Sony Dreammachine Clock radio.

I purchased this product 2 years ago and enjoyed it immensely but last month it just stopped working. I was informed by your repair division that I could send it in and they would give me a quote to repair(anywhere between $10 to $100). Once I shipped to your repair center I was told that all repairs are $90 and they refused to even look at it until I paid…..i spent $15 to ship and would never have sent in this product if they told me it’s a flat $90 fee…ie I only paid $150 for this product.
Im really sad to think Sony products die after 2 yrs and that you would charge a loyal customer(my family all had sony tvs, etc) $90 to repair a product that costs $150. At least reimburse the postage costs and fix the product for a reasonable fee…The product was shipped back to me with no note or letter…..horrible experience!
I want to express my continued disappointment in Sony and its handling of this situation. I recently received a phone call offering me 2 other Sony Clock radio’s……one for $35 and another for $50….neither of which came close to the Dream Machine Clock radio…ie no LCD screen to watch movies, photo storage, etc etc…..I already spent $25 in shipping plus batteries(thinking the battery died which wasn’t the case) to try and rectify this situation. Why cant someone just fix this machine….it shouldn’t have died after 2 yrs….....i would hope you would allow me to reship(at Sony’s expense this time) and that you would be able to fix it and no expense to me….

  • IPod touch not working with Sony clock radio.

iPod 4th gen won't play music through new Sony clock radio.  It charges but won't play or control music.  Works with 2 iPhones tested but not touch.  Yes I am using the correct adapters, universal for iPod and the different ones for phones.

Does Sony say it will work with yur model iPod and iOS?
Do the phones have the same iOS?
Is the iPod fully seated in the dock?
Does the iPod sync and charge OK?
    - Inspect the dock connector for bend or missing contacts, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    Sometimes this works
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Iphone 4s is no longer charging on Sony ICF-C05ip clock radio since upgrading phone to ios8

Since upgrading my iPhone 4s to ios8 my phone will no longer charge on my Sony Clock Radio ICF-C05ip.
The phone now comes up with the message "not compatibable with this device" and beeps.
It worked fine before the software upgrade so not a hardware problem.
    Any fixes available?

Try restoring the iPhone ,it may be corrupted iOS installation

  • Phone Adapter for Sony Clock Radio

I recently purchased a Sony model ICF-C8WM clock radio along with a walkman player. Since both docking connectors are exposed when I am using the Walkman device, I would also like to take advantage of the phone dock. I would switch my phone to a Sony Ericsson except for the fact that your brand of phone is not produced for the Verizon Wireless network. Is there some type of adapter device available that would allow me to couple my LG phone with the phone dock? I know this is a tough one but I just wondered if you know of such a device. Thanks. A. Sirull

    Thank you for your post.
Unfortunately, there is no optional adapter that will connect a none Sony Ericsson Phones to the Speaker Dock Clock.

  • Iphone not charging with iHome or Sony clock radio

OK, a little off topic. My iphone charges fine with a wall outlet or USB port connected to my computer. I bought a Sony clock radio (iphone compatible) and the phone won't charge in the dock. I took it back and got an iHome model (again iphone compatible) and it won't change there either.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

Before you take it back, give iHome's service department a call and see if they have any suggestions.

  • Sony clock-radio docking station not compitable after 2.2.1 upgarde

After upgrading both my iPhones to 2.2.1, my Sony clock-radio docking station (icf-c1ipmk2)does not work with the iPhone anymore. The unit is made for iPhone and worked without any issues until the 2.2.1 upgrade.
Now every time I place the iPhone in the docking station, I get the following message on the iPhone:
"This accessory is not made to work with iPhone."
With the option to start in Airplane mode.
Is anyone else having the same issue? Is there any solution to this?

Just FYI i have the next generation of Sony clock Radio ICF-CD3i(the round one with the pop out dock) and guess what "This accessorie not campatible with iPhone" though i can quite past the warning message then it works fine. The interesting part is i tried it out on another one at the shop at time of purchase and it worked fine. So long and short going to return it get another one see if that works. Just seems like Sony (Love there products not bagging them)need to put more work into working out the compatibility from their end

  • My iPhone 4S is not charging when plugged into clock radio. What's wrong?

So about a week ago, I docked my iPhone 4S into my Sony ICF-C7iP clock radio as I do every evening before going to bed. I bought this clock radio back in August and have had no problems with it at all. However this time, I noticed my phone was not charging. It didn't make the charging beep nor did it show on the display that it was charging. I tried removing it & re-seating it...nothing. I tried rebooting my phone which resulted in the same problem. When I plug my iPhone into either a standard sync cable or an iPhone dock, it charges/syncs as normal.
Suspecting the problem was with the alarm clock, I contacted Sony support. The clueless support rep on the other line suggested I return the clock in exchange for a refurbished one. For a $60 clock, this was more trouble than it was worth, so I decided against it.
I then decided to purchase an iHome iA9 which was sure to work. I just unpacked it and set it up. When I docked the iPhone on it...you guessed it...nothing. It is still not charging. The funny thing is that the iPhone will play music through the iHome with no problems. I had also tried plugging the iHome into a different outlet with no luck either. I am out of ideas. I am left to assume that for some reason, my phone does no longer like charging when docked on to an alarm clock.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how I can get this to work again? I recently upgraded to iOS 5.1 and honestly don't know if that would have anything to do with it. But the likelihood of 2 completely different clock radios exhibiting the same problem is virtually non-existent.
As mentioned, I tried rebooting the phone with no luck. Docking the phone to a standard charging cable plugged into the wall charges the phone fine. Docking the phone on an iPhone compatable dock charges the phone fine. Is the problem with my phone?
Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Tim, I was speaking generally. Obviously the iOS upgrade didn't remove the ability to charge on ALL 3rd party devices, else my iH9 wouldn't charge it either.
What I just can't understand is how an old iHome model works just fine with a new iPhone, yet a new iHome model will not. If anything, I would think it would be the other way around.
Anyway, I emailed iHome explaining my situation and I asked if they had planned on releasing a firmware update to fix the problem. I got the typical generic response about unplugging the iHome & removing the batteries for an hour then trying again. And if that doesn't work, send it in for repair in which I would need to pay for the shipping.
If I decide to go that route, I think it's just going to be a waste of time as I would get the iHome back "repaired" and it would have the exact same problem. But I guess I'll never know until I try.
I remember reading on these forums about several others having the same problem. So what are the odds that the iHomes these other people got who are experiencing the same problem are problematic as well? Unless the "repair" iHome is referring to is a firmware update, I don't really buy into this.

