Sony Piqq qlasp headphones. Warranty

It's quite obvious to me now why Sony only warranties their headphones for 90 days. After about 8 months of occasional use. Weekly at most. the right ear just stopped working for no apparent reason. Will never buy a Sony product again. Consider my purchase a donation to your company for I have received nothing worth while in return. I will also be encouraging everyone who asks me (A computer science major) what type of electronics to buy to steer clear of Sony. Thanks for nothing Sony. May this be a warning to future customers.

Good morning. I'm Sarah Kepler with Sony Support (USA). I'm very sorry to hear about your PIIQ headphones. We certainly want you to enjoy your purchase. I would like to review your case. If you don't mind, please email my dept at [email protected] along with your model # and contact name & info. Then in the subject line, please put: SEL Forum username: USER-988144.
I look forward to hearing from you

After working fine for several months, my iPhone 5 has started dropping bluetooth connectivity for 2 to 5 seconds at a time with my Sony MDR-1RBT headphones.  The headphones work fine with other bluetooth devices.  I haven't moved to iOS7 yet.  Any ideas?

What user troubleshooting have you done on the phone? The steps are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Understand that a restore will put the latest iOS on your device. It is also possible there is a hardware fault on the device and the Bluetooth is failing. Anything is possible given the scenario you describe.
And as far as iOS 7.x is concerned, we have 5 different iPhones here at home, all with the latest iOS, a 4, 4s, 5c, and 2-5s and all are working just fine. So, a blanket statement such as the one provided by the other poster is not completely true. Others are not having any issues at all either.

  • Sony DR-BT50 Headphones

Hey there, I just bought a pair of Sony DR-BT50 headphones. When I try to pair them with my Mac (running 10.4) they do not come up. Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a patch I could use instead of upgrading to Leopard?
    Thanks!

figured this out on my own. I didn't have the headphones set for pairing.

  • How to hook up a Sony RF Wireless Headphone

I want to hook up my Sony RF Wireless Headphones to my television system.  All inputs to the TV -  including Direct TV and various DVD players - are HDMI through a Yamaha Tuner.  The HDMI inputs are digital and there is no analog audio output availabe on the tuner or TV to interface with the headphones.  Do you have any suggestions on how I can hook up the RF wireless headphonees to my system?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.
The Sony Wireless RF headphones should have a base where the headphones attach and charge. The same base should have RCA inputs(RED/WHITE) where the RCA from the TV AUDIO OUT should be placed. The TV must have AUDIO OUT for the headphones to operate correctly. If you need further assistance please contact Sony Support  for any further assistance.

  • Sony MDR 1R Headphones compatability with Lumia 92...

    Hi
Would you have used the Sony MDR 1R Headphones "wired type" with Lumia 920, using Sony supplied iPhone cable. If the phones work with headphone connection on the 920. Cheers
Mobiles sure aint what they used to be. They get better

I would not know why not, but I have neither the 920 (use a 620) nor the MDR 1R headset (use SOny earbuds or a set of MDR V700 cans which sound just fine to me

