Sony bdp s390 won't connect to network

I upgraded to ATT Uverse this week from dsl. Now i've lost my connection. I triple checked all the settings, all are correct, but can't connect. Sony says it's a network issue, it's not if i can connect with my pcs & cell phones. ATT says it's Sony's issue. Why will it connect with dsl but not uverse? Sony says it's compatable. None wants to assist, they blame each other.

No i have nvg 510 by motorola, i had a 2 wire previously. Went from dsl to uverse both by ATT, ATT did the install. Today my LG smart tv wasn't connected, i put in the ssid & connected. I have internet connection with Directv, again no issues at all. Same #'s for the player, did not change any settings anywhere on tv, modedm, pc, nowhere. Since the install all devices connected with no problem, just put in the ssid #. Again ATT blames sony, sony blames ATT. Chatted with both at same time today, both ask same questions, i gave both the answers from each other. This was both level 2 with both. I'm back to square one. I think i'll try another player, maybe with uverse it messed up a setting, but i did do a reset, twice, once each day. The more i think about it i think it's the player because everything else connects. How about you? Thanks for the advice. Tom

  • Sony Handycam HD won't connect

My new Sony DCR-SR42 won't connect to my
    iMac 5.1 with Intel 2GB 667mhz, 2GB RAM; OSX 10.49
Reading on the Sony site it says I "might" be able to connect via
    iLife 08. (I have iLife 06)
    The iLife 08 requires 733mhz.
Has anyone had success using the new handycam HD's with their Mac? I'd be hapy to just connect and download files as mpg...
Help Please! I'd do summersalts over any ideas!

If you have an Intel iMac, iLife 08 will work. I think the 667mhz you are referring to is the memory speed, not the processor speed. The memory speed is not relevant for whether your camera will work.
Your camera MIGHT work with iMovie 08. It is not on the supported list, but several Sony standard def hard drive cameras are supported.
Even if you can't make it work directly to iMovie 08, you can try attaching your camera to the Mac via the USB cable. If your Mac sees the camera as an external hard drive in the finder, then you have some more options.
You can move the MPEG2 files onto a folder on your Mac. From here, you need to convert them into a format supported by either iMovie 08 (h.264, dv, or aic) or to a format supported by iMovie 06 (which you have already) which is dv.
To convert them, you can use MPEG Streamclip (free), but you will also need to install the Quicktime MPEG2 Playback component ($20). Let MPEG Streamclip convert the files from MPEG2 to dv, and you should be able to edit them on your iMovie 6.

  • IPhone won't connect to networks after 3.0 software upgrade

    Hi,
It was always fine, but following the 3.0 software upgrade, it won't connect to networks. I've used the 'forgotten' function and inputted the details again - didn't work. I've also reset all network settings, then started from scratch. But I'm still getting the "unable to join networks" message.
My friends are all having this problem after the 3.0 upgrade too.
I'm in the UK, using a WPA2 connection. Nothing has changed about my network settings since upgrading the phone.
    Any help appreciated.

You said that all your friends were having the same problem, implying that it might be general to the UK. I thought, and still do, that it was worth pointing out that it isn't general to the UK. Sorry you feel aggrieved by that.
I mad a suggestion that might help. You haven't said whether you tried it or not. I assume you did and it didn't work. Sorry about that too.
Try a restore. If that doesn't work for you or any of your friends, take the phones back and get replacements.

  • [RESOLVED] MediaTomb - Sony BDP-S570 will not connect

I just installed and configured MediaTomb for use with my Sony BDP-S570 Blu-Ray player. However, the player won't connect to the media server. The connection diagnostics on the player claim that the firewall could be the problem, but I don't (as far as I know) have anything blocked internally.

