Sony HT-CT100 Remote

I recently bought a floor model Sony HT-CT100 Remote that did not come with the remote.  It works for the most part with my Universal Remote but I'm unable to change the Audio Modes listed on the Sony Website:
Sound Fields : 3 Movie Modes (CINEMA/SPORTS/GAME)
2 Music Modes (MUSIC/PERSONAL AUDIO)
1 A.F.D. Mode (STANDARD)
Any advice on where I can get a replacement remote?

Go to Sony's website and type in the model number of your product in the search window and that should bring up the model. Look under parts or repair.

  • ATV and Sony RM-AX4000 Remote

Has anyone been successful using the Sony RM-AX4000 remote with the Apple TV. When I try to get the Sony Remote to learn the Apple remote, I get an error basically that the sony isn't picking up the signal from the apple remote.
Any and all suggestions are appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Scott

If you have your ATV connected to your Sony TV by HDMI cable, check the settings on the TV for that input and make sure it is enabled. If the TV has a DVI connector or component inputs you could connect it with component cables or an HDMI to DVI cable to do the setup and run the audio separately.
You need to run the sync setup from the ATV before your iMac will recognize it. Unfortunately, you can't do that if you're not getting ATV video on your TV.

  • Does Sony make a remote for a CDP-CX691 300 disc changer

  • Sony A5100L PC Remote

    Hi Matthewt1501,
The Bulb mode enables you to shoot in prolonged periods of time, even exceeding 30 minutes as long as the shutter button continues to be pressed and held. Once you release the shutter button the shutter closes and recording or shooting stops.
To shoot time lapse recording using the Remote Camera Control program, set the camera to PC remote in USB Connect Setting, set the camera to M mode (for access to all shooting settings such as Aperture, Shutter Speed, etc.) and set the Shutter Speed to Bulb. Set the capture interval and press the shutter button in the remote when ready.
For further assistance with your concern, we recommend visiting our Sony Global Web site for information on contacting the Sony Support Center in your region at http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/.

    Hi, thanks for the reply.
I've done as you suggested. But camera tamera takes only a single shot of about a second, then waits until the next image is due and takes another of about a second. The only way the time interval settings work on the pc remote control is with the the exposure is set to the correct number of seconds which limits you to 30. It doesn't seem to work in bulb mode. Unless you manually hold the mouse over the shutter button on the remote control software. The interval timer settings don't seem to work.
Camera is in M mode, drive mode is single, exposure is is bulb, Iso is 250 and F3.5. Camera is set in pc control and connected via USB to a Windows 8.1 pc.

Have you already setup the HDMI input at the TV in the HDTV  menu?
It isn't a matter of using a proper channel.
You don't hold the P key.
Hold the Windows key down and tap the P key to see the available projection options.

  • Sony HT-CT100 sound bar with sub woofer

I just set up this system with my TV and I am getting very good sound, however nothing that even remotely sounds like surround sound.
Question:  I  connected my TV to the woofer with an HDMI cable.  I also have a satellite tuner connected to the TV.  Do I also need to connect the satellite tuner to the woofer?  Would this improve the sound ?  The satellite tuner cannot accept a HDMI cable but the instruction book tells me what kind of cables I would have to buy.
    Thank you very much.

You can plug the satallite into the sub woofer, however it won't make the 3.1 sound more like surrond sound. It will enable you to hear your satilitte through the soundbar. I agree with the above recommendation of getting an audio calabration, that will help make sure the sound is reaching all seating areas of the room, making it sound more like surround sound. Hope that helps

  • Help with Media Center & Remote

I Have MSI 180 with TV Tuner card and i have the CD´s for Mega180 and WinCinema, the problem was that after install Windows Xp for second time I Have LOST the paper bag with the code for MSI Media Center III, so i Can´t install it and I can´t install the remote control .
Someone can send me a valid serial for MSI MCIII or tell me how to install the remote drivers for using with another commercial version of Home Theater from intervideo? I have tried this but without the previous installation of the remote control i doesn´t work with it.
     Thank you.

