Sony FDR-X1000v 4k 100mb compatible microSD cards?

Hi everyone, I purchased a PNY U3 64GB microSD card (P-SDUX64U390G-GE) from Amazon and it only does 60MB versus 100MB. Which card have you been able to use 100MB 4k video with? Brand and model number? Sony, if you're reading this, will there be a firmware update to allow for this other U3 cards to work with the FDR-X1000v? By the way, I do get 94MB/S read and 53MB/S write speeds with the the PNY U3 64GB microSD card. Thanks, George

Hi, When I select XAVC S 100Mbps, the word "media" flashes. I can only select 60Mbps without the word "media" flashing. It still doesn't work even though it's a U3 64GB card and the benchmark on my pc indicates that it meets the U3 standard. Any ideas? I have just found out I was using a Class 10 SanDisk microsdhc card, and am concerned that I may have done damage to my phone and/or music collection (as per Nokia guidelines). Is anyone able to tell me what the chances are that this will have damaged them, and if there's anything I can do to rectify? Thanks!

Sony.. WTF? You there? I guess you don't care about your 4K Action Cam models. I wanted to care. I wanted to love the new FDR-X1000V. But... I can't.... I am most likely going to sell my FDR-X1000V at a major $200 loss because... well... there are no firmware updates in the making.. sony doesn't care about us and they are basically making another Discman and no MP3 support.. yea we know how that went.. Discman what? yup... sony.. pull your f#@$#ing head out your ****** and make a group that works with us camera owners to get udpates in your firmware or ******.. give us a dev kit where we can try adding our own features or expanding on the feature set. Why the ****** can't i do a 4k timelapse on my 4K action cam? GoPro's can... so yea.. i wanted to move away from GoPro but.. your 4K cam just made me want to run back to them... ****** off and i hope your action cam dept FAILS... i'm done w/sony action cams forever... and everyone i know will hear about this.

So.. prior to this FDR-X1000V, i had been a hardcore GoPro guy.. sure, they had a few issues initially but GoPro was quick to update the firmware to fix battery drain problems, video quality and also add more features that we found useful. I really had loved what Sony seemed to be doing on the action cam front w/the previous AS series. At CES 2015 i saw news about the FDR-X1000V being released that could do 4K resolutions. I already had a GoPro Hero 3+ Black Ed but really liked the video stabilization features and the way better stereo audio. It is now about 2 months in and i'm selling my camera on ebay at a major loss beause i'm just annoyed w/the lack of forethrought into the planning and execution of this camera and it's features. OK Sony R&D; this is a free $50K consultation for free because you are going to lose this market even more as 2015 continues and you fail to connect with your hardcore action cam owners and fail to address our concerns/feature requests. 1. Power on and off via remote should have been implemented the moment this camera was even thought of. There is no way to power on the camera w/o pushing a button on the physical camera. Try doing that when you have it mounted on your car's bumper going 70mph a freeway. GoPro can power on camera via phone app and the remote. ALSO, this lack of a feature SHOULD BE MENTIONED ON THE REMOTE'S PACKAGING.. i assumed it would let me turn on / off the camera.. since well the gopro remote did... 2. Menus... have you ever tried using the menu system on the camera? first off, if i go to settings on a camera and make one change, I DON'T WANT TO BE TAKEN OUT OF THE MENU after i make a change. If i'm in the settings area, i'm probably making two or three relative changes. the liveview remote makes this much easier but man... horrible! 2b. Power Off option?? umm, how about holding down the PREV button to power off camera vs hitting Prev several times until you see PWR OFF on the lcd and then hitting Record to select. wow.. so cumbersome.... 3. Timelapses.. why aren't we allowed to take timelapses at the full camera resolution vs 1080P video clips made into jpgs? this lack of a feature is the MAIN reason i'm going back to gopro. I do tons of timelapses and the quality of my timelapses w/the Sony are so much lesser. 4. SPOT metering.. ever hear of this? or how about more manual controls for light exposure.. did anyone at sony take this camera and mount it in a car and do a POV video on a sunny day? probably not.. yea, you can't see a thing through the windshield, just the car's interior. 5. WAY MORE MANUAL CONTROLS!!! i'd love to try to leave the shutter open for 2 - 3 secs at night to get star/night sky timelapses.. nope.. 6. Finally.. listen to us users... we are your beta testers and power users; we use your products in ways you obviously have never. the action camera is a big product sect going forward and it's still pretty early w/two main competitors.. well.. actually really just one main and let's just say it isn't you... Sony Xperia Z2 maximum supported write/read speed for MicroSD Cards

