how to connect hdmi cable on hp g60 to sony bravia lcd?

    Hello sohagshahin,
It appears that your HDMI port is not working on the notebook. I will try to assist with this.
Have you verified that the port indeed does not work by trying other tv's or monitors? (try one of each if possible).
Have you tried other HDMI cables?

  • Mounting Sony Bravia 46" TV

I'm trying to wall mount my Sony Bravia TV and found that the mounting holes on the TV are not verticle. They are at a slight angle which will cause the hangers to not lie flat on the hanging bracket. Does this mean I have to buy mounting bracket specifically designed for my Sony TV?

My Sony KDL42W805A did exactly the same - Skype worked early last week, then would not connect. The Sony website - http://www.sony-europe.com/support/en/content/cnt-hn/prd-tvhc/skype-disabled-on-some-tvs/KDL-42W805A - has details of the models affected.
However, my TV updated itself this morning and Skype now works again, once I had logged back in. If your TV has not updated, connect it to the internet, go to settings > product support > software update and, with luck, you should be able to use Skype again.

  • Digital adapter and invalid format with Sony bravia tv

I recently purchased an iPad 2 and the digital adapter so I can play what's on my ipad2 on the tv.  I have a 26' Sony Bravia tv model kdl-26m4000 and when I hook up the iPad with the digital adapter with a hdmi cable the tv says "invalid format".  I somehow got it to work once but I can't get it to work again. I tried the adapter on another Sony Bravia tv that is 52' and it connects without a problem. I also used it on another Sony tv while on vacation without a problem. Does anyone know why I can't get it to work on my tv. The 52' Sony Bravia tv that it works on is older then my tv so I'm not sure what the problem is. I took the digitl adapter cable back to apple to get a new one and it still doesn't work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The mention of VGA was to give you something to look for.  It is not likely that an HDMI port would have that problem!
For purposes of troubleshooting, you might try swapping the HDMI ports.  If both ports work the same with both the iPad and the Blu-Ray, then there is probably nothing you can do to make the iPad work with that TV's HDMI.
Does that TV have any other video inputs?  Apple also has adapters for VGA, Composite and Component Video.  They will not have as high a video quality, but may work.

  • Cannot Connect Imac 24" via mini dvi to HDMi adapter cable to Sony Bravia 3

    Hello Everyone,
I'm having the worst time in trying to connect the following:
    1. Imac 24" 3.06 dual with dvi connection
    2. Mini dvi to HDMI adapter (this mac with this connection was produced only for a short while!).
    3. 10' (foor) HDMI wire
    3. Sony Bravia 32" model KDL32L-5000 with 3 HDML connections
i.When I wire everything up, I keep getting"no signal" on my Sony Bravia TV.
ii. It doesn't matter whether I connect the HDMI wire to HDMI 1,2, or 3 on my Sony
iii. On my Imac Hard Drive>>Applications>>System Preferences>>Displays
all I get is a list of different resolutions. There is no mention or mirrors etc.
Nothing happens when I press "Gather Windows" or Detect Displays"
Can someone out there please help!!!!!
Can you also give any solution in very simple and small detailed steps!
    Thanks,
    Stacey Bindman

Majortrout, there is a major disconnect going on here.
    1. You are showing an Ebay link with a mini-DVI to HDMI adapter.
    2. You report that you have an Early '09 24" iMac.
    3. That iMac does not have a mini-DVI port. That iMac has a mini-DispayPort.
    4. You need a mini-DisplayPort to HDMI adapter.
It is physically impossible to attach the adapter to which you link at Ebay to your iMac. So you need to take a step back and figure out what you really have; which iMac, which adapter, etc.

  • Sony Bravia high pitched ringing

I just bought a brand new Sony Bravia 32' model KDL32EX500 yesterday and everything appeared to be in working order except for a very high pitched ringing sound that comes from the television. I figured this was normal as it is powered on, but it also continues to make this high pitched noise while in standby mode. I researched this a bit online and found this to not be normal at all. I was just wondering what I would be able to do about this or if there is a possible way to fix it. After unplugging the television from the outlet after every use, the noise goes away after several seconds, but I'd hate to have to do that all the time. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I had this same problem while video chatting. I think it has to do with the sound being echoed through the speakers. For example, if I said hi, my friend can hear it, her mic picks it up, it comes back through my speakers my mic picks it up, goes back to her.. etc.
Simple solution, use head phones when talking. As soon as everyone in my chat plugged our ipod headphones into our computer the problem disappeared.
    Hope this helps!

  • What input channel should my sony bravia tv be on for apple tv to work?

I am trying to plug our new apple tv into our Sony LCD Digital Color TV (KDL-V26XBR1) but I the tv instructions do not explain which input channel the tv needs to be set to to watch appletv.  I have purchased an HDMI cable which is plugged into the apple tv and the television.  Help...I'm a bit tech hopless.

If you only have one HDMI connection, cycle through your input options until you reach HDMI, press any button on your Apple Tv and in a few moments you should see the Apple TV interface.
If you have more than one HDMI connection, each HDMI port will usually have a number alongside it, discover the number of the HDMI port you are using and cycle to that input......

  • Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000 or Samsung LN32B460?

I'm getting a 32" HDTV and these are my options
    Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000
    or
    Samsung LN32B460
    I will be using this tv for sd/hd channels,PS3 gaming,and blu-ray
    Thanks in advance

I am very impressed with Samsung LN32B460 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV. It is very easy to set up, you can use on screen plug and play setup. This model has better contrast ratio compare to last year’s A-series 450's, it also includes a QAM turner which allows you to receive HD signals from the major networks without the need for a special cable box

  • Apple TV doesn't connect with sony bravia KDL-40NX720 TV

I'd like to connect my apple TV (bought yesterday) to my Sony bravia KDL-40NX720.
I connect the Apple TV with the HDMI cable but it doesn't connect to the Sony.
    What can I try?

Do you have a 2nd or third gen Apple TV?  The problem may be you have 3rd Gen which requires a 1080i supporting TV and I am assuming the 720 at the end of your model number means it is a 720i TV.  That would support 2 Gen apple TV but not 3rd.  Is that possibly the problem?
Check which ATV you have and the tech spec of the TV.  If I am wrong please post again so we can look at other issues.
Hope I am wrong by the way!

  • Samsung LN46A950 VS Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR8

Samsung LN46A950 VS Sony Bravia KDL-46XBR8
I see a difference in LED lighting. The Sony has three colors as the Samsung just uses white. Does anyone know why the Samsung seems to be more popular? Which is the better tv?
    Review comparison

From what I have heard and read.  Samsung Panels are just spectacular at producing whiter whites and blacker blacks.  When it comes down to comparing these 2 models that are so close to each other in terms of company competition.  Best thing you can do is see them in person
My vote goes to Samsung BTW

  • Cables for Macbook Pro to Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500 ??

    Greetings -
We have an Aug 2009 MacBook Pro -- would like to feed video / movies to our Sony Bravia KDL-40V2500, which has all manner of inputs -- HDMI, Composite, S-Video.
There appears to be a video port between the firewire & 2 USB ports.
What cable(s) do I need to get the optimal picture to the TV (and what to the receiver)?
    Thanks,

  • MacBook 13-inch Aluminum (Late 2008) to Sony Bravia KDL-40W5800

    Hello forum,
I am looking to buy a Sony Bravia KDL-40W5800 (Sony link, Amazon link) in the near future. I am going to be using it to play PS3, watch television and DVDs/Blu-Rays, but also I would like to be able to connect my MacBook to it if I wish to. I have been reading the forum and have come across numerous users that have problems connecting their MacBook to their HD-TVs.
    So my questions are:
What adapter cables do I need to connect the two devices (I already own the Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter, if that's any help) correctly?
Is the Sony Bravia KDL-40W5800 compatible with the MacBook and does anyone have any experience with the TV itself? If so, I would be grateful for any kind of feedback.
    Thank you in advance,
    XtremeFluX

    Hi,
I have been using my macbook (late 2008 2.4 ghz) with my Sony Bravia (KDL 26S2030) for about a year now. I use Mini Display port to VGA and then into my PC input. I am perfectly happy with the picture quality (although you may want to fiddle with you custom settings) and I have never had any issues.
When I was looking originally I came across tons of people who had problems with connecting the Macbook to their monitors. However there was a patch that came out (maybe last march) and so I bought my equipment after that and the mac always connects properly (although be sure to turn your TV on before to put the mini display port in). You will need to calibrate it and that will be that.
I hope that helps a bit.

  • Connecting MacBook to Sony Bravia KDL-40XBR9 - No sound through TV

I recently bought a Sony Bravia KDL-40XBR9. I have it hooked up to my MacBook using an HDMI to DVI connection. But, I'm not getting sound through the TV. So, I bought a 3.5mm to RCA (one red, one white connection) cable. I've plugged the red and white connections into all of the red/white ports on the back of the tv but I'm still not getting sound out of the tv.
Can someone please help me with this setup?
    Thanks!!

Does your Bravia also have red and white input jacks on the side of the TV (my Bravia does, on the left). On my Bravia, those are the only audio inputs that are active for all inputs, and they are what I use when I am playing my MB through HDMI (which, as you found, only transmits video).

    Thanks in advance!

    @RW4HP ,
Hello and thank you for posting on the HP support forums.  Lets see if we can get your sound issue resolved here.
First thing we will want to do is break down each step in the chain of components.
First thing you will want to try is to connect directly to the display with your notebook and try to play the movie.
If no sound go to the next HDMI input on the Display.  NOT THE SONY.  If no sound from each of the input ports on the Display.  Change the HDMI cable.
    Repeat the first steps.
Now if that fails try another DVD.  If you are still having a no sound issue try a new media player.
Switch up to VLC media player.  The only reason I suggest this one is due to the fact that is a free player and is loaded full of codecs that support almost anything.
    VLC Media Player
If this fails to do the job then we shall move on to the removal of the drivers.
Now when you go to uninstall the HDMI driver you will want to do this from safe mode.  This will make sure no other drivers or software are live to make a mess of the removal.
Before you remove the drivers though you will want to download the drivers that are the only supported drivers for your system from this link.
HP ENVY 17-j001eb Notebook PC Drivers
Now boot into safe mode and remove the HDMI drivers and the Graphics and Sound drivers.
    Windows 8 Safe Mode
Once you have done all this the next thing is to follow the steps for troubleshooting HDMI.
    Here are some links.

  • What connector do I need for MacBookPro1,1 for a Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000?

I'm a little confused on which display connector I need to hook up my Macbook Pro (MacBookPro1,1) to a Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000. (http://www.sonystyle.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=1055 1&storeId=10151&langId=-1&XID=O:kdl32l5000:dg_ggldf&productId=819855292166574629 4)
    can anyone help me?

As you have a 1st gen MBPO, I'd go with a DVI to VGA converter, as per http://store.apple.com/us/product/M8754G/A
If you want sound, you'll either want a 3.5mm stereo to RCA / Phono stereo lead also, similar to this:

    Hope that this helps