  • Instantaneous hearing loss using a pair of Sony MDR-7506 headphones

Hello Sony, I am posting here to inform you of a life changing event which occurred June 5th while I was producing music with my Sony MDR-7506 headphones on my mid 2012 MacBook Pro.  Long story short, after years of listening to music at low volume levels and being proactive about the maximum output of my devices, I was accidently exposed to three very short blasts of 115 dB SPL noise (less than a second of time total) from my headphones which has given me permanent low frequency hearing loss in my left ear, persistent tinnitus and hyperacusis.   I'd like to mention that the documentation which came with the headphones states only the following precaution related to hearing loss:  "Avoid listening with your headphones at so loud a volume that extended play might affect your hearing”.  The documentation says nothing regarding the possibility of instantaneous hearing loss, and I believe this is something that should be mentioned in an effort to keep users informed.  I was not using any speciallized hardware amplifier, only these headphones and an Apple laptop.   I personally experienced about 115dB SPL (both calculated and measured), which caused my hearing loss, but these headphones can go up to 136 dB SPL (caclualted).  Normally the headphones will have a maximum dB SPL (calculated) close to around 120 dB SPL (macbook pro for example), and this is generally considered loud, but not permenantly damaging.  The fact I have had this serious damage done at only 115 dB SPL is an indication that not all ears are made the same, and as such, users should be warned of the possibilities.  In a recent interview with Jeffery Holt, an associate professor of otology at Harvard University, he is quoted saying, “The more we learn about it, the more we realize that the safe levels are actually lower than we thought previously”.   Personally, I believe it's time to incorperate a standard by which both amplifier and receiver will communicate to help better regulate the damge that can be done.  Such a technology would ensure the saftey of the users and eliminate accidents such as these while remaining relatively simple.  Such devices exist for specialized hardware, but there is the intrinsic difficulty in matching the impedences of the receiver and the amplifier.  A small RFID chip in the headphone cable could easily relay this information to the amplifier, which would then adjust the power output to ensure hearing loss does not occur.   Although such a technology would be wonderful, it is likely not very profitable, as most consumers don't really care to think about their hearing and may even prefer to keep the volume at unsafe levels.  So, I am currently only hoping to speak with someone at Sony about these issues, specifically about the possibility of having this warning added to the packaging of the headphones. Thank You

Hi veita, thank you for bringing your concern to Sony's attention. We apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused you. Kindly PM me your day time phone number and your most convenient time for a call back. Thanks. - Charlie

  • Headphone warranty question

When requesting service for headphone replacement, do I need to sent both my Iphone and headphones to UPS or just the phone?

You take the machine to get repaired at http://www.apple.com/uk/buy/ locations which are authorized service centers. If you are planning on selling the machine, be sure to follow these tips I've written up:
    http://www.macmaps.com/selling.html
In some cases, there are some repair shops which do work for less than Apple that have a good reputation:
    http://www.dttservice.com/
    http://www.powerbookresq.com/
    http://www.microdocusa.com/
    http://www.macspecialist.com/
    http://www.techrestore.com/
Some of these will repair machines from the U.K. as well.
Also note, if your machine is under 1 year old, it is still under a hardware warranty. If you had bought AppleCare, you might still have coverage on your hardware for 3 years from the date you purchased your computer, but you would have had to buy it in the first year to get that coverage. Many of these questions can be answered by AppleCare representatives. Now if the damage was caused because you dropped the machine, normally that is not something covered, or obviously damaged yourself. That's when you have to pay out of pocket for the parts and labor yourself even if it is under AppleCare. AppleCare usually makes the final determination of whether or not it is something they can cover. So I suggest calling them at least to see what the cost will be.

  • In-Ear Headphones Warranty Question

My non-Apple headphones are dead - a wire is probably loose at the connector (most common problem I have with headphones).
I'm probably going to purchase the Apple In-Ear headphones. Does it come with a one-year warranty?
If the cord or connector goes bad will I be able to get it replaced at an Apple Store while under warranty even if I purchase it at another authorized reseller - or, must I purchase it at an Apple Store to get it serviced/replaced there?

    Yes

    Worth a try ..

  • In-Ear Headphones Warranty?

How do I get Apple to honor the warranty that came with my original in-ear headphones. I have bought 2 sets and both have stopped working. There is no online repair request form. When I call Apple support or the Apple store they keeps asking about my iPod and they don't understand that I'm calling about "headphones" I bought separately. It's like they don't even know Apple makes in-ear headphones. I have not been able to contact anyone through email as well.
Please help. Has anyone had their warranty honored?

I was wondering to same thing. I bought a pair and mine are falling appart. The apple site gives no information on how to contact them for that reason. Their service is horrible. It's exactly how you said, it doesn't seem like they even know they make them. I would also like some help from anyone who has any. Maybe I will just have to take mine to the store.
    Please help, thanks.