I am looking to buy one microSD card for my Xperia Z2 Phone (6503). My question is: how fast it can write data to an SD card. For what I know, these speeds depend of SD Card controller. If I will know approximative numbers I can acquire adequate microSD card. Right now I am trying to decide between: SanDisk SDSDQX-064G-U46A Extreme Plus 64 GB - 80 MB/s SanDisk SDSDQUA-128G-G46A Ultra 128 GB - 30MB/s Writing speeds for these microSD Cards are half of indicated reed sped numbers. I like 128 GB capacity of Ultra Card, but will not hesitate to buy faster 64 GB Extreme Plus Card.

If you use 4K recording like features, you might need to get a high speed SD!(go for the Maximum speed you can)
So I think Extreme plus would be better in this case, but if your phone is everything for you (just like me) use the maximum capacity (Which has a better speed as well, otherwise useless) I use a class 10 128 GB!
As far a I know, I think even 30 MBP will be enough for a 4K video!

Lumia 1520/AT&T: What is the best MicroSD card opt...

I am writing to the Nokia forums because I have a doubt on which 64gb MicroSD card I should buy for my Nokia Lumia 1520 (AT&T model). I want to use this card for photos and video recording at 1080p up to 30FPS.
Doing some research, I found that for best results I need a Class 10 MicroSDXC card if I don't want the video to skip during the recording if writing the video directly to the card as I record. Apparently I also have to look for the UHS-1 designation aside from Class 10.
Therefore, I went shopping around in Amazon.com and I have narrowed down my choices to the following three cards.
Sandisk 64GB Class 10 UHS-1
Transcend 64GB MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-1
Sony 64GB MicroSDXC Class 10 UHS-1
Out of the three choices which one provides the better option? I am leaning towards the Transcend MicroSD card, but would like to get a feedback from Lumia 1520 owners.

No luck DLing music on my Centro microSD card

I just purchased a Kingston 4gb microSDHC card, which I understand should be compatible with the Centro (verizon).
I upgraded the Centro to the latest software version 1.03.
I tried downloading one song into PocketTunes v. 4.0.4 following the user manual, through WMP.
The first song loaded onto the microSD card, but once I switched to the phone app and then back to PTunes, a message said that "The card that contains the song has been removed".
I then tried formating the card on the Centro, and it said it could not format the card. I used a card format program to format the card on the PC, and that wiped out the one song that DLed.
I tried DLing other songs using the Sync cord, and it said it was successul but I see NO songs on PTunes.
Did they load onto the phone, eating up memory? I can't find them. If they are on the phone's memory, how do I delete them?
Any ideas on what's wrong and why I can't get the music onto the files?

Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
If the songs are on the card, you might just need to refresh the library listing in PT. Depending on what "skin" you are using, either tap the music note icon in the lower left of the screen on the Sleek (Blue) skin, or tap the Open button on the built-in skin. It should scan your card and present you with a list of songs that it finds. Songs should be located in the /audio folder of the card. I've never used Hotsync to move songs to the card, but rather I use a USB card reader and just drop them into the /audio folder on the card.

N79 to C7 microSD card

Using a 16GB microSD card in the N79 at the moment but have a C7 on order. Can I just use it with the C7 as it has a lot of data on it or do I need to format it and start from scratch? (Saving data first of course). TIA

I would strongly recommend that you copy all the data to a PC/Mac, keep all the Music/photos/videos files on the memory card and delete all the other folders from the card except the ones containing those items.
reason is that you will have applications, applications settings and maps data installed on the card which won't really be compatible with your C7 and will most likely make a bit of a mess of your new phone.

