Sony Ericsson W900i and Adressbook SMS

Hi Guys!
I cannot get my Adress book to SMS with my SOny Ericsson. Is there a way to get this to work?
Regards
Mike

I can answer this question by myself and confirm that this hack is working. Simple to apply also.

Deleted my original reply. I misread your message and thought you said W600i. Had a solution for that one! Have a look at this page anyway. It might help you out:

http://cnn.cn/shop/sonyericsson-k800i-c-28_168.html You can order the LCD screen for the K800 from here--I've used them before and their service is excellent. There are also some P1i spares on the same website. As far as I know, SE doesn't actually supply such spares.

  • Sony Ericsson K810 and MacBook?

I'm looking at getting a K810 as my next mobile phone and wondered if anyone has any experience of how well this works with Bluetooth-enabled MacBooks.
I'm keen to get G3 data connectivity as the GPRS on the Nokia 6230i I'm currently using is slow and flaky, with frequent dropped GPRS connections even in areas of strong signal.
Any comments/advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

I've got the phone but can't get it to connect. I had trouble getting the phone to use Orange Internet but got an update SMS from the Sony Ericsson site which fixed that, so the phone goes online OK and it pairs with MacBook fine. I ran the Bluetooth Setup from the laptop and it picked the Ericsson Infrared script by default, which didn't work at all, so I got Ross Barkman's Modem Scripts for Sony Ericsson 3G phones but can't make it work with any of them (CID 1 to 5). Some fail after a time-out with no apparent activity from the phone, others go right through to the 'Establishing connection' and 'Authenticating User' stage in the Bluetooth pane of Internet Connect and then the phone reports 'connection failure, check settings'. I got it to work once, using the CID 5 script but when I tried again it went back to the symptoms above.
    Any suggestions please?

  • Sony Ericsson w300i and iSync 2.2

I am the owner or a brand new Sony Ericsson w300i. This is a clamshell model of the popular 'walkman' brand cell phones.
Unfortunately, iSync does not recognize this phone. Does anyone have information on how to add support for this phone, or when an iSync update may support it?
    Thanks.

Replying to my own question. Seems you can get the w300i to work with iSync by following the directions here:
    http://mobile.feisar.com/z530isync22.html
Once you install that plugin, find the MetaClasses.plist file and modify it so that "W300" replaces all occurrences of "Z530". Then start iSync and everything should work (you may have to pair with the phone first).
I believe this works since the W300i is derived from the Z530.

  • Sony Ericsson W810i and iSync 2.4: "can not connect to this device"

I am using Mac OS 10.4.11 and iSync 2.4, which I believe are the most up to date versions. My Sony Ericsson W810i is shown as being compatible with iSync as shown on the iSync support page, but while I try to add the phone to it I get the message:
    "W810i
iSync can not connect to this device".
Does anybody have any ideas how to sort this problem? I've tried restarting both my computer and phone before trying again.

I finally figured out how to fix this problem. The mobile phone had to be initially added by the computer under Bluetooth to pair them before adding the device to iSync. Adding the computer as a device to the phone to pair them, as I had been doing, didn't allow it to work with iSync.

  • Sony Ericsson K800i and MacBook... How can I can connect to the web?

    Hi guys,
I've recently bought a new K800i Sony Ericsson. I set up bluetooth with my MacBook and everything's ok, but... I cannot connect to the web with my MacBook via K800i as a modem. Do you have any suggestions how to deal with the problem? I don't know... I mean special scripts, settings, and so on.
    Thanks a lot

Do you have the downloaded Modem files from the website (or possibly cd that came with it)?
I bought a SE K750i this summer and it has the same ability, and I went and downloaded a bunch of stuff off the website as my product was an international one and the Manual that came with it was in French. So I got my modem file at the same time.
It doesn't show where you are located, but if you are in the USA and your phone is an international one as well (the i usually stands for that) then you would probably want to hit up the UK version of the Sony Ericsson Website to find any possible downloads for it.

  • Sony Ericsson z520a and Mac dialing

Hello, all, looking for some insight. Just got in my Sony Ericsson z520a, replacing my old Siemens S56. I'm very happy with the Bluetooth performance of the z520a, including its compatibility with Salling Clicker, but I've noticed that the one function that I haven't been able to do with this new phone that never gave me a problem with the S56 is dialing from my Mac.
I've tried using Address Book and I've tried using BuddyPop, and neither seems to work. In fact, the functionality within Address Book seems to be parallel with the main bluetooth connection (i.e. if I'm paired, then the Address Book bluetooth toggle doesn't want to turn on).

There is no entry for the Z520 in the address book device command sets. The command sets file is this file:
    /Applications/Address\ Book.app/Contents/Resources/Telephony.bundle/Contents/Resources/ABDeviceCommand Sets.plist
To edit in TextEdit from Terminal (Applications->Utilities->Terminal), triple click and copy, then paste in Terminal the following:
    open -a textedit /Applications/Address\ Book.app/Contents/Resources/Telephony.bundle/Contents/Resources/ABDeviceCommand Sets.plist
type a return right after <array> and then copy and paste this text at the new blank line:
    <dict>
    <key>ABAnswerPhone</key>
    <string>ata</string>
    <key>ABAnswerWaiting</key>

    </dict>
and then save and close the file. If Adress Book is running, quit it. Start Address Book and click the Bluetooth icon if it isn't already blue, you may need to accept the incoming connection on your cell phone. This should work for all the new Sony Ericsson phones, K750 W550 W600 W800 W810 W900 Z520

  • Official Sony Ericsson P990i and W950i Phone Plugins

Sony Ericsson have finally released two very long awaited iSync Plugins:
    Sony Ericsson P990i
    Sony Ericsson W950i
No sign of M600 or P1i yet.

