Sony headphones or ipod???

im thinking in buy a sony headphones for about 40 dlls this model mdr-ex71 or 50´s version, but is there a big diferene between them or not??

Must admit, on getting my iPod the first thing I did was to hook up my Sennheiser MX400 earbud headphones. I've yet to find an affordable alternative that has as good a sound as these. I've had them for 2 1/2 years, not bad given all previous sets of in-ear headphones have lasted a max of 6 months a set!
Sony 'phones are always pretty good though. Often quite bass heavy which is good if you like that sort of thing!

  • How do I hook up Sony Headphones Model MDR-RF985R to a Panasonic TV Model Nbr TC-L37C22?

We purchased these Sony headphones for my 86 year old uncle.  He claims that the Audio output on his Panasonic TV is not compatible with the headphone cables.  We are miles away and cannot physically help him, but we are trying to assist by telephone.  Any help would be appreciated.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you for the instructions.  Apparently the instructions do not work with his TV because the audio ouput jack is a different type of connection on the Panasonic TC-L37C22.  We solved the problem by having him plug the headphones into the audio output on his PVR instead of the TV.

  • Sony Headphones Problem

Hi - my favorite Sony headphones have a small fray in the wire and aren't working out of the right earphone. I don't know exactly which model they are but I know they are the expensive athletic/running headphones with the ear wrap and white outside with orange logo.
I'm hoping I can send these back to get repaired since they are the best running headphones I have ever owned and don't want to have too find a new pair or go buy the same pair new since they were so expensive.
Can a SonyMod let me know the best course of action to take?
    Thanks!!

  • Sony TDM-IP1 iPod dock and iPod Classic

I'm interested in getting the Sony TDM-IP1 iPod dock to go with my sony AV receiver, but I need to know if it'll be compatible with my 80GB iPod classic. I checked the manual on Sony's site, and it says it's compatible with the 5G iPod video, but I think the manual was written before the classic came out. I also contacted Sony customer support, and they said that they haven't done testing on it's compatibility with the iPod classic. So does anyone know if this will work or not (both video and audio)?

I found the following comments on Amazon:
    +iSeries Rules says:+
+Ok, so I took the time to talk to Sony (2 hours on the phone) and Apple (1 hour on the phone) about this.+
+Sony tell me that the iPod classic has the same specifications for the connection port as the iPod 5th gen Video. So, they believe that the problem is in the iPod classic's firmware. They did say that they were going to get their engineer's to look at connecting a classic up to see why it is not working.+
+So, the Apple story. Apple looked at this and said that the classic's video out was slightly different than the 5th gen. But, after looking at it a little more closely, and looking at some of the products that Apple sell for similar functionality (video out to TV/Receiver), they then started to feel that there may be an issue with the hardware/firmware. They also indicated that they had received reports of the classic working with similar products, and then failing to work after a recent firmware upgrade.+
+Apple also indicated that they would contact their engineers regarding the connection to the Sony Digital Media port, and give reasons as to why it is not working, and whether there is some way to make it work.+
+I should hear back within the next few days (given that tomorrow is friday, it may be early next week).+
+Hopefully this matter will be resolved by a firmware update.+
+What was really dissapointing was I plugged in my friends 5th gen, and it worked a charm. So it can work...+

  • Best headphones for ipod nano 5gen 8gb music wise?