SDHC microSD card 16gb work with Apple SD card reader

Is a 16gb MicroSDHC card able to be used to upload photos from my camera to my iPad Mini 2 using an Apple SD Card Reader? When I try, it says no photos found. I don't know if the problem is the card or the file structure on the card. The camera is a Samsung Smart Camera 2 and the file structure is DCIM>Camera>YYYYMMDD_HHMMSS.jpg. I have seen on other posts that the DCIM sub-folder should be 8 characters and also that the photo file names should also be 8 characters plus ".jpg". Is the file structure the issue or the MicroSD card.
note that I have no problem with an SD card written by a Nikon D90.

I downloaded a bunch of ringtones and I can find them if I go to "Files/ringtones" on my microSD card, but when I try to use one in Settings/sounds/phone ringtone they are not there. I can't figure out how to use them. Can anyone help?? Thanks!

When I go to Music app, the ringtones aren't in the list of artists/songs. They are stored in the ringtones folder so I don't think they would show up in the Music app.

How to burn DVD-footage Sony FDR AX-100, using FCP 10.1:

I just purchased Sony FDR AX-100 video camera, will be importing to Final Cut Pro 10.1 to edit. My intent is to film in highest quality (4K), edit, and then burn on to DVDs for family. They all have different devices to play back the video - PC, Mac, DVD player. From reading some other posts about this issue, I get the impression that I can not burn a DVD (using a DVD-R disc) of 4K edited footage? i.e.: the only way to view back the video would be connecting my Mac Book Pro directly to a High Def tv via HDMI cord? Thank you for any clarification you can provide!

The original video footage is so incredibly sharp, clear, smooth, etc, and I want their viewing experience of it to be as good as can be... but unfortunately I have to keep in mind that they all have different devices by which they will view it (PC, Mac, HD TV with DVD player, etc). in many countries to make phones seem less expensive
carriers pay most of the phones price for the customer
but this come at the cost of the phone only being able to work
with the carrier this is called a sim lock
the only people who can remove a sim lock is the carrier which
the phone is sim locked to they been doing it like that for at least 20 years

I am trying to upgrade my graphics card. I recently purchased a Zotac GeForce GTX 760 AMP Edition 2GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 DVI HDMI DisplayPort SLI Ready Graphics ... . I also installed the above mentioned power supply. I installed both and when I went to start the computer, I got the HP logo blue screen with a message saying to press ESC key for start up menu, however the keyboard was unresponsive. The hp logo screen changed but that was about it. Using the new card, I could get to the first boot screen, and to the hp logo, but then it would stay stuck on the hp logo. Also if I tried to press f10, ctrl + f or any key, I would just get a black screen and nothing would happen. I've read that this seems to be a common problem with the HPE models and the 700 series cards and have seen no solution. I have already arranged to return the card figuring it's either defective or not compatible with my system.
So after all that, I've tried for the last hour to get a list of compatible graphics cards to upgrade my system, and have not found such a list. I've found lists in the forums for other similar models, but I want to be absolutly sure before I make another purchase and have to go through all this trouble.
Any help would be appreciated and if more info is needed don't hesitate to let me know.

There are graphics card solutions posted on this forum. They may be hard ro find but they are psoted. It's good that you checked the BIOS settings in the posted HP links as sometimes they get changed thinking that this will work better. However, in the case for Windows 7 it's just the opposite.
You issue is not a driver problem. Check with the graphics card manufacturer for a remedy. If that particular card is video BIOS enabled for UEFI then you are stuck. You can either return the card or install Windows 8 in UEFI mode.
Another choice would be to try one of the below video cards that run in legacy or UEFI mode.

Is it possible to install an app obtained via a MicroSD card or Bluetooth?