  • [HP Photosmart D110a] Printer won't connect to network

    Printer: HP Photosmart D110a
    Operating system: Mac OSX 10.6.8
I'm living in a dorm room and trying to wirelessly connect my printer to my computer. I can't connect my printer to my university's network because it's protected. Instead I've been connecting to my printer's SSID network. I go into Settings --> Wireless --> Wireless Settings --> Wireless Setup Wizard --> the printer scans for routers, and then the SSID name comes up in a list underneath my university's closed network. It's called HPD110a.7809C6.
I connect to it, it says it's connected, but then the Wireless light keeps flashing blue. I go back to the Wireless tab and it shows that it's connecting, connecting, connecting... and then there's no connection.
My printer was working a little while ago. It's been tempermental and has occasionally worked. But since the last time my roommate used it and turned it off, it's refused to connect to that SSID network and has thus refused to work. I think I solved the connectivity issue I had before by connecting it to the SSID network, but now it won't connect.
Things I've tried to combat this issue:
Restarted the printer, both by turning it off and turning it on manually, as well as pulling the plug out of the back while it was on (I've read in my search for an answer for this problem that doing that can help some issues?) and unplugging it while it was off and then restarting it
Continuously tried to reconnect to the SSID network
Tried to enter the printer's IP in my internet browser's address bar; nothing came up, since it isn't connected
Turned off the wireless in the Wireless Settings menu, then turned it back on a half hour later, then waited to see if it'd reconnect
    Reset printer drivers
Updated my ePrint software and installed all availible HP product updates
I've printed out the Network Test multiple times, and each time it's said everything passes, but that I've had numerous disconnects and that the connection is low
I even moved a music player that was near my printer, thinking that maybe the metal was messing up the connection somehow (last resort)
Changed the empty ink cartridge (last resort)
I haven't tried restarting my computer, but I don't think that's what the problem is. My roommate's computer can't connect to the printer either (she's running OSX 10.8).
I have the printer in my Printer list twice in two seperate ways: One version is connected through the IP address, and the other is an option that appeared once while I was connected to the SSID network and just became a new printer. That one includes the scan option, but the first one doesn't. When I try to print something, the first printer says "Network host [IP ADDRESS] is busy.. will retry in 5/10/20/etc seconds..." and the second printer says "Printer offline."
The same thing happens with both whether I've gone into my Airport settings in the upper right and connected to the printer as a Device or not. It still shows my printer as a Device that I connect to, even though the printer itself says it's offline.
    Additional informatiom:
I don't have a USB cable for my printer, so I haven't tried that yet.
At one point during all the re-setting and restarting, I saw the printer's IP address appear in the Wireless menu as the connected network, but it still wouldn't print at that time.
That's all the information I can think of in relation to this issue; if anyone needs to know anything else, let me know. Hopefully it's enough, and hopefully someone will have the answer to my problem.
Sorry if anything is confusing or frantic; I've been dealing with this for a few days now, and I've searched all the help forums I could and looked through as many HP documents as possible, but nothing has changed the situation. This is basically my last hope.

After just switching from Cable to FIOS, I had to get my HP C4580 wireless printer back online too.
What was important was that the Printer settings knew about the IP and port changes that are impacted from the new network and router from Verizon.   How to do this is in your HP printer network setup manual and handled by their driver when its installed on the PC.
If all fails, try hooking up to your printer via an USB cable and start from there.  Make sure everything works wired before trying again from a wireless setup.  Youll end up with two printers in your Windows Printer choices, one for USB and one for Wireless, but thats no big deal.

  • PC won't connect to network share

I have a Windows 7 PC that won't connect to a network share.
    I can ping the server.
The PC has a static IP and is on the domain.
I've removed the PC and re-added it from the domain.
I've tried on a couple of different user accounts, but when either try to run to the server and share (start->run \\server\share) or use "Map Network Drive" it fails.
    Any advice ?

The PC has a static IP and is on the domain.
The DNS points to your local DNS server?
or open up this registry settings:
    HKLM->System->CurrentControlSet->Control->NetworkProvider->Order-> ProviderOrder
check the value of that string whether it contains this value: RDPNP,LanmanWorkstation
or compare the value of the registry with any machine on your system that is working fine.

  • Apple TV 2nd won't connect to Network -3902 Error

Can anyone help with this, got brought an Apple TV for Christmas and it won't connect to the router, it can find it, but when you put the password in, it just comes up saying:
There is a problem connecting to the internet.
Check your settings and try again (-3902)
Any help would be much appreciated

I had a bit more hassle after sending my first exultant message, as it wouldn’t connect again after power off the next day. There were a number of errors in my router config, including the wrong MAC address in my MAC filtering inclusion list (got corrupted, I think!), but couldn’t get it up even after fixing that. I then reset the Apple TV and started over, including re-entering the looong passphrase I have for my WAP2 security protocol. What a pain!
It did come back with some fantastic IP address that wasn’t even on the Internal Private Network lists (eg, 10.1.1.x, 192.168.xxx.xxx, etc), so I set the Apple TV to static mode and reset all the addresses and masks to 0. Still no luck.
Then I remembered watching my Modem stats screen and seeing that it didn’t have some of my connections listed as active in the DHCP table, even though these connections were up and running. I could get them on the table by going into the Network (Advanced) Pane in System Preferences and renewing the DHCP Lease. Of course, you can’t do that on the Apple TV. However, you can reboot your modem to refresh everything. Did that, and guess what, Apple TV came up smiling! The WAP2 Password was clearly stored somewhere, and the reboot of the modem clearly triggered a response.
That was last night (or should I say, very early morning!). I shut power off to my TV and HiFi when not using, and this also shuts off the Apple TV. I just booted both up this morning and the Apple TV came up smelling like a rose.
Hope this helps a few people.

  • Airport Extreme won't connect to network

I just replaced our old Airport Extreme with a new Airport Extreme. Now our Airport Express won't connect with our network. I've got the dreaded blinking yellow light and the Airport Express does not show up as an icon in my Aiport Utilities application. Any ideas? Thanks.