  • Clock radio won't recognize ipod touch when docked

I bought my daughter a Sony Clock Radio that you can attach an Ipod touch too, but for some reason it won't play the music through the radio.  At first I thought it was the radio, but then docked my sons' Ipod touch, and it works.  Trying to figure out what setting needs to be adjusted.  Any suggestions?

What model and iOS is on the iPod that works?
Does Sony say it will work with a 4G with iOS 6.1.5?
    Sometimes this works:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

    iOS: How to back up

However, the working IOd is not a 4G with ios 6.1.5, sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility

  • Using a docking clock/radio

recently purchased touch and sony clock radio (model number ICF/C1iPMK2)at Christmas. Worked fine up to now, but recently it doesn't seem to recognise when the touch is docked (doesn't charge, can't play music). A nano works ok on it though, and the touch performs ok on another docking station! I am now confused where the problem lies, with the touch or docking station. Any ideas anyone?

Recently, I have the same problem but with my B&W Zeppelin, and it turned out it was the problem of B&W and has sent it for service.

  • I have a ICF-CD815 clock radio CD player. Last night it made a "chime" noise every 5 minutes.

It was maddening. I have checked the user guide and it says nothing about this.
    David

    Hi sganarelle,
Perform a power reset in the Clock Radio and check if the chime noise occurs. Turn OFF the Clock Radio and disconnect power cord from the wall outlet. Allow the Clock radio without power for a minute.
Reconnect the power cord, turn ON the radio and check if it is producing chime noise. If the issue persists, I suggest that you get the Radio serviced. Click on the below link to initiate the service request (If you're located in U.S):

  • ICF-C05iP Fm clock radio/dock

I received this item as a gift for Christmas and it worked great until 2 weeks ago. For some reason it will charge but it won't play the music from my iPhone 4S thru the speakers anymore. I usually would listen to an audiobook at night while falling asleep. I tried turning both off and trying again but still the same issue. The dock doesn't appear to be broken when looking at it plus it still lets me charge it. How can I fix it? I'm also thinking of upgrading my phone soon, will there be an adapter for the iPhone 5?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Check if there is a new update (software/firmware) available for the iPhone device.
Try doing the following steps and check if it helps:
    On the Sony docking system:
    Unplug the power cord.
    Wait approximately 10 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the AC power outlet.
    On the iPhone:
Hold down both the Home and the Lock button at the same time.
Wait approximately 10 seconds until the power on the unit turns off.
Turn the power back on by holding down either the Home or the Lock button.
Also, try playing music from a different compatible iPod/iPhone (https://us.en.kb.sony.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/33615/c/65%2C66/kw/33615) to verify if the issue is with your iPhone 4S.
Sony has not yet tested iPhone5 with the Clock Radios as it has only been released recently. Moreover, the connector of the iPhone5 is different from that of the previous versions of iPhone. Therefore, you need to contact Apple support to check for availability of an adaptor. The name of the connector on iPhone5 is Lightning port.

  • Any alarm clock/radios that work for iP4?

Looking to purchase a alarm clock radio but wasn't sure which ones are compatible with the iP4. I have a few in the house in the kids room that won't charge or work with iphone but works fine with ipod. Any suggestions?

I have a Sony clock radio that I purchased when I got my 3G. It still works with my IP4, it also obviously worked with my 3GS.

  • 3rd Gen Nano-Problems with iPod Clock Radio.

    Hey All,
I'm having problems w/new Nano and an Alarm Clock Radio for iPods.
    1) When the alarm time is reached, the iPod display lights up like its been triggered, by the alarm clock base, but music doesn't play. The unit then reverts to the beeper.
    2) The unit is made by SDI Technologies, the same people that make the iHome models of Alarm Clock radioes. They've told me that Apple needs to come out w/an update/fix.
    3) Does that sound right to all of you?
Has anyone heard about a time frame for a revision past 1.0.1?
    Thanks, Tom

    Thanks GunnerJr,
I had an appt. at my local Apple store yesterday. The guy was helpful but felt that it indeed was a firmware issue that was occurring. He couldn't say when the next update would be rolled out but said they're pretty frequent based on prior Apple products.
Apparently the redesign of the Nano is from the ground up and very thorough. The firmware in the clock radio is probably kind of dated back to some time in '06. Hopefully the software/QA people will get wind of this issue and arite it into a future update. Certainly not the biggest issue they'll deal with but hopefully sooner rather than later.