Suppose I'm in an area where there is very little Wi-fi or other internet access (e.g. rural Papua New Guinea).
Or, an area where the internet is strictly controlled or monitored. So the Marketplace is not an option.
People around me are using their cheap cell phones to share photos via bluetooth, and music and videos via SD cards.
Question: can I also distribute an app via MicroSD card or Bluetooth?
I've tried this with some Java phones and found that installing an app from either of those sources is disallowed.
What about on FirefoxOS?
The Firefox OS web site says you can update the OS from an SD card.
One of the FAQ's at http://www.ebay.com/itm/ZTE-OPEN-C-3G-Unlocked-Firefox-Smartphone-Cell-Phone-Dual-Core-GPS-WiFi-AT-T-/291243074570?pt=Cell_Phones&hash=item43cf70a40a suggests that you cannot install an app from an SD card, at least on a ZTE Open C.
But I'd like to get more of a horse's-mouth answer, if possible.
Is this something that Firefox OS leaves up to the discretion of each phone manufacturer?
Or is it considered such a security risk that Firefox OS will not allow it on any phone?

Beyond the Firefox Marketplace, your options for distributing apps are unfortunately rather limited.
To my knowledge, Firefox OS does not support any Bluetooth/microSD card app installation. However, you can install an app to a phone by connecting the phone to a computer via USB cable. New BB Z30 Freezing, Docs are unable to Open, microSD card automatically formatted after restart, unable to open Some Pictures, Long time for Charging

I purchased a new BlackBerry Z30 recently from http://store.shopblackberry.com/store/bbrryus/en_US/pd/productID.298806900/categoryID.66826600/paren... and my Phone Model number is STL 100-5. I also purchased a Z30 Leather flip case manufactured by BlackBerry. I am using my BlackBerry Z30 along with the Z30 Leather flip case.
1) Within the first 2 weeks of receiving and using the new BB Z30 device, I noticed a problem of screen not responding some times. My phone has been freezed at the lock screen. My phone is not responding to any key except for the power button. So, I had an option of only restart/Turn Off my BlackBerry Z30 device. All the time whenever I had this problem, I have to restart my device in order to make it work properly again. I complained about this issue with BlackBerry Technical Support. They assisted me to reset the device to factory settings by taking a full backup. After reset also, I still had the same issue.
2) I am using Sandisk Extreme microSD card of 32GB with my BB Z30 device. Some times due to the restart option, all the data which I had on my microSD card is being erased and is filled with an unknown files.
3) I'm also unable to open some pictures which I have taken using BlackBerry Z30. As I observed, most of the pictures which I taken using Blackberry Z30 are unable to be open/view them after a few days. Still, I am able to observe the properties of those pictures. They are in JPEG format only.
4)Also If I create a Word Document on BlackBerry Z30 using Docs to Go Application and saved it. After closing that particular document and If I try to open it, the document file is not opening and projecting me an error of "This is not a valid .Doc file", but while I check the properties of that particular document it is in .doc format. I tried to transfer the file to my laptop using bluetooth. After a few seconds (approx 2-3 seconds) automatically the transferring is cancelled by the BlackBerry Z30 device. However, I tried to transfer the file within that short time using Bluetooth. While I tried to open it on my laptop using Microsoft Office 2013, the file is displaying with a squares of upto 4 pages while I had a content in it of 3 lines only. While I opened my file using Microsoft Office 2013, there is only squares available in that document.
5) My new BlackBerry Z30 is taking a long time of approximately 6-7 hours to charge the device from 10% to 100%

On 7th of Jan 2015 I made my device to factory reset. Also I removed microSD card from my device. As I observed for these 3 days, one time while I received a missed call, I tried to have a look at it. I observed that my screen has been freeze at the receiving call position and its not responding. I tried to close and reopened the display of my device with a flip case which I'm currently using for my device. At this time, after 3-4 swipes to unlock the device, again its back into working condition.
About Documents, I'm able to create, save and open the documents without any issues till now.
About Pictures, they are also working fine without any issues.
I also observed the charging time as approximately 3 hours for charging the device from 14% to 100%.
