Sony 46" LCD Vert. Red Line on screen

I have a Sony 46" HDTV and have a Verticle Red Line from the top
of the screen to the Bottom.. Can this be fixed with an adjustment.
Can it be repaired. TV is 2 1/2 years old. Out of warranty.

If it happens on all content and all sources (sat/cable/blu-ray/game/dvd/etc) it is likely a damaged transistor not allowing the red to shut off. Yes its repairable but at what cost I don't know you would have to get a estimate for that. Although I should add no matter what the actual cause is if its there all the time it will need to be serviced by a authorized repair technician.

Possibly a bad connection at the LCD.
It sounds to me like the electrical connection feeding one column of the LCD has broken. Put a Post-it note on the screen with the sticky edge right along the red line. If the line doesn't move when you change screen resolutions then it's even more likely to be a column drive wire. If you connect an external display and you still see the problem then it's NOT the connections in the LCD. It may be possible, but fairly tricky, to re-solder the physical connection. You'd have to disassemble the screen quite a bit to get access to the connections. The wires are also very close together so it will be hard to re-heat one without accidentally connecting to the next. The safest solution is to live with the problem.

A single red line on screen

I started up my Macbook today and a single red line appeared on my screen. I tried resetting the LCD (Control, Shift, Eject), but that did nothing. The Macbook was purchased in 2008, so I am out of my extended warranty.
What do I do? Please advise kindly.

this can be caused by:
bad bios (even though they never mentioned it was a dell)
monitor going bad
graphics card chip is going bad
connection between the monitor and your motherboard is bad (bad cable, lose cable)
your eyes going bad (haha jk jk)
u can play around with the setting and end up frustration, or you can bring it in to geek squad and have them take a look at it.
if you bought the computer from best buy and bought the protection service plan/geek squad black tie protection plan, they will be able to take a look at it and hopefully it will be covered (depends on what's causing it)
if you bought the computer from best buy and did not buy the protection plan, or u didn't buy the computer from best buy at all, they will charge you $69 for a diagnostic fee, and they will tell you an estimate on how much it will cost for you to fix.

Red line on screen

How can I fix my ipod touch 4g if there is a red line in the middle of my screen and occasionally it flickers to a white line across the entire screen and makes my screen blink? It goes away sometimes if I leave my ipod alone for a while but then it comes back quickly.

Try:

Red line down screen

My monitor has a red line down the middle of the screen. Does anyone know why this is happening? Sometimes, depending on the background color, the line is green (on lighter backgrounds), otherwise it is red.

I have the EXACT same problem and also bought my iMac in Dec 2011. Thankfully I have AppleCare. I called support; had to back up the machine and take it in to an Apple Store for a new monitor and a new video card. They didn't seem to be all THAT horrified at the problem so perhaps it was a bad batch of monitors in that run of manufacturing.
Anyway, I'm using my MacBook for now and they expect the iMac to be fixed ready in 3-5 days.

It is helpful when we know which PB G4 you have. However, your thin vertical red line may be failing backlight lamp. If that is the case you don't need to worry about it, unless you want it gone. If it is convenient make an appointment at the Genius Bar and have them take a look at no cost to you.

Red line across screen imac

i just bought a iMac 21,5" (2012) for 7 days.
and i found a red line across the iMac screen sometimes.
no problem found from the diagnostic mode.
any other method for me to check the problem?
or can i have a product return or refund, but not repair for this case?
i will be very disappointed, if there is any QC issue for apple product.

IPad red line across screen

I was just using my iPad normally when all of a sudden, a red line appeared across the screen one pixel wide. I tried to restart and reset. Is there some other solution?

