Sony DVD Burner and 350 mhz AGP not being recognised by iTunes
I managed to get a Sony DVD Burner for my friends Powermac g4 AGP, the sales assistant sais it would be comatible for macs....it installed fine and wa sable to read dvd's perfectly, when my friend went to burn a CD from iTunes it would not work as it seems the drive is not supported. I have tried finidng some drivers all over the sony website for it but to no avail. I don't suppose anyone has any experience with this brand of burner? Any help would be appreciated thanks.
As I recall, Sony's internal DVD burners are made by Lite-On, but as far as the G4 is concerned - the drive's firmware indicates a Sony product. A compatibilty problem for burning a disk occurs, when the CD/DVD drive is newer than the supporting profiles for Apple's Disk Burner software. Have you checked into "PatchBurn?" Other than that, your friend could purchase Roxio's "Toast," which has more user settings than Apple's software.

I have an unknown error (1621) and my iPod is not being recognised in iTunes or the Finder, even in Disc mode. Anyone know what's going on?
Try and force iPod into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPod
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad -
My ipad (mini) and ipod are not being recognised by itunes?
When connecting both my ipad(mini) and ipod(7th gen) they are not being recognised by itunes. I last connected just over a month ago and everything was fine. When I last connected I also connected my old ipod(3rd gen) to add new playlists beforing giving to someone else. When I first plugged in I got a message saying that the cable was not Apple authorised - both my cables are cables supplied with my ipod/ipad so came from Apple? When I run diagnostics it says
"Most recent devices not currently connected, - iPod Nano (3rd Gen) and iPad Mini running firmware 6.1.3" This is the first time I have tried to connect since updated my iPad with IOS7? Please help I wanted to put Christmas playlists on both devices.....!Device Not Recognised > http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538

Since installing the latest itunes to windows 8 my iphone and ipod touch is not being recognized in itunes, therefore i can't change playlists or add songs etc. Is this a fault with itunes as it was fine with the older version or is there something i can do. I'm not on IOS yet but would like to backup my phone first but can't do that atm due to not being able to view my phone on itunes!
ThanksHi, jodie_0182.
I would recommend the steps in the article below. See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.

Iphone is not being recognised on itunes to sync?
Hi, I have connected my iphone to my computer but it is not being recognised on itunes?can u help?
I just replaced my 3GS with an iPhone 4 yesterday, and the new phone will not sync with iTunes. It pops up with the following error message whenever I hook it up:
"The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.1 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."
I just got this phone from AT&T, and there are no updates available for either my computer or my phone, so they have to have the newest iTunes.
Also, whenever I plug it in, the new phone does not appear under the "devices" tab on the left like my old one does.
Thanks in advance for whatever advice you can give me. -
Ipod touch 6.1.3 not being recognised by iTunes 10.7
Just got a secondhand iPod Touch. It is on 6.1.3 and I have iTunes 10.7 running on my iMac 10.6.8. As far as I can see 6.1.3 is supported on iTunes 10.7. I tried the Apple trouble-shooting page but to be honest it wasn't that helpful.
If I set up Home Sharing then I can Home Share using the iPod Touch...which says that I do have connectivity at some level. Just that it is not being recognised by iTunes and so I am unable to load my apps or transfer any music over. Many thanks lllaass
I had gone through the first part without success but had decided not to go through the second stage. But following your recommendation I did just that and it works! -

Download RecBoot and see if that will kick it out of recovery mode.
Try doing a manual install following the instructions in the link below.

My iPod Classic (60GB) Clickwheel is not being recognised in iTunes although the iPod shows in 'My Computer'. The problem started with an error message in iTunes saying "Could not complete sync as devise may have become corrupt" and suggested I restore the iPod to factory settings which I have done several times. I've carried out an error check in the iPod properties. I've completely removed iTunes and all related software components in the correct order and reinstalled version 10.5.3. I have been through the 5 R's numerous times but still the iPod is not being recognised in iTunes. I have Windows XP, I'm tearing my hair out now so any help or suggestions would be great

Ipod Touch 4th generation 32G not turning on, not charging.
I have used multiple cords on both computer USB and wall USB converters. I let it sit there for over 20 min with each attempt.
It is not being detected by Itunes or my Windows 7 64bit OS. I have tried all 4 of my USB ports (both USB 2.0 and 3.0), with 3 different chargers.
Holding home and power button will not reset.
Tried taking it out of "DFU" mode but Itunes won't detect it, I didn't think that would work anyway.
NO DAMAGE, I have been very careful with it, aside from a few minor scratches. (that you can't even see unless the light reflects them)
My Itunes is up to date, as is my OS.
All I'm getting is a blank black screen. It has been working fine on this computer before. I have no idea what could have happened. I'm at my wits end here.See if you missed anything here:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPhone 6 and iPod Touch 5 not being detected by iTunes 12
iPod 5 and iPhone 6 is not being detected after I downloaded iTunes 12.1.2
Tried changing the lightning conductor, that didn't help either.
Re-installed iTunes but it was of no use. :/See iPhone, iPad, or iPod not recognized in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

IPod not being recognised in iTunes
Hi all
I sold my iPod on eBay and, as far as I could tell, it was working perfectly when it was sent off. The buyer has sent it back to me claiming it wasn't being recognised in her iTunes and to my surprise it's now not being recognised in mine. I plug in the iPod and it charges through my Mac but does not become recognised in iTunes at all. Does anyone have any ideas as I am going to have to refund the buyer AND the iPod seems caput so it would be great if I could get it working one way or the other. Thanks so much in advance.I tried what you suggested but it didn't seem to work for me. When i started the error check nothing happened, the bow for checking errors closed immideiatly after i clicked start. Did you do anythig else before checking the drive for errors, like put it in disk mode?

Iphone 3gs not being recognised by Itunes 10.1.2 on my Imac
Hi all,
This seems to be a common problem but all the posts that say they have succeeded don't work on mine. My problem started when my iphone was not being recognised. I did everything re-installed itunes, restarted computer etc and I finally went into DFU mode. Itunes recognised then but said it needed to be restored. At wits end i did this, now i have no phone as itunes wiped everything but since it wont recognise it again i cant get the phone past the connect to itunes/emergency call screen. I also tried deleting the file "com.apple.usbmuxd.plist~orig" but i cant seem to find it where they said it would be. If i can find this file apparently this will help me but it simply not there.
Really hope that someone might have an answer that will work for me because i really need my cell phone back
P.S I have the latest itunes and Mac OS X 10.6.6In this article about your device not being recognized in OSX, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1591 ,it is mentioned, that
In some cases, you may need to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service.

IPod touch not being recognised by iTunes, recognised in "My Computer"
Hello,
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, I have iTunes 10.
I have tried restoring the iPod touch, I have tried switching it on and off. I have tried with each USB port, my security settings are fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, I have restarted the computer. I have reset the ipod.
It has still not been recognised by iTunes.
What can I do to get the iPod touch to be recognised by iTunes?
vvv on "My Computer" at the bottom I can see this. Here I can access my DCIM folder, which contains some photos and videos.
iPod information; Version: 5.1.1 (9B206) Model: MD057BT
6GB 4th Generation
Thanks,
Aimee. So the Apple Mobile Device serviced is installed and running on your system? You tried to uninstall and re-install iTunes and all Apple related software?

Simply responding yes doesn't do much to help. We need as much detail as we can get in order to help you troubleshoot this issue. Otherwise, we are just pulling at straws.