nidgew - To get you started on the MSI remote journey you should read the sticky thread at the top of the forum called MSI Mega Series Girder plugin available.
Basically you have to get 3 things:
    1. The software tool called girder. I think they have a shareware version so you can decide if you like it or not before spending $$s.
    http://www.girder.nl/downloadn.php
    2. Get the MSI Mega plugin... pointer is in the sticky above
    3. Get the Media Player Classic extender. This has the keyboard shortcuts for all MCE commands. Here's a link:
    http://www.girder.nl/exportgr.php
    to the extender page.
You have to install all the above. Read the help files... Eventually you will have the extender set up. You then have to use learn or teach  mode to learn the remote codes you want to be associated with each of the MCE shortcuts. This takes some playing around to figure out how you want to map the controls to your MSI remote control unit.
I have spent quite a bit of time and made some modifications to the extender to support the mouse and a few other things.  If you want I can upload my version of the extender mapped with the Mega 180 remote codes.
I'm reasonably happy with this. Although the MSI remote is quite quirky. I actually use a Sony RM3000 learning remote to send the codes instead of the MSI remote. This works much better. But it is still a little weird compared to standard remote controls. However it is $0 extra if you already own the Mega.

  • I have a VZ320 REmote Comander - it lists ROKU with a code of 52371 - How do I enter these numbers?

    Hello Pam,
    Welcome to the Sony Community.
You may refer to “Startup Guide” section on page 1 of the operating instructions to set the manufacturer’s code in the remote.

I just bought a Sony RM-VZ320 remote which says it can handle Roku. I saw your conversation and I was trying to program it in, but which devise button do we assign it to? The code guide lists Roku under the Video Accessory list, but there is no corresponding button to assign the code. It's Not working with the DVD, DVR, VCR or AMP buttons when I enter the code 52371. Please help.  Thank you, - MrAgent93

  • Mega 180 slow remote / bluebird Bios update

    Hello,
I know this has been on the forums a number of times, but I could not really find a decisive answer...
I've read most of the people consider the Mega 180 remote control (like me) to be very slow.
but I've read some comments that flashing the LCD with the bios available for the trashed LCD's
seems to help with this. (making the remote work better / faster)
I this true ? I don't want to flash my perfectly good working LCD bios if it
doesn't help with the remote control.
    any information would be appreciated
    Thanks !

I have not flashed the bios so can't answer your question definitively... However here's some suggesitions..
To me the range and aiming  of the remote was the biggest problem.  Someone on the forums (don't remember who) found that the actual problem with the Mega 180 remote was that the sensor in the Mega was not mounted well. It was obstructed. FIxing that seemed to have quite an impact on the ability to receive the signal.
I  have not done that either...
What I did was to use a Sony RM3100 learning remote. This remote has 4 transmitters. It sends a very powerful signal. Using this I can point the remote 180 degrees away from the Mega at a distance of 12 feet and it still works.
So once I had a solid signal I didn't seem to have any major problems with the remote. There were several of the functions (like navigation) that a single push of the right button caused the cursor to move twice. I guess that could be a speed problem... The Sony remote has the ability to control the period of transmission and the pause before retransmission. Using this I was able to remove the double skip to the right.  Also Girder has a control ability to help tame this problem.
The ultimate work around is to not use the Mega receiver at all but add an MCE remote and receiver.
Bottom line is I and others have found work arounds with the crummy out of box remote situation  without flashing...
    Good luck

  • DVR620 incorrect aspect ratio when recording DVD or VHS

I have a DVR620KU connected to a Sony Digital LCD Bravia TV, Sony HT-CT100 Home Theater system and a Scientific Atlantic Explorer 8300HDC cable box.  I am using HDMI cables except for the connection from the "out" on cable box to the "in" on the DVR620.   When recording from a broadcast program or DVR'd(cable box) program, the picture on the TV while recording, and the DVD or VHS recording when played back, have letterbox like bars top and bottom and the aspect ratio for the picture is stretched.  I have tried eliminating the Home Theater system, but that doesn't help.  Other than that, things work as they are supposed to, including viewing a commercially recorded DVD.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