If resetting didn't fix it, it appears you have a bad screen. You'll have to contact Apple by phone or at the Genius bar at an Apple store.
They may replace your iPad, even if it is out of warranty, though I strongly doubt that. Otherwise, you can purchase a refurbished one on exchange as long as there is no water damage:

SP6000: Red line on screen

Hi, one of my SP6000's has a thin vertical red line about a single pixel wide going from top to bottom in the centre, other wise the screen is perfectly ok. The machine works perfectly in all aspects apart this red line.
Anybody had a similar fault and if so, what was the cause of this?

the answer is quite simple: your TFT is defective. Some of the curcuits driving the panel is defective. To get it to work properly you need to replace the screen.
The cause for electrical components to fail is really hard to say - most of the times it just happens for no visible reason at all. Sometimes it comes from static, dust, shortcircuits.... a lot of different reasons.

Vertical red line on screen

My 15" Macbook Pro has just developed a thin red vertical line on the left side of the screen. What is this problem and how might I fix it?

I have the same problem. Called Apple and they said to do the equivalent of zapping the PR. Restart and hold down Command + Alt + P + R so the Mac chimes 2 or 3 times.
This worked for me initially but the line has returned (in a new position) and is no longer fixed by the above. Very annoying - will get on at Apple tomorrow.

Samsung 32" LCD Series 403 lines on screen

I was given a new tv recently. After hooking it up, vertical lines appeared on screen. They appear on every channel on the cable and on the AV source, but they don't appear on the HD. Unfortunately, we don't have an HD connection back there (I tested it with my XBox, but the only connection we have back there is cable, I'd never owned an HDTV until recently and had had no need to have an HD connection). Any reason why this would only happen on Cable and AV source and no other? I ran the self-diagnosis test and the lines were gone; could it be a problem with the input jacks?

Thes best I can tell you is that on my monitor and based on what some others have posted with their flat screens you should have the full range of resolutions available to you with VGA. The HDMI may or may not give you all of the same choices. (as on mine where the highest resolution is only available with overscan) When i first set up my system it automatically went to 1600x900. I do not recall if it was different when hooked up to VGA, it was too long ago.
There are a number of threads on here with different people using different size and model flat screens, with various successes and failures. Should you run into a problem when you do get to hook up the system (hopefully you won't!) it would be worth checking out those threads as well. Maybe even do a little reconnaissance and bookmark a few of the threads after doing a search so you don't have to do it last minute. I know, the threads are too numerous to count but sometimes a little advance research can go a long way when you are pressed for time.

So for a few weeks, i have been turning on my lap top and the places where black is supposed to be there is red, and it does not go away..sometimes it will go pink then turn red and will not leave....what do i do or what is wrong with my laptop??

Red Lines Across the screen?!

I did a search but didn't find anything similar to what I'm experiencing. I watch DVDs and movies on my iBook and noticed lately that the screen will have a reddish hue. I can adjust the screen and it will go away, but I've noticed it's happening more and more, and also getting harder to adjust the screen where the red lines are not showing up. I'm trying to figure out if it is a connection cable or the LCD. I can still get a clear picture with the LCD, but if I move it just a little, they come back.

Equium M40X: red lines running across the screen

I seem to be getting red lines running across my screen( from top to bottom) as i move my mouse.any idea whats wrong. ie is it the screen or something else.
i however connected it to a monitor and got the same problem so am presuming my screen fine.
maybe my graphic.and if so anybody with a solution or will i just have to dismantle it..

Does this happen as Windows boots up or during the desktop??
It sounds like you graphics processor is defected to be honest I would only expect this problem to occur with LCD screens but as you said it happens using the external monitor.
Try changing your display modes to see if this has made any difference.

Battety problems - blank screen wit battery sign with red line

I have the blackberry 8900 curve. Recently when I put my phone on charge it would turn my BB off and turn it self back on again. My battery was about 2% and I put it on charge and the phone turned off but when I looked at my phone the red light came on and then blank screen with a battery sign with a red line through it.
I got some advice to take out battery, sim card and memory card. Which I did and my BB turned back on. However my battery was still dead so I put it back on charge and it turned off and since then my BB hasn't turned back in. I've left it on charge and nothing.
Would really appreciate it if someone could help me out on this.
