Giovanni,
I think your question is not clear. Could you please go ahead and explain the question in detail or attach screenshots to explain the issue.

  • Adding Sony plugin to Adobe Camera Raw (6.7)

Can't figure out how to add Sony's ARW2 raw format to Adobe Camera Raw for Photoshop CS5.  Am I forced to go to PS6 and all that Cloud stuff?

If you install the Sony plug-in, or any other Sony software, in Photoshop, it will create massive conflicts.
You can't add anything to any version Adobe Camera Raw for Photoshop.  ACR itsel if is nothing but a Photoshop plug-in.  You can only install plug-ins in Photoshop proper, the same way ACR itself is installed.  But, as per the previous paragraph, that is a monumentally bad idea.
To convert your Sony raw files, you use EITHER ACR in Photoshop, or skip Adobe Camera Raw and Photoshop and use the Sony software for the conversion.

  • Sony ARW files in Camera RAW 6.2 for PSE 8

Recently I bought a new camera, a Sony A580. I made several tests in RAW (ARW-files) and found out that my PSE8 does not recognize the files and hence, does not import them into the organizer.
I started searching and installed the Adobe Camera RAW 6.2 update, and installed a Sony update for viewing ARW files in Windows Vista/7.
Now I can view the ARW files in Windows, but still cannot import them into the organizer.
Is there anybody out there who can help me importing my ARW files into the PSE8 organizer?
    Thank you in advance,
    With kind regards,

    Well, very clear answer.
Can you tell me where I can find information about models which are supported by Camera RAW 6.2? I've been searching everywhere but only been able to find supported camera models for Camera RAW 6.3.
Thanks a lot for your swift answer and the supplied links.

  • Adobe Bridge CS6 (Mac) won't open .arw files from my Sony RX100. How do I get and install the right version of Camera Raw?

Adobe Bridge CS6 (Mac) won't open .arw files from my Sony RX100. I was told to update Camera Raw to at least 7.2. I tried to download this but got a DNG Converter instead. Where is Camera Raw? (it does not show up in a search of my hard drive. There is a folder of camera profiles but no extension or plug-in with this name). How do I find out what version I have already? How do I get the correct version?  . . . OR . . . is it the case that Bridge will never open Sony raw files directly and I will have to do a separate conversion process every time I want to use a raw file??. Can someone explain this?
    Thanks.

    Bruce,
When I made the transition to digital some 8 years ago, I had tremendous help from a number of well documented websites, among which:
    http://www.luminous-landscape.com
I think a lot of stuff there to get you seriously going. Another one is:
    http://www.computer-darkroom.com
I sold all my film based stuff, except a Nikon F3 and a handful of lenses and a Paterson developing tank.
The Nikon suspiciously smells like foam mirror damping strips chemically decaying.
I sold my enlarger over the internet. The word "enlarger" caused me to be on SpamCops blacklist for a while.
I'm in this since the seventies, and I think you'll be as amazed as I was at the possibilities and control you have. And no more bags with $300 worth of film that's consumed in one shoot.
Jump in both feet! you won't be sorry. And these forums are the best help you can get.
    Good luck,
    Rob

  • Missing Lensprofiles from SONY and ZEISS in Camera Raw

    Hello,
A few months ago I switched from Canon to Sony and Carl Zeiss and ever since I am missing some lens profiles in Camera Raw.
I'm a picture editor and of course miss this opportunity of pre-correcting the lens profiles in the RAW development. I can not create the profiles themselves, like I have already been advised to do by an adobe employee. Now I have been waiting for the latest update and I also changed to PS CC.
Unfortunately, I still miss these camera profiles: SONY SAL-500F40G, SONY SAL-300F28G2, SONY SAL-100M28, 135F18Z Zeiss, Zeiss 85F14Z, 24F20Z Zeiss, Zeiss 1635Z. I hereby would like to respectfully ask for these profiles included in Camera Raw. My entire image processing stands and falls with the RAW development. If I have to make cuts in the beginning, all following workflow suffers.
As a premium provider of image editing software, you should not only follow the mainstream (Canon and Nikon), but also the "niche supplier" (SONY and ZEISS).
I would appreciate any information about that topic very much!

The support for that camera was added in the very latest release of Lightroom, version 5.7.1. Having downloaded Camera Raw 8.7.1 will have no effect on Lightroom because Lightroom doesn't use the Camera Raw plug-in. You need to make sure you have updated Lightroom to the very latest release in order to have support for that camera.

  • Problem with camera raw for Sony 350K and PSE 6

I have recently tried to download my first batch of RAW pictures taken with a Sony A350K camera into PSE6 but I am told the format is not recognised.  I thought I had  successfully down loaded ACR 4.6 but apparently not as they are still not recognised.  Can anyone throw any light on what I might be doing wrong?

If you have left the old version of Camera Raw.8bi in the folder, even if you have renamed it, Photoshop will still use it.

  • Camera raw for sony alpha 7 and PS 5

    HI
I am an amateur photographer and am very happy in my little PS5 world.  I do not want to commit to PS6 and the CC and a lifetime of fees.  I am, unfortunately, thinking about getting the sony alpha 7.  It is unclear to me if camera raw 6.7 will support it.  I have read 2 different answers on the internet
I love camera raw in PS. If I can't open these images in PS, can I do it in lightroom?  Does lightroom have a nice camera raw?  (I am using camera raw 6.3 and it is wonderful.)
Is there any easy answer for a very casual photographer who cannot justify the cost of monthly program fees?
    thanks!