I had that problem, too. But I figured out a work-around. You just have to sync your data in small "chunks". In Addressbook, create a new group called e.g. "sync". In iSync you will only sync this group. Move a couple of contacts to this group, sync it, move some more, sync, etc. Do that until you synced all of them. Once finished, you can set iSync to sync all your contacts.
Do something similar for iCal data. Sync just one or a few calendars at a time and restrict the dates with the "Options" in iSync.
There are some issues, though. All-day events become events with a duration 0:00h-0:00h, some contacts get duplicate entries of some data (phone numbers, email addresses etc.) etc. The problem is, that this malformed / changed data will be synced back to your mac, when you sync your phone next time. So make sure to back up your addressbook / ical data before re-syncing your phone.
It's pretty buggy at the moment, but I hope, these issues will be addressed either by Apple or SE soon.
Good luck in the mean time…

  • Sony Ericsson k800i and iSync wont be friends

hello, iam having a small issue, i recently downgraded to tiger from leopard and tiger is telling me that iSync isn't compatible with my phone K800i when on the web it says it is compatible, is there a way to upgrade isync? on my leopard it synced perfectly.

    To anyone who can help,
I'm not sure where else to post this, so i thought I'd try here. I just got a Sony Ericsson K790a (apparently same/similar to K800) and although bluetooth and iSync seem to work fine with this phone (using OSX 10.4.9) the removable storage features of the phone seem a little off. When I connect the phone via USB to a PC, it is immediately recognized as a drive (both in phone and in file transfer mode). However, with my intel iMac (home computer) it is another story.
When I connect the phone via USB, the phone does what it usually does on the screen, but nothing happens in phone mode or file transfer mode on the Mac (i.e. no drive shows up). When I restart the computer (set phone in file transfer on restart) and leave the phone connected, the drive shows up (and I imgine so would the memory card if I had one) and file/music transfers are fine so far as I can tell. HOWEVER, when I then try to eject the volume in Finder, the phone does not receive the "go ahead" and remains in a screen telling me I can't disconnect it. If I restart again, the phone has a brief period where it says it is safe to remove. This means that in order to transfer files to my phone with the Mac I'll have to reboot my computer twice (once to get the drive recognized, and once to eject it safely). Pretty frustrating/time-consuming.
Sony's people, although very friendly, have been incredibly unhelpful, telling me that it is definitely a Mac issue, they offer no support for Mac, nor articles in their knowledge base, or user forums for their products (so others might post a solution to what I imagine is not an isolated issue). I managed to find an article somewhere that said that they had an issue with drivers for the USB cable itself, however I tried installing both drivers he listed and neither changed anything.
Has anyone else had this issue or know anything about how to fix it? Is this normal or as good as it gets for these functions with the Mac? Anyone know of any third party apps (Adium, Crossover, etc) that might be interfering with these functions?
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can offer.

  • Sony Ericsson Phone and Service are pathetic

    All,
I know some one else would have gone through this pain...
Last October 2010, I ordered SE Xperia Mini Pro from a website. I was still exploring the features I found that one side of my ear phone does not work. I tried several other ear phones but still couldn't hear. So I opened a ticket. The agent confirmed that my handset is under warranty and SE will repair it.
Here is the history of the tickets I had to open with SE.

Finally after a month and big arguement they sent me a new phone - X10.
I used it for few days and update the software. After few days, the display died. Gues what I had to return it back.

This time it wasn't fixed at all. Same story. Same explanation. I sent it back.

    Waiting...
And I am still waiting for my phone.
I am at total lost. This handset comes with 1yr warranty and this whole year around I have been sending and receiving the phone from the repair centre. Now its close to its warranty expiration and I am not sure what to do. I wasted my money on SE. I have not thought of SE service being such pathetic.
Not sure who will answer me. Not sure if my phone will ever work. Not sure what the warranty will be on it. Not sure when SE will realize that their customers are suffering due to their bad phones and services.

  • Using Sony Ericsson w900i as GPRS modem on Vodafone UK

    Hi Folks,
I'm having real trouble using my w900i as a modem to connect to the internet. I can make the connection to vodafone's GPRS server and get an IP address. It connects fine but I am unable to load any web pages. There doesn't seem to be much receive activity.. There does however appear to be send activity. I have deactivated header compression and ppp packet echos but i am still having problems.
    Any ideas peeps..?

The best thing to use is a modem script you can get from
    http://www.taniwha.org.uk/
look through the list of available modem scripts for your model of phone and download it.
Then follow the readme that comes with the modem script.
I have been using Ross Barkmans modem scripts for years and they always work.

  • Sony Ericsson w880i and iSync

Hi, when arrive an official plugin for SE w880i in iSync?
    Tanks

Well, it took Apple nine months to add support for the K800i. So you could be waiting a very long time. There are also no guarantees that Apple will support any specific phones. They are encouraging third-parties to create plugins.
In the meantime you can get a Phone Plugin to sync the W880i now from here:
