  • ISync 3.0, Mac OS 10.5.2, Sony Ericsson w850i device not supported

I have a MacBook Santa Rosa that came with Leopard. I want to use iSync 3.0 to synchronize my address book with my Sony Ericsson (SE) W850i. My phone is on the Leopard feature bragging list: http://www.apple.com/macosx/features/isync/
Yet, when I pair my phone to the MacBook via Bluetooth and try to add the device in iSync, it finds the phone and then I am told that "This device is not supported by iSync."
So today I updated to 10.5.2. No change. The Feisar plug-in won't even download. It reminds me that my phone is supported in Leopard. So what gives?
I have tried unpairing and re-pairing, deleting the connection from my phone, restarting my MacBook, turning Bluetooth on and off on both devices, and resetting the iSync History.

    Copied from another thread in which I replied, perhaps it may offer some insight;
After setting up WinXP Pro under Parallels and installing/running Motorola's software, I was able to finally add contacts to the phone. But this wasn't easy. I first exported vCards from Apple's Address Book and imported the same into Outlook's Addresses. Motorola's software has a pretty straightforward interface, but isn't perfect. In order to "Save Changes", it was necessary to unplug and re-plug the phone to complete the process. During all this, the Motorola software unexpectedly quit a few times.
But here's the kicker; after all this work, I thought to give iSync one more try... and it worked!!! I cannot explain how or why it suddenly recognized the phone, but imagine it has something to do with the fact the Motorola's software update is the key.

  • Sony Ericsson w580i

Using a powerbook g4 with os 10.4.11 and isync 2.4
When syncing my Sony Ericsson w580i cellphone with mac AddressBook, the data from AddressBook gets transferred correctly over to the cellphone but, new data I had entered manually into the cellphone does not get synced back over to AddressBook. Isn't the syncing supposed to work both ways?
    All for now.
    Marc

Yes, syncing is supposed to work in both ways.
As the Sony Ericsson W580i is not natively supported by iSync, I would suggest contacting the providers of the plugin you are using for assistance. They should be able to advise you.

  • Connect to Sony Ericsson W580i via USB

I want to be able to connect my Sony Ericsson W580i to be able to transfer music files to the music player.
The first time I tried, it appeared on the desktop, but ever since it has not worked.
    Can anybody help please?

Your mobile handset is supported, but like all other supported devices with the exception of those manufactured by Motorola, you can only synchronize using iSync via Bluetooth.
If your computer does not have built-in Bluetooth, you can add it by purchasing a D-Link DBT-120 USB Bluetooth adapter. This is the only device explicitly supported by Apple for such applications.

  • Sony Ericsson W8 is not on

my mobile sony ericsson w8. is not  on.  no led light, no vibrate, no charge and update back buttion is not work.. pc connecting not detect device...  My phone is dead. please help me?

Unfortunately it's not possible to repair/update this phone via PC Companion anymore. You could contact your local Xperia support to get information on how to send in the phone to a service center. See my signature for contact info.

  • Remote update service on sony ericsson G502 does not work

I have a Sony Ericsson G502.  The phone has a problem  which causes it to restart when I am on a call.  Sometimes it just restarts on its own.  I searched on the net and found that other people have also seen the same issue and I believe a software upgrade will fix the problem.
I dont have the usb cable of the phone so I cannot do the upgrade using the 'Update Service' software from the pc.  I tried doing a 'remote update service' from the phone in Menu-->Update Service-->Search for Update, but it just says that your phone is running the latest software.  The current software version on my phone is 1203-8254 R1FA031 080512.  Is this the latest software available?  I have bought the phone 2 years back (but used it sparingly), and I am not convinced that there is no update to this software.
Please suggest a way I can upgrade this phone?  I like the phone, but this restart problem makes the phone very unreliable for everyday use.   Kindly help.

Your best bet is to get a USB cable and update the software with SEUS on your PC.If, as the remote update service tells you, you already have the latest software, you can only re-install the software via PC anyway.Alternatively, you can perform a master reset on the phone and see if that fixes the problem.Hope this helps.