The Alpha 7 wasn't supported until Camera Raw 8.3 at the end of last year. ACR 8.3 only works in CS6/CC.
I recommend using the latest available version of Camera Raw for each version of CS, which in your case (CS5) is 6.7.1. The latest versions are usually the best, fixing the most bugs and containing refinements missing from earlier versions.
The cheapest way to carry on with CS5 is to download Adobe DNG Converter, and batch-convert folders of your Alpha files to DNG. It's an extra step after downloading your images, but it's free.
Camera Raw 6.7.1 and DNG Converter 8.6 are both available from the downloads section of the Adobe website. Please note that you may need DNG Converter 8.3 if you are still running CS5 on XP/Vista or (Snow-) Leopard.
Photoshop Lightroom is designed by the same team which writes Camera Raw and uses very similar programming. Consequently, it works in a similar way to Camera Raw (with Bridge) and is updated at the same time—following its version numbering by a increment of 3 (currently Lightroom 5.6). You could buy Lightroom and use it to import and convert your raw files without using DNG Converter and Camera Raw. It's a Marmite thing: some people love it, some don't. You can probably download a free trial and find out for yourself. Once you have converted your images in Lightroom, you can export them to Photoshop CS5 for editing.

  • Camera Raw And Sony Cameras

I have Photoshop CS5 and Camera Raw 2012 version 6.7.0.339. In Camera Raws camera Calibration Panel under Camera Profile it only says Adobe Standard, there is no drop down menu with eg. Landscape , Camera vivid etc.  My Cameras are Sony SLTa65 and Sony A33 which are supported by this version of Camera Raw. Why is there no drop down menu and a different process date?

  • Sony a580, PSE8 and Camera Raw

Hi, having just purchased a sony a580 i've just found out that the RAW files are not supported by current ACR.
I use PSE8.   Will there be an update available soon that will support RAW files from the a580 in ACR & PSE8?

ACR 6.3 plug-in is now available for PSE9. ACR 6.2 can be used to update PSE8. To find out what version you have open the PSE Editor and click:
    Help >> About Plug-in >> Camera Raw
You can simply open the Editor and click on Help >Updates or download manually. If downloading manually to the desktop, extract the files, and double click on the AdobePatchInstaller file - then follow the on-screen instructions.
Click here for Windows download for PSE9.
Click here for MAC download for PSE9.
Click herefor Windows download for PSE8.
Click here for MAC download for PSE8.
N.B. For those not wishing to upgrade to PSE9 - you can use the freely available DNG converter 6.3 and then use Elements to open and edit the DNG files. It’s recommended you keep your original raw files as back-up as they can always be read by your camera software.
    DNG Converter 6.3 for Windows.
    DNG Converter 6.3 for MAC.

  • Camera raw cs4 and sony dsc-rx100

how do i make cs4 camera raw to work with sony's dsc-rx100?

Support for the RX-1 was added in Camera Raw 7.3. But I don't know if your camera was added before that or not. At any rate it wasn't supported in any version for Photoshop CS4. IF support has been added, you will have to use the DNG converter to create digital negative copies of your raw images. Those will open with what you have now. It might be that support for your camera will be added in an upcoming update. If that is the case then you will have to wait until the DNG converter update is released. But I can tell you that your native raw files will never be usable with ACR for Photoshop CS4.

  • I have Adobe photoshop cs5. need to update camera raw, cause my camera raw is  2010and does not read my camera,  I went out and downloaded the new one and it does not link to adobe photoshop cs5

I have moved my Photoshop CS5 to my traveling computer,a Surface Pro 3.  I have photoshop loaded but in trying to look at raw images it says my camera raw does not support the sony alpha 65 which is what I have.  I went out and tried to download the newest raw version and even went out and did a zipfile download and it will not update my current version.  What should I do

I have 6.0.  Tried to download newest verion and it will not download.  Went out and then downloaded a zipfile and it still will not download, thus cannot look at my raw pictures.

  • I have a Sony Alpha a6000 and I took some photos in the raw format and tried to check them

I have a Sony Alpha a6000 and I took some photos in the raw format and tried to check them out in Photoshop but got a error saying that camera raw was out of date with my new camera.  Even after updating my Photoshop CS 5 extended with camera raw 6.7    I beleive the exact wording was "camera not supported by the current version of Camera Raw"
Is there another version of Camera raw I can download that will allow this or is my camera just too new for the version of photoshop I have?
    Thanks

Adobe’s camera support list suggests you need ACR 8.4 or newer:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/camera-raw-plug-supported-cameras.html
Your camera is several years newer than the last ACR plug-in CS5 will host.
If you’re not quite sure you want to spend the money for a new PS, then you can download and use the free DNG Converter 8.4 or newer to make DNGs from the ARW files and those DNGs will have enough new information embedded in them for an older ACR plug-in to work with.  Of course this is more cumbersome than opening the files natively in PS-CC with the newest ACR plug-in.
The most obvious thing would be to subscribe to the CC Photography Plan and get the current versions of both LR and PS-CC for $10/month.   There is a minimum OS requirement of 10.7 or Win 7 currently and maybe 10.8/Win7 for LR6—not sure about the next PS version because Adobe hasn’t publically said as far as I know.
One thing you haven’t seen using only PS-CS5/ACR6.x is that CS6/ACR7 or newer, there is a new toning model that seems superior for most images.
