Sony Ericsson's limits in Contact fields

I just purchased a Sony Ericsson z610i and have synced my calendar and contacts. I found one big disappointment with my contacts, but perhaps I'm missing something. If I have a 2nd line in the "street address" field in my Apple Address Book, or if my street address is too long, it gets "cut" in the SE phone. Is that a limitation to the contact fields in SE? No 2nd line allowed? Only so many characters in the street address? Obviously, partial addresses are worthless.

Hi,
I have a SE z710i. I am having some issues as well.
I was wondering if you have problems syncing contacts which don't have a first or last name, but do have a company name.
Once I look through my phone on these contacts, I see "No name" as the listing.
Is there a way get the phone to display the company, in these cases?
Any help appreciated.

Hello!  I have a Sony Ericsson C905a. ATT client. Need to transfer phone book with every things related to each Phone number :  address, DOB e mail address, etc. To iPhone 5. What would be the easy way to do that ? Thank you! Igor.

the easiest way would be to take it into your carrier. they have tools that easily transfer contacts from one type of phone to another

  • Sony Ericsson K800i limited compatibility

I've tweaked the .plist files to include my K800i (which I've inserted as K800, not K800i), but when I receive an incoming call on my SE and get the pop up window in Address Book to divert to Voice Mail, Log Call, SMS Reply etc., when I click on one of them they do nothing (except for SMS Reply which duly drops down the field for my message). Am I missing something?
    Many thanks, people.

Nobody outside of Apple knows when or if they will update iSync. Currently the are phones over 8 months old still waiting to be officially supported by Apple.
However, you can sync your K800 now using an iSync 2.3 Phone Plugin available from here:
    http://mobile.feisar.com/phoneplugins23.html
You must be using Bluetooth, no Sony Ericsson phones can be synced by USB.
If you don't have Bluetooth in your Mac, you should purchase a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth Adapter - these are the only ones supported by Apple.

  • Sony Ericsson  Sync Issues

    Hi,
I'm having problems when I synchronise my Sony Ericsson phones with iSync. On 1st sync the address book and calendar sync ok. However when I come to sync again, any entries in my phone that have a contact picture, get deleted on the phone, but remain in the Apple Address Book etc. How can I stop iSync from deleting these entries? At the moment I am not letting iSync sync my addresss book to my phone, to prevent it from deleting vital contacts
    Many thanks

  • How do I transfer my contacts from a Sony Ericsson to an IPhone 4

How do I transfer my contacts from a Sony Ericsson to an IPhone 4? I have created a .vcf file but not sure how to transfer!

Are you using a Mac? Import the .vcf file to the Apple Address Book, switch to iTunes, and choose to sync your contacts.

  • Sony Ericsson P990i what fields?

    Hi
    Just received my P990i
When Apple get arround to letting iSync work with it, what fields can I expect to come over from Address Book.
Have many enteries with lots notes, will they come across?
    Many thanks

How can anyone know the answer to this question, until the P990 is supported by iSync?
I can only guess that all fields will be transferred, as they are on other recent Sony Ericsson phones.
However, until the P990 is supported, that is just a guess.

  • Contact fields mapping

I am working with an Imagio that is connected to an Exchange Server for email
When the contacts are listed, the persons name is blank, but it shows that there is a contact
If I drill into the contact information, it shows all the pertinent information, name, address, email address etc.
But the listing does not show the name, only a blank entry it looks like.
I spoke with Verizon tech support and they seemed to think it was a mapping issue.
However, there are some of the entries that are in his local Outlook contact listing that ARE showing up.
I'm not sure why some show up correctly and some don't.
Any ideas on how to resolve the mapping of the fields coming from Exchange?
    Any ideas are welcome!
    Thanks
    Mark

  • Where is the Nickname contact field stored in Outl...

On the N80 you can add a nickname field to a contact which is used by the voice control system instead of the full name.
If i syncronise then view all the contact fields in Outlook, I can't find a nickname field.
    Where is it stored?
The same applies to the contact group info.
My reason for asking is it would be much easier to edit this info on a pc.

  • DST iCal bug (at least for Sony Ericsson mobiles)

The recent Daylight Savings changes caused a baffling bug to show itself. I keep my phone's calendar (Sony Ericsson K610i) synchronised with my iCal calendar. This includes my timetable for the academic term, with about 13 weekly recurring events.
As the term starts in September, they straddle the change in daylight savings, so when the change occurred, all these recurring events appeared an hour earlier on my phone than in iCal.
I thought this was a time zone issue, but no amount of fiddling with time zone and DST settings on the phone resolved this. Eventually, I realised they were recurring, and moved the first occurrence of each event after the DST change in iCal, selecting "Update All Future Events", then moved them back. Suddenly on synching, they're correct (though only after the DST change — a well-known limitation).
This meets the definition of a bug in my mind, and should be resolved automatically by iCal/iSync. I hope that Apple will do something about this, as I couldn't find any explanation of this at all.

This has always been the case, for all Sony Ericsson phones, and neither Apple nor Sony Ericsson seem willing to fix it through years of different handsets and updated versions of iSync.
Basically, all you have to do when the clocks change, is change the Daylight Savings setting in the phone accordingly, and re-sync.
Everything will then be fine right up until any events after the next clocks change - so you're good for 6 months anyway!
I've also fiddled with all the internal options within the iSync (not accessible through the interface), and nothing works satisfactorily there either. It's possible to disable time zone support completely, but then you have to just change the time on the phone, instead of the Daylight Savings setting, so it's no easier than just re-syncing.

  • Places doesn't show up for geo-tagged photos from phone (Sony Ericsson)

So I have a Sony Ericsson T715, which has triangulation geo-tagging for photos, I can see their location through the phone no problem.
However, when I import them via the Bluetooth File Browser to my Mac and import them into iPhoto '09, their location does not show up the photos seem to hold no information on this.
Why is this? How should I import them so that this information stays? (Was a reason why I bought this phone.)
I tried looking at the phone/importing through Image Capture, but it doesn't seem to work... keeps randomly opening iPhoto and showing nothing. In Image Capture it shows the photos, but I can't import them - just says it's importing, but does nothing in the end.

No one but the people who made the phone if the data is not there then it is not there and it is not an iPhoto issue - it is a phone issue - their tech support is the place to go
iPhoto handles correctly formatted Geo Date in the correct EXIF fields - getting it there is the soure hardware's job
    LN
PS threadjacking is not the best way to get answers even if it is an iPhoto question - new threads that are on the subject are much more successful

  • How to fetch all the contact fields using Office365 REST API

When I request for Contacts using webservices URL, Office365 returns only some specific fields (even though contact record has lot more fields). Is there any way so that I can fetch all the fields in contact record?

Currently the REST APIs are limited to the fields you see now. We're constantly working to add more features though, so that might come in the future.

  • Sony Ericsson Z550i doesn' t work with Salling Clicker

    Hi,
I have a Sony-Ericsson Z550i, I downloaded a plug-in to make it work with iSync, but this portable phone doesn' work with Salling Clicker althougth its name is included in the Salling Clicker' s List of phones.
Is there someone who can suggest me what should I do to make my phone work with Salling Clicker?
    Thank You in advance,
    Alberto

Why don't you contact the author of Salling Clicker? That's the obvious place to go to for support of a product you've purchased, especially as its not an Apple product.