  • Sony Xperia Z1s Extended Warranty

Hi I just recently recieved a Sony Xperia Z1s as a gift. I think it's refurbished, since the warranty is expired. But I was wondering, if I purchase a 2yr extended warranty on it, what does that exactly cover? Does it cover water damage? I know the manual says it is waterproof up to 1.5m and up to 30 minutes, but if I decided to go swimming in my pool and want to take pictures/videos under water, and for some reason the phone stops working, will it be covered as long as I follow the 1.5m and up to 30 minute rule and make sure the ports are properly closed?

I'm sorry to say this but two points First  On the same link Warranties are only available within 365 days of the purchase date of the product. Just enter the date and we will determine if you quality.   Second the Z1s it's not sold on the website as it's a Tmobile phone, perhaps they, Tmobile, can guide you on this.  http://store.sony.com/unlocked-android-smartphones/cat-27-catid-Android-Smartphone

  • Sony's fake headphone exchange repair program

Why is sony running a fake headphone repair exchange program out of texas.  They state defective headphones can be sent in for repair or exchange,  for a fee.  But when you send in the head phones there is a two month wait,  only to be told there are no repairs,  no exchanges,  no returned headphones,  and no refund.  I'm out the shipping,  the fee,  no returned headphones,  and no answer. I believe sony is scamming customers refusing service,  refusing exchange,  refusing refund,  and refusing to return headphones,  this is criminal behavior.
Must we start a twitter, Facebook, google plus public campaign to get sony to stop screwing customers.
Someone needs to start  investigating  Sony's exchange program.
I am contacting the califonia department of consumer affairs, and post office,  to submit mail fraud changes,  as they Using post office to facilitate theft of customer property.
    #Sony ******
    they have horrendous customer service.

I am very surprised that I don't have most of these problems after the update. Everything is fine, except the touchscreen, and perhaps small issues that I haven't encountered yet. If you usually use 100-200 apps - this is normal. It's too much 3rd party software. Even a good PC will start behaving strangely when you install hundreds of pieces of 3rd party SW.
What I noticed with this phone is that it was extremely buggy since day one. Many of these bugs I managed to fix with doing several factory resets and using the SUS software to repair the software condition. I presume some of these bugs are due to bad installations, lost packets when downloading the update, and general interference with all that 3rd party software. The brand's bloatware, google's bloatware, and the generic stuff you need and get with every android. It's a complete mess.
However, some of these problems keep happening, no matter what. These are:
    - The HORRIBLE touchscreen issue. Seriously, the biggest and most important dealbreaker for me.
    - The really underperforming Wi-Fi signal reception skills of this phone. Where literally all of my collegues manage to get reception, I can't. Really pathetic for a flagship model.
    - The bad quality and clipping of the sound coming out of the speaker.
    - The bad quality of the screen itself. It does badly in sunlight, and has a completely visible matrix when opposed to direct light. I can even see this under the lamp in my toilet. It's ugly and frankly, not premium at all. Not many users see this, but compare it to the Samsung displays of samsung and apple and you will know it for sure.
What do these issues have in common? They are all hardware.

  • Sony MDR-1RBT headphones have crackling or pops in audio when using bluetooth on my iMac - Mountain Lion

I notice crackling noise or pops when I listen to music using my Sony MDR-1RBT bluetooth headphones with my 3.4GHz Intel Core i7 iMac running  OSX 10.8.5
I do not hear the crackling when I listen to the headphones using my MacBook Pro 2.7GHz Intel Core i7 with OSX 10.8.5
I also do not hear the crackling when using wired connection to the headphones.
So it would seem that something with the Bluetooth on the iMac is the problem. But I have no idea how to troubleshoot this further.
Does anyone have any ideas what the cause may be?
I am pretty sure that it is not interference from another device because I can connect to my MacBook Pro in the same area as my iMac with no crackling

    Hi Michael Erb1,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  It may also be worth resetting the NVRAM of your iMac to see if that helps with the crackling:
