Sony NSZ-GS7/GS8 - Google Talk Authentication Failed

I just did a factory data reset on my Sony NSZ-GS7/GS8 because I was having a couple of minor issues and the forums I read said a factory reset was the best option. Well after doing a factory reset all my issues were cured but I have a whole host of new issues. After it comes on I get an error message stating "Google Talk Authentication Failed" and the error details are (Google Talk failed to login. If this is a Google Apps account, confirm that Chat service is enabled for this account.) After I clear that error, I tried to download all my apps and the app updates for the apps installed from the “Google Play Store”. Immediately after clicking on the update button I get “error downloading “name of app etc…” I have tried a hard reset using the connect button under the device.I have tried clearing the data and cache in the Google Play Store, Google Network Frame Services, Download Manager, re-setting, rebooting, etc. etc. etc. Based on the error it’s got to be something with the sony/gmail account sign in. I have been all over the internet and I can’t find a solution. I love this device I’d hate to have to toss it and find something else. Plus I don’t wanna spend another couple hundred dollars. Please Help!!!Any ideas would be appreciated.Thank You in Advance

Attention akulac! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I called Sony back and raised a little ******. I told them everything about my units errors and what I've done to try and fix it and all the trouble shooting including what I went through contacting Google. I told them what you said in your post. And sure enough this is a known issue with this Sony model. My unit is 2 years and 10 months old and has been out of warranty for 1 year and 10 months yet, Sony is replacing my unit for free. Not repairing but replacing with a new unit. So for anyone else who experiences this issue contact Sony. It can't be fixed.

    Good afternoon!  I'm glad I can be here to help with this error. In the device this application is identified only as 'Talk', so that be more familiar to you. First I recommend opening the 'Market' app on your phone, then Menu>My Apps to see if this application requires an update. It will display a list on top of all applications that need to be updated. If nothing exists, tap 'Home' and go into 'Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Talk, then tap 'Clear Cache' and 'Clear Data' to remove the history of that application and stop the notifications.  The app will remain on your phone for future use, if you desire to take advantage of it.     Flash Player Doesn't Play on Some Websites. I can see the play button and volume etc but selecting play doesnt do anything on some websites. I have the NSZ-GS7 Sony Internet Player with Google Tv/Google Play. I installed the latest firmware and I believe it carries Flashplayer 10.2.164.113
    I can only watch some programs on au.tv.yahoo.com/plus7 . This website supports Flashplayer 10+ and also supports Google Play. So I do not understand why I cant watch. Do I just need to change some settings?
    Also, cant watch on www.jump-in.com.au/ and I can see a still image of the video, i can see the big play button in the middle but selecting it will not do anything.

    Hi Mike, Thanks for your response. Alteast you were able to give me a more educated answer. Unlike Sony Tech Support.
    I typed chrome://plugins" in the address bar but that didnt do anything and just gave me blank white screen.
    I did manage to get into the settings for Google Chrome another way and found the Plugins window but there was no option to "Always Allow". The only option I had was to either Enable or Disable.
    I read something somewhere about changing a setting for the Unsandboxed plugin to "Always Allow". But I havent been able to get to this plugin in the setting options in Chrome.
    Looks like I will be returning the product and getting myself an Apple TV device instead and use my Iphone to Airplay.

    After last upgrade to gnome 3.6 empathy fails to connect to google talk using GOA credentials.
    Of course I can configure a talk account directly in empathy but... I would prefer to use a single sign on (with gnome online accounts).
    Does any one has this same problem?... Any clues?

    I'm trying to login to Google Talk using my iMessage account, but I keep getting a message that says my password for Google Talk is wrong. Consequently I get emails from Google saying a failed attempt to login to Google Talk has occurred. What is the solution??

    Did you recently change your Google account so that "less secure" app authentication is turned off or setup two-step verification? You may have done this as part of a recent "Google Security Checkup."
    If so, you'll need to re-enable less secure apps, or if you use two-step verification, setup a single application password for Google Talk.

    Can you run a "teat aaa " command to see if the user can be authenticated successfully?
    I think this might be a configuration issue on NPS. You can google it. Here is one I found, refer to "irishHam" post.

  • 'Authentication Failed' for Adobe Content Viewer on iPad

    I could not sign in to Adobe Content Viewer on iPad using my Adobe ID? Message received was 'Authentication failed'. I tried signed in to Adobe website using the name ID and password, there was no problem. Could someone PLEASE HELP me!

  • Video with Google Talk?

    I have seen a few people on Twitter say they now can use Google Talk like Skype/Tango.  Is there something I am missing because when i go into Google Talk, no option for video.

    So far, I've either had the video fail to start, or only display the view from the back camera (that is, my desk and feet).  If you press on your name in the list of Talk users, a dialog will pop up allowing you to enter a status message and set your status.  Below that is a checkbox for Allow video and voice chats.  You'll want that checked.
    On the other hand, I still don't have it using the front camera despite this morning's Gingerbread update.  The screen goes dark and stays there (until I press the back button); or the screen goes dark and then flashes back to a chat, refusing to even try video after that; or once I got the rear camera to work while my friend's phone rang, but he was away.
    I'm hoping I can find some answers: this was the feature I looked forward to the most.

  • Google Talk for Blackberry login failure, invalid username and password

    I have a new 8520 Curve from which I cannot seem to log into Google Talk using the gtalk for Blackberry application. I have absolutely no problems logging into the service with applications from Google such as Voice, however the Google Talk by RIM is failing.  I have tried with both my standard gmail account and my business Google Apps account with no success.
    Here is what is happening.
    Start Google Talk
    I type in my username
    I type in my password
    I select Remember Password
    I select Automatically Sign me in
    I push Sign In
    The Sign in Fails with "Username and Password do not Match. You Provided ([email protected])."
    I really honestly know my password, and have even signed into google services from this very phone in past few minutes so something else is going on.

    It is half a year later and I have EXACTLY the same problem.
    Why can this app not be fixed?

    I currently have in place CS ACS Solution Engine v3.3.3 and the Remote Agent is installed on Windows Server 2003. I'm using a lab environment to test Authentication to network switches and routers using ACS as Radius with Windows A/D as the backend. I have had success with the authentication using the CiscoSecure DB but when I change it to Windows DB I get the follwing error in the log:

    I installed the RemoteAgent with a Domain Admin Acct. and the CSAgent Service is running with the same acct. Also the external DB is established and the Unknown User Policy is enabled.
    Any suggestions??

    Looking into the CSWINAgent log file, I determined that the authentication request was being "forwarded" to a different Windows Server and failing. Talking to one of our Systems Admins, I determined that the Remote Agent was in fact installed on a Domain Controller, but its role might not provide the service needed to do the username query. Furthermore, he went on the explain that we have a number of DCs in our evnironment, but that they each act as different "roles." Apparently the Remote Agent is smart enough to recognize that the current DC in which the Remote Agent was installed on could not perform the task requested and looked for the DC that could (the log file gave me the name of the DC that could). The Systems Admin stated that the DC that the log file was pointing to was the "PDC emulator" in our native envirnoment. So in short, I installed it on the suspected DC and everything works great. I did have to that the Domain Admin to the security Policy that you stated. I have been doing 802.1X machine and user auth ever since without issue. Thanks for your help.

  • Google Talk stopped working

    Recently I have not had much success using iChat with my Google Talk account. Every day for an undetermined amount of time, I am unable to sign in to my account, it says that my password is incorrect. After some time it will sign in. Sometimes half an hour later, sometimes hours later.
    The settings in my account server settings are as follows:
    Server: talk.google.com
    Port: 5223 [x]Use SSL
    [ ] Automatically discover server & port
    [x] Warn before password is sent insecurely
    [ ] Use Kerberos v5 for authentication
    The account information contains my email address, ending with @gmail.com.
    I'm not sure why this started happening all of a sudden. I didn't make any changes anywhere, which leads me to suspect this is a problem on Google's end. Has anyone been having the same problem?

    Curiouser and Curiouser.
    iChat using Google does a SSL Login.
    any AIM Login with an AIM ID or Apple one can have the SSL option turned off in iChat and is a common thing to do when using port 443.
    However I guess you will tell me that both sorts are using SSL
    If not then it may (I Stress MAY) be the issue with the routers you go though.
    I can not really see a University turning off port 5223 on a now and then basis.
    (GoogleTalk login port)
    In fact I would struggle to see SSL as an issue at the other locations either.
    Now it maybe that the University uses Stateful Packet Inspection to help "protect" it's network.
    This is supposed to check for Valid data packets.
    However in Video chats these can be overwhelmed by the amount of Data.
    This is not likely to be the case for Logins but it may having something to do with the amount of other traffic from other users on that network which may contribute to the issue.

  • Pidgin farsight2 error using Google Talk video calls

    Hey all,
    I'm trying to get video calls to work on Google Talk, unsuccesfull so far. I have all the deps installed (using Pidgin from [extra]) and the account works. I can send and receive messages, but that's it.
    I can receive sound, but can't send. I can see my own webcam, but my contact doesn't see mine and I don't see hers. Whenever the call is established, I get this error:

    I don't know why it defaults to libvdpau, as I own an ATi card. Anyway, I then try to mess with the settings as per so:
    Video -> Output -> Plug-in: X Window System (Xv), Device: AMD Radeon AVIVO Video.
    But it still crashes, with the same error.
    That made me think that perhaps it is the input, so I changed those like so:
    Video -> Input -> Plug-in: Test Input, Device: Standard.
    Same error.
    Next step, like below, still same error:
    Video -> Input -> Plug-in: Video4Linux2, Device: Standard.
    Lastly, I changed like this, but still, same error:
    Video -> Input -> Plug-in: Video4Linux2, Device: Video WebCam.
    Can someone explain to me why it keeps erroring out looking for an nVidia specific library?

    So I used pkgfile to find out which package contains libvdpau_nvidia.so:

    I am trying to log into the youtube app on my iPad but not able to.  I keep getting the error message which says "authentication failed"
    I have tried logging in by both using just my google ID and by using my google ID @gmail.com, i.e. [email protected]

    I just clicked on the link and it worked.  Maybe you have to be signed into google.  I think this is what I did, but it was over a year ago...
    Log in with your desktop/laptop browser to your Google account, next go to Youtube and click "upload video".  There you will be asked for a username (if your google account has a dot or hi-fen in it), once this step has been completed you can sign in using your application specific password.
