help in creating a 'Generic txt log' monitor

    Hi
    We require some help in creating a 'Generic txt log' monitor.
    In a txt-log a system is writing log-entries of a job.
    When the job is running successfully, the entries is like this:
    First line: CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution
    Second line: CRM VISMA Import - Job execution finished
    When the job is NOT running successfully, the entries are like:
    First line: CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution
    Second line <this could be anything>
    So, how to we create a monitor that trigger an alert if
    First line = "CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution"
    and second line is NOT "CRM VISMA Import - Job execution finished"
    And closing the alert if the entries are once again gets:
    First line: CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution
    Second line: CRM VISMA Import - Job execution finished
    Thanks in advance
    /Peter

    You may consider using script monitor, below is the coding of script section:
    Assumption: the file is stored in c:\temp\AppLog.txx. You should modify the file path for your own situation
    Dim oAPI, oBag
    dim strComputer, objWMIService, PerfProcess,Perf, PerfPro
    Dim PerfMems,PerfMem,Mem
    Set oAPI=CreateObect("MOM.ScriptAPI")
    Set oBag=oAPI.CreatePropertyBag()
    Set objFileToRead = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject").OpenTextFile("C:\temp\AppLog.txt",1)
    Dim strLine,PreLine
    Dim jobFail
    JobFail=false
    do while not objFileToRead.AtEndOfStream
     strLine = objFileToRead.ReadLine()
     if PreLine<>"" then
                if strLine<>"CRM VISMA Import - Job execution finished" then
                   JobFail=true
                else
                   JobFail=false
                end if
                PreLine=""
             end if
     if strLine="CRM VISMA Import - Start of job execution" then
        PreLine=strLine
     end if
    loop
    objFileToRead.Close
    Set objFileToRead = Nothing
    If JobFail then
     Call oBag.AddValue("JobFail", "Yes")
    else
     Call oBag.AddValue("JobFail", "NO")
    end if
    Call OAPI.Reten(oBag)

  • Help please. Extended display won't work on MBP and AOC 20" 1600 x 900  60HZ monitor. Mirror display does. I've a mini dvd to vga converter cable. Should this work?

    Help please. Extended display won't work on MBP and AOC 20" 1600 x 900  60HZ monitor. Mirror display does. I've a mini dvd to vga converter cable. Should this work?

    I have the same mini display port adapter and Belkin DVI-HDMI cable (but a Panasonic 42" Plasma HDTV) so just set this up on it to see if I could duplicate your problem, unfortunately for you (but good for me) I can't.
    I connected the adapter+HDMI cable before switching the HDTV on and then powered up the MBP. It (the HDTV) came up with my background right away (it's set at Mirror not extended Desktop) and when I run System Preferences/Displays get the following. Sorry but all I can confirm is that adapter+cable combination should work ...
    Try doing a Parameter RAM reset - hold down command/option/p/r keys at start up and wait for three chimes before releasing the keys?

  • About monitors and LCD displays

    I want give you some directrices about the display sub system.
    Like you all know there are CRT monitors and LCD displays.
    CRT
    CRT monitors are based upon electron beams hitting Electroluminescent phosphorus. In these monitors the most important parameters are:
    1) Dot pitch
    2) Refresh rate
    Dot pitch is the size of a single phosphorus point, smaller is better. Typical values range between 0.24 and 0.25. Beware with monitors having a not constant dot pitch, there are monitors with dot pitch of 0.24 at center of screen and 0.25 at the borders. I recommend monitors with constant dot pitch size across all screen.
    Refresh rate is the number of times a single electron beam travels across the screen drawing a single frame (from left to right and top to bottom) each second. It is measured in Herz (Hz). Bigger is better. Typical values range between 60 Hz and 120 Hz and the value depends upon resolution, more resolution goes to less possible refresh rate. If you are going to play games with shutter glasses, make sure your monitor is capable of 120 Hz minimun at the playing resolution. In 3D Stereo, each full 3D frame must be drawn 60 times/second (60 Hz) but a 3D frame is a single right eye frame and a single left eye frame, 60 Hz for left frame and 60 Hz for right frame are the full 120 Hz. If you CRT is not capable of these 120 Hz your eyes will suffer fatigue / strain and you would have a great headache after prolonged time periods.
    LCD
    A LCD display do not uses a electron beam to excite phosphorus and generate colored points, instead this it uses a grille and a special lamp. Instead drawing a frame line at line from top to bottom and left to right, it renders the frame in a step only and continuously, these displays are flat for this, there is no necesity for high voltage and magnetic fileds to move the electron beam. In these displays these are the more important parameters:
    1) Dot pitch
    2) Response time
    3) Number of colors (color space)
    Dot pitch is the same as with CRTs
    Reponse time is the time it gets going from pure white to pure black. Less is better. It is measured in miliseconds. Good typical values range about 16 ms. If you are going to use the LCD to play games, response time is the more important parameter at all.
    Number of colors are the simultaneus colors in screen. It have a inverse relationship with response time. It is measured in million of colors or bits. 24 bits of color depth are 16.7 million of colors. Typical values range agout 16 / 16.7 millions. Greater is better. LCDs with 16 ms response time have, usually, 16.5 millions of colors.
    Somethimes, the manufacturer will provide you drivers (setup or inf files) for your operating system. I recomend install this drivers. Don't panic if there are no drivers for your display device, Windows, probably, will find the suitable driver for your brand and model.
    If you have a CRT and you are stuck at 60~85 Hz you will need the right driver because Windows would not have found a suitable driver from its drivers base and it chose a standard monitor driver.
    If you have a LCD and you are stuck at 60 Hz, all is fine, as i have told you yet, LCD displays paint the screen continuously, you will not appreciate any flicker at 60 Hz in these devices. You can check this if you have a digital camera, make a photo of a CRT with a shutter of <monitor refresh rate> * 1.5. You will see a partially drawn picture. If you take a photo of a LCD with the same shutter rules you will get a full picture. With LCD you will get full pictures always, independently of the shutter.
    I hope al this info will be helpful to you.

    I have found a very interesting link on the Anandtech Web site about LCDs, it is a old one but i think it will be useful.
    The link is this

  • Use imac monitor for laptop display?

    Just curious, I've got a new mac book pro but the screen size just isn't sufficient for some applications. My 24" imac works great for it, but since this is my work laptop I'm not supposed to put these files on my home computer (not to mention the programs). So, I want to know if there is any way to use my imac monitor as a display for my laptop.
    I know there isn't just a DVI in port on the imac, but there's got to be a way to do this... If it were a PC I'd say remote desktop.

    christie.cone, Welcome to the discussion area!
    Not directly the iMac does NOT have a video input.
    However, you might want to take a look at ScreenRecycler.

  • Gnome-Shell logs in as Gnome Display Manager

    Hello,
    My gnome-shell decided to crap out on me after working perfectly for the past few days. It wouldn't boot into the session even with extensions off. I tried everything(removing old configuration files, setting an autostart on Gnome-shell in ~/.config/autostart. Now my Gnome-shell starts but it logs in as Gnome Display Manager. Terminals do not start up(they come up and dissapear). I can't log in to XFCE anymore as a fallback because GDM autostarts into itself. I tried switching display managers to slim but it errors starting in there also.
    This behavior happened after a symlinked a file but I'm not sure which. The page I was browsing it on was on my other user.
    Thanks, I am really bummed that I can't even get into my XFCE session right now and this GDM as user is nearly unuseable.

    #3 is the post I followed, will try to remove the sym link and see what happens.

    Looks like removing the sym link did it, but now my previews are screwed up.

  • How can I make an external monitor the main display?

    I have a mid 2007 iMac running OS X 10.4. The internal monitor is broken and all it shows is a bunch of lines.
    I have connected an external Samsung monitor. All I see in it is a desktop background: no icons, no menus, no dock. I believe this is because the display is in extended mode and the main display is the internal monitor. I cannot use the System Preferences Panel to change this, because the internal monitor is useless.
    I have a second, newer iMac, from which I can login to the first via ssh.
    Is there a way to make the external monitor the main display from the command line?
    (I have though of editing the Preferences List, but I do not know what to change and how to change it. I do have Developers Tool installed and thus can access the Preferences List Editor.)
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi everybody!
    To solve the problem I wrote a script that creates a Systems Preferences windows which shows up in the external monitor. Once this happens the configuration can be changed manually, to make the external monitor the main display. This is what I did:
    First I created a user with automatic login in the faulty machine. To do this:
    1.- Restarted this malfunctioning iMac in Firewire Target mode.
    2.- Rebooted the working iMac using the other machine as startup disk.
    3.- Created the user.
    4.- Restarted both machines normally
    Next I wrote a script which opens System Preferences and shifts its window to the left:
    5.- In the working machine I saved the script as a 'Run only' application:
    tell application "System Preferences"
    activate
    set x0 to 1080
    set y0 to 200
    set dx to 800
    set wx to 600
    set wy to 600
    set the bounds of the first window to {x0, y0, x0 + dx + wx, y0 + wy}
    end tell
    6.- Then uploaded it to the iMac with the faulty screen.
    7- Shut down both machines.
    Then I added the script application to the automatic login user in the faulty machine:
    8.- Restarted the malfunctioning iMac in Firewire Target mode.
    9.- Rebooted the working iMac using the other machine as startup disk.
    10.- In System Preferences added the script to login items.
    11.- Restarted both machines.
    The System Preferences window now showed in the external terminal. I was able to go into the Displays pane and set the external monitor as the main display (dragging the white bar to it).
    Cheers,
    Gustavo J. Mata