Whenever changing out networking hardware it is always a good idea to perform a complete power recycle of all of your networking gear to make sure that they are communicating properly. Once you re-established a working baseline between the new Extreme and the modem, we can assist you with the Express if you still have issues getting it to connect.

  • Sony Blu-Ray BDP-S570 won't connect to iMac

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to connect my new sony blu-ray player to my iMac wirelessly. My iMac is set up as an airport base station, and I have no problems connecting my iPhone to it to use the internet.
Internet sharing is turned on, and i'm using a 40-bit WEP password. Every time I try to connect my blu-ray player, it connects to the network, but cannot connect to the internet. Anyone else have this issue? Any ideas? I'm pretty frustrated.
    Thanks!

Hi there I'm having a similar problem with the s570 - it finds the livebox network ok but I enter the WPA password
The AirPort Extreme can use the following WPA security settings:
    WPA2 Personal
    WPA/WPA2 Personal
Which of these are you trying to use?
Is there something in the instruction sheet or setup page of the Blu-Ray player that specifies exactly what type of security settings are compatible with the device?

  • MBP won't connect to network.

I have a '09 MBP, Cox Internet, and a Belkin Router. My MBP will connect to the router through WiFi and through LAN but for some reason won't actually get internet. The router works through the home computer and laptop (both Windows). I've read that there are sometimes problems with the Belkin router and Macs but I've tried every setting on there and can't figure it out.
I want to at least pinpoint where the problem lies. We have a fairly old modem so I'm not sure if that is the issue. I've also tried plugging in the computer directly into the modem  which results in the same thing, which is odd because I used to have a Buffalo router and everything worked fine.
I used to be able to connect on my MBP by VPN'ing into a different network, so I guess there is some DNS issues on my network, but not I can't VPN either.
    Any ideas?

DNS, first thing to check for the network. Use GoogleDNS as a test: 8.8.8.8

  • Sony HDR-HC3E won't connect?

    Ok,
So I was trying to import from my camera in a automatic setting but all that happens is that it just films for 5 seconds and then just stops,
I have also tried using manual but it doesn't seem to be recording, so any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Max for the extra information. I'm a bit stumped now! It's a while since I've imported from my older miniDV camcorder (Sony DCR-TRV20E). Having trouble remembering my procedure - at least my Sony had no trouble connecting or importing. Not sure why yours is stopping after a few seconds.
Possibly, there is a bad segment on the tape. I recall having some issues with JVC miniDV tape some years ago. Try starting from a point a little beyond where the tape stops. I appreciate that this will be difficult, given that iMovie insists on rewinding the tape, then stops and won't restart.
In the camera (when not connected to the Mac) play the tape to check for any glitches (uneven playback or distorted images), then stop playback after moving past the position iMovie stopped playing it. Now try again with iMovie - as soon as the camera is recognised, hit the import button - hopefully iMovie will not start rewinding! But you may still have the problem of not seeing the footage in the viewer.
Did you have a look at the thread I linked to earlier? David Babsky did mention Belkin cables as possibly being one of the problematic ones (he couldn't remember).
You might like to try connecting your camera to a similar Mac as yours at an Apple Store or outlet. I'm sure they will be helpful, and possibly allow you to try one of their cables. It's really a matter of isolating the problem - is it the cable, a bad port on the Mac or camera, a glitch on the tape, or perhaps an issue with iMovie itself - hard to tell without testing on other equipment. I note that your camera (as mine) is now getting up to the vintage category (released nearly 5 years ago), so perhaps it's showing signs of wear.
Another thought, if you can get hold of another camera try playing the tape with that in iMovie. Do you know whether the recording was made using the SP (Standard Play) setting or LP (Long Play)? The LP setting can cause problems if the tape is played back on a different camera than the one it was recorded on.
Let us know how things go - hopefully you can test on other gear. Other users of tape based cameras here may be able to offer further advice. Good luck!

  • Replaced Airport Extreme router with Airport Time Capsule-now printer won't connect to network

I had no issues with connecting to the Airport Extreme.  I have recently replaced the Extreme with an Airport Time Capsule (the new one that is 802.11 ac).  All of my other products were able to detect the WIFI router and connected with no issue once I entered the password.  However, the HP 2710 finds the WiFi router, allows me to select it but when I enter my password and click OK, it comes back after several minutes saying that it can't connect to the network.  I checked the IP address and it's all 0.0.0.0 - it's won't establish an IP address either.

Hello @theros1093 , and welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience!
I understand that you're having issues connecting to your router. I would like to help!
I'd recommend powering down your computer.  Once it's powered down,  go to the printer and select Setup , select Network, and select.  Restore Network Defaults.  Power down the printer.  Once it's all shut down, unplug the router power for 60 seconds, and plug it back in.  After it broadcasts, power on the printer and computer, and reconnect to the wireless network.
Good luck and please let me know the results of your troubleshooting steps. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums!
