Sony Bloggie -- How to trim video

I generally use my Sony Bloggie to shoot concerts. My question is in regards to trimming videos, so I can extract one song out of a set and post onto YouTube. When I hit the Trim button on one of my segments, the screen goes into "One Moment Please" for an inordinately amount of time and doesn't do anything. How long is this supposed to stay there until the new video is produced? Am I doing something wrong? An answer would be much appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the forums.
Often, a video clip you have taken may be longer than you want or some sharing services such as YouTube, Flickr, or Facebook, has a file size or play length requirement.
Currently, YouTube limits a video clip to a maximum file size of 2GB or 15 minutes. With all Flickr accounts (free and premium), a video clip is limited to 150 MB in size or 90 seconds in length. Facebook video file size and play length limits are dynamically determined based on a users’ profile based on a host of criteria.
Bloggie Software allows you to trim the beginning and ending portions of a video clip.
To trim a video:
*first select the video clip.
On the right hand side in the Voice area, a “Trim Video” option appears.
*Click on “Trim Video”.
*The Trim video tool will appear.
You can adjust the beginning and the ending of the video by adjusting the marker on the left to where you would like the video clip to begin, and the marker on the right to where the video clip will end. When you are happy with the video clip, you can trim the video.
*select the “Trim” button.
The trimmed video will then be displayed as well as a copy of the video will be created and appear in the Bloggie Software “Everything” view. To return back to your Library of photos and videos, select the “Close” button.
If your computer is hanging and will not complete the trimming process please ensure any resident security programs are not preventing the Bloggie software from completing the task.

  • Importing Sony Bloggie camera's MP4 videos?

    Hello.
Can iPhoto '08 and '11 import MP4 video recordings from a Sony Bloggie camera? I tried this on an old 15" MacBook Pro with its updated Mac OS X 10.5.8 and its preinstalled iPhoto '08. It detected them in iPhoto, but can't play? However, opening MP4 in Finder for QuickTime seems to work. Will Mac OS X 10.8.3 and iPhoto '11 have the same problem? Basically, iPhoto is like with photo(graph)s to keep in collections.
    Thank you in advance.

If QuickTime can play it then iPhoto should too. Are you sure the exact verion of the OS on that machine? iPhoto08 and 10.6 had a problem playing videos, but not 10.5
Well, I tried to play them when iPhoto automatically appeared after connecting and turning on the camera. Note that I have not imported them yet. If I try to play them through Finder, then it works.

i have an Ellipse 7 tablet, i took a video , but need to cut a minute from end of it how do i do it?

Check the play store for a video editor app unless you already have one installed.  If I playback a video and hit menu edit it takes me to Samsung to download Video Editor software (free).  You can try that and see where it takes you as well.

  • How do you trim videos in Photo Booth on the OS X Mavericks?

I recently updated to the new OS X Mavericks. I don't know how to trim videos on Photo Booth though. Before I updated, there was a "trim" button on the bottom right side of the video that was playing, but I'm not sure where it is now. Is it even possible to trim videos anymore? Thank you

After you take your video and it appears on that little strip at the bottom, click and drag the video you want to trim onto your desktop. Then right click and choose Open With > Quicktime Player.app (It should be default.)
Then when it's open, press Command-T on your keyboard or go to the Edit menu and click Trim...
Then drag the little yellow handles to where you want to trim it to and hit the Trim button.
Then press Command-S to save it, or click the little share/export on the player controls to send it to Facebook or whatever you choose.
    Hope this helps,

  • How to "trim original" video in iOS?

When iOS first came out I remember there being an option to "trim original" video where the entire video would be replaced with only the part that you wanted to keep (the trimmed parts of the video would be deleted permanently). You also had the option to "save as new clip" which would keep both the original video and a new file with the trimmed parts removed.
Where has the "trim original" feature gone? It does not show up in the latest version of iOS 8 but it is still referenced in the iPhone User Guide for iOS (see attached picture).
The picture below shows the options I get when attempting to trim a video in iOS 8. You can see that the only option I get is to save as a new clip.

I think I just figured out the answer... If iCloud Photo Library is turned on, I only get the option to save as a new clip. Thus, trimming video creates two files that take up cloud storage (for which Apple charges if you want more than 5 GB). If I disable iCloud Photo Library, the option to trim original returns. If this is intentional on Apple's part, it is very clever of them to try to get people to fill up their iCloud storage faster. Of course you just go back and delete the original if you don't want it, but this extra step seems unnecessary when Apple operating systems are supposed to be "intuitive" and "just work."
Apple, please add the "trim original" feature for those who have enabled iCloud Photo Library. There is no reason this should be any different with iCloud Photo Library enabled other than to try to trick people into filling up their iCloud storage (and subsequently paying for more) faster.

  • How can you restore a trimmed video on your iphone?

can you recover a trimmed video from your iPhone if you did not back up to your pc?
when you trim can you recover video you have trimmed?

    Trimming=Delete.
When you trim the video, you’re trimming the original file, and any frames you delete from the video are gone forever. So you should make sure you really want to make cuts before you do so, or at least, back up your videos to your computer first. Sounds like you have no backup(which is done as the first part of a sync) before you trimmed. Thus, the footage is gone.

  • How to split video and extracted audio clip at same time?

I imported 10 min of DV from my Sony HC96 camcorder to iMovie 6.
I selected a video clip and split it using cmd-T but the extracted audio clip below it did not split. How can I split both the video and underlying audio clip so I can drag the edge of the new video clip for editing by direct trimming and keep the audio dialogue in sync. I have already gotten the clip volume levels right in the extracted audio.
This seems pretty basic editing but I must be missing something.
    thanks, ralph

Thanks, Sue. Let me see that I have this right. I split the video then the audio. I then selected and trimmed the video to the remove the 10-15 seconds I wanted to remove. To keep the dialogue in sync with the speaker's lips, I then selected and trimmed the audio to the same time as I trimmed the video. Then I dragged the audio clip back up to the new start of the trimmed video clip. I did this and the dialogue and lips seem to be in sync.
I guess originally I had looked for a solution where I cut both clips at the same time and trimming one trimmed the other. But now I see I just need to do them separately. Thanks for the help, Sue!
    ralph
    Hi Ralph:
You can't do both at the same time, but you can do
them one right after the other. Highlight the audio
and split it after you split the video and be sure to
keep the playhead in the same position.

  • Sony Bloggie touch camera download to Ipad

Can anyone tell me if and how I can download videos and photos from my Sony Bloggie touch camera directly to my Ipad? I have tried doing it using the USB camera adapter kit and I get a message on the Ipad saying "Cannot use device. The connected USB device requires too much power".

I am using the camera connection kit USB adapter. Can't use the card reader because the camera doesn't have an sd card only internal memory. I have a gut feeling that the camera is trying to charge through the USB port (which is where it charges from) but  the Ipad is showing that message because maybe something isn't set right on the camera. Thanks for the help though. Any further thoughts/ideas would be appreciated.

    Hi,
There is separate board for the Bloggie camera. I am moving this post to the appropriate board so that others looking for the same information can locate it under the correct board.
Now to answer your post, instructions regarding using the basic functions of the Bloggie Camera can be found in the supplied manual. However, detailed instructions regarding the different functions of the Bloggie camera can be found in the Bloggie Handbook included on its internal memory.
You can also download the handbook from the below link.
    http://www.docs.sony.com/release/MHSFS1-FS2_handbook.pdf
Additionally, there are video tutorials available for the Bloggie camera in the “Videos & Tutorials” section of the eSupport website.
For instructions regarding installing and using the Bloggie software, refer to the below link to some great tutorials on the Bloggie that I found on the Sony UK website.

While I am able to hit the close button when I have the Bloggie connected to my computer using PlayMemories, there is no close button when uploading using just the Bloggie.
How do I resolve this problem?
Thank You in advance to whoever can help.

    Hi Elizabeth,
    Welcome to Sony Community!
Make sure that you’ve registered your access point with the Camera. Try turning OFF and ON the Camera. Also, try to share videos using different sharing sites and check if it works.

Now I'm stuck with a just-about useless camera. I really need something as small as the FH1 (it's TINY).
Hard-drive camcorders record MPG2, which I assume makes them just as useless.
Is then MiniDV the only choice for a sub-$500 1080i/p camera that will allow me to edit footage without converting?
If so, any tips on the smallest one out there?
Google came up with Sony's DCR-PC55, but it's four years old and only does SD...
Do you want good OR do you want cheap? That is the decision you need to make. Also, tiny tends to be the opposite of good.
P.S. AIC converted it best; ProRes(Lo/HQ) left it pixelated for playback. But it takes about an hour a minute, and increases the file-size tenfold, so it's no good anyway.
Yes, your actual editable video file is going to be 10x bigger than a MPEG-4 file. That is what you want.
P.S. 2 "....FCP is converting your video behind the scenes which is causing all your problems."
If that's the case, then my oldish MacBook Pro (2GHz Duo, 2GB RAM) has enough juice to play the 640x480 MPG4 clips smoothly, but not the HD ones. Could the latest MacBook (2.5/6/8GHz, 8GB RAM) could play the 1080p30 clips smoothly?
No, you still have the same problem. MPEG-4 files are non-editable. You really need to convert to an editable format and then bring that into FCP. MPEG Streamclip is going to be your best choice.