  • Alert log monitoring problem

    Hi guys!
    I have found good simple script for alert log monitoring BUT it doesnt shows date and time. How to format it so that i could see date and time as well in log output?
    +#!/bin/sh+
    +#GLOBS+
    ALERT="ORA-";
    LOGFILE=/path/to/my/alert_X.log
    MYFILE=/home/user/test.log
    +##+
    +#get the errors out of the logfile.+
    grep -h "$ALERT" $LOGFILE >> $MYFILE
    +#count number of lines in myfile, and print.+
    +VAR=`wc -l $MYFILE | awk -F" " '{print $1}'`+
    +#echo $VAR+
    +# if the amount of lines is greater than 0, then cat the file and send it to me. if not then echo all clear.+
    +#size variable is the number of errors the last time the script ran+
    +size=`wc -l test.last | awk -F" " '{print $1}'`+
    echo $size
    +# if the amount of lines is greater than 0, then cat the file and send it to me. if not then echo all clear+
    +if [[ $VAR -gt $size ]] ; then+
    cat $MYFILE | mail -vs "oralert" [email protected] ;
    else
    echo "All clear.."
    fi;
    rm test.last
    mv test.log test.last
    touch test.log

    The alert_log is know to first put the date of the message into it, and then on the next line the ORA- error message.
    So in the case you would find an ORA-error here, then what is the problem into going into the file and start looking at what time it occured.
    Otherwise you would have to modify the script in such way that it will get more info than a 'grep' at the moment it finds the error, like using "grep -l" option, that simply matches the lines.
    Then a while loop in the script could "walk" trough these lines and get the surrounding lines around that line number from the alert_log.
    But, again, if an error pops up, you do want to go into the alert-file, looking up all given info e.g. about the object(s) involved, the users, if a tracefile was generated...etc,etc,.

  • Welogic 9.2 jdbc connection pool monitoring section not displaying server

    Welogic 9.2 managed jdbc connection pool monitoring section not displaying server name. Can you please let me know how can i achive this

    Hi,
    It happens if the Connectivity is Lost b/w DataBase & WLS Server...In that case in the WLS AdminConsole---DataSource---Monitoring Tab you wont see even the Testing Page with valid datasource to test it.
    So please make sure that the N/W connectivity proper....One more thing you can try:
    <h3><font color=red>Test-1</font></h3>
    You can use *“weblogic.Admin”* utility to Enable and Disable the Pool (DataSource) Just to Confirm whether the dataSource is actually active or not::
    Step1). run *"setWLSEnv.sh"* first in the same Shell prompt....then do the following:
    Step2). To suspend:
    java weblogic.Admin -url t3://localhost:7001 -username weblogic -password weblogic SUSPEND_POOL YourDataSourceName
    Step3). To re-enable:
    java weblogic.Admin -url t3://localhost:7001 -username weblogic -password weblogic RESUME_POOL YourDataSourceName
    To test whether you are getting any Exception or Error while doing this....If yes u are getting any Error or exception then It means there May be some Database connectivity issue...
    <h3><font color=red>Test-2</font></h3>
    Please use the following Utility to Test the Database connectivity from your WLS Server box:
    <font color=maroon>
    java -classpath /opt/app/bea/weblogic92mp2/weblogic92/server/lib/weblogic.jar -Dbea.home=/opt/app/bea/weblogic92mp2   utils.dbping ORACLE_THIN DbUserName DBPassword somethingDbUrl.Something.net:1521:dbInstance
    </font>
    Syntax:
    java   -classpath /opt/app/bea/weblogic92mp2/weblogic92/server/lib/weblogic.jar   -Dbea.home=/opt/app/bea/weblogic92mp2   utils.dbping   ORACLE_THIN   <DBUserName>   <DBPassword>   <DBURL>
    The above utilty will test the DB Connectivity ...you need to run it from your WLS server Box...