It does mean that the DVR620 is not the problem.
I don't have the same cable box as yours. Mine is an Explorer 4250HDC. Even if they were same, however, I believe different cable systems will handle things differently.
I'm on Time-Warner Cable in central NC. I have that big universal remote model URSU-8800L-TWR.
When I press SETTINGS, I get the Settings menu. On the bottom of the screen is Quick Settings. If I press right arrow several times, I get to High Definition. The choices are AutoHD, Picture Size, Aspect Ratio, and Output Resolution. The choices for AutoHD are on/off. I'm using on.  Picture Size are Zoom, Normal, and Stretch. I am using Normal. Aspect Ratio choices are 4x3 and 16x9. I am using 4x3. Output resolution should probably be 480i for recording to the DVR620. Note that on the NBC channel currently there is letterboxing on the top and bottom. There is no distortion or stretching. I don't see a way to avoid the letterboxing.
Part of the problem with making these changes is that they will affect all output from the cable box, so your HD signal to your TV might not be as good.

  • HDMI Switching issues

Hello, I've read numerous posts about HDMI issues with the ATV 3.x software.
Recently I bought a Sony HT-CT100 sound bar system which I was trying to use to switch all my HDMI sources. All the sources go into the sound bar, and the sound bar outputs video via HDMI to the TV.
I had frequent problems when changing sources, e.g. between my cable set top box and the ATV. Often it would appear that the ATV was rebooting, because I'd get the sliver apple logo for a period of time. Other issues are harder to describe objectively, but I can subjectively say that switching sources was never "clean"... it seemed that resolutions would shift, the screen would flicker in and out a few times- generally just not cool.
Unfortunately I got the sound bar after updating to 3.x, so I do not know if I would have had this problem with 2.x. I've never had a problem with 2.x or 3.x with the ATV connected directly to my new Samsung LCD. Short of waiting on an ATV update, is there any thing else to try? I really desire to have the ATV connected to my sound bar via HDMI for a number of reasonable reasons.
    Thanks in advance

I have the same issue. When the ATV was connected directly to my TV via HDMI all was well. I recently inserted an Onkyo receiver into the mix and connected all of my devices to the receiver VIA HDMI with the receiver acting as the HDMI switch.
Now, the ATV video will not come on when switching back to it. I can hear the menu dings if I play with the remote, but no video... All other devices work perfectly via the HDMI switch in the receiver. The problem is with the ATV unit... The only remedy to resolve this is to reboot the ATV unit... This is VERY FRUSTRATING to say the lease...
    Anyone have any ideas!!

  • Camcorder purchase

I plan to purchase the Sony HDR-PJ50V camcorder and video my lectures in HD. Most will be burned to DVD and maybe some will be sent out on Blueray disk.
The camera is listed as AVCHD. I have to use Sony with my remote tripod.
Could someone tell me what Sony means by; HD PS, HD FX, HD FH, HD HQ and STD HQ?
Which one should I use with FCE or FCP X?
    David

Could someone tell me what Sony means by; HD PS, HD FX, HD FH, HD HQ and STD HQ?
These are different video quality/length of recording settings in the Sony camcorder.  They are technically different data rates at which the video is recorded, but the main thing people look at is that each setting allows a different maximum recording time.  The tradeoff is more recording time = lower quality video.
But you also need to keep in mind that the quality is pretty high to begin with.  You would need to experiment with the different settings to determine whether or not you see any difference between them.
The user manual is your friend.  Check pp 28 and 63-64 for details on the differences between these video modes.
There should be no difference in FCE vs FCPX for a particular mode that you set your camcorder for.

  • FullHTPC capabilies

    Hi all,
I'm going to attempt to build my first HTPC hopefully uising the MEGA 180 Deluxe. I've got loads of questions as usual but I thought this is the best place to start.
    What I want -
    Basically a fully functional HTPC.
    Live TV
    Pause TV
    Record tv
    Schedule TV
    Play DVD
    Burn DVD
    Show pictures
    Play MP3
    Radio
    Hardware-
    Mega 180
    Barton 2800+
    512 ram
    Nec 2500A dvd writer
    160gig hdd
    PVR 150 haupaguge
I've been using MediaPortal on other main PC and I really like the interface very simple. Can anyone recoment a better software app that will do all the above. Whats MCE like, or my HTPC.?
Main questions regarding the whole HTPC is. remote fuctionality
I know I can get the software working and with the PVR150 mpeg encoding recording playback is not a problem. But i need this all to be controlled from the remote.?
Can the remote power on the PC not just the Hi-Fi mode.?
How reliabile is the girder plugin and would it be easy to get it to work with Mediaportal.?
Basically If i can use one remote I only want one remote.
Is there any compatibility issues with the PVR 150 and the MEGA 180- If there is then the mega is a no go as I need real-time mpeg recording.?
Anyone with any help would be much appericated.
    thanks,
    chris

Your configuration sounds pretty much like mine. I have the 180, Barton 2800+, 512 MB, and use on board sound and graphics. For TV I use an USB attched HDTV tuner from Sasem. I've had my system for about half a year and am quite  happy with it. That's the good news. The bad news  is it does take quite a bit of work to get to that state. And there are still several quirks that really bug me.
One of those is the main part of your question.... remote control.  The Mega remote can not turn on the computer only the HIFI. This seems really dumb to me. But that is the way it works. There are options like if you buy MCE with an MCE remote you can get that to power the system with much reading of forums and some registry patches.  I ended up with a remote keyboard that I leave laying on the couch. It is built for living rooms with handles and a built in track ball. To turn the system on I  hit the control  button. From there I can use my system remote control for most other things.
I  started using the Mega remote but ended up using a Sony RM3000 programmable remote to simulate the Mega. Girder is extremely reliable. I have really had no problems after getting it set up. However it did take several weeks of trial and error to get it working the way I wanted. So I use 1 remote for my TV, HDTV tuner, digital receiver, and Mega. But it is not the Mega remote.
The system is fast enough to do TIVO function on  HDTV without noticable pauses or delays.
There are 2 other major quirks that you will find plus lots of little ones.
    1. Temperature is not acceptable without doing the mods described in this forum.
    2. The Mega 180 frequently (twice a week) stops working correctly and needs to be unplugged from the wall for 10 seconds and replugged. THis fixes lots of things....lost audio, hang on boot, loss of card readers, loss of CD drive and there are probably others tha I am forgetting. Because of this I put the Mega on it's own power strip that is easy to access so I don't have to actually pull the plug.
    Good luck on your adventure

  • DVD not coming up automatically on TV?

DVD not coming up automatically on TV?
Just burned off a DVD and when I put it in my set-top DVD player it does not automatically open the 'menu' page on my TV.
With commercially bought DVDs as soon as I put them in the player, the TV channel changes and the default menu appears.
With my DVDSP project DVDs this does not happen, I have to hit the 'menu' button on my Sony DVD player remote control before I actually get the menu; otherwise it sits at whatever TV station it is at.
I've looked though all over DVDSP and can't find any setting in any of the menus/drop-downs etc in the software interface that suggest an option.
Does this make sense? if so, how can I implement the feature that makes the DVD menu come up automatically on my TV?

Okay, tried that, created a new track, put in a 5 second motion logo with the end jump set to main menu. But when I insert DVD into player, it doesn't automatically show. You have to physically push the 'menu' button on the remote control.
I can't understand it, why every other commercially bought DVD automatically switches the TV channel to the DVD channel and displays the main menu, but no matter what I do, it dosn't.
My DVD player simply says "loading' when I first put the disc in, then after about 8 seconds it just sits there with the usual time display on the DVD player??
I've had friends send me burned DVD discs (done on other programmes, not DVDSP) and theirs do the same as mine, they don't load up and open on main menu, I have to push the button on the remote, so I know I'm not the only one with this issue.
I want to nail it though as this is for a commercial DVD that is going to be replicated from Glass master.
    Any other ideas guys?
Will upgrading to FCP Studio 2 work; perhaps mine is bugged?