    Hi,
Just got my first ever ipod. I got the earbuds and am reasonably happy with them, but they do not provide the eardrum damaging bass and volume capabilities I require, even at full volume. I have tried my other pair of full sized Seinheisser headphones, which I use for my Sony Floor system and they have improved the quality of the sound immensely, but the volume has dropped right off. Any suggestions for maybe some mid sized earphones that will give me that high quality, and volume I need to for my dance tracks? Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks

It is a subjective issue, but thats what I got for myself

Make sure it is Westone 3 and not Westone UM3X (which is a monitor earphone)

  • High-End headphones and iPod cases don't match

I just received 4 cases for both my Nano and iPod Video. They were ordered sight unseen long ago. There's a terrifying trend here. iPod Lounge will only give high marks to cases that cover everything with little holes for access. And so 3 of my 4 high end headphones will not fit in the holes cut out for them in these new cases. The plastic molding is just slightly wider than the standard Apple phones.
Etymotic ETY 4p, Shure E5c and Westone UM2 are all super-fi headphones endlessly discussed on Head-Fi.com. Read about them and you will buy. None of them fit and they all share the same connector molding.
Does anyone know of a kind of adapter that would have a female end to receive these and a male end that would fit the standard opening? Of course they all work without a case just fine. It's only that the trend now is to restrict the size of the opening to just the Apple size.

that is what happens when you don't look at what your product (by the way, "sight unseen" usually prefers to a home or other property)

  • Best replacement Headphones for ipod

My family has seven ipods of different sizes and ages. We are constantly stealing each others' ear buds, losing them and breaking them. Every time I look for replacements, either Apple brand or 3rd party, it seems the reviews regarding quality are spotty at best.
What are the best options for replacing ipod ear phones?
    Thanks!

Well, the Bose In-Ear Headphones are pretty good, high-quality, but expensive and don't really help with the Classic's lack of volume.
I have two sets of headphones, both made by Skullcandy (available at Best Buy - at least that's where I got mine). One is their Over-the-Ear Headphones, which have a BASS-Booster built in, and the other is their In-Ear Headphones, which have a volume adjuster on the cord, which does boost the volume just a bit without losing any quality that I can notice.
And you can purchase BOTH sets of the Skullcandy headphones for the price of the highly-rated Bose In-Ear headphones. Personally, if you're looking for a new set of In-Ear Headphones ... I'd go with the ones from Skullcandy.

  • Wireless Headphones For Ipod touch 4g

    Hi,
I was wondering if you need an ipod adaptor to use wireless bluetooth headphones.
I have the new ipod touch 4g and i want to buy wireless headphones.
i was wondering, do i have to buy an adaptor .....since the ipod has bluetooth itself?
Also, what are the various things you can do with the bluetooth of an ipod touch 4g?
    Thanks for the help

Ipod touch supports bluetooth stereo headphones/speakers (A2DP) and some peer-to-peer apps.

You do not need an adapter for stereo headsets ( A2DP).

  • WHAT IS THE BEST CLOSED HEADPHONE FOR IPOD $50-70?

i have been looking at the Sony MDRV6, Sennheiser HD280, Sennheiser PX100, and Beyerdynamic DT 231. i have heard the Grado's in this price range are excellent as well but i don't really like open ear headphones. i need something good for the airplane and mowing the lawn.
    anybody know whats just right?

I don't know about "best" since everyone will have their own opinion, but check out these.
    AKG K27i.
Closed back, excellent sound quality, and I bought them for the same reason as you, for airplane use.
I normally use the Sennheiser PX100s (which are open backed by the way, not closed), but they let in too much outside noise if you are not in a quiet environment.
You could also check out PX200s which are closed back, but a bit bright in the top end for my taste.

  • Plug In Headphones then iPod Freezes...

I'm having a strange problem that is really annoying me because it makes my iPod of no use. Whenever I plug in any headphones, speaker, headphones that came with the iPod everything will slow down (like the album pictures scrolling by on the main menu) and then lock up. If I push buttons I can hear a beeping. If I had music playing before plugging in anything it will continue to play until I press a button and then the iPod is locked again. I have to use the Middle button + Menu reset to get it working again. I have tried what support for iPod Nano page told me and that didn't work. I have restored the iPod twice and that still didn't work. I'm at a loss for what to do right now. Is there something that I can do to fix this?

Does the same thing happen when you plug the ipod into the usb connection? If so, your headphone jack is shot and you need a new one.