  • Sony ericson suite does not support sony ericson W150 yendo phone

sir can anyone help me with this problem....why can't the latest sony ericson suite don't support yendo phones....and why does yendo phones, being removed at the phone choices here at sony ericson....

The Yendo simply doesn't have a full PC interface, so it's not supported by PC suite/companion, similarly to other phones such as the W395.

  • New Sony NEX-F3K - RAW not supported?

I JUST bought a brand new Sony NEX-F3K thinking that the .ARW format would be compatible (Apple lists the NEX family .ARW format as compatible).  Has anyone else found that this format is not supported?  I just want to make sure I'm not missing something.

.ARW is not a format.  It's a family of formats.  RAW files are goofy this way.
If the camera is not expliclitly listed on the Aperture page (by name), it's not supported and likely won't work.
If you want to know if or when it will be supported, that's something nobody here can answer.  Apple doesn't release any information like that, despite many people here asking ;-)

  • Sony pj650 says accessories not supported when trying to use Sony ecm-gz1m gun/zoom microphone.

The sony ecm-gz1m says it is compatible with cameras that have the multi interface shoe but when I plug it in it says accessories not supported.

    Hi duszac,
    Welcome to the Sony Community!
The ECM-GZ1M microphone is indeed compatible with the HDRPJ650V camera. But the Zoom mode is not going to work. Please detach the microphone from the camera, check the setting of your mic, and change it Gun mode before reattaching it again. We recommend attaching the accessories while the camera is turned off.

  • Sony Ericsson W580i - Remove Dashes as Last Names

I used the iSync plugin from http://www.feisar.com to sync my W580i with iSync. Everything went well except for the fact that with contacts that I have input no last name in Address Book they display on my phone with the first name as expected and then a dash ("-") in place of the empty last name. How can I remove these dashes? I have read http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302470 but it just states what is happening. Anyone have a fix?

I'm afraid there's no further answer I can give.
Because iSync and the phone require First and Last name to be entered for successful syncing, there's no way to remove the dashes that appear in place of the empty last names. That is the way iSync works around the limitation of phones with a single Name field, rather than separate First and Last name fields.
If you choose not to enter data required by the phone and iSync, then unfortunately, you have to accept the (probably undesired) side-effects of that decision.
The solution is quite simple though, and as the Mac Address Book has many more fields than just First name, it makes sense to use them, especially if you happen to know 2 or more people who share the same First name. (It also helps to include people's last names in Address Book's data for when printing postal labels for instance).

  • AVD for Sony Ericsson

    Hello,
I am using the Eclipse editor, for Android SDK API level 15, and I have loaded in the Sony Ericsson add-on from:
    http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
According to the Eclipse log, the edk is found:
    Fetching URL: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    Validate XML: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    Parse XML:    http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
Found EDK 1.2 by Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, Android API 10, revision 1
    Done loading packages.
However, when I try to create an AVD using the Android Virtual Device Manager, the Sony Ericsson device is not found in the list of available targets.
Please note that in this most recent Android SDK level 15, the SDK Manager and AVD Manager are separate applications, thus making your documentation and instructions showing them as one single application here:
    http://developer.sonyericsson.com/wportal/devworld/technology/android/edk/overview?cc=gb&lc=en
    a bit obsolete.
    Can you please help me?
    Thank you.
    Edward Cerullo

    Hi,
    Thnks for your answer.
My problem is with step number 4 in your instructions. There is no option for Sony Ericsson in the "Target" dropdown menu.
This is what I did to install the Sony Ericsson EDK:
    1. Click Window
    2. Click Android SDK Manager (which in Android API 15 is now a separate option from previous versions were SDK and AVD were together)
    3. Click Tools
    4. Click Manage Add-On Sites
    5. Click the Add button
    6. Add http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    7. Click the Close button, which returns me to the Android SDK Manager screen
    8. Packages start loading, and the log shows:
    Fetching URL: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    Validate XML: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
    Parse XML: http://developer.sonyericsson.com/edk/android/repository.xml
Found EDK 1.2 by Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB, Android API 10, revision 1
    Done loading packages.
    What am I missing here?
    Thank you.
    /Edward
